We wanted to use our AAdvantage points to book a post-pandemic flight. However, buyer beware! We didn't have quite enough points on the account to make the flight we wanted, so the web site tells you to Buy a few more to make up the difference. OK. We get a quote..... Wow, to buy the extra points (we had about 1/2 what we needed) we needed to put in $1,451.00. So I checked Expedia. The exact flights were $753, without the Mileage points. WHAT? Our solution, go with the Expedia offer and shred the AAdvantage card. What a ripoff.

I literally have 100k miles in 2017 and none were on AA. I began trying them again this year, 2018, and EVERY SINGLE FLIGHT HAS BEEN A MESS. Late leaving causing lost connections, then apathy at the counter to accommodate their own screw ups. Mechanical issues on planes, with 1 he waiting.... no GPU AC... people literally using the safety cards as fans.... I have an AA advantage card that says customer since 1994.... and guess what ... I will stick with BA and Lufthansa going back and forth to Europe. Bye AA!

I have always been a lover of American Airlines, but today our flight got delayed 4 times! We were flying in from San Jose to Phoenix and my 1 yr. old niece was not having it. And its honestly a bummer that you have to pay for all of your luggage, you can only have 1 bag that fits under by the feet! Those rates add up!!!! Also, although there are angry customers about the delay, American Airline staff should not be rude to the customers when needing help.

Super unhappy with the service here. I was forced to check a bag because there was no room. This decision was based on an arbitrary number of roller bags that the airplane could hold. It seems to me that they could do what other airlines do and gate check bags that actually don't fit, instead of relying on a number. Oh and there was room for at least three more bags.

NEVER check your bag with American and expect it to arrive at your destination. They claim my bag was “stolen” because they can’t find it even though it was scanned into SJ airport. They were not helpful and did not seem to care that I can’t afford to replace the items in this bag. This was my first time flying with American, and I will never fly American again.

We have a CitiBank American Airlines platinum card where we are SUPPOSED to get a free checked bag. Because my husband didn't travel with me, they charged me $30!!! Even though I am also on the account (he is the primary), I was charged, this, undeserving of the benefit! Misogyny at it's worst. FYI, had we traveled together, we would have gotten 2 free bags!

This Airline always cancel his flight and when rebook our tickets this airlines say we rebook your tickets when he going for bording they say your tickets is not booked and his employees say we book already and thay employes always lies you. This Airlines is soo sad.

American Airlines from your on and off tarmac delays, lack of information provided to customers, uncomfortable seating, slow Wi-Fi, dirty seat pockets, high ticket prices, lost baggage and some poorly trained staff, you only get one star for eventually getting me home. You need to do better for your customer and employees.

Terrible customer service. I flew here on American. They denied my pet to fly out. I have a 20lb dog in a carrier rated for up to 25lbs. I fly once a month. Have never had issue before. Woman behind the counter was on a power trip. No customer service. Delta had zero issue. Guess I will be switching airlines. Go Delta.

I have never waited to check in my bags for so long!! And it was literally because of one woman! She was working with 1 couple for 25 minutes without rushing anything on the PRIORITY LANE! I thought priority was supposed to be fast. They really tried to make Delta look like a better airline today.

The guy at the ticket counter is Unbelievably RUDE. I arrived an hour before my flight, less ~3 minutes, the place was empty, no rush, yet he never stopped yelling at me the entire time he checked my luggage. He should be fired, not exaggerating. Horrible 1st experience with American Airlines.

The American employees and Staff were nice. The plane schedule is miserable. A 30 minute delay leaving SJ caused 120 paying flyers to miss flights in Pheonix. Plane arrived as gates were being closed to Columbus, cabo, charlotte, etc. End up being 5 hrs late into Columbus.

Really bad experience in counter today, the attendant was Unprofessional ,she was too slow cause my fly got missed, I really wish her can be efficient help everyone,specially for late check in passages. Slowly waste time providing bad customer services was so shameful !!!

Absolutely useless. AA cancelled our flight, booked us to a completely different airport scheduled 8 hours later, and charged for a check in bag. Susan was the most incompetent and confused check in person in their company. Would not recommend flying from here.

I have had pretty good luck with Americans! I know quite a few people that have had negative experiences but that has not been my experience. My experience has been one that is similar to most airlines. The seating can be a little cramped

The most horrible airline in the US. Due to their 4 hour delay we lost out connecting flight to Hawaii. To put the cherry on the top, they also lost our luggage which they delivered the next day at evening.

Sudden change of seat, sudden change of gate. Then, flight delay for 2 hours. Missed connection, had everyone sleep in airport for 12 hours for next flight. Could not recommend.
