"I got invited here for my friends birthday that happened to be on NYE so she paid a price to have a table that could accommodate a large crowd I even called day of to confirm! We arrived and not only did she pay a large price for the table but everyone had to pay $45 at the door just for them to only give half are table the VIP bracelets they paid for and when the rest of us asked for are money back they told us quote “we don’t do refunds” and when I asked to speak with management are group of 12 people that all paid $45 each to get in got kicked out of the club! I have worked in the hospitality industry for years including bars restaurants and even clubs this is outrageous! Total price for my group of people to get in was $540"

My best friend had his birthday party here this last Friday. He had previously come to the club to check it out and see if it would work for his party. He text me the next day saying that the drinks and food were so great and he couldn't wait to celebrate there. He had talked with the owner to set up when the party would be and what not. When we arrived my best friend told the two women outside who he was and that there is a room waiting for us. These two woman had no idea who we were and didn't have a name written down. The guy that stamps your wrist came over and asked what was wrong and if we had paid the cover yet. He treated us like we were scum. One of the girls finally went and got the owner. Then she came back and told us to go a head inside. We took over a room closest to the door and waited for our the waitresses that had said they would be helping us. It took 30 minutes to get someone to help us. Finally my friend went out and ordered from the bartender who, he said, had been very helpful and friendly the last time he was there and was this time as well. He started a tab out with the bartender and we got some drinks. About 10 minutes after that 2 waitresses came in to help us. We were then told that one waitress was brand new and the other waitress would be helping us as well. Not a good start when you have a party of 30 people coming. We finally got to order after asking a couple different people to come in and take our order as other guest started to arrive. The food took about an hour to get out to us and it tasted horrible. One of my friend got chicken alfredo and she said the pasta was completely cold. The rest of us got burgers that tasted funny. My best friend said the food was so much better last time. After that people started drinking and having a good time. Around 1am we decided to leave. We started paying our tabs. The waitress came in and told me that sense we had brought in a cake that there was a $15 charge for it. I told her we tried to pay that in the beginning but no one wanted to take it; plus after all the crap in the beginning of the evening I thought she should take it off the tab. She just shrugged at me. So I asked her to put it on my tab so my best friend didn't have to pay for it. I didn't want him more upset with how this night was going. He then got his tab but they didn't bring in his ID and debit card that he had left with the bartender. He asked the waitress to go out and pick it up for him when she brought back his tab. We got our tab's paid for and left. The next morning my best friend can't find his ID or debit card. The waitress didn't bring it over to him. I was so disappointed with this place. I can't believe the level of service that we got. It was awful.
Trio Lounge review There was no line at the Trio Lounge on New Years Eve and only a $10 cover, which was impressive compared to other venues. My friends and I pay our cover, and then… wander through a hastily cobbled maze of chain link fences crudely covered in butcher paper. It had a strong resemblance to the temporary haunted houses that pop up around Halloween. We soon find ourselves guided through the kitchen and onto a secluded dance floor gated off from the main portion of the club. The music was astonishingly loud, and with only a single room to be in, there was no place to talk. There were only two other features in this room other than the dance floor - the line to the bathroom, and a couple classy decanters of water in the corner. Unfortunately I have to use the bathroom. Eventually I got through the line and was greeted by what appeared to be the hardest working toilet in Portland. It’s a sight. Its porcelain skin drenched in equal parts urine and condensation. At some point a truly overworked server walks along the perimeter of the dance floor. Dim light and loudness make it difficult to communicate, but she is amazingly good at interpreting. Pure professionalism. Twenty minutes pass and we wonder if she actually worked there. She shows balancing a tray of drinks but the lack of a table, or perhaps the darkness, or maybe the proximity to dancing bodies, it comes tumbling down. Our poor server is near tears, describing how that is the second time that has happened tonight. The floor becomes just a little more sticky, and we leave. “It’s pretty bad in there,” we tried to let the security guard know as we left. “I’ve heard,” he replies, in the bland exhausted tone one learns when confronted with a dissatisfied public. Honestly it was pretty eerie, there was virtually no one on staff to interact with. You pay $10 and you go into a loud dark hole. It also felt a bit like robbery, since as we were leaving we were told that we would get refunds on the drinks that fell but I was still charged. My heart goes out to the security guards, bartenders, servers, and all the staff at Trio Lounge, that whole setup was a catastrophe. I can only imagine how stressful that night was for all of you.

Time and time again, I'll be at some of the usual bars in Portland's own Burnside strip. Romtoms with its great outdoor area, Plan-B with its grunge, and Doug Fir with its firepit and amazing music stage. Down the street I see this giant purple & pink blob that just never sat right. One day we all decided we were going to finally check this monster out, and boy were we absolutely on spot with our assumptions. Our friend knew the KJ and said we could probably work something out to get in for free and avoid the $10 cover. We waited outside in the rain, all huddled under the one mini-tent they had for what seemed like 30 minutes. There was nobody in line, and and the place was not that crowded. What was the deal? It turns out while the KJ was aware of our group arriving, the door person was not allowing it without all of us paying their steep cover. Screw it, we all agreed! Halfway down the street one of the promoters came out and offered us to get in. He knew that our business was appreciated and respected that we were here to have a good time, not to start a gang war or to come in and dry hump all of the ladies, we had a pretty even ratio. After a nice pat down, ID check, and photo taken of us (what is this for?) we were all in. The place is right out of Vegas. Bright, flashy screens playing random MilkDrop-esque patterns, heavy bass that prevents you with conversing with anyone, high fashion and dress codes. I went to the bar. I had a few drinks already but wanted a few more to get my Karaoke-level buzz going. A Modelo I ask for... $5.75. Okay this is high scale pricing... I get it. My second beer, a little cheaper this time... $5.25. What did I order? A Bud Lite. $5.25 for a Bud Light bottle. I stopped my drinking right there. We retreated into the karaoke room which, actually was not too bad. The KJs were on spot and we all got a turn to sing through the night. If you could somehow manage to direct-feed me into the karaoke room here and avoid the entire "Vegas Club" experience, I may come back.

I have worked in the hospitality industry for years including bars restaurants and even clubs this is outrageous! Total price for my group of people to get in was $540.00 and that doesn’t count the drinks we got while we were waiting! I will never go back to trio ever again! Never have been sober and kicked out of an establishment before I asked to speak with management at Trio Nightclub!
Came to the trio lounge as a last stop to a bar crawl and had a blast. The venue has a quite large open dance floor space that filled up nicely with lots of people around 11 PM to 1 AM on Halloween weekend. Previously have been to this location on a Thursday and Sunday night and seen it completely empty so I recommend if you are coming to have a fun night to really only come to round out your weekend night. Also recommend if you are worried about spending money to buy the specials instead of ordering specific cocktails or shots as they can be $15 or more per shot which definitely rose an issue with several of the groups that were part of the crawl. Around 1 a.m. the bar call was over and many people were leaving and the music switched to mariachi vibes which can be quite overwhelming with laser lights, but really true in a fun, dancing crowd.

Layout is fantastic. It REALLY is a beautiful place. Bartenders are excellent (and quite beautiful, if I can say that). Now for some improvements that they might want to consider. 1.) I've been in a number of bands and the stage is TRULY too small for any kind of "show." 2.) The Karaoke setup is terrible (DJ was good and doing the best she could with what she's given) but c'mon, that is NOT a real Karaoke setup (not even close). 3.) DON'T ORDER FOOD!! I cannot stress this enough. I don't believe it's the cook's fault but the Chef should never allow food like that to be served to real people. Every place that serves food should have a chef involved. I had an excellent time and the ambience was OUTSTANDING. Would i recommend the place for an outing? Yes, absolutely. Just read my comment, please. Set your expectations low and you'll be pleasantly surprised.

I'm familiar with this club since they opened and it has transformed with experience and seems to only get better depending on what you are looking for. It appears in efforts not to be the same all the time and as a very young club it has morphed and will continue to change over the years to keep it fresh. As far as I know, it is the largest club in PDX and they aim to please. Karaoke in one room and the line is usually short as most of the folks in the room are spectators. Latin music in the "White" room; labeled that merely because of the decor... The main room changes nightly... call ahead. It's always dance but the music style changes. Sometimes they have live music and they are absolutely set up for it. Prices are a little higher than average but you get what you pay for! If it's not your scene one night, try a different night! Across the street from another fantastic venue, The Doug Fir
Best club in Portland!!! The main venue is dance hip-hop and it was just the right amount of people; crowded but you could shake it just fine without being elbowed. I would say about 100 people in the hop hop stage. There is another room sectioned off with Latino dance music and that was packed as well; about 70-80 people. I went on a Saturday night and it was so much fun!!!! The security was great so you also felt safe while partying. The drinks were average and you had to wait too long but the atmosphere definitely made up for it. There is also a little tiny room for karioke that can hold about 30 people. Each room is structured so the sounds is contained and the different genres don't bleed into each other and the volume is perfect; not to load where you can't even feel your own heartbeat but load enough to get your blood flowing.
The security is absolutely absurd, they scan your face with a camera and pull up your drivers license photo and criminal history to determine if you're allowed in the club or not. On top of that, there's a $10 cover fee for everyone including ladies. The ATM charges $4 to pull out money as well.. And every bartender that I have come in contact with has been extremely rude and copped an attitude with me. My friend ordered a long island and they never even poured the alcohol in it, when we tried to talk to a male bar tender about it and he said that we could only talk to the woman who made it and she was so rude about it and wouldn't remake the drink even though only a few sips were taken out of it. The music is garbage to top it all off. Definitely not returning here.. I would recommend Century Bar down the street.
Ok so I did a trial run to work at this bar last night… The space has great potential, however it seems they have a difficult time keeping bartenders they wanted me to start and interview and onboard tonight… which is not how it’s supposed to go (it’s a like they don’t have any other bartenders for REASONS♀️ )I was legit HORRIFIED at the state of the bar … so much so I’m actually writing a review about it. like… if the lemon juice label was correct (I tasted it, it was correct) it went bad a month ago, no labels on the cut produce, they told me I didn’t have to melt the ice in the bin at the end of the night and didn’t tell me a cleaning procedure …. Yeah… I think I’m good on this place. Hopefully they can turn it around

$25 for a cover would be fine if security wasn’t tighter than the airport where my face and license had to be scanned. Not to mention when I ordered two drinks off the menu, the bartender had to keep looking at the menu to remember what was in it. Then took forever to make it as she had to pour liquor from one side of the bar and then walk it to slowly in jigger to the cups of ice she placed in front of me. Then she didn’t even mix them..which was disgusting. To top it all off, the restrooms were disguising and I heard it was worse in the women’s restroom since they had no toilet paper and one of the stalls were broken and there were used toilet seat covers on the floor. Paying to get into this club ain’t worth it, spend your money elsewhere
This used to be the old Galaxy restaurant and bar. I loved that place. The food was out of this world and the service and atmosphere were the BEST! Now, however, I am sad to say, I will never go back. The Trio Club has changed it and not in a good way. The food was substandard (menu completely changed, my beef and broccoli was so sweet it ruined the dish), the service was horrible (had to ask for the rice and had to leave my table and go to a completely different room to get a refill on my drink), the atmosphere is loud and vibrant (very pleasing to the eye), but all in all, I was very disappointed in the place as a whole. If you used to LOVE the Galaxy, you will hate this place. Again, I will never go back.
Went here to watch the Mayweather vs. Pacquiao fight. $25 advertised ticket prices went up to $30 at the door. Buffet dinner was also advertised to be available between 6-8pm. Their idea of a buffet was bringing out one or two trays of food enough for 8-10 people every half hour. Safe to say there were many hungry people at the event. Would've been better if they didn't even bother to advertise the buffet. Drinks were also very slow to reach the tables. I guess that helped keep our overall bill down.
I am giving it a 1 star for the fact I drove down from Longview for new years only to find that it was closed Along with everything else in the area. I mean I wouldn't if they had at least made the effort to post it on the website. It would have saved me a trip to Portland for no reason. It was a bummer because then I spent the new year frustrated on I5 missing the fact that I could already have been at Ilani and not had to wait in a massive crowd. I probably will not make the effort again.
horrible horrible waste of money place. Majorly overpriced. Barely any alcohol in drinks. They added $1.75 to every drink I ordered for a gratuity and refused to remove it. There was nobody in there. The people that did come and go were weirdos. And then when we left this ghost town of a lame, overpriced, weak drinks place, there was a line of people waiting to get in! When there was nobody in the club!! do yourself a favor and go somewhere else!
The place is ok overall but if you go, do not open a tab. The bartender swore I had bought for drinks last night (which is not true). I typically trust bartenders to keep their patron tabs in order but he insisted I ordered the same two drinks I originally ordered and then went back to get the same two drinks again one at a time. I only got two, one at a time. But I rather just pay the tab than argue with the bartender. There is no point.
This place is something different every few months. Most recently, a Mexican place with the best tacos I have ever eaten. Then they closed 3 weeks in, but these guys kept the tacos. They are still pretty tasty. The hours are still very erratic. Google says 5pm but I've tried to go at around 5:45 a few times recently and they've been closed with the exception of one day last week.

Although it feels more LA than PDX, Trio is a blast. There are two dance areas: one with pop dance tunes and one with salsa/bachata music. There's free karaoke every day (!!!) and if you go on a weeknight you'll have the place to yourself, with no cover! Plus the bartender that works the weekends is one of the best in the region. Don't be fooled by reviewers complaining about a $5 cover or $6 drinks (hello??)..
Has a separate karaoke section, some slot machines, a section for Hispanic music which is great to have in one club. Love the decor, the people are nice, long line but a nice venue to get into. Definitely a place id take friends to and would be able to be all together. Not many booths or tables considering the amount of people that go there. Good Dj. Parking is horrible though. Expect to walk a distance.
It was the worst place I have ever been at in Portland they over exaggerate with the price $25 ridiculous is not even a fancy place. I really want to give this place a big fat 0. Oh the owner of this place ghetto person dressing in a ghetto expensive outfit that obviously afforded with the price they charge at the entrance really unprofessional and do not explain himself at all. Worst place do not go.
First of all, charging a cover at 9pm and then having the nerve to not even have a DJ until almost midnight?! The same music was playing for hours. Then the drinks cost 10.50$ but have no alcohol in them. There could not have been more than half a shot per drink because I could feel nothing after 2 drinks, and I'm a light weight. The place is pretty though... just not worth the money spent
The early dance scene is fun with lots of room on the dance floor. I appreciate the karaoke room as well. It can be a little crowded Fri/Sat later in the evenings after 10 PM. Drinks are ok, with decent top shelf options. I usually order whiskey/bourbon neat or with a rock.

I am shocked this place still has its doors open. I went there on a Saturday, and it was a ghost town. I went through more intense security than a military check point in Iraq, and had to pay $10 to get in just to pay $15 for a Redbull vodka. Ownership of this place clearly has no clue of how to make this place busy, what a shame it’s beautiful venue!
The bartender on the third room tried to play me, I paid 20$ & I saw her dumba**switch it with a 1$ bill & said I gave her a 1$ bill. I ignored her took the drink without any change & sat down in one of the pods & she even came over & took the drink away saying to pay the right amount. She tried to be slick but ended up looking like a dumb ho perra.
So much potential. If they get the bar working they could make so much more money. They also need to run sound better. The club is nice and the one bartender was trying so hard but the rest of the staff was lost. One bartender for a full club and then closing out credit cards for every drink ... ???

One week this place is a Chinese restaraunt The next week. It’s a Mexican restaurant. This place makes no sense. It also has a horrible reputation which always seems to be a reality. Management ownership has literally no idea what they are doing and they do not care about their patrons stay clear of this place.

Nice atmosphere the place it is decorated pretty cool but crazy expensive if you want to pay $10 to get in the door and then $10 for a mixed drink then this is the place for you. My friend got bottle service to the tune of $260 and they brought out a offbrand vodka obviously cheap. Definitely not worth the money
These people here crooks! Very Bad Service! I was in for like 30mins I got to get my friend an Uber! When I to go back they said I mast pay again! They acted like the stump I had on my doesn’t matter. Basically trying to get money twice. The people at entrance are very rude! Absolutely worsed experience!
terrible people they lie and are not concerned about their customers at all one of their waitresses knocked my phone under the stage and they refuse to get it out for me on top of that i have pictures in my friends phone of people i know to be minors drinking in their club
We got there at 10pm on a Saturday night and it was dead. People started coming in between 10:30-11 and then the party started. Great place to hang out, want to keep going.

It's Sunday night at 2am and the bass notes are still pounding in my head across the street!!!! Why in the world would anyone be parting at this time of night on a Sunday!!!! Where is the sound ordinance law??? And don't people work on Monday?
Love this club. I always have a good time when I go here and have no problem bringing a large group of friends with me. The owner is extremely nice and is very good at making you feel welcome and satisfied. His staff gives great customer service.
I’ve been to Trio a few times. Love the music selection and the dance floor isn’t overwhelmingly packed. They close at 3:30am but stop serving drinks at 2am, that is pretty annoying if your want to stay out longer. There is also no re-entry.
Came here Sunday night for my birthday, there was literally no one else expect staff, but just from that I can tell this place is lit on a Friday and Saturday. I'll update when I go back on Saturday

The negative reviews almost stopped us from finding a fantastic local restaurant that has great food. We visited twice on our trip once for lunch and another for happy hour. ..great service, and excellent Chinese food!
This place is very overpriced, staff is very rude, bartenders cannot hear orders over the music, bathrooms always disgusting and out of toilet paper. Unless you're planning to pay for VIP there is no seating available.
Fun place for a private event. Do not think I would want to go on a regular weekend however as the "club scene" no longer appeals to me though. Bartender was nice and they will make you just about whatever you order.
I just recently went last weekend on a Friday. The dj was sooooo good I danced all by myself, it was so fun. Hoping more people will start going here again, the staff are very personable and the space is magic!
Shots are waaayyy overpriced & the bartenders on NTE were slow as molasses Very disappointed as The Trio Lounge has gone downhill alot just over the last 3 yrs.

Good Karaoke room. There is also the other 2 rooms playing different types of music, usually hip-pop or Latin. Recent changes have slightly reduce the dance floor area to accommodate VIP tables.
This was the worst experience I had I can’t believe the racism that I wa subjected to.I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone The security was horrible in every way Comments were full of racism.
They make you wait in line when it is raining about 40 minutes for no reason. It is over priced. The manager is horrible rude. Don’t go there! I won’t spend any $$ place ever again.
I Sammy Fong Architect who help create this Night Club... I am truly thankful for Sammy's faith in the design translation of his desires... it is a "Happening Place" More
RIP Trio, you had a nice long run. Many aren’t sure how you survived so long with your bad business practices,, but finally, the OLCC has decided your fate. 2012-2019.

They charge a cover so you can go sit in an empty club. The people who do hang here are weird. They are supposed to have a "light up floor" but it doesn't work.
This place is suck don’t go there unless you understand their or you want to get stuck there because they don’t do refund. The no refund is in hiding
Great place for young people (21-30) not for old dudes! Or people that are not outgoing. Amazing place to dance and let lose and forget the stress.
I was charged $6.25 for a whiskey sour that was roughly 90% lemon juice. If I had left a tip, I would have asked for it back. Freakin' rip-off...
Service/bartenders absolutely terrible. Paid a cover to wait for a drink for 30 minutes to never be served. Would put zero stars if I could.
Good setup. Ridiculous cover charges (25$ for men, 20$ fo women). Overpriced drinks. Many better alternatives around the area.
Nice spot. Good drinks, friendly service and beautiful people. Only thing, needs to get cracking earlier, I gotta get to bed!
You have to purchase a table if you want to sit. Also don't order fruity drink they have no alcohol. They do have good music.
bar tenders at the main bar were great. The atmosphere and people were a little lame. Seems like nobody likes to dance there
Good music, great atmosphere and even better service! Bartenders were prompt and polite and the food was awesome!
Dance floor is a bit smaller than I anticipated. But, the drinks are great and the bartenders are fantastic.
I love trio because it is a upscale club. The main reason I go here is the karaoke every day from 9pm to 2am
Went there and it was empty all night. The only entertainment was the two ladies making fun of the place.
Drinks are pricey but it's a fun atmosphere. Need to get here early unless you want to stand in line.
Fun place. The best bartender left, good food, fancy but inexpensivr, good drinks.....Miami Vice feel
Delicious food, good cocktails, bartender really wouldn't stop pushing his personal brand of vodka.
Waitress was rude and same songs played repeatedly. Not a good experience. Club was way too empty!
I HATE THIS PLACE AND I HOPE IT GOES OUT OF BUSINESS. GO PEE YOUR OWN PANTS, DRUNK GUYS WITH BMWs.
Hopping on the weekends! Great place to dance. Yummy food. Great KJ for folks who want to sing!
Excellent service and staff. Everything is clean and comfortable. BEST PLACE IN PORTLAND!! ♥
Nice place to go dance I met a cougar there really nice place. good service and good food .
Hadn’t been in years, it’s gotten worse: slower, more boring, sad DJs
Atmosphere: 1
It’s too expensive! The cover charge is ridiculous, $20 for girls?! It’s not VEGAS
Vibe was good here. KJ was friendly and there was a good amount of space to dance.
Great people watching, definetly a local dive in the best possible ways.
Excellent to visit weekdays …
If only Denise the best bartender was still there …
Good place to hangout with friends, dance and have fun!!
The foods and the atmosphere are the top of the world
Expensive, door staff seems a bit gruff for the venue
Terrible food. Terrible service. Never again.
This club is awesome me and friends had fun.
Nice, good dancing, but the DJ wasn't great.
Not impressed at all. Won't be back. …
i love trio! its so fun love the karaoke!
Fun time, fun music, expensive drinks.
Didn't have much going on when I went
Very bad experience”be safe guys
Great atmosphere and good music
Overpriced entry fee and drinks
Place has great food and venue
Fun night out great drinks
I had lots of fun there!
Love your guys food
