I would give 0 stars if I could. Set up was made easy, however getting in contact with my broker as well as making changes and eventually cancelling my policy was like pulling hairs. Every step of the was was painful. Knowledgeable staff and high quality service are not KBD's strong suits. I was misled and almost forced to pay a $550.00 early cancellation fee when switching to a new division of the same insurance provider (Intact to Jevco). When my new broker contacted Intact directly, the Intact underwriter confirmed that this should not be the case and that it is in fact standard practice to waive this fee when switching providers under the umbrella of Intact. Although, Eva Wanat and David Montgomery were friendly, it did not seem like they had my best interests in mind. Nor did they have the correct information. I would stay away. This does not seem to be a personable or honourable business, it seems more to me like a slimy sales business. Designed to draw customers in with low pricing and then trapping them in their policies. FOLLOW UP: I was contacted by David at KBD following this review being posted. The voicemail I have from David is argumentative and he goes on to state that I was unable/incapable of providing documentation and that I should have involved my new broker sooner to remedy the situation. David: I posted this review as a customer. The least you could do is not argue or blame me but instead accept responsibility and move on. If any management staff of Asurance KBD would like the voicemail left by David, I would be happy to provide it.

From the moment I first spoke with my sales representative Matthew, I could feel a special connection – a sort of symmetry, if you will – to this person. I could sense a deep passion as he spoke of the insurance options available to me and I knew from that moment onward that we would share an exceptional bond. Never, in all of my years dealing with customer service, have I been treated with the type of respect and professionalism that I was provided with during my chat with Matthew. I was thoroughly captivated by his knowledge and enthusiasm and left our discussion feeling both reassured and confident about the future. I am envious of all future clients who are afforded the opportunity to discuss their insurance plans with him, and will be eager to discuss future products when the occasion arises. What a pleasure to deal with KBD and in particular Malcolm Fava. I tried many other insurance companies and played phone tag for days on end. Malcolm answered the phone each time I called and answered emails promptly. What a great experience. I called for home insurance and the quote he gave me was excellent, saving me a couple of hundred dollars with an improved policy. While I was at it he gave me a quote for car/motorcycle insurance. They have great employees and a amazing service along they try to find you the best prices my insurance agents name is David M. and honestly he took care of my insurance situations like not just as a agent but as a if i was his own family member. First of all these guys gave me a very competitive offer when I was shopping around for my insurance last year. This was not just that. I needed to contact them with several questions about my renewal at 4pm on Friday before the Thanksgiving weekend. Their agent Louis-Philippe Maltais went above and beyond answering all my questions and giving meaningful suggestions. This is a service for which I am ready to pay for, even if it will be more than their competitors offer. Extremely professional staff!

Decided to shop around for new insurance since I was paying a lot with my old insurance; stumbled upon KBD and from start to finish Matthew was very professional and a pleasure to deal with. Everyone is super nice and getting my car insurance set up for the first time was a breeze thanks to them even with my last minute request on a Friday. I have a few nitpicks with the app and not supporting Visa debit is a bit of a bummer but as for the overall service, I wouldn't want to go with anyone else.
