Went recently after it was reopened. Things to note this is no longer an imax cinema, the screen is still the same but the pictures don't look clear, bright and sharp as back in the imax days. It honestly looked like 480p As for the sound it was super immersive and the surround awesome. However I had to wear my earphones to muffle the noise, it was just too loud, honestly too loud and also felt it lacked enough bass. The bass was mostly felt through vibrations which was aaawwesoome, but I felt I wish I could hear it more. I'm not going back unless they reduce the volume a little bit. It felt like a bus playing great music but just too loud it begins irritating and hurting your ears. Other than that, better than nothing, nice having a cinema in cbd. Food still expensive as ever soda 150bob

This is a fairly nice cinema. The staff are well trained and do their job well in serving customers.The screening of films is good and satisfactory and the atmosphere well suited for movie watching and hanging out with friends. The only gripe I have with the place is the long queues that I sometimes find especially before the screening of popular films as people buy tickets. These queues form as a result of inadequate ticket booths from which everyone buys tickets. If any IMAX executive reads this review please solve this problem for a 5- star rating.

Funny story, I actually got lost on my way to IMAX Kenya Century. I thought the cinema was still located at the old building near Archives. When I finally managed to get there, I was happy to find what I was looking for. The classic IMAX experience. The screen was great although there was a moment where it just blacked out in the middle of the movie. Other than that it was a wonderful experience. My only problem was with the concession stand. There was no variety and that denied me the chance to enjoy a snack

The 3D experience was quite immersive at times aside from afew flickering issues. Tickets are around KES 550 per person. Largest popcorn KES 250. Plastic bottle soda KES 150. Early shows aren't packed and you'll have more seating options. There's also a restaurant on site that's kind of pricey. But will work well if you don't want to spend looking for an eatery outside. Washrooms could definitely be cleaner. Otherwise there's also a wide variety of movies on show daily.

Went to watch Avengers movie last night. Really great movie theatre. The ambience is great! The seats are awesome! The screen is extremely huge! The sound system is the bomb! The washroom area is clean always. There is a snack and refreshments area. Wish more could be done as far as assesibllity to people who are differently abled is concerned since one has to use stairs in order to access the theatre hall. Otherwise, it is a great place, more so at night.

I always love my IMAX experience. I usually prefer premium tickets, as the experience is a bit more comfortable, especially around the premier of a good movie. The stalls outside can get quite crowded. But with the premium tickets, you get access to Arfa Lounge, where you can get drinks without the hassle of the queues. You also get a complimentary drink at the Lounge if you get the premium tickets. They're a bit pricier, but definitely worth it.

It's long since I was last here. I liked the Dancing Spoon restaurant. I liked the name. I liked the seating arrangement for such space. I liked the aquarium, very strategically places. Now, the bathrooms, uuuum maybe because this is an old school building, but whoa, you gotta go out, climb the stairs, then squeeze through the door. It's only one bathroom, so one person at a time. I wish the owners of the building can find a way to fix this one.

Went to watch the meg yesterday 4th september 2023.the screen had a mulfuntion.idk exactly what but i asked the guy that gives out 3d glasses and he admitted it.the movie was so dark like camera copy. It hurt my eyes and gave me a headache. So this week dont go watching a movie there until the fix it. Am dissapointed that they only care about charging people and they cant even tell you that there screen is bust. Shame Anga cbd

Good movies, etc etc, better than any big screens at home, good sound. Well.. Their pricing is insane. 300bob for a movie would be fair. One would go 3 or 4 time in a month. Currently due to the price for this entertainment, I only go once every 2 to 3 months. It is not the total budget lacking. It is the price per event. I guess it would be better with lower price (cut to half) to fill the largely empty seats!!

Had an excellent movie experience here. We saw Dark Phoenix within a few weeks of its release. We popped in during the day to buy our tickets and had great seat selection options. The cinema itself is quite large with comfortable seats and good surround sound. It was also pleasantly clean. The staff were very helpful and friendly. Popcorn wasn’t the freshest batch but still tasted good! Would highly recommend!

It's really a cool place to catch a quick movie at 4 after a busy day. Like the convenience of it being in town is just to die for. And besides, it's an IMAX cinema, what better way to watch a watch a movie, especially for big budget movies with stellar cinematography and sound and scores. As well as it's student offer ticket prices of 200, you really have no reason to catch a movie at least once every week.

This place used to be great. However, poor standards and organisation has really reduced it. If you want exceptionally long queues with little serving staff, if you want films that start up to 30mins late, if you want loud talking throughout your whole film, if you want toilets with human waste on the floors and walls then this is the place for you. It did not used to he like this, what a shame...

Large curve 3D screen, great movie experience. The down side, they turned me and my friends down when we arrived with our kids to watch the movie Infinity Wars. Yes, we understood it was rated 16+, but quite disappointed when we came back later to find even younger kids than ours were allowed in. Why the double treatment?? One of the best 3D screens in Nairobi. Service sucks though

The theater was clean and not stuffy as I thought it would be. The screen was huge. Like huge in a nice way. On the downside, the delays of the movie hours are wanting. They are not timely. A movie that we paid to watch at 3pm was open for show at 6pm. Three hours later man! That is ridiculous especially if on a tight schedule. Other than that, the experience was okay.

The films played were Kenyan produced and this just got me thinking about how Kenya is actually talented in that sector. They were brilliant. The theatre is well set. From the sitting arrangements to the screening of the films. Drinks and snacks are available. It's a great place to watch with your friends or family or just a couple. It was a wonderful experience for me

It's nice. Not that big. It has a lounge and happy hour during the day. It's not often full but that's okay because you don't feel like it's small. They have average customer service. The toilets are average too. For snacks, they have regular popcorn and caramel popcorn, samosas, meat pies, chocolate and Smarties. For drinks, they have water and carbonated drinks

The movie was great but the 3D glasses are a bit blurry. Management should look into that. Also, why should a movie start late? What's the point of schedules then? Please separate the buying of tickets from the snack outlets. It just slows the whole process and makes for stagnant long queues The complimentary drinks were a nice touch though. #WakandaForever

I'd say its the best Movie theatre around so far. The fact that its not situated inside a fancy mall is probably one of the reasons I like it so much. Especially on a Sunday when the CBD is all quiet and no traffic jam you definitely should pay Imax a visit! It can be a hustle during the weekday unless you work within the CBD then you're at an advantage

The screen is wonderful. Epic size of the 3D screen. The washrooms are pretty decent as well as the snacks on offer. They also offer caramel popcorn. However, they could have better management of movies in terms of ticketing. There have been cases of double bookings for certain movies. They also changed the pricing. 3D glasses could use a boost

My person and I went to watch Aquaman on 3D. More than ample parking space, the reception we got from the staff was very courteous as we picked our pocket friendly snacks at the concession stand.... they got a big screen with an epic stereo surround system which kept everyone on the edge of their seats. I'll definitely be doing this again

Checking in and getting a ticket Takes time due to unnecessary queues even if paid online. It's a bit expensive than necessary promoting piracy in the process. I could have easily acquired the same movie online or on movie kiosks for a mere $50 cents. Compared to the $6 I paid. But experience is good overall. Good place to take a friend.

I have been there twice and both time there was more than 30 minutes delay before the starting of the movie. You line up and they tell you that will start in the next 15 minutes... The glasses they give are completely scratched, you pay lot of money for the ticket and they are not able to provide good 3d glasses. Completely shameless...

Amazing movie event watching John Wick. Started a bit late but so much worth it. Sat next to these guys who kept talking the whole time so annoying. Movie was great and the sound was so epic damn. Felt like I was there acting. Was an early morning ticket for ksh. 200. Would definitely go back ☺️☺️

It is a fantastic place for a film; it puts all others to shame. A bit hidden, in my view, but a great place nonetheless. Great sound system in the theatres. My only niggle is that there is no variety in the snacks offered, but then that's just me; others may say they are there to watch films, not eat.

Customer care is wanting...no good communication. Watched Dragons and Dungeons today there, the screen was blurry and you couldn't see the characters on the screen during wide shots. I don't know if it's because of the long closure but I'm sure you can do better for the amount you charge for tickets.

The perfect movie theatre in the city centre showing all the latest movies in 2D and 3D. I saw the Lion King 3D animation here and it was a great movie experience. The ambience is good, albeit a bit old fashioned, which in a way is a nice thing. There are great off-peak and student discounts.

I love watching movies on the big screen and there's no better place if you're in Nairobi CBD than Anga Cinemas CBD. They have a cool lounge with assorted drink that you can enjoy while you watch the movie or even if you want to hang out with friends. Would highly recommend a visit.

The only problem with IMAX is the prizes on the website are never the prices when you go to the cinema. It's aggrevating. Other than that the staff were friendly and the popcorn was fresh and tasty. The ads were a little too loud but the movie itself was well regulated.

Been a huge fan simply because it's in the CBD, great service. Huge screen and comfortable seats. Booking efficiency, Clean theater and well ordered. My only concern is seats reserved for people who book online. Other than that everything else is great.

The screen is great for the 3D experience. You actually feel like you are part of the movie. But something bit me in the cinema hall. I left with a swollen and itchy arm twice in a row. Not going back there ever. They should keep the place cleaner.

IMAX is beautiful and the staff are very helpful.Although the snacks are very expensive you can come in when you are comfortable and just enjoy the movie.Its a good environment for either friends, people in relationship to just chill and relax.

20th century Imax was my best place for one to go for premiering movies. They had the best screen compared to Garden city and Diamond plaza Imax theatres. A legendary theatre gone down the drain...a minute of silence for it

I used to wait for movies to be available in blue ray. Since I heard of Anga Imax, I've never looked back. Movies are on widescreen and in 3D. You'll never really understand it till you experience it yourself.

I doubt there is any other place in the city where you can get such a priceless movie experience. Save for the lack of variety when it comes to snacks and refreshment, everything else exceeds expectations.

I loved that it is so conveniently situated and has a cosy ambience. The screen was massive, and the sound quality was decent enough to make me visit the place again. It was an amazing experience overall!

Incase you dint know there is a tiny awesome bar besides IMAX where most pple refer to as waiting area,once you're inside you can request anything and entry is free.
