Depends on how many places you want to go to, this could be the first and last one of the night for you. I could see spending a few hours in this bar and prob don’t even know. It has good deco and vibe. Massive drink menu. The price is a bit pricey but you paying for table time and experience. It’s up to you to decide if the experience justifies the cost. I do think this is a very good bar. The drinks were great. Our group tried various drinks and everyone were quite happy with them. If you not sure about what to get, go have a chat with the bartender for a recommendation. They have quite a significant stock or good spirit here, there will be something for you. It’s unfortunate that we couldn’t see the live music but there’s always next time. Note: It’s right next to The Strand shopping complex. Right out side the door. They have booth and general sitting area. If you want a cozy seat, I recommend trying to get a booth. I think there is table service at the booth as well. It’s in the basement so you need to come down via a winding stairs, if you have mobility issue or require mechanical assistance, it will be difficult to get down. Feedback: Need a bit more light in the general area. I was having a hard time reading the menu under the dim lighting. Maybe some rechargeable table lamp? People can turn on to read when required and then it can be turned off. Otherwise, I see people turn on phone flash light to read the menu.

Three Cheese Toastie

The atmosphere is pretty cool (underground bar) and there’s a bunch of interesting cocktails, but given the price point, table service and more attentive staff would be nice (maybe a dedicated greeter?). EDIT: I initially had it as 3 stars but given the response from the bar I’m willing to just accept that staff were tired / busy and not as quick as expected with water / greeting. Although we had a few waiters walk past without saying “someone will be with you soon”.

Considering 3 years of its 5 year existence have been smashed by COVID lockdowns; it's no wonder I'd never heard of this great speakeasy-styled bar before this week ... Thankfully I've now visited because the food, service and atmosphere are each flawless - in fact, it's worth visiting for the 3-cheese toastie (or red ale brews) alone

This place has quality service and staffs with awesome character. Drinks were made and served with pleasure. Oysters came out slightly late even though fresh, but that was fixed with a quick ask from the staffs. Followed up and came almost immediately. Super fresh oysters, slightly on the more expensive side. But you're paying for the experience and environment.

Very cool underground bar. Literally You walk down some stairs and i think its under the road. Good service. Nice drinks. Lots of candles and cool but dark lighting. The place is really well decorated, Even the toilets are cool. They have a nice little stage which makes me assume there are live bands here at times. Check this place out.

Live music Saturday evenings. Large cocktail list. Didn't like the cocktails though. Had the upside down pineapple cake which is meant to have milk extract because the drink is funnelled through milk or something. Didn't like the strawberry jam one either But margarita was ok. Service Is quick. Limited seating.

Was very busy when I went and took over 20mins waiting at the bar to get a drink. Very few bartenders for the amount of people there. Cover charge for the band that didn't really play for that long. Had 1 drink and left. Old fashion 23+aud. More

One of Melbourne’s best bars. Live music and amazing cocktails. Though the music is always way way too loud. You can’t hear the person sitting beside you, I’d suggest turning it down…

Impressive bar. Very popular seating given to parties of 5 or more. Apparently this cool downstairs bar used to be a bank.incredible live music. Very pricy drinks but well worth it for the experience.

A hidden gem in Melbourne CBD. I love hidden bars so much and finding them is the most exciting thing to do. It’s right outside the shopping centre, but doesn’t have obvious signs to guide.

2023: Good range of cocktails and music, over candle lights. Gets busy for those very reasons. Get yourself a $240 cocktail, if you're that way inclined.
