"Went to the theater with only 3 rows of seats and there were no reviews or helpful photos to depict how close the first row is to the screen so I thought I’d add some details for reference! We sat in the front row (see photo) and it is pretty close to the screen however with the reclining seats you get used to the screen being close"

This place was always a little rough around the edges, but even two years ago it was in better shape than it is now. Staff is definitely hustling at rush hour but also kind of just don't seem to care, everything's a bit dirty or unorganized, the bar was closed on a Saturday night, none of the soda machines had ice, most didn't even have coke, and the theater itself was like 80 degrees (it was so warm I was nodding off). It's nice to get the reclining seats obviously, and this theater has the big screens, but when you have an Alamo in Brentwood and two Landmarks elsewhere in DC, especially E Street right at Metro Center, picking AMC Georgetown is a tough value equation.
Nice theater that’s generally clean. Most, if not all, of the theaters have recliners seats. There’s a new option using the AMC app to order food and drinks ahead of time to be delivered to your seat before the show starts. I haven’t tried it yet but it’s a nice option if like me it’s different to carry a drink and snacks. The companion seats next to the wheelchair seating has arms that lift making it easier to transfer to from a wheelchair/mobility aid. The wheelchair seating does NOT have a seat and you are expected to remain in your wheelchair/mobility aid.
This is the filthiest, and most expensive movie theater I have ever been to. The auditorium was not cleaned between screenings, and old napkins and popcorn buckets wee everywhere. In two different women’s rooms, every toilet was clogged with piles of paper towels. When the movie let out, there were no employees anywhere to be seen. I kept wondering if the entire staff walked out that night, which would be the only explanation for the state it was in. Edited: And there was mo A/C, and they refused to even give us anything to fan ourselves with. For $20/person.
Went to the theater with only 3 rows of seats and there were no reviews or helpful photos to depict how close the first row is to the screen so I thought I’d add some details for reference! We sat in the front row (see photo) and it is pretty close to the screen however with the reclining seats you get used to the screen being close. I’d say if you can only get front row seats, just make sure you’re in the middle, otherwise it might be hard to see if you’re sitting on the outer edges of the front row. Hope this helps!
I ordered a pretzel at the concession stand and the girl behind the counter never broke eye contact with her phone. I specifically asked if it would take long, and she whispered, "no." Honestly, 15 minutes later when I asked, there was no acknowledgment, but she walked away and just then started preparing the pretzel, which took, at most, 30 seconds. I missed the first few minutes of the movie. There were a lot of people working there, but was one of the worst service experiences I have ever had.
One word: Filthy. Left over food on sticky seats. When it is summer and +100 degrees out the last thing that makes you relax is thinking of sharing sweat with the stranger who sat there before you. Popcorn everywhere, seats/rooms are clearly not cleaned in between sessions, leftover food on sticky seats. Asked for cleaning wipes, was told they had none. Went to get hand sanitizer: empty. Gross bathroom you do not want to set foot in. I left before the movie started. Never again.
Just okay. Popcorn literally all around concessions, buttery counters, and a sloppy setup. To be fair, maybe I caught them at a busy time, so I'll excuse that as a maybe I got there at a bad time. The concessions kinda rude, like he didn't want to be there. That's fair, but at least act like you care. The bar was the best part because I could tell both the bartender and the manager really cared about the guest. I got my drink and went to the movie. All was okay after that
Everyone one on staff from the gentleman who greeted and scanned tickets, the maintenance people, to the lady at the concessions counter were friendly and helpful. The theater was clean. It would have been nice for them to let us know there would be no ads/trailers before a fan event showing as it made it difficult to know when it would start. The movie and sound were great. They also have Icees and Coca-Cola products, which is an added plus in my opinion.
Ok experience. Out of the DMV area, this is better than Magic Johnson (I wouldn't see a free movie there). Some employees are nice, others seem like they're doing you a favor. The bathrooms are decently clean, the theater does have great seating (huge plus). Parking is still $10 even when validated. With that said, I feel like seeing a movie at a theater should feel like more of an event. Some places go the extra mile. This place lacks that.
The air conditioning in this theater does not work, so don't go unless you want to sit in a stinky, sweaty theater. Don't fall for the AMC "pre-order" concession scam - they will not deliver your food order to you, you will have to hunt someone down to fulfill the order, and they will not refund the "delivery fee" even though they don't deliver your food. Overall, this is an incredibly poorly run movie theater. I do not recommend.
I do feel some workers (cleaners Asian lady of decent was a little racist) other than that I had a amazing solo date to see My Big Fat Greek Wedding. Greeters to concession stands workers were very nice! Food was great and they have the most comfortable seating!! Be aware while other movie theaters validate for free it cost $10 here must be a Dc Amc thing. I will definitely be back just will do street parking for cheaper cost!
They need their AC checked. Definitely didn’t seem like it was working. Lots of staff around, but a lot of them didn’t seem to be doing anything. Concessions worker seemed to be talking to someone else while I was at the counter trying to order. Other staff didn’t seem to realize or care that concessions needed help, or that the people cleaning the theaters also needed help. Needs better AC and better management.
The theater's air conditioning was not cooling in the middle of summer. More importantly, the audio system was awful. I had trouble making out the dialogue while at the same time the sound of the background music and sound effects was painfully loud. Their IMAX screen does not meet my expectation. I have seen other non-IMAX screens in the area nearly the same size. Lastly, the seats in their IMAX theater are old.
Terrible theater. Everything is bad in this theater. The parking garage is awful and the discount they give with validation is pathetic. The staff are terrible, they don't answer your questions, and they are racist too. Also, the theaters themselves are filthy and I once saw a homeless guy in one come into the building. I will be going to the theaters near the Tysons area. Those theaters are 1000 times better.
Saw Barbie here on a Saturday morning. Not crowded, clean, and staff were attentive and pleasant. While we didn't order food for delivery, I did see it in action when a staff member brought someone in our row their popcorn. Sound was great. The temperature was cool. I would recommend this location, especially if going on the early side.
It was freezing in there. I don't think they realize it's time to turn on the heat, and the bathrooms are so far from the theaters on the right. That's a major design flaw but what can you do. Otherwise all in all the seats were comfortable the theater was clean and the food was decent.
Nice small theater with dedicated employees. The girl there showed us the merchandise that you can purchase or use the coins that you purchase to get. I haven't seen the merchandise she was offering at other theaters so we were surprised. Will definitely go back to check merchandise.
I saw a movie here last weekend. It was fine and it was cheaper than expected for a city, especially in DC. About $10 a ticket so I was okay with it. Good reserved seats but some of the seats didn't recline so I had to switch (luckily there were not many people).
Great! It’s very well laid out, bathrooms are located just outside theaters for when you drank a little too much during the movie, the service people are nice, it’s a big theater, and has good temperature at all times!
