I’m a movie guy so when I was in DC and saw there was a Regal I had to go see a couple shows. Overall it’s a grand theater in the middle of Chinatown. There’s a metro right on the corner so easy access from anywhere in the city. They are obviously post-covid operating as the tickets are sold at the concession stand. I bought my tickets online so I was able to skip the line for one of the movies. However, I did want to get snacks for a different show and I was inline behind everyone buying tickets. Thankfully someone opened a second line and I was able to pop right over. The seats were a little worn, but still comfortable. They were reclining seats which I really enjoy. Overall a nice theater and a total recommendation if you’re a movie buff like me.
This theater was supposed to close several months ago and its a tragedy that it didn't. Went to see Oppenheimer in 70mm (which we paid extra for) but the projector was broken. Unfortunately this was the least of our problems. It was 97 degrees out and even hotter in the theater since the AC was also broken. One of the speakers in the theater was broken. The water fountains were broken. It was so hot people were leaving in the middle of the movie covered in sweat. Staff was rude and said we could buy their $6.92 water. I was covered in bits of the chair when I left. This was not the way Christopher Nolan wanted us to see the movie.
The place is garbage. Never enough people working the concessions stand, so you’ll wait forever if there’s more than a couple people seeing a movie at the same time as you. Then there were a HALF HOUR OF COMMERCIALS before the previews started. It absolutely killed the excitement in the room. The seats are so old and so bad that the fake leather crumbed off and stuck to our skin. Just so gross. It was uncomfortably hot… I’d estimate that they had the thermostat set at about 78. I’ll never come back here.
They’ve integrated their Box Office with their concession stand and also have kiosks to buy tickets. The kiosks function poorly (having to tap the screen over and over to get make selections) neither the kiosk or the Box Office/Concession have Apple Pay/digital payment methods available. While purchasing tickets online adds a $2 convenience fee. Their changes are inconvenient and cost customers more while offering less.
Yo yo I want to give a s/o to the staff at this movie theater, I walked in was instantly greeted w/ an smile and good vibes from the young lady behind the counter Tatiana, Kevin, and the guy with the unique hair and name was happy to assist me and my wife tonight , I would definitely recommend this location for my family and friends to come .. thank you guys for the amazing movie & customer service!!!!!!
The movie was good. I have nothing else positive to say about this theater. Both women’s bathrooms were gross. No toilet paper AT ALL in either. Told an employee…they were completely unconcerned. In addition, they have very few of the items that were listed on the menu. Overall, even thought I enjoyed the 4DX experience, I won’t be returning.
I've enjoyed movies here for many years and never reviewed.. Like most of DC it's infested with rodents but theirs have become bold enough to run across the floor while the movie plays.. I almost tossed it done popcorn.. ♀️ I'll probably start going to Bethesda.. My advice, don't put your belongings on the floor! …
The cinema is conveniently located near the Chinatown Metro station. They offer popcorn, beer, chicken tenders, burgers, candies and other refreshments at the concession stand to enjoy during the show. The seats recline and I enjoyed watching Wakanda Forever at this theater.
This movie theater is grand. It is conveniently located in China Town. The scenery is gorgeous. There are plenty of places to eat and to hang out and get a drink. Enjoy a movie and night out on the town. Capital One Arena is right next door.
