So after my yearly auto inspection this morning, I decided to take my car to Autobell at 336 Second St. Williamsburg, Va.. I paid for exterior wash and hand dry service $7.99. After driving thru automated wash, I stepped out of my vehicle during hand dry procedure to inspect vehicle and add tire shine. Upon inspection I noticed a few scratches and scuffs in passenger fender and passenger side hood that weren't there prior to wash. I explained that I'd just came from across the street getting an auto inspection and that the shop I visited took pictures of my vehicle just prior to inspection as part of their policy. The pictures were emailed to me and I could show proof that the damage wasn't there prior to wash. At this point the young lady drying my vehicle explained she was the manager and that there was no way the micro fiber cloth from their wash did the damage. She asked, "What do you think in our carwash would cause such scratches and scuffs? And why were there no scratches and scuffs on another vehicle that came thru with yours?" I explained that I didn't know what was going on. The scratches weren't there prior to wash and I had pictures taken 20-30 min. to prove it at which point I as told there was no way there equipment did it. I asked to speak to the manager and she told she was the manager, she would have to file a claim and basically her equipment couldn't have done such. Feeling as if she hadn't and wasn't taking my situation serious or actually trying help me in any way. (Never even offered compensation or a refund!) I asked for the number to their corporate office. At this point she began to display being irritated by my want/need for some type of action and satisfaction as a paying customer. She swiftly began to walk off while saying I can give you the number for corporate and file a claim but my car would need to be run thru again to try and duplicate the problem in order to do anything for me. She came back out from office with a claim form for me to fill out and said corporate's number was at the top of the form. I called the number at the top which was actually another manager for the location who was actually on site. He answered very unprofessional as if he were talking on his personal cell, I explained who I was and why I was calling. He informed me that he knew who I was and that he was on site and to follow her directions and run car for a second time to try and recreate the issue. After exiting the was the female manager came out with claim form filled and signed saying customer discovered scratches on the bumper after vehicle was cleaned. She'd taken pictures after the first wash and inspected other vehicles washed at same time as mine and no others vehicles were damaged during wash. (No pics were taken by her.) Autobell held no liability for damages found. I showed that to the Male manager I'd been given the number to. He came out in total backing of the female manager and denied fault and liability immediately. He began to take pics and say I'd have to take it thru for a 3rd time to duplicate the problem in order for them to do anything to help me. I went thru for a 3rd time and he compared his pics to the damages found and said that everything he see's is in the pictures he took. Of course, the damages have been done by this point and the brushes are striking the car in the same places as the prior (2) washes and new damage will be hard to notice regardless I explained. By this point I had already Googled their corporate office info and called, only for the person at corporate to tell me that all claims were handled within the store. She notified me that the individual I'd been speaking with, Ryan was the operating manager and any claims decisions would be handled by him. Corporate had nothing to with anything related to the claim but that she would speak with the district manager and he'd be giving me a call. Haven't heard from anyone yet and it's been a couple of hours. At this point my Matte Black paint job is a Scratched Black paint job...my entire car displays new scratches!

The location that we went to did a very good job with the car wash, but the associate who assisted us accidentally did not give us back the key fob. The car was already started, so we were able to drive off without the fob. Back at our hotel, we called the phone number listed online for the location that serviced us, and it led directly to a corporate robot answering service. Several calls to this customer service line yielded varying results that were all equally unhelpful. All I was really trying to get was a direct-line phone number for the location that had our car keys so I could confirm that they had eyes on them, but every representative that we spoke to said that they had no number for this location. Even more frustrating is knowing that the location is across the street from this corporate office. The representatives that we spoke with ranged from friendly but unhelpful to one who was rude and refused to escalate me to a supervisor (she eventually hung up on me after telling me that she already spoke to her supervisor for me). When I finally did speak to a supervisor after yet another call to the customer service line, he was not helpful and didn't seem to really care. He just told me that they would send another report to the location, but that he could not confirm when or even if management at this location would view this report. When my wife finally Ubered back to the location, management there had no knowledge of this incident despite the customer service line telling us that they sent multiple "reports." Fortunately a manager there eventually was able to recover the keys and give them back to us, but this whole ordeal seemed to be an exercise in how badly middle management and bureaucracy can get in it's own way. I'm not really mad that the associate accidentally forgot to give back the keys. Accidents happen. What I cannot wrap my head around is how no one from this company's customer service center had a phone number for one of their own locations. Having the phone number listed on Google be the actual phone number for the car wash and not a corporate line would have avoided all of this trouble. We never received any of the promised follow up calls from customer service. I just wanted verification that the manager of the car wash had eyes on my keys before we Ubered there. That was all. I don't understand why there had to be "reports" and waiting periods for something this simple. I have no complaints about the car wash itself or the location that provided it. To his credit, the manager that gave us back the keys did offer to provide my wife with a ride back to the hotel if she had time to wait, but we were already late for a dinner reservation with the family that we are in town visiting, so she had to decline. Autobell should really reconsider how their customer service is structured, and should perhaps consider allowing customers to reach their local car wash locations directly rather than be forced to go through such a laborious and ultimately useless process. At the very least, customer service should be able to make a phone call to their own car wash locations, otherwise I'm not sure what service they can be expected to provide when something simple but serious like losing a key fob happens.

The only reason there is a star is because I had to put something to write this review. I am in absolute tears at the treatment I received on July 29, 2017 at the Pineville location. I just came back home to the Charlotte area, and when I was here before, I only used Auto Bell. A loyal customer and feeling good about the fact that I only used Autobell, I went to the Pineville location with my son, paid my $20, and made sure to get my tip voucher. Because it was my weekend off, I took a walk to the stores across the street and made my way back to the car wash with my son after shopping. I gave the young man my receipt and tip voucher and started to go on my merry way. Then I noticed that my driver's side mirror was hanging off. The young man had took my receipt and tip voucher, and didn't bother to tell me that my mirror had been broken! I went to speak to the manager on duty, who promptly accused me of being nowhere to be found, and that the head manager had determined that my rear view mirror had prior damage and to basically be on my way...with a broken rear view mirror hanging off the side of my car! I asked for the contact information for the head manager, but when I called he proceeded to tell me that my mirror was previously damaged...basically making me feel like I was some kind of criminal that came to the car wash looking for a free mirror replacement. It was just awful, I basically paid $20 to have my mirror broken. When I finally left the car wash, my son told me that the car wash employees were laughing at me. But there was nothing funny about driving down the road with a broken mirror and worrying about the possibility of getting a ticket. I called the 800 corporate number, and they had the same manager that made me feel like dirt call me and tell me there was nothing they would do to fix my mirror. Here's the thing, it's not as much about a broken mirror as it is the treatment I received from this company. I may be old school, but if I am loyal to a company I at least expect to be treated like my money matters. I will NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER go back to this company again, in any capacity.

I have been an Unlimited Monthly member of Autobell for a few years now. I had never had a problem with billing the entire time until recently. I had opted for the $70 unlimited plan for one month as I thought I would use the interior cleaning often during that month. After the one, and only, time I had the actual full cleaning, I realized they try to get you through as fast as possible, and that I do a better job with a shop vac and a rag than they do. I attempted to change my plan before my billing cycle and it would not allow me to do so. I then requested to cancel my account altogether as I realized they weren't going to help me. I also requested to cancel effective immediately, and after a few days, I see I had been charged the $70+ for the following month and after requesting a refund for this, I was told they won't cancel until 9/2 and will not give me a refund! Unreal. Especially how long I had been using their unlimited services for. Also, I am looking into getting a new vehicle. So I was going to get my truck, which is an OXFORD WHITE F150, professionally detailed before listing it for sale. The detailer showed me the MANY swirl scratches and marks in the paint and he asked me if I frequented Autobell and I said yes, why, and he said their brushes are notorious for damaging vehicle's paint. He said most "touch" washes do some sort of damage over time, but Autobell's are above and beyond the worst. I am embarrassed that I did not know this before. I will be using a touch-less option on my next new vehicle. Lastly, my company, which consists of a fleet of over 300 vehicles mostly in the Carolinas, VA & GA, was looking for a drive-thru car wash to accommodate this fleet instead of having our drivers expense their washes, and I have a say in making this decision, I will not be recommending Autobell.

Went to the Fayetteville Street location in Raleigh. I went to the car wash and went through the drive through portion, and it ended up cracking my windshield from end to end to the point where I had to get it replaced. There are video cameras that they are aware of (and is indicated on my claim report I filed). My windshield was NOT cracked before going through the drive through wash portion. The guy I spoke with about it (Kyle Hall) even said to me several times as I filed the claim with him in the office, that he was "so sorry this happened." Basically admitting that something happened. Someone also called me back today (weeks after the incident mind you), telling me they denied the claim and admitted they did "an investigation" which did NOT include looking at video footage of whether my windshield was cracked before I went through the car wash - what a joke. In addition, they did a poor job of cleaning my car. I have several pictures of my car supposedly AFTER they cleaned my car. It was still dirty. The same guy that called me about all of this today only offered to come and re-clean my car or a credit to come back. When I just asked for a refund (because who would want to continue dealing with them and their poor customer service), he said "well we can't do that because the service was provided." I don't want someone contacting me unless it's from Corporate - not one of your young managers that don't know what they're talking about. I've also already filed out the form you have everyone fill out so don't over that as some kind of solution. To everyone, DO NOT COME HERE TO GET YOUR CAR WASHED EVER!

I usually have a great experience at the 3rd St. location and have gotten my vehicles washed here for years. The last time was my last time at this location. The attendant at the mouth of the car wash bay was rude. I asked him to spray the back of my truck (as I have for years because of the grime build-up my truck accumulates) and he refused. Additionally, the manager on duty was not helpful when I told him no soap was applied to the truck the first or second time I was sent through. I was contacted by who I'm assuming was a regional manager who was very kind and generous...I won't hold a grudge against the entire company. Years ago Autobell had a monopoly in the Charlotte area but it has plenty of competition now. They would do well to make sure customers are treated better than I was at this location...especially those who have patronized the business as long as I have.

I’m extremely disappointed in the service I received especially after I told the cashier I was dissatisfied my very 1st time coming to Auto Bell. Mind you, this is only my 2nd time and the service was way worst. Their employee referred to their service as “fast food”. A quick service for cars... that cost me $40? If I wanted a quick careless car wash, I wouldn’t have went to a place that HAND DRIES + HAND CLEANS your car. I paid $26 + a $12 tip (AND TAXES) just to come back home to have to finish cleaning my car. My dash is still dirty, my carpets still need to be vacuumed. I specifically asked the washer to get ALL sides of my car but I get out the wash and my car is STILL dirty. I’m sure I will never come back here to get my car washed. I can tell these kids don’t care about good customer service.

There's one guy I trust there working on my car but I'm not sure what days he works. Lavar does a good job on detailing. Hes often assigned to the Mclaren and Rolls Royce that come through occasionally. Don't get me wrong there are other good guys there. Just beware there's a guy that calls himself asking for tips in exchange for a thorough job of detailing and after you tip him you find he's done a piss-poor job in doing so. Even if you perform well, asking for tips (which should be earned by quality of performance) is wrong. It's like promising a free product from your amazon store in exchange for a good review, immediately after which you will be shut down for life. I won't have to describe him because he does it to people he feels comfortable asking.

Have used Autobell many times and had no issues, On this last trip, the rear door handle on the passenger side was broken off, and I was not informed. The door handle was placed inside the vehicle were I found it later that evening. The manager reviewed the video footage, agreed to damage and I filled out a claim. The insurance adjuster contacted me the next day and I gave him the quote from the dealer for the repair. I received a check for $100 dollars less than the repair. I called multiple times to the customer care line and received assurances that the District Manager would call me. This has gone on for over a month with no calls from anyone. In reality, my last car wash at Autobell cost me $130 , and a great inconvenience, to say the least.

I’d say if you set your expectations correctly, this will fit the bill for getting your car mostly clean super quickly. Don’t expect detail work, and you should always look over the interior before you drive off to make sure they got everything clean enough for you. My kids love to kick the backs of the front seats with their dirty and sometimes muddy feet, and I always have to point out that they missed cleaning there. I’m not picky, but there’s obviously dirt there that shouldn’t be. Anyway everyone’s always cool about it, and when I point it out they quickly jump back in and take care of it. So I recommend this car wash with the caveats that you should expect speed over quality, and you’ll need to speak up if they miss something inside.

I went to the autobell on Warwick in Newport news VA.. about 30 minutes ago. Awful place! Never been there before, I will never go back. I paid $17 for wash Nd vacuuming. Ridiculous price! I told the guy because it was a loaner from Casey Bmw and I was on my way to take it back that I didn't need it dried or spent alot of time on. Just needed a quick vacuum and run it through the wash! $16 for that!!! Then when I got to Casey and opened up the back door, the back of the car wasnt even touched! The people who work there are unfriendly. Not happy with this place, and based on reviews they don't really care nor will they do anything about your bad experience. So I'll just leave a review and let everyone know not to go there!

  • Lisa Rockholt

I have always trusted Autobell to give excellent service; however, this last visit was exceptionally poor. They didn’t move my mats to vacuum underneath, they didn’t clean out my cup holders, the dash was untouched. I paid for inside and outside cleaning. It was so bad, I bought my own supplies to clean out my car. My mats in the front are rubber. They weren’t touched. I had to wash them off myself when I got home. The backseat mats weren’t vacuumed at all. I have a SUV, and the back wasn’t vacuumed at all. I work in home health and have to transport pts to and from MD appts. It’s imperative that my car is clean for their safety and mine. Sorry, Autobell, you guys failed big time.

  • J Jenkins

Experience was horrible. They half cleaned the car and didn’t even vacuum under my rugs. The manager, eddy lampe even assisted with the clean and watched as I ended up cleaning my own car because I got tired of pointing to all the stuff they missed. They didn’t even wipe down the interior. He came over and saw me cleaning my own car and instructed the guy to move on to the fragrance part and let her do it. I spoke to him and requested a partial refund since I had to clean my own car to which he offered to comp another wash. Why would I want to return to get another half wash. This was my 3 rd similar experience with this location and half cleaning seems to be the norm.

So, I just got of with customer service representative name Megan to ask her where was my missing funds for my gift card. She stated that the funds were applied to my monthly draft payment. If you are drafting my card each month why would my gift card money be used to my monthly bill. Clearing in the terms it states that its nontransferable and that you can use your gift card for future car washes. She didn't make it make sense. The absolute WORST customer service. Mind you I had to call back because I NEVER received a call from several days ago. What I person doesn't need is to talk to someone who DOESN'T know what they are talking about!!!

  • Clarity Sight Sound Design

Usually I am happy with service at this location. My main complaint is the new pay system and that it's automated. I believe, even though I own an automation company, human interaction is important and what sets Autobell apart. I won't be back if this continues. I don't see the added value, you still need to have someone mark the cars, no one to upsell you, it's slower not faster. What if I don't have a smart phone, what if I want to pay cash? It's not about cost I would rather pay more for the human experience. I can have a mobile service company come to the shop and knock all the cars out at once. Please change back.

Auto bell car wash in moorseville sucks!! Brushes Scratched my brand new 2023 car, some immature 16 year old is telling me to run my car thru the car wash, saying his manager will deny the claim if I don’t run it thru the car wash again, I refused. They rejected my claim because I wouldn’t run it thru a second time, they could not produce a written policy that states terms. They said if I leave the premises without going thru the car wash again then they would deny the claim. An $8 car wash is going to cost me hundreds to repair door… Going to small claims, what a hassle and lack of accountability.

  • THE BEAV

Last time they did a bad job forgot fragrance, tire shine, and didn't do the mats. This visit no better no fragrance, soaked my back seats with window cleaner, crappy job on the mats, broke one of the clips that holds the mats on the floor, looked for it then denied they did it and basically called us liars. The wash job was bad lots of missed spots, bugs still on the Windows and the front, then the tire shine is all over the car from the guy leaning on the car while doin tire shine. No response from the manager, don't waste your time with corporate either they just want you off the phone

  • Barbara Bynun

If you truly want to pay for the WORST car wash ever, go to Autobell at 750 N. Church Street, in Concord, NC! Worst experience I have ever had! Paid $27.81 for their best wash! My window had residue, dirt could be seen in several areas around my car, and I got no fragrance, (even though that was included in the price)! When I brought those things to their attention, I was told, “that’s the best we can do”! I called back to speak to a manager, but I am still waiting for a return call! I would rate them “0”, but you can’t write a review unless you pick a rating star!!!!

  • Jeff Baker

I have a two-year-old vehicle that has been through nothing but Auto Bell. I have a number of scratches and swirls due to the system/design, wash and drying process. I have spoke with the store manager and the district manager and both categorically deny-that there equipment did not scratch the vehicle. Absolute total lie!!! So if you have swirls and scratches and you use nothing but Auto Bell. There’s your problem. It’s a shame that they don’t have a disclaimer sign along with their price-that their system causes scratches. Absolutely ridiculous. Auto Bell no longer.

So when I first went the car wash location left I was not happy. I called customer support then went back to speak to Chad, the manager, about some issues I had with my wax job and vacuuming. He explained to me what he thought had happened with my wax, then demonstrated that my wax was fine it just needs a polish. Chad went out of his way to make sure I was 1000% satisfied with my car. I will definitely be going back and spreading the word that they do outstanding work, and they really do care about the service they are providing.

  • Bradley Green

I had a great experience today at this location. Came in yesterday and got a full service wash but unfortunately left the sunroof slightly open before it went into the car wash. Didn’t find out until today that there was sitting water in the truck and had a terrible smell and a few stains in the ceiling of the vehicle. I went back in to see if there was anything that could be done and Kenny took great care of me, the smell and the stains were gone. Excellent customer service. I definitely recommend going to this location.

  • Carrie Goforth

They signed me up for a promotional membership I specifically said I didn’t want and charged my credit card even though I never registered for the promotion. I then had to download the app and register for the membership I was already charged for to be able to cancel it so I wouldn’t get charged the next month. Extremely annoyed. If you go here and use a credit card check your statement the following month to make sure they aren’t charging you for a membership you didn’t agree to.

Uh...I just paid like 45$ for the "bogo" special. I Told them before I got in the car, it doesnt look like they wiped or even vacuumed my car. Two guys "well we did we're just an Express car wash" uhhhh ......wth? They didnt even move my water bottle to vacuum the seat!!! I literally just left and pulled into work and took all these pictures. Wat in the world ......!!?!!!!! They didnt even WIPE THE DASHBOARD. like look at the dust. Uhhhhh....okay.

  • Eric Martin

Best value, best service and most accommodating staff on the planet! I have been a client for many years and will continue to use this great company's services for years to come. In a hurry, I do the quick drive through. More time to spare on a detail job, always the Manager's Special with fantastic results each and every time. Thank you for your great service to this business owner and our fleet of vehicles! You people ROCK!

  • KatySue Tillman

The GM is rude, dismissive, and uninformed. He argued about services and refused to provide services paid for. Jay, the other manager, had a phenomenal attitude and made sure the work on my car got done. Unfortunately, the interior of the car was not perfect but an 8/10. Positives: outside of my car was cleaned and dried well. Take home: the Indian Trail location, although not perfect, has better services for your car!

  • Asia Shirley

Not a good place to have your car done. Very not inexperience. I was informed my Unlimited wash did not come with tire wax or car fragrance. My inside was barley touched. It seems as though they pick and choose who car they will provide great service to. Seems Racial and Gender Bias too me!! So, what is the use in me to keep this Unlimited pass. I believe I will cancel.

  • Bobby Thompson jr

The Autobell on High Point rd or Gate city blvd. are racist and incapable of cleaning a car. Also they have employees that steal from customers. This place should be looked at like a person wearing a ski mask in 90 degree weather, up to no good trying to take a dollar. Go here at your own risk and if you do I hope your not a person of color.

  • John Sawyer

AutoBell delivers a consistently good experience, and this location was no exception. They got me in and out of there in a hurry; the staff was attentive; and the wash job was more than adequate, both inside and out. Conveniently located. I've gone there for better than 30 years. Would highly recommend-

I have used other car washes before, but i always come back to the autobell at charlottetown. There is a young man name Saiquan that works there he is soo nice and professional and does a very good job! If anyone visits autobell at charlottetown look him up, his name is Saiquan.

Autobell really needs to think about their employees. They are working during this virus outbreak so they can make a buck at the cost of their employees health and well being. Unbelievable. There is Nothing essential about. having a clean car at the risk someones health

These people are a complete joke. They actually ran my car without any water and when I questioned it they said it is broken. Customer service is at rock bottom. One of the worst businesses I have had the displeasure to deal with. Avoid them if you have any sense.

Don’t waste your money. Paid for the highest package and my front windshield is streaky and they didn’t vacuum the back of my car. They went way too fast to do a good job. Could have done better on my own. Don’t believe they added the fragrance either.

Paid $32.16 for the Managers Special. They did a absolutely lousy job. Will never use their car wash again. Called their headquarters and they said they would try to do a better job next time. They did not ask for any details about the service.

Perfect system. Easy. Quick. Very nice staff. I’d like if there was a general QR code to scan and send a tip to a “tip pool” since the person who starts isn’t always the one to finish (the one who gets the tip). Love it!
