Edit: I left a 1 star review back in 2017 and you can see my old review below. However, I am changing my review to 5 stars all due to one staff, Guy who has been nothing but fantastic ever since he joined them. He is the most friendly and helpful postal worker I have ever met and Australia Post should use him as the standard by which all staff are trained and expected to behave. Review from 2017: Read all the other reviews below. Its sad to say but I have had the same experience. Can confirm with other reviews: 1. The staff seem to enjoy making your life hard and are not at all helpful. I think the guy was Ryan who works on Saturdays who seems to enjoy what little power he has over customers. 2. Their ID requirements vary constantly. Sometimes I don't need an ID, sometimes I do, sometimes I need to bring another letter as proof I live there.

Watch out for that middle aged lady with glasses. She bites. She has told me off several times before and yet again today when I did nothing wrong. For context, I was in the queue looking at the discount table while waiting for someone to appear. Another lady came in and went straight to the counter when that staff suddenly came out from the back. I told her I was waiting and she told me I was preoccupied and not waiting so it wasn’t my turn. I hate to say that based off all the negative reviews, that staff may have some prejudice against non Caucasian people. If she snaps at you, just know that she does it to about every younger non Caucasian person.

Terrible service, arrived to pick up a parcel and the staff realised that had given my parcel mistakenly away to someone else. They very unapologetic and said it was not their field of work to deal with and referred to customer service. Customer service took 10 days to process my report and then when they finally got back to me, told me I'd have to wait another 10 extra days. Still haven't gotten my parcel yet. Not my first bad experience with them as I often encounter bad and unfriendly service from the staff.

Don't want to be judgemental. However, the female staff were so rude that I couldn't bear it! The worst service I have ever received, not just once. Staff will yell at you as if you are not a person and reply with a mean attitude for your little confused enquiry about the services. Finally, you have to pay whatever they require you. That's so insane and humiliating!!! Don't know why they are there if they don't want to work. If I had any other choice, I wouldn't want to go there once!!!

Sad Australia Post seems not taking customer feedback very seriously. Letting your bad attitude, inflexible staffs serve the shop just like keeping your dog biting everyone who comes in. They’re hurting people. It’s unethical as the locals have no choice but keep suffering by coming to collect their parcel here! Just wish the staff who see this feedback can go and observe other post office. Thank you.

Friendly and helpful people behind the counter who are patient beyond belief - but Australia Post as a whole could save us all so much hassle by putting the OPENING HOURS on the first Google Search that comes up for this post office. It takes a lot of digging to find out when the place is open. And Australia Post has inconsistent opening hours across the country so it's impossible to guess.

The staff Emily has very bad attitude. Every time I walked into the post office I was afraid to be served by her. She treats people badly and make you feel like an idiot even if you didn't do anything wrong. If I could say I do not wish to be served by Emily every time I go there I would. Maybe she doesn't like her job but we're only there to pick up our parcels not to be given a lecture.

The staff named EMILY is unhelpful, unfriendly, patronizing and honestly incompetent. Went in to buy a parcel post, asked 3 times, but she REFUSED to let me buy it as she kept insisting that it was a letter. When I called Customer Service, he was equally confused and stunned that I was told what kind of post I could send and I wasn't allowed to post the way I wanted to.

I have never met such rude staff. It is our local post office but I try to go elsewhere as it generally seems such an effort to have to serve someone. I cannot understand why Australia Post don't offer some basic training in courtesy and customer service to these women. It almost seems that they get satisfaction out of the poor way that they treat customers.

I need to go there several times a week due to my job and it has been more than one year, I haven't had a problem with this post office. I think people works there are not as bad as other reviews said, they are fast responding and efficient. I hope people can have a better understanding about how things work before write down negative comments.

Staff seem irritated that people come in to collect their own parcels? There is no need for the sharp attitude these people have, if I engaged in the same huffing and puffing, and the patronizing that these people did, I would be fired from my job I also sent a letter here that never arrived to the recipient. 0 stars

Horrible staff that delight in Aus Post's inconsistent security policies that prevent customers from receiving their mail. I also can't believe patronizing staff that address customers as 'darl' and 'honey' still actually exist in some institutions. Switching to TNT to get my parcels delivered.

Please hire some staff who actually enjoy their job. The man in training is the only decent, helpful individual, otherwise the rest of the women are just plain rude and impatient. I work in customer service and hospitality and I would be fired in a second if I acted the way those women do.

I have not had a problem with this post office, I pick up multiple parcels and have done for years. Sometimes the staff need to explain the correct ID protocol to people that are not prepared to go by the rules, the people that complain - usually fall in to this category

Why so many negative reviews??? I have used this Post Office for years. Everyone is polite and efficient. The store has great stock and items for sale. Parcels can be picked up early in the morning for people who work 9-5pm. It's a typical post office. No complaints!

Went to the post office looking for a sock monkey I had seen on clearance but they were all out of stock. A very friendly lady called around 3 post offices and found me one, and brought it to Carlton post office for me to pick up the next day! Made my day, thank you!

As a local and regular I cannot commend the team highly enough - efficient, personable, knowledgable and helpful. Unfortunately they do have to deal with customers who do not understand that the staff do not set rules or prices. Customer service works both ways.

Denied ID check with very rude manners claiming that there was insufficient documentation - their incompetence could have costed me lots of money due to delayed settlement. Another office did the ID check effortlessly with same documents.

Not only do they NEVER leave a parcel note in our letterbox, it is impossible to pick up if you work regular hours 8-5. My package will have been there for over a week by the time I can get to it.

I must be pretty lucky, because I was able to pick up my package easily. I was asked for my Photo ID, name, and address. The operator was nice and the service was lightning fast. Keep it up!

Find them always really helpful and quick. Do everything precisely. Sometimes I don't even require my passport and my international ID is enough. They never make a big deal out of this.
