The last mughal emperor of India, Bahadur Shah Zafar was exiled to Burma now known as Myanmar after the uprising or war of independence in 1857 (commonly referred to as the mutiny). He died in Rangoon now known as Yangon and was buried there in an unknown location (till 1991) near his wife Zeenat Bibi's grave. Only recently while making an extension for the women's praying chamber, his grave was finally located one floor below. He was a Sufi Saint more than an emperor which was a title only in name as he was not really interested in ruling and his kingdom did not extend beyond the Red Fort in Delhi as most of it was under the rule of the Maratha Peshwas.

Very few people know about the final resting place of the last Mughal emperor, Sultan Bahadur Shah II; it was even difficult for the taxi drivers! This is a must visit if you know about the story of the Indian rebellion of 1857 and the tragic aftermath. While the tomb is small, it's immaculately maintained and quietly elegant. Some of the effects of the sultan and his wife (minus the valuables, which I think are scattered around museums in the UK) are also on display. A very moving tribute.

His grave was lost and was rediscovered on 1911 AD. A mausoleum was constructed in 1994. The king was given a status of saint in his life and his tomb is known as Dargah.

Historical place of the last King of India. The grave of Bahadur Sah Zafahr is found in this Dargah. As India lost her independece, British ruled India and they sent the King of India to Burma. The King lost his thrown and lived under house arest the rest of his life in Yangon (Rangoon). When he and his wife were dead, the bodies were left in the each tomb in this Dargah.

Place of historical significance for many people. The building is small, unassuming, but pleasant and welcoming to people of all backgrounds. There are signs posted about in English to explain the significance of everything, and friendly people willing to help answer any questions and let you explore.

I visited Rangoon (now Yangon, Myanmar) in Burma 2015, July. I pay a visit to last Mughal Emperor saint Bahadur Shah Zafar. There is tomb in side the Dargah. Uper one tomb is fake and the just below one is original. Feel historic to visit there.

Very good place for muslim prayer. A lot of foreigners comes to visit. It is actually a holy site where the tomb of the Empire of India attached to the mosque.
