Don't count on the business hours printed on the Australia Post registered mail collection card to get service from this Australia Post-licensed business; I left work early and spent nearly an hour in traffic to get there before 6pm, only to discover on arrival that they inexplicably close at 5.50pm. They may be nice people but I'll never know as it's impossible to do business with people who don't actually open for the operating hours advertised and, from the way the Australia Post van driver emptying the mailbox out the front was laughing, I suspect I'm not the first person to have been inconvenienced in this way. I visited the Australia Post website to alert them to this deceptive advertising, seek an alternative means whereby I might actually receive my mail, and lodge a request that mail addressed to me never be sent here again, however their chatbot was incapable of providing any kind of resolution, satisfactory or otherwise, so here I am. Reminiscent of the kind of 'service' that left the taxi industry wide open when ride sharing emerged.

The WORST service I’ve ever received. As someone who works in customer service I am shocked by how rude the elderly man working there was. Incredibly selfish attitude and refused to tape my parcel because I wasn’t posting it. Even tho I paid for it from them. First time leaving a negative review and I’m hoping it’s my last the service really was appalling.

It was my first time at the post office, and the staff was really helpful and friendly! I asked a few questions about how to send a parcel overseas, and they were very knowledgeable about everything. They made me feel very welcome too!

Most helpful and friendliest post office in Hobart (although the City GPO is great too). Always found South Hobart post office to offer helpful advice and offer help in a very useful and friendly manner.

Visiting from WA and needed to send parcels back home. Excellent service. Staff very knowledgeable. Great gifts too.

The owner is a racist and abuses and embarrasses Asians in front of other customers while they are in his shop
