I have used this jeweler twice in a span of a few years, both times for the purpose of repairing/refurbishing wrist watches. The first time I asked that a piece willed to me by my later father in law be refurbished, crystal changed, dial and case cleaned. He returned me the watch some time later with the newly installed crystal scuffed. When asked about the damage the owner became agitated and confrontational. I paid and walked out thinking if I had more time I should of taken the watch to Toronto for repairs. The second time I brought in a watch that had to have its indices re attached , In the conversation with one of the owners I advised that if possible could they apply some glue to the back to reattach a little more firmly, advising I was a very active person. . Some time later I went to pick up the watch . Upon inspection I noticed a blue smudge by the 11 oclock marker, when I questioned the owner in regards to the damage he became agitated , stated it was caused by the excess glue being removed. I advised that the resale of the watch was impossible he advised the watch was worthless anyway. (Watch U Seek F71) This so called Horologist, seems to believe the worth of your property is inconsequential to him and his craftsmanship very questionable. I recommend from my experiences , use another jeweler whom actually cares.

I'm not one to typically write poor reviews but in this case I felt it was important to do so. I have used Ancaster Jewellers twice in the past couple years to do some work on my high-end watches. Both watches were returned in worse shape then when dropped off. The first watch was returned with a rattle inside and I was told it was like that when they received it. It cost me several hundred dollars to repair and I truly believe they swapped in a faulty piece so that they could sell me a full servicing. The second visit I only need some minor work done and the watch was returned with countless number of scratches and dings. This piece is so special to me it brought tears to my eyes. Joe is a great customer service representative and I'll miss my chats with him, however I will never step foot in that store again.

I have had countless amazing experiences at Ancaster Jewellers over the last ~7 years, not only with the staff, but with Jean-Pierre directly as well. I have required a range of services from them, including watch repair, ring resizing, repair of broken and loose diamonds in an heirloom ring, as well as always being where I go to purchase my timepieces. I have also sold/traded watches to them, and that experience was fantastic as well. I simply cannot understand how others can say that their staff is rude, as I've never encountered the slightest inkling of a rude comment in my hours spent inside that store. No matter what you require, if it has to do with jewelry, I am confident that there is no other place that will beat the care and service that is provided at Ancaster Jewellers.

INCREDIBLY RUDE STAFF- Both the initial person I bought the ring from and after I came back to resize it. ZERO customer service. Made my whole experience extremely unpleasant. There was absolutely no reason for these people to be so rude to me other than the fact that they were disappointed that I wasn’t spending thousands in the store. I guess just under $1000 wasn’t enough for commission. The engraving and sizing was so poorly done but they refused to fix it. Very low budget store. Save your money for another place.

While dealing with my poor/rude customer service, I decided to scroll through the reviews. Most of them are the exact reasons you should not take your business here. Brought a watch in for polish/link removal, they try to upcharge by saying "needs full service". I declined and said I just wanted what I had asked for to be done. They then turn rude with attitude and said it doesn't make sense to have what I wanted done and to come pick up my watch. Scammers.....

My husband's aunt recommended I go to Ancaster Jewellers for an appraisal. The owner and staff were friendly, professional, and answered my emails quickly. The appraisal was a fair price and much less than I was expected to pay. The owner was kind enough to rush the appraisal so I didn't have to go too long without my ring since he knew the sentimental value it has for me. They even cleaned my other ring for free! What a great experience. My fiancé and I could not be happier. Ancaster Jeweller took me through the entire process starting with picking the diamond, designing the ring presenting 3d printed renderings for me to view before casting. They listened to what I was looking for and were super easy to talk with. The ring turned out beautiful and was completed well within the estimated time. I would recommend everyone to come here. I have been a customer of Ancaster Jewellers for a very long time and I am always pleased with the service I receive. I recently had a ring designed by Russell (with some help from JP too) and I cannot express how happy I am with how it turned out. I trust the staff with my jewellery when needing repairs etc. and their advice. The prices are fair and their honesty always is in the customers best interest.

From my experience this is a brilliant jewellers. I wanted my engagement ring remade - I had a vision in mind and they executed it to perfection. Couldn’t be happier with their work. Id much rather support a small independent than shop at a large, faceless chain jewellers and not be sure if I had my stones back! Would highly recommend them. Service was friendly and efficient. Russell knows his stuff.

I needed a battery replaced for my watch,as well as links removed from the band,and adjustment on closing mechanism.The watch needed a pressure test for 200 meters,and had to be sent out for this service.The watch was ready two weeks earlier than expected. Pricing was fair for work done.I have two other watches that also need batteries, Ancaster Jewellers will see me again.

I brought a vintage diamond ring to this store before Christmas. We agreed they would consign it through the holidays and if it didn’t sell they would purchase it for an agreed upon price. When I went back today they were not even showing it on display and offered me $300 less than the original offer. I did not appreciate this approach.

I get my watch batteries there and they are always fast and efficient. Good quality batteries too, that last longer that the cheap ones offered by other stores. It's a high end store with very nice merchandise. The door is locked for security and you have to ring the buzzer then they unlock the door remotely.

Did my necklace loop way to small for a standard size necklace, then went back to get it fixed. did not follow what I told them to do and took out what they originally did and charged me extra for that too. Would not recommend going here to fix jewelry. Spent almost $100 for a $20 job. Unbelievable.

I have had several heritage pieces of jewelry repaired, purchased new custom designed pieces, and off-the-shelf items. The workmanship, quality and friendly service have been very good. The only slight drawback is that repairs sometimes take a long time. But overall this is an excellent shop.

Rude customer service. Mis-sized a ring (by 1.5 sizes) and blamed the weather for it not fitting properly. Suggested it was water retention given the rain? Offered no solution.
