"TLDR at the end I have been to this location at least a dozen or so times"
"Truly one of the worst movie experiences I have ever had"
Tamika was so rude… we paid $75 for movie tickets and $38 on snacks. Now I’ve been working in this mall for years as well as living in the area… this is unacceptable. we missed the first 20min of the movie dealing with the security in the grey suit and then get to the concession stand and Tamika didn’t greet us. We started asking her questions and she was clearly annoyed by the fact that we were asking her questions. So to try to ease her attitude and get better service. My aunt asked her how she was doing today. She responded “fine.” And continue to look at her screen, We then tried to use my aunts AMC account and she wasn’t able to find it in the middle of her typing it in, my mom asked her if she could add ICEE onto our check. She never responded when my mom asked again she replied, short and rudely “I heard you” to which my mom replied “how would I know if you didn’t respond to me the first time” she ignored her. my mom then asked for a cup that we were paying for so that my brother could go ahead and get his drink. she ignored her and never passed her the cup. Nevertheless, we finally got our snacks & our cups. Made it to the movie and after the movie was over we got an opportunity to speak to the manager so that my aunt could sort out her AMC account and security informed us that Tamika was complaining about having to assist us at the concession as if she even made any kind of eye contact with us. She barely spoke a word! And whatever she did say, was dry and rude without ever looking up from her computer screen. But to be talking about customers, knowing that you gave poor service is CRAZY. Knowing you were dry nasty and unwelcoming. And then try to act like you couldn’t search the email and answer a yes or no question at the same time you maybe should not be working the concession stand or any customer service job for that matter regardless, I wanted to make sure that I came back and left this review, because after speaking with security, she double down on her bad service by speaking negatively about people, she was supposed to help politely to begin with. NOT RIGHT. And affected our night out at the movies.
I was there to see the release of the new Mario movie with my two children. Upon arrival everything goes well. We enter the theater to take our seats. There is a group of very young children there whose parents dropped them off and left. I tell my kids no big deal let's find empty seats. Well obviously it was made a big deal by the family I guess who seats we were in. They go get the manager unbeknownst to me and in walks this very angry, disgruntled and rude man a big man. Who then begins to make a scene and call me ignorant because I refused to make a group of children move from my seats. Okay after this very rude manager interrupted the movie of course I want my money back. He then put those group of children out of the theater without any supervision. I ask for his boss and unbeknownst to me I was speaking with his boss. She seen his behavior and heard him being very rude . She did nothing but apologized. Meanwhile there are unaccompanied children in the lobby in this big mall. Needless to say I did get my money back for the movie and my snacks and they gave me free movie passes as if I really want to experience that type of treatment again. There is video's on my tktok and instagram of his rudeness and his bosses lack of concern for the situation until I mentioned I was a social worker and would report them for child endangerment.
Had the worst movie night of my life me and my wife had a night out to the amc movie theater to watch a movie sense we had found out their was a 4$ movie promotion the cashier omy slim dark skinned guy with a brush cut completely ruined me and my wife’s night he started off buy telling me he did it know the sizes of the popcorn after I asked him what was a shareable size for 2 .Then I asked random couple walking past what size were their bag of popcorn to get a visual, when I turned around omy had walked away and lifted us standing their a few minutes then later he came back and said .y’all stupid go to someone else I then said I’m stupid for not knowing your sizes and this is my first time here he waved his hand and yelled next and told me bye bra . Then his manager was even worse he told us theirs nothing he could do about the disrespect and it is what it is now are you gonna buy something because it’s been a long day then before I could complete my order he said u sure u just don’t want a refund his name was Kevin i just decided the best thing for me ito do is leave. I normally don’t do this or take things this far but the way we were treated I’m gonna be calling corporate and filling a complaint then writing a letter to the mayor. And I’m never coming back again my first experience their has traumatized me .
TLDR at the end I have been to this location at least a dozen or so times. I am an avid supporter of movie theaters. This location has great seats. Clean enough theater. Friendly staff. So what's wrong??? They water down the ever-living-heck out of their soda from the freestyle machines. I thought coke did quality control on stuff like this? It's so incredibly obvious the lack of syrup going into your cup. Every single soda here tastes like carbonated water, with a splash of syrup. It is like this every single time I go. Massive difference in taste from bottled coke, canned coke, and let's say literally any QT fountain sodas. It's pretty pathetic considering how much they charge for a soda. It's a sign AMC is on lifesupport (if their stock ticker wasn't enough of an indication). I'm sure some business/accounting degrees sat around trying to salvage what's left of their horribly debt-ridden company, and someone had the bright idea to reduce the amount of syrup product going into the soda to cut costs, but also maintain the same prices.... brilliant! I will be sneaking in my own soda from now on. TLDR Watered down soda. Sneak in your own or be satisfied with watery soda for 8 bucks for a large.
Truly one of the worst movie experiences I have ever had. The directions take you to a hotel (AC Hotel by Marriott) that is approx 3/4 of the mall around the mall from the theater. Then no air whatsoever in the theater (6) our movie was in. We asked a Manager 3xs to please check the air in our theatre between my husband & myself and it never turned on. Then when we went to the restroom before we left & the bathroom was a disaster with trash everywhere. Truly the worst experience I've ever had. Also it said online it was a Fork n Screen AMC theatre it is NOT. It is a regular movie theatre like the one in the town we live in so a complete waste of time and $60 (2 adult tickets, large popcorn & large drink). So do not waste your time, energy or $ on this experience! And I know it was not only us bc we had 3 other couples stop us asking directions & is there parking there at theatre.
2023-7 Update: Still a great movie theater. Prices still high but it’s a nice step between movies at home and a live concert. Parking is great with no fees once you’ve made it into the shopping g center parking garage. Assigned seating is nice for the big releases. Sound system is still thunderous…. For me a little to thunderous eat points. Fun outing with the family. 2020 review: First class theater designed to pamper the viewer. Huge, fully reclining seats grouped in pairs seems to be the layout. Great sound system. Fourteen theaters of various sizes from about 50 seats to over 200 depending on the demand of the movie. This theater has flexible pricing, but appears to be about a dollar more than other movie theaters around the area. Very clean, great variety of concessions and staff.
I normally frequent the AMC on Cobb pkwy however was redirected to this location when booking a private screening. That process was painless. However upon arriving to this theater the adolescents didn’t know anything I repeatedly showed them my confirmation however they were still clueless, finally after repeating myself 10x I was given my theater # . The concession area DOES NOT MAKE SENSE , the most backwards setup I’ve ever seen. When trying to purchase snacks the adolescents working were playing & goofing around, like they had been doing the entire time, I did not see an actual adult, so I left. ♀️ definitely needs to be a mature adult on the floor at all times, smh.
Best seats in town with reclining seats. The massive screen is a great surprise. Self check in at the kiosk at the location - I bought tickets at the kiosk- took me 30 seconds. Prints out 6 slips unnecessarily. Just 2 slips are tickets. I was trying log on to my stub but the app never works. The agent at the counter couldn’t solve this beast. I never go the points the 3rd time now. Tip: If you book tickets online there is a $2 service fee. I would buy at the Kiosk (works like an ATM machine). Save the $2. Please pick up your trash ! Lots of parking and please note your parking spot. Theatre is on the top level. I would take the accelerators it’s just quicker.
I went to go catch a movie and I had a good time gotten the best customer Service from Terrace the Manager deserves a raise by the way he was very helpful and gave me the ultimate customer Service goes out of his way to deliver the best customer service he can do I truly felt like a VIP Queen and the royal carpet was rolled out just for me so I want to say congratulations on customer Service good job thank you from the VIP Queen herself all five stars across the board
This isn't a good location for a movie theater and the set-up inside was very confusing. For parking, I recommend parking on level 3 by an escalator or elevator by Monarch Court. The theatre itself is on the top level, level 5, by LegoLand, but there are very few signs and directions so give yourself a few minutes to find it. The concessions area is horribly set-up. It's not clear at all where or how to order or where to pick-up your order. The seats are not actually stadium seats. I didn't have a good experience here.
We decided to attend the first showing of Plane on a Sunday to avoid any crowds. The auditorium was nice and clean. The young man Christian ( concession stand) was so kind and professional and even assisted me with getting the cheese and jalapeño peppers since no one was behind the grab & go counter. He delivered service with a wholesome smile . We'll definitely be back to this theater. FYI- Nachos were alittle pricey but very good and worth it. Thanks Christian for making my first experience a great one
I typically go to the Taphouse in Sandy Springs and was very let down by this AMC. I expected that its location plus the cost of the ticket would mean it's even nicer than the Taphouse, but I was wrong. They have leather seats that recline, but no heat. Their signs on the seats identifying row/seat number are not illuminated, so you have to use your phone flashlight. The selection of food available is also terrible. Only giving it 3 stars because it was the only theater in the area that was showing Crossroads
Not bad, the theatre inside is not very clean with popcorn between the seats and on the floor, and we went to the early show! People don't pick up after themselves either which is weird. The lobby is boring and it's there are too many lines to get what you want and the popcorn is filled to the line or just below where normally it's stacked above the box line. Lots of drinks to choose from and the movie screen was a good size, sound was excellent and the seats were recliners.
A really nice theater, nice decor and an efficient layout that lets people get in and out easily. The theaters feature reclining easy - chair style chair that even have extendable footrests, providing the most comfortable movie watching experience. The downside of this is that those seats take up a lot of space, so the theaters don't seat many people resulting in more sold out shows than at other theaters. Check before showing up, especially if the movie is new or popular!
Excellent customer Service I have Received from this person named Christian deserves a raise by the way he went out of his way to give me the ultimate customer Service the very best rolled out the red carpet treatment for this VIP Queen treatment like myself Congratulations Are in order so thank you very much I appreciate it very much also thanks all five stars across the board Very Cool
No one wants to get sick while going to the movies, but that’s what you get at this AMC. Two others and I visited this location, purchased candy, soda, and popcorn. By the end of the two hour film all of us were suffering from stomach issues. I think it’s most likely the drink fountains, but it could be the popcorn maker. Either way, I’ll find a different theatre to attend if it means I won’t be running to the bathroom for the next two days.
I went early in the day to avoid any crowds so everything was very clean and there was no wait for any snacks. The staff was friendly as well. They will also give you a sticker to redeem your free refill on a large popcorn so it wasn’t a hassle to get my refill during the movie. Seats were very comfortable and they have booster seats for kids near the theater entrance so I didn’t have to chase anyone down to obtain one.
Awful service. First of all, the man who took my ticket on Tuesday at ~12pm acted as if he’d never read a ticket before in my life. I had to tell HIM where my theatre and seats were he was so confused. Also the wait time to get food/drinks?? Terrible. Especially when this theatre is in such a high-end shopping plaza. But I guess they just had a bad staff the day we came through. All in all, not worth the hassle.
Lazy boy lounge chairs are amazing. Watched a 3 hour movie in comfort. Sound mixing in the theater was unbalanced. Multiple times it was just too loud, especially considering the size of the theatre. Drinks being self-serve is smart, reduces staff. But the experience feels de-personalized, less of an event. Not worth the $19 admission price. My home theater is much better.
I love the recliner seats, but this place is starting to go down hill. It smells so bad walking down the hall to get to my theater. The time before this one I was in theater 4 and I had to use the ladies room during the movie. There was a mix of so many smells, almost like a gym that never gets cleaned. They need new carpet. One positive is that the bathrooms were clean
I had difficulty finding where to park near the theater. It was night. Saw no signage. Park near Arhaus entrance. Staff told me there was a sign. After leaving, saw it was way way high up & not lit. Snack selection disappointing. Nothing gourmet considering it's a high end mall but nice a bar with alcoholic cocktails & reclining chairs in theater ️
First time there and took us a minute to find it since it was 11pm. We wanted nachos and there weren't any. The reclining chairs were amazing though! I was able to watch in comfort and knowing that we had our chairs reserved was even better. Popcorn bucket could've used a bit more Popcorn but overall it was okay. Not bad but could've used some cleaning.
The theater was nice the chairs are recliners. The areas are clean. You can enjoy yourself there with some good food options pizza, chips and dip options and popcorn. It mostly self-serve everything. The lines get lengthy waiting on your food. I believe they should have more employees that serve you or help move things along for a better experience.
The reclining chairs were nice but the theatre was extremely hot! They need to turn up the air. If you have never been here before it was extremely difficult to figure out how to get to the actual movie theatre especially at night. I think we walked around the parking garage for 30 minutes trying to figure it out bad design with not enough signs.
I love that they have the real recliner chairs and you're not right on top of the person in front or behind you. Unfortunately you can't order dinner from your seat, you purchase your food in the lobby before showtime and they'll deliver it to your seat. Mediocre movie theater food.... but it's usually clean. Crowded on weekends of course.
For such a bougie place the popcorn was impressively bad. Very comfy seats but, damn. Do better for 17 dollars a person... I think everyone can agree concession snacks are a huge part of a movie theatre experience and we paid for cold popcorn that had been sitting out. ♀️ YES, I'm salty...but the popcorn could have used some. …
Excellent theatre seating. Clean restrooms. Pleasant staff. Everything automated now but two popcorns and one drink for 28.00 seems excessive. We easily spent more than 50 for a matinee outing. But still, I love the big screen experience now and then; I hope it endures the new economy. Imagine taking a family of four to the movies.
I love this place. I haven't been to the movies here in many years, but now it's my go to theater. The reclining seats are awesome. Everything is automated from the ticket purchase to ordering snacks. That moves things along so much faster. The mall itself is jmpressive, so leave some time to eat and browse around after the movie.
I love this theater. We saw Wakanda forever here and it was amazing, the sitting was great the food was good and fresh and we could see every scene of the movie. The movie experience was so great I wanted to see it again. I highly recommend seeing any movie that you are excited about seeing at this AMC location.
We visited last weekend when in Atlanta for my husband work event. It was a really nice theater!! There is a bar right after you get in and you are able to take things from the bar into the movie. Also the seats recline and were very comfy!! Where we are from we don't have a cook theater like this!
This theatre was nice the seats were comfortable and the popcorn was warm. The employees were helpful and pleasant. P.s please change the cheese back to the one in the little red container the new covid cheese is horrible. I used to love the AMC nachos but I can't order them with this new cheese.
We went here Sunday to see Avatar for our anniversary. We enjoyed the theater, but the movie made the experience. Been wanting to see part 2 since part one came out. My only complaint was getting to the theatre. There is an elevator but it was our 1st time so we didn't know exactly where to go.
Typical AMC theatre, reasonably clean, large concession area. However dont trust their food delivery o your seat service. After mine was 15 minutes late I went to get it myself. Disappointing, especially since they charge extra for that. If you found this review helpful, please thumbs-up. :)
Thank you so much to the AMC worker who was cleaning theatre 11 after the 6pm Oppenheimer show on 7/25 for helping me find my lost phone!! I forgot to ask for his name, but my phone was wedged behind the seats and he got on the floor to retrieve it for me!! Thank you so much for you help!
Been to this cinema before and had a perfect experience. This time though, the speaker system was way to loud. So loud that I could barely make out the words. Went home feeling like I'd been to a metal concert and stood right by the speakers. Lol added to my lifetime of hearing damage.
I would never come back to this location. The staff were extremely rude, it's not surprising that movie theaters are dying out with customer service like this. Teach your staff to respect your customers, I'll be discouraging others from coming here as well. Very unprofessional.
Phipps theatre was great! My first movie in ATL. Garage parking was perfect due to the poring rain trying to see BarbieTheMovie. Large comfy lounge seats that made you feel at home. Some people were very comfortable by taking their shoes off. Not great if your feet smell …
Make sure you pay attention to where you park, you can easily waste half an hour looking for your car in the parking deck. And plan an extra 10 minutes for finding the theatre within the mall if its your first time. Popcorn is setout in buckets under warmers and not so great.
Overall, good. But they offer popcorn refills, but they don't have an easily recognized place or way to do that. Was able to get someone to help, but at that time, you were in a hurry and didn't need to waste time with no process to follow.
Good quality movie theatre. Tickets are often very cheap. Seats are decent too. It’s nice that you can purchase the specific seats ahead of time. They have a wide selection of food and snacks to purchase. Overall, you get what you pay for.
Clean restrooms. Friendly staff. Comfortable seating. But, I prefer visiting theaters where I can park directly in front. Parking garage, elevator, walk through the mall, then escalator. Wow! It's too complicated getting into this theater.
Really nice theater with luxury seating and pretty clean . Really love it and very nice service too . I would recommend it because it's the nicest AMC around and it's in the middle of buckhead and convenient to be here while in phippps .
Always a great place to view a movie. Reclining seats and cocktails make for a visual experience. Audio and great graphics enhance the storyline. Located in the mall and yes parking can be a challenge, but be patient it's worth the wait
This is Fay, she is awesome and a great bartender at MacGuffins bar and lounge in the movie theater. She didn't even mention she wasn't ready to serve yet. Gave me what I asked for and was very attentive. I highly recommend!! …
WENT TO WATCH FAST 9 IT WAS AWESOME WE ARE AMC A LIST MEMBER SO IT WAS BUY ONE GET ONE FREE DISCOUNT ON OUR FOOD THE SEATS WAS EVERYTHING I LOVE THIS AMC THANKS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED ❤WE EAT PIZZA AND CURLY FRIES
First time here and it was a great experience however the female with the red hair at the concession register needs a short customer service class. The gentleman at the bar was very nice and personable.
Phipps is on another level. We saw know saggy pants... no kids running around unsupervised. The service was impeccable. The reclining seats were amazing. And the flat bread pizza was absolutely nuts!!
Theater #3 was clean. Snack stand was out of cheese, so I couldn't get nachos. The bathroom had 2 sinks out of soap, 2 paper towel racks out of paper towels, and one that motion sensor barely worked.
The management needs to fix broken chairs! At least 2 chairs on my row were broken. I enjoy the large screens and the surround sound but sitting in a broken chair doesn’t add to the enjoyment.
It was a very nice theatre in great condition. I had a hot dog and it wasn’t that bad. Also, they have the best icee machine you can pick your flavor and get a refill once the film is over.
Very clean and comfortable. I do suggest you don't go to the movies tired. A guy was snoring loud. everyone in the theater was laughing. I guess the seats made him feel at home …
Had an enhanced cinematic experience while watching a movie in this extremely comfortable theatre.... with plush seats, super sound quality, and perfect ambiance.
Easily the best movie theater in atlanta. I'm an amc stubbs member, so two free movies a week, two large drinks and a popcorn every visit make it worth the cost
Wonderful venue to host a movie premiere. The staff was very accommodating and the place was cleaned thoroughly and ready to receive guests. Awesome job!
My favorite movie theater. The reclining seats are huge. Getting food takes an eternity but that's the only issue at this theater.
Love to watch a movie in this theater!! It’s always clean, the seats are cushy and they generally have a good selection of films.
Really nice theater with amenities, a bar! And other things. The theater was clean and the seating is extremely comfortable!
We love, love going to the movies at Phipps Plaza 14! Always clean and smelling fresh! Popcorn always hot and fresh!
It was my first time visit to this location. The place was clean. Seats is comfortable. Will visit again
Access by the parking is little confusing, but the place itself is a great one. Enjoyed the movies!
Great seats and environment........food and drinks double the price of other amc theaters though
My favorite theater love the reclining chairs they have a bar and great customer service
The movie theater is a clean and great atmosphere. Bring a sweater it can get cold.
I had a great first AMC experience there. It was very clean! Highly recommend.
Great atmosphere... they have a bar and actual food, recliners, and very clean
Great place to see a film. The chairs are to confirm, I always fall asleep.
Nice reclining seats. Clean theater. Good environment.
Good recliners. The snack counters were inviting!
Great movies and chairs. It’s insanely expensive
