I live in the Stone Oak (San Antonio, TX) area and so I visit the Stone Oak restaurant quite often (for nearly two years). I have friends who also go there and I have gotten to know the manager and waitstaff there. I want to express my views and appreciation for the employees and the food at that great establishment. My most recent experience there shows how they are "head and shoulders" above the many other restaurants in the area. When I recently discovered a possible discrepancy on a payment for a meal there, I mentioned it to a server at the bar, she immediately brought it to the attention of the manager, Scott Damminga. Scott "dropped what he was doing" and researched the cash register transactions from that night and pinpointed the error and then corrected my members rewards account. He made it a priority, which is very important to me. The server at the bar was Alyssa Castaneda. Her customer service skills and care are consistently outstanding!! She is "quick on her feet" and very attentive. Also, she knows her customers and treats them as though they are the keys to the success of the business. Simply put, customers "love" her. Another cornerstone to the bar there is Liam O'Dowd. He and Alyssa make a great team at the bar and keep the patrons smiling and laughing and coming back. Other standouts at the bar are Tiana Venegas, as well as Kathryn Dent. Both have superb customer service skills and I always know that I will be treated with value and appreciation by both of them. This restaurant is absolutely the "go to" place to dine in the entire area and I am thankful to be able to enjoy the 5-Star food and service there.

This was my first visit to this location of 54th Street Grill and I was pretty impressed! We visited on a Friday evening around 7:00pm, and although it was crowded, we only waited 5 minutes to be seated. They have a huge menu, but we saw they have this 'Dinner for Two' special that includes 1 appetizer, 2 entrees and a dessert for $39 - not a bad price! We started with the fried pickles, which came out hot and were very tasty. My Husband and I each ordered the veggie burger which was also very delicious! One thing I appreciated about this veggie burger was that the patty tasted and looked made-in-house. I am not a fan of those prepackaged patties that come frozen in a box, these had a yummy blend of vegetables, grains and greens and fell a part a little when you took a bite into it (which is a sure sign way you can tell you're eating a more homemade veggie patty vs the processed kind). We then finished off with the salted caramel & chocolate brownie served with vanilla bean ice cream that was SO GOOD and the perfect way to finish a meal! Our waiter was also very attentive and kind. Highly recommend stopping in here for a bite!

The greeter sat us at 8:49p but made us aware due to the weather they were closing at 9:30...understandably. However we asked are they sure they could take another party(3). After assurance it would be fine we were seated and our waitress came to the table, very sweet but forward about us needing to get our order in. So in a slight panic or urgency we ordered before even getting our drinks. 15+mins into waiting a different waiter possibly management came to our table and informed us our food is delayed due the stove being turned off. We were fine as long as the food was going to be served. When our waitress came back to the table shortly after and asked for additional cake as we were there to celebrate my fiancé bday. Our waitress sorry no new orders and walked away. I spent $150 and felt like the quality and service was nothing like I've ever had there in the past and was truly disappointing. I then called the location today to speak with a manager and was encouraged to send an ail via automated voicemail. So, now I'm sharing the experience on Google. Wish a manager could have just took my call.

Food is just ok depending on what you order. I got fish taco platter that was great, my husband got steak that looked like a dry shoe sole. A bit overpriced for what it is. The service has been constantly very very slow. It would take at least 10 min for someone to just stop by to bring water. However, they did improve on that recently. They did try and make it up for the slow service and gave us a 10$ gift card. We tried to use it and couldn’t… appears you can apply it only on appetizer that is 10$. Ok, tried to do a to go order online and included a 10$ appetizer hoping to use the card and … it doesn’t work online. Plus they charge you 20% gratuity for a to go order that you place online and pick up yourself. Gratuity for what?! Service that I do not get?! Anyway, gift card in the trash, not going there again

Impromptu decision to check out @54thstreet for dinner tonight. I had looked them up previously and remembered happy hour ends at 6pm. Alexis took great care of us. I had the Sangria, my husband had the Coors draft, and Dad with the Strawberry Lemonade. We tried their happy hour appetizers - Crab Cakes for $8 and Tequila Wrappers. Both were great, and I was starting to feel full already. Dad and I shared the Full Rack of Ribs, upgraded to sweet potato fries, and mashed potatoes with gravy. We didn't even finish half between the 2 of us! My husband had the Chicken Fried Chicken. Overall, the food was 4 stars, but the service was 5 stars. More food to work through tomorrow.

Stopped by here after some back to school shopping and the place was packed! We were lucky to grab a table by the bar area. We started with some tater kegs and boy did we enjoy those! Definitely worth trying if you have never tried them before. As far for drinks I had a strawberry vodka drink that was really good! For dinner I had a full rack of barbecue baby back ribs, fries and barbecue beans. All of the food was good and I was only able to eat half of my food so I glady took home leftovers. Good atmosphere and great place to catch a sports game. If your in San Marcos and are trying to catch a game or have dinner with your family this is a great place for it. Definitely will be back when I'm in San Marcos.

Really good for, appetizers were great, good portions, my favorite beer was on tap so that was awesome. For as large and hectic as my group was the service was alright. Our waitress was doing her best to attend to us outside while taking care of her other customers inside. It would've been nice if she had help to ensure everyone with us was receiving equal attention but it is what it is, can't blame her for it. I definitely recommend stopping in if you've never been to 54th Street.

Welp , I have officially broken up with 54th Street! Apparently you can get a burger undercooked or downright bone dry. I have gotten it at both extremes. I keep telling myself not to order from here because it’s either a hit or miss but I can recall the few times they actually served an excellent burger. Today the burger was bone dry with Swiss cheese that looked like melted plastic. If I didn’t know any better I’d swear it was a patty left over from a few nights before. Why is there such inconsistency in the quality of the food?!?? Why did I try to renew my faith in this particular restaurant?!?! Am I a masochistic fool?!?!? Sigh….. we are never ever getting back together again…… like never again….

As always, service is quick and perfect. Food comes out hot and fresh every time. Boneless wings came out crisp and extra sauced with extra ranch dip. The fry me some cheese was the issue. The cheese curds were divine. The new spicy sticks were not. Nowhere on the menu did it state jalapenos were inside the mozzarella sticks. As someone who is careful of the acidity I invite into myself, this was an unfortunate surprise. Luckily, the manager Jordan was quick to apologize and remove the item while offering to replace the item. Definitely worth returning with this kind of customer service

Like the Patio..... other than that it was a meh . Hostesses wasn't willing to help you find your group instead go ahead walk around the entire place to find your party. The Caesar wasn't Caesar, didn't even look like a salad more like a Slaw of Caesar. My romaine lettuce died, no crunching, pure wilt. I know it's just Salad but c'mon, how can you mess that up! Calamari had no flavor as it was such skinny rings of calama.... the ri was gone. Had to stop ordering by then but my friend LOVED his food but he loves anything Chicken attached to it. It was his recommendation, so it was a fail. But I'm always so curious why are they so busy. It's the beer, beer was perfect!

Great experience!!! Wish I could go here more often. Our server, Lauren, was the best! She was so patient despite our indecisiveness and she had the best suggestions. The restaurant wasn't too noisy or anything either. Food was great! No complaints. This place is great for all ages! The amount of options they have(specifically for sides) is crazy! It's impossible to not find something you love. I keep a list of mac n cheese ratings. texture- 7/10. consistency- 9/10. cheese- 9/10 overall- 8/10 ! Very good.

Review constitutes two take out orders. First time, they sent us off with the incorrect order. We received the order for another person with the same first name as mine. Benefit of the doubt as they promptly took care of the mistake and the food was outstanding. 5 star despite the mistake. This time around.....1 star. Overseasoned and soggy fries. Stale chips. And worst of all, two dry, shrunken hamburgers as the attached photo shows. Add burnt bun. Not the quality of food from the first visit. Nice people. Inconsistent experiences. Not sure what to think. I come to this place very often with my family because the food and the service are very good but today the service was not pleasant at all. I did not feel comfortable because the person who served us was restless since he brought a box takeaway with which he hit my food without apologizing next to the payment receipt but we still hadn't finished eating and I felt that he was rushing me but the place had many empty tables so it was unnecessary what he did because we just wanted to eat quietly and that It didn't happen, we just got up and left without finishing the food. Those very important points in customer service must be reinforced because a family wants to eat quietly. Thank you

Cool eclectic vibe similar to House of blues or hard rock cafe. The food was excellent and the prices are very reasonable. We could’ve easily shared an entrée after getting the load potato (tater kegs) appetizers. We did not get any adult beverages, but I think they would’ve been good based on what I saw at other tables. The food and the service weren’t very quick even though the restaurant wasn’t nearly full. Which is really my only complaint. That I said, I would definitely return.

This place was fine. We ordered two orders of roasted asparagus, the Brussel sprouts, the sweet potato fries, chicken quesadilla, queso. The quesadilla no queso were better than my wife expected. The chips that came with the queso were ok, a little stale. The sprouts were a bit odd, not so good. The asparagus was pretty good, but way over priced. For our two orders, which were $9 plus tax, we got like 14 spears. So you do the math, almost 75 cents a spear. The sweet potato fries were pretty good.

I recently went for my birthday with a party of 14. Although they do not do reservations they were very accommodating. Our server, (107) Adriana was nice and attentive, my little girl loved having Adriana help us with our food. Adriana was also patient with our children (though they were fairly behaved this visit), and she checked on us often. Food was served fresh off the grill. We eat here from time to time, and the food is generally good (hence, two stars). This most recent time though resulted in a horrific case of food poisoning for my 1 year old and 4 year old. They've been sick for two days now, and can barely keep water down. I'm almost certain the culprit was a side of strawberries. The berries looked questionable and didn't seem like they had been well cleaned. Hindsight, I shouldn't have let my kids touch them -- and it'll be a long while before we visit again.

One of my favorite restaurants not only because service and food are always good but because of the low noise. So many restaurants have poor acoustics and there is so much background noise that it's difficult to have a conversation. Not at this restaurant. This is a beautiful place to eat. Alot of amazing things to look at, the waitress we had was super sweet, even tho she was still pretty new, she was on top of our drinks, the questions we had, and just made the whole experience nice. Pray you don't get a bench seat that connects to another bench seat. The person on the other side if they move you will feel there every move against your seat. When we arrived we heard the table in front of us ask when will we get our food? She said "we are working on it." That should have been my sign to leave but we still ordered. Lt. Dan's Fried Shrimp is the way to go. You get a generous amount of shrimp that is breaded and fried to perfection. I got the asparagus side and it was cooked correctly. Had great flavor and tender, not limp either. I wasn't a fan of the coleslaw because it had green pepper in it. Personal choice, others may like that. It also had apple in it that I found as a nice touch. Overall a great meal. Next time I'll try a different side.

Last night's- July 5th Bartender was a Rockstar! Every drink made was spot on delicious. I actually began trying drinks to see if I would not like them(I would've drank them but mean trying my not so typical stuff) but Every single one was Amazing! Mad Mixology skills! Kudos! Also the appetizers and tortilla soup GREAT.

Haven't had a bad meal yet. Great menu selections. Fried pickle spears are awesome! Smash burger was great. Nice atmosphere.

54th Street Grill & Bar as good homemade food and wonderful service. It was not too busy when we went in for a late lunch. We both got a sandwich and fries, but it wasn't greasy. It was clean and had a fun atmosphere. Hoping we will be stopping by again soon on another trip.

Great service and the food was very warm and tasteful. The environment seems a little dark but comfortable.
