Absolutely wonderful caring people. I called to see if they had any appointments or availability for some new brakes, the guy asked if I could make it there within 20 minutes and I said yes and drove there. literally within 5 minutes they immediately diagnosed the problems with my car. These were very serious issues (life threatening) that other places I had previously been to hadn't caught before. Ultimately I ended up deciding to get a new car, as I felt my old car had reached its time and cost anyway. He explained everything, didn't pressure me and didn't charge me anything because he understood my situation and he was an honest man. Literally the most HONEST KINDEST and knowledgeable guy ever, I wish I had caught his name. I recommend this place to anyone with any car issue. Akin is the most knowledgeable professional mechanic that I ever had. I started working with Akin many years ago and still his shop is my final destination for my cars. Recently my son bought a 2005 BMW 325i. The next day after purchase, his car died . Although I put a brand new battery for his car but he had to jump his car every day. I took it to Akin and after couple of hours he called me and said “ I found the problem, I just changed a couple of fuzzes and your car is ready to go”!!!! I was waiting for a long list of problems and a big bill. He didn’t even charge me for the diagnose and fuzzes. Obviously, He was able to charge me but his generosity and kindness send us home with another great experience. I highly recommend Akin for any type of car specially European vehicles.

Akin's is amazing. I don't think I have been to any business, especially an auto repair shop, with this level of support. I visited them last year to repair my brakes, and they did an amazing job. A year later, it turns out I got a bad set of rear pads, and my dealership brought it to my attention. The dealer led me to believe Akin didn't switch them. Turn's out; Akin did, the dealership was just looking for more business. I called Akin after my dealership appointment, they ordered the parts same day, and got me in first thing the following morning (they offered same day, I couldn't make it). They replaced the pads, worked the rotors, and flushed the brake fluids...FREE OF CHARGE. Akin has a customer for life. All my cars will go there from now on. Thank you!

I would not hesitate to send my mother to this repair shop. She did go to get her AC compressor replaced on an older car. The cost was about 60% of the mechanic she normally would see. They explained the cost of the various parts to her over the phone. I was able to see how her go to repair shop may have been trying to take advantage of her. The car was done in one day and the AC worked great. Fast forward a few months and a minor issue came up. I called them up and explained the problem with what I thought happened based on what I saw when looking at her car. The situation was handled without issue in a timely manner. I came in for a oil change for the first time and with what I thought was a check engine light. One of the brothers told me was just a tire pressure light. Honest and didn't try to play me. They even offered to put on my license plates front and back for free no extra charge, refilled my wiper fluids and pumped my tires. The shop is very clean service was quick. The best experience I've ever had with a mechanic.EVER. I moved to California from out of state so I didn't know anyone. I did a Google search for the best rated mechanic near. Aki's place come up right away . Not the highest amount of people but all 5 stars. My experience reflected the same. Aki was fast(same day service) did Not overcharge based on my knowledge and another Google search. Also he checked in with my daughter who is the primary driver of the vehicle and advised her to check the oil more often because of this cars specific model history. He was so kind and professional. I have been to Akin's Auto Repair 3 times for an 2006 Acura TSX, each time with an excellent result. 1. Find and repair leak in A/C. Another auto repair shop had failed to discover the leak. This repair was made over a year ago and the A/C has worked fine ever since. The car was returned the same day. 2. Alternator Replacement. The car was returned the same day. 3. Power Steering Pump replacement and oil leak repair. Car repaired within 24 hours. The shop floor is very clean and well organized. The parking lot is an enclosed area. The charge for labor is most reasonable. The manager is straight forward and honest.

Akin and his brother are by far the best mechanics in the whole Bay Area. These guys do excellent work and do it at the best possible price. On top of that, they make you feel like you're in great hands. I've been taking my cars to them ever since their old location and I will follow them wherever they go. I called Akin’s in the middle of the week, desperate because one of my brakes was scraping the rotor. I decided i needed to do both the back brakes a rotors. Akin’s had the parts, told me no one was there at the moment, and the price was way better than any other place. As i waited for my car to be done, then owner or manager (i’m guessing) checked in on me twice. It was a Great experience and they helped me out a ton because i was soon going to travel a great distance with my car. I ended up paying $280 for both of my back tires brakes and rotors. Driving felt like new.

I have a 5 year old Jeep Cherokee and used Akin's services twice: 1. several months ago he helped with changing my car's suspension struts, 2. Recently changed the thermostats which solved my check-engine-light-on issue. Both experiences are super great for me. Great Shop! Clean. Like a shop should be. Newest equipment and expert tecs. Even the waiting room was superb. Had a trani and transfer case fluid change. The pan was bent and they straightened it for me. They could have said I need a new one, made more money and told me to come back tomorrow. It took longer to get the additive required for my Jeep than expected. Akin Was more than fair about this. He gave me a discount for the wait. And the jobs were still completed before 2. As someone with a background as a heavy equipment mechanic, it takes a lot for a shop to impress me. I generally prefer to work on my own stuff, but no longer having a place with a lift has made some things just too inconvenient for me to do. Fortunately, I was able to find this gem of a shop. I’ve had 3 separate vehicles serviced here since I moved to the area in 2017 (soon to be 4), one of which is an older BMW, and Akin’s is almost always able to handle things quickly and under budget. Would not hesitate to recommend them.

ands down the best mechanic experience I've ever had. When looking at all the 5 star reviews, you can't help but be skeptical of their legitimacy. I can assure that they are all accurate. I was able to make an appointment for brakes and roaters and they were even able to get me in early. When my car was done I knew I wasn't being nickeled and dimed; they even recommended me to not get a service because it was a waste of money. My battery died on me late at night. A friend helped me jump it the next morning and this place with the closest and had the best reviews. I called and they let me come in right away even though they were fully booked. The guy who helped me was really friendly and funny, and I was in and out of there within an hour. It’s worth mentioning that the guy told me it’s not normally that fast without an appointment, but as a busy college student I really appreciate how quick and easy their service was.

One of the best mechanics I’ve ever taken my car to. Oil change is reasonably priced (under $60 most visits). During each oil change, they also do an entire check of your car’s fluids, tire pressure and other general things that help keep your car running. Noah, the guy usually running the front desk, is always polite and transparent with whatever issue your car may have. Definitely recommend these guys if you’re looking for a trustworthy mechanic.

This was the second time I came here, the first he could have charged me a diagnostic fee, but didn't. Just said my battery cable was loose. I made a note to go back because of his honesty and great service. This time my ABS light would come on and off, so I figured something was wrong. They found out it was a wheel bearing that was bad. They replaced it the same day and my Jeep is running as normal now. I would highly recommend!

I took my 2002 Mercedes SL500 in April 2020 for an alternator replacement. The Akin brothers were so nice and knowledgeable and just chatting with them I felt confident they knew what they were doing. They are a small family owned business and their shop is impeccably clean! The parts and labor charges were very reasonable and they repaired my alternator and oil change the same day! Went in for an oil change and an inspection since I was worried my car needed costly repairs and new brakes. Most reasonably priced service my 2015 BMW had been through. Good communication and honest inputs. They replace with original parts and use BMW recommended oil n stuff. I was sure that the bearing of my mini van was worn. So, I visited Akin's to replace them. But after the inspection, the owner told me "who said that bearing has issue?", and I said "me"... Akin's is the best mechanics in downtown San Jose area, honest and fair. The only drawback is they do not work on hybrid or EV.
