TL/DR: Best Buy sells warranties and does not back them up. Original Review: I purchased a laptop there yesterday. I was helped by Arman who was very patient with my questions and rather helpful as well. The store was getting slammed but he was calm and happy despite probably having been on his 12th hour of work. It was a big sale so they likely have long shifts for those days. I didn't feel like anything sneaky was going on, which is sometimes how I feel when I'm making a large purchase with a salesperson. He seemed genuine and grateful to be able to speak with me as a customer. The deal on the laptop was great too, I can't wait to try it out. Thank you! Edited Review: It turns out something VERY sneaky was going on! The 4 year warranty that I purchased for over $200 was explained as a warranty that literally covered anything that went wrong with the laptop and all I would have to do would be bring in the broken laptop and get store credit within the 4 year period. When I showed up with the laptop and the receipt to do exactly that, I had to talk to 9 different people (one of whom laughed in my face) before it was properly explained that I was lied to by a Best Buy employee and that there is no way that Best Buy would ever sell a warranty like that. After 1.5 hours in the store Team Lead Medina said I could send it for repairs and maybe the Geek Squad would say its not worth fixing, and then I would get store credit. But if they repaired it, then I would be stuck with the laptop (which, having a newer and better laptop already, would be very frustrating) and have no other recourse. That was presented as my best option, or I could trade it in for 1/5th of the original price, or I could SELL IT MYSELF on the internet. Wow. So I sent it with the Geek Squad as was suggested. Shockingly (not) I now have a repaired laptop I do not need, and no store credit. Suffice to say, I feel deceived and will not be making any future purchases from Best Buy. I would advise that if you ever buy anything here, do not bother buying a warranty. Both when I dropped the laptop off and picked it up other dissatisfied people were in line at the store with similar warranty issues. Basically, Best Buy sells you a warranty and does not back up their end of it.

I bought this 85 inch TV and after insisting by the agent I also got the Geeksquade protection plan of 4 years. After 2 Years TV started behaving bad in terms of display, when I requested Geeksquade they said they will send 3rd party to home to investigate, however 3rd party asked me to send pictures of the issues since they could not come home due to tight schedule(that's the reason they gave) so after me sending the pictures, they passed the judgment stating its a physical damaged, however the concern was never about physical damage and the issue was about display issue from the manufacturer, but they keep insisting its a physical damage without coming to my home and investigating, but after back and forth and requesting, some one came to my home and concluded its not a physical damage, when I stared this to store manager they never responded untill I informed them I will register complaint. Ints been 4 weeks and the issue is not resolved and every time I call them they say it's under review. It's so heart breaking to see this Geeksquade protection plan is on my file under all the devices I have purchased with them, looking at the serrvice its heart crunch, now I am planning to register a complaint with consumer court. In other words think before getting any kind of insurances. NOTE: I could not reply to below response so writing here, even though you are asking me to go to that link however all of that I have gone through and still to date the issue is pending, I kindly request to look in to this concern as soon as possible tha k you. Jan 19 2023 : Update on this issue, still no response if in case if I get response then it's a half baked response no head and tail to that response, store lead needs to build and consider seriousness in handling the response, I will post all the chats here soon to showcase how they behave in the name of professionalism utter joke any ways will keep posted so that this can helpful others to make a wise decision.

When I tell you the management in this store is beyond horrible, believe me. Hussain (the store manager) and Cody (an assistant manager) are both completely uninterested in doing their jobs. They never respond to emails, never call, and are on vacation apparently more than they actually work. I spent close to $20,000 on a home theatre system here in June 2022, and I have yet to have it or have an answer on where the rest of my items are. I literally only got 2 speakers installed out of my order. Oh and not to mention, they already started my 12 months financing since July for an order I don't have. Rubab was my sales person and she was great when she was trying to sell me the system, but became beyond horrible when I purchased. DON'T EVER BUY ANYTHING FROM HER. Would stop answering, would never return calls either. As the date of my install approached, she informed me my whole order was in. Then, as the days became closer and closer to my install date, more and more of my items magically disappeared until all I was left with was 2 speakers out of 9 speakers, a projector, a projector screen, a subwoofer, and the system that they hook up to. It is now almost November 2022, and I have yet to have my system. Hussain and Cody were so on top of it and apologetic when it happened and promised to rectify it, 5 months later, here we are. When I walk into the store to see what is happening with my order, they hide in the back (especially Cody who has disappeared since July). I receive maybe 1 response to my emails every 8-10 weeks from them, unless I walk into the store. Don't ever buy anything from here. I am going in person in a week, and if this is not rectified, I am legitimately taking legal action against them.

I visited this location twice in the past week. On my first visit, I dealt with an unmasked employee who was nice. I'm personally uncomfortable with a lack of mask and had to keep stepping back to keep my distance. Regardless, he was a very nice guy and I bought a laptop from him. On my second visit, I was there to return the aforementioned laptop. When I got home, I realized there was no numeric keypad. This wasn't the fault of the salesperson; just my lack of foresight. When I came into the store, I felt very pressured by the front greeter to look at another product instead of returning, even though I explained I had done a great amount of research into what was available. I was directed to a second salesman who was masked and did show me some other options. I decided to further debate and still proceed with my original return plan. The cash had one staff member and customer service had one staff member. I did wait over 10 minutes in line to return, as there was only one staff member who was processing returns. This was a bit annoying, as there were numerous staff on floor, including at least two pairs chatting. It would be helpful to have three staff available on cash - one for main cash, one for customer service, and then one other cross-trained on both stations. Finally, my husband asked me to look into a screen protector for his Google Pixel 5 and unfortunately they had none in stock. This isn't a complaint really as much as just an additional unfortunate circumstance. We did return home and later purchased a screen protector 3-pk from Amazon.

If I could give zero stars, I would. Best Buy is exactly what NOT to do when running a warranty program. TLDR: Waited over a month for a tv exchange under warranty. After a lengthy and frustrating run around, they only gave my money back when my credit card company was going to dispute the charge of the replacement tv I bought. 1 week for technician to come over and say they’ll need to replace the entire unit, 3 weeks of hell dealing with the call centre. My experience: Receiving no updates from Best Buy throughout the process. Best Buy call centre employee telling me within a week they can see the refund is approved, giving a confirmation code to go into store to use, and saying to call their call centre if store cannot see it. Best Buy couldn’t even help their own in-store employees. So I had to wait longer. Receiving call from their Calgary location to make the exchange there (I’ve never been to Calgary). So more run around. Not having any supervisors or managers available in their call centre, to escalate. Managers not calling you back within a week, let alone within their 24h service standard. Absolutely archaic system, had to go into the store for the refund, Best Buy, a tech company, does not offer any other means of sending payment to their customers After all of this, no compensation or “sorry” for this joke of a process. Never buying from you again.

Don’t buy any Protection Plan or Extended Warranty from Best Buy. It is a BIG SCAM!!! I purchased a Dyson V7 2 years ago for $509 and they convinced me to purchase a protection plan for $100 promising that it covers everything with 100% in labour and parts as stated in their website. The Vacuum stopped working due to the battery not recharging. I returned the Vacuum to have it repaired and was told that the battery is not covered. So that means they scammed me to purchase a $100 Protection Plan for the sake of protecting a piece of plastic stick??? Why would I need a Protection Plan when it doesn’t cover the mechanism. Buying any electronics from Costco is way better, and secure. Costco will take ownership of any problems with any of their electronics including computers, phones, TVs, appliances, and most of all without any Protection Plan. Never buying anything from Best Buy or spending a penny there. I’m proceeding in filing a complaint to the Better Business Bureau and will go all the way to file a consumer complaint to Consumer Protection Ontario and then go for a small court claims if I have to. Best Buy should take ownership of this and either repair, replace, or refund, otherwise they lost credibility. This for sure will jeopardize their Brand Image as it’s No More a Best Buy it is a Worst Buy!

I don't like to make negative comments or reviews. But in this case I feel compelled to. The shelves were poorly stocked. GAO's everywhere. I thought that perhaps this was a result of the Christmas and Boxing Day madness, however, it's February now and it simply shows poor management as far as I'm concerned. I had a hard time finding anyone to assist me. It seemed that all of the staff that I saw (sorry to all of the hard workers that I'm making a blanket statement) were a little too relaxed and looked as if they don't give a hoot. Then I arrived at the cash registers. 7 registers. 9 customers in line. 1 cash register open. I waited approximately 12 minutes to get to the attendant, upon which she asked me "would you like to purchase this?". I didn't have a comeback for that one. What I wanted to say was "no, I don't want to purchase this item, I'm simply here to waste my time and cause myself frustration". This would have been the only appropriate response. I now see why buying online from other companies is becoming the norm. I would rather wait a couple of days than deal with lazy and inept idiots. I think my Best Buy days are numbered. Realistically, it should be that particular branch manager's days that should be numbered.

I went to this location yesterday December 8th looking to get my money back from them ripping me off $150 of purchasing a big screen TV on sale then when I brought up the receipt and that they marked me higher than I was supposed to receive the product that they that told me that that was not true that's not what wasnt there yesterday and I said yes it was and then he claimed that he changes it every day or every Friday and I said are you calling me a liar and he said yes then he went to go get his manager that was a female then she came over with a big smile on her face and I said I don't understand what's so funny hes smiling you're smiling I don't get it why are you smiling about the situation when I'm clearly been ripped off she said the only person that's upset here is you not us we're happy I said you're happy that I got ripped off that amuses you she then told me to get out well my baby in hands long story short I was assaulted by an employee with him putting his hands on me while I had a baby in arms also verbally assaulted by the female screaming security when I had a baby in arms and there were six of them and one female this is outrageous and they'l be in another lawsuit pending

Purchased a new laptop less than a year ago with a 4 year warranty for parts. Went to the store the first time and said parts (charger) were part of the warranty but had non in stock and told me to leave my laptop with them for 3 weeks . I said no that I would get my charger, bring it in and they can order it. Went on-line to place the order instead and was told that they are not able to order it and would have to order it myself from the manufacturer. This was not acceptable so I went back to the store and asked them to order it because I did know what I was ordering. Previously I was told I could order, pay and have it delivered to Best Buy and I will be reimbursed, that is no longer the case. Depending who you talk to, its a different story. They sold me a laptop, told me it was the best but they neglected to tell me that parts were very difficult to order. They carry the laptop but not the parts. Finally after much frustration, I went to The Source at Bayshore, dealt with a nice gentleman, Abrar, and he gave me some great advice. Why did The Source have a solution but 6 Geeks had nothing. From now on, I am buying directly from the Apple store. Everything else is sub-par in my opinion.

I was looking to buy a wireless headset for my pc and was led to the wireless headphone area. I asked if there were any demo headphones out of the model I was looking at so that I could see if it fit well and was told no, because you can't return headphones once the box has been opened. The sales rep was very minimal in helping (not providing any helpful details unless prompted with a thorough line of questioning) and when I picked a headset in my price range (mid range: ~$140), the sales rep never mentioned that the headset I chose would require a seperately sold XBOX wireless adapter ($30). I only found this out once I was already home and had opened the box to read the instructions. Granted, Razer also had a very poor label because it says it works with Windows 10+ (with an astrics and small font saying that it MAY require the adapter, although this headset will not work in any way on PC without it). Luckily for me, they don't sell the adapter on its own and the only way to obtain it (including Amazon or Gamestop) is to purchase a $100 game controller. To add insult to injury, I do not like my headphones and am now browsing Amazon for a different headset.

There is no reason to purchase anything here. They used to be my go-to place for electronics, but they have become a lost cause these days. Customer support is non-existence, return policies are unreasonable, and prices are higher than Amazon, Newegg and Costco. Here is my latest and most likely last experience with them. I purchased an internal SSD, and it didn’t work. After confirming with customer support that I could return it to the store, I bought a second one from their website and installed it to get my PC fixed. However, when I returned the non-functioning SSD card after a week to the store, they refused to take it back. The fact that I had the second SSD card installed and working proves that the first one was faulty, and still they did not accept return confirmation. If I wanted to deal with the manufacturer, I would use Aliexpress or Gearbest websites for half the cost. There is no reason to pay Bestbuy to be in the middle, collecting the money for no service. Unless you cannot wait a day for Amazon shipping and cannot find the part in Staples or Costco, don’t go here.

Went this evening to buy a Bluetooth speaker. Greeted at the front by a lady and asked if we are looking for anything specific. Upon answering directed to the spot where all the Bluetooth speakers are. A lady with Halloween costume accompanied us and said she’ll send someone to help us finding one we’re looking for. 10 minutes and I saw people who work there went by but nobody ( I mean not a single soul) did not even bother to ask if we need any assistance. After waiting for over 10 minutes ran to the front lady asked for the manager. Even the manager whose name is Khaled came after a minute and apologized and said we’re short staffed. Even one girl was right at the spot when entered the Bluetooth speaker section saw us coming, and just walked by as if we are nobody. If this the level of customer service you get walking in a big box store, I say either find the right people who can customer service with respect and care or else close the shop. I am utterly gutted and disgusted!!!!

Good morning..am very frustrated with the service of your company. Even with extended warranty the service is garbage. Our Hisense tv burned out one day, Hagopian technicians came gave a timeframe when they were coming by and when the report will be submitted..all of that happened and your lousy company didn't even make the effort to contact us and tell us what the issue is. Contacted your tech support put us on hold and than we find out it will take ANOTHER WEEK before we get assistance. Is it because we aren't members or JUST BECAUSE. WHY IN GOD'S NAME DO WE HAVE EXTENDED WARRANTY IF NO SERVICE IS GIVEN. Before all this happened my husband carried the tv to the store here in Ottawa and was told that it wasn't necessary. Should put your website. You said you are reliable but you are lousy and unprofessional. WE DON'T WANT TO WAIT ANOTHER WEEK.. Why are we paying for extended warranty. NEVER AGAIN..HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE

So tired of incompetence at this place. A person greets you and ask what are you looking for today? I say a digital audio wire. She replies right down the store where it says computer. I say, a digital audio cable can be found there? Yeap, in the computer. I doubt it but go there. Of course it is not there. It should be with the speakers and TV. And I found it there. Then I go to the cashier, no one is there but there 5 persons around the returns, 3 working on a case the 2 others doing whatever. And there are sellers walking by doing nothing. After 5 min, someone comes at the cash . behind me 4 customers have lined up. All this to say, train your staff, hire a few competent ones who are into electronics. I was a salesperson in a shop too when I was young and I knew everything about what we sold and what we had in the store. No wonder people shop on line after this experience.

Horrible experience picking up a simple cable, after 25min it wasn't ready and for whatever reason they couldn't get it so she said she could cancel my order and just sell me it, she assured me I wouldn't be charged. She didn't cancel my order and I was charged twice for the one cable. I went back to talk to her and she assured me again I wasn't charged for the item even though my bank account told me I was. This is now around an hour after ordering a simple VGA cable, I am now frustrated, and have been charged for two cables with the money still out even though she promised this was not a possibility. I will NEVER shop at Best Buy again..... Although I'm sure I'll be back there tomorrow to fix their mistake. Edit: money still not in my account next day of course..... Guess I'll have to waste more time time today to go in and ensure best buy doesn't steal my money.

I bought all of my home appliances from Best Buy recently. I’m facing so many issues to get items delivered and installed. Firstly, I had a very bad experience with the delivery as the first attempt of delivery being canceled due to site being dangerous to deliver( new construction home) it was laughable when they did it but couple of days later it was delivered without any complaint by some other guys on the same site. They basically ruined all my plans when they missed the delivery. Need to check on the guys who attempted the first one. Second complaint - now the delivery has been made, it’s been a week that I haven’t received any date for installation. I called multiple times and every time I hear that my case has been escalated. Not sure what is happening. I wish I could go back and buy appliances or the services from a different vendor.

Terrible service and customer service. Don't waste your money. Dont' buy from them. I had placed an order with them to get shipped to me, on Dec 20th, 2022, for Christmas, and said it would arrive Dec 23rd. Then we had that terrible snowstorm, so redelivery was set for Dec 28th, 2022. I have never received my package. Customer service has told me their method for giving me a refund for a package not received was to first contact Canada post and told me they would get back to me in 12 business days. They didn't get back to me and told me when I reached out again, they would need 4 more weeks. It's now been 58 days and they have said I have to file a complaint with Canada post, not them. They are not giving me back my money, on my credit card with interest accruing and I am without the product. Terrible. Don't buy from them.

I would put zero stars if I could. Jinsong who’s a “team lead” has terrible customer service. I went to return an adapter that wasn’t the right fit. A lady was going to do my return to which JINSONG yelled at her to go count the cash. He proceeded to do the refund to which it was a $50 product but on the pos system it stated it was $14 . I explained to him it was the wrong refund and he told me “it’s okay just sign” and started yelling at me to sign. There was no spot to sign it just said to insert my card , even though it wasn’t even the right refund. Jinsong kept walking away and not even explaining the refund or what card it was going to be put on. I was a supervisor for 3 years and if I did this kind of behavior I would have been fired. Jinsong has absolutely the worst customer service I have ever experienced.

This is what happens when you buy a laptop from this Best Buy location. I had a laptop on my backpack that had been off for an entire day spark and cause a housefire through no fault of my own. The fire caused over 50,000 dollars worth of damages and because there was no warranty on the laptop Best Buy is absolving themselves of the responsibility of selling dangerous items Stuart could have potentially harmed someone. I lost all of my possessions and Best Buy cannot even replace the faulty and da dangerous laptop they sold me. After many deliberations with geek squad and the store employees at this they condescendingly told me it was my fault and my responsibility even though the laptop was off and in a safe space. This store does not care about the products they sell nor the people they sell them too.

After going to the location in Orleans twice being ignored during both of our visits, we went to the Merivale location because we were told the selection was larger. We were shopping for a refrigerator. When we walked in we were immediately greeted by Shefali and another associate (I'm sorry, I don't remember your name) who helped us find the perfect refrigerator. They even stayed past closing to ensure we could complete our purchase. The level of customer service in this store is a culture. We were treated so well, even by staff that we interacted with who were not part of our sale. Highly recommend this location. I will be driving 30 minutes to this location for my next purchase, even though I work right beside the location in Orleans. Thank you for your help.

I went to BestBuy online and bought a Samsung S20 cellphone. It arrived but couldn't connect to the Bell network. I called Bell and the tech support stayed on the line with me for 30 minutes trying to make the phone work, to no avail. I emailed the seller back saying the phone won't connect to the Bell network and would like to return the phone but they wouldn't take it back right away, they wanted me to jump through a bunch of hoops before taking the phone back. The back of the phone is made of glass which cracked somehow, so now I'm stuck with a phone that won't work and that I cannot return cause the back is cracked. I barely make enough to live on, thats why I bought an older discounted phone, now I'm out $440 and no phone. Never shopping with BestBiy again.

Very bad experience with best buy customer service. My card has been used by someone else without my authorisation for protection coverage so Im getting charges monthly, I called best buy customer care and they escalated the issue by providing me with a confirmation (case) number and asked to walk-in to a nearest best buy to get cancelled the subscription from my card without any cancellation fee. I bring my card and ID and case number but they said they can’t cancel the subscription. Even I’m the owner of the card and best buy customer service promised me with the case number they didn’t helped me to take off my card from that subscription. Please note guys, best buy will charge u to cancel the best buy product protection subscriptions.

I have the worst experience with this best buy store. I purchased a laptop which did cost 1200 cad. They charged me twice for the same item for no reasons and I called them they had no idea about this incident. I called my bank and they made sure that best buy took money twice from my account for same item. After calling 5 days they transferred my call to credit department and they told they took it twice for no specific reason and told they will put it back within 5-7 business days. The customer care has no idea about anything at all. Worst customer care. I would not recommend this store or best buy to purchase any item. If you want to buy something go directly to store or buy online through other websites. Best buy terrible service.

I bought a new phone and the guy talked me into signing up for the geek squad plan. He said i pay a monthly fee and if my phone is damaged they would repair it. A few months later the phone's camera stopped working for some reason and best buy is avoiding taking care of it. They keep making things up and I've been transferred to 5 different agents and each would tell me a different story. One also said i have to pay $200 upfront if i want it repaired. The sales guy never disclosed that. It's been 3 months and I keep being shuffled around and promised that a manager would call me and it never happened. Very dishonest people. I'm not letting this go. It's a scam and they depend on people just letting it go. I'm not one of those people.

Very bad employees because I’ve order from them a laptop a few days ago (because I have a college test coming up soon) and supposed to be delivered today i got the email that says it has been shipped so I went to pick it up. The problem is the employees there told me that we don’t have your laptop and it will be delivered after 4 days!!!!! Ok? What about the email I got ? I have a test tomorrow. what he said basically that I can’t do anything for you and you can leave now. The point of this message is not to just to show that Best Buy is a bad store or something no actually I know and you know that Best Buy is a big company and I know maybe no one care about what I’ve wrote but I hope they can be better. I was trying to help a customer by purchasing an item for them as they have mobility issues. I went to drop it off and when they opened the product to discover that Best Buy had sold a used product. It had been opened and poorly returned to the packaging and taped up terribly. I tried the customer service line but a supervisory will only call back within 48 hours! I tried to get resolution at the store but they simple returned it and weren't kind about it. I asked for a business card but the manager simple walked away and left one of her employees to deal with the return. I had to ask again for it. Go to Staples instead and save yourself the hassle. Better to shop where the products they sell are new and not used!

A couple of days ago, I went for a price match on TV I bought last month. The time I was buying the TV the girl told that she will give the discount on Geek Squad if you’d like to buy with TV, I said ok and she also gave the discount of 50$ and also waived off delivery charges that sounds a like an amazing deal. The girl played with me instead of giving discount on Geek Squad and delivery charges, she reduced the price of TV on an invoice. If I hadn’t purchased Geek Squad then the price of TV would be different on an invoice . On explaining things to them these guys are giving illogical reasons. Best Buy stop applying these worst strategies of selling Geek squad on customers or else you guys soon be sued.

I went here this afternoon (November 7, 2021) with 3 of my other friends. We’re from east Asia and 3 of us have a deeper skin tone. From the moment we walked in, I noticed that some staff were following us. We went all around the store and up until we were at the cashier, they followed us. At first I thought I was overthinking but I brought it up to my friends afterwards and they were thinking the same too. We all had an uncomfortable experience while shopping and something tells me it’s about our appearance since it seemed that we were the only ones being followed. For a few weeks my boss and I have been trying to get his ASUS laptop fixed. Best Buy was able to print a duplicate receipt since he couldn't find his, and provided several contact numbers to have his computer repaired since it had a big blue blot on the screen and his in store warranty was done. None of the numbers worked and all the website referrals didn't either. On the box there was a small label, see picture of ASUS ADP, and that contact number was amazing. Solved all our problems and I had a shipping label in 5 minutes. My 3 stars is because this is something the store should have referred us to and I'm hoping they give this to future customers with problems. The ASUS service was amazing.

Ok so first of all i want to thank Prakriti for her help in this store !!! .. from the beginning to end she made sure we have everything and answers all my questions.... We bough 2 phones. And we needed the best prices available..and we were lucky enough to be served by her.. Now... I'm a geek...and I.work in sales..I know my "thing" and I study it before a purchase. At that time and moment I felt lucky to have someone with that knowledge that could.help.me...her level of kindness and customer service is unmatched ! She was respectful, kind, understanding, friendly, and comforting as I am a bit of a nerve rack. Anyways, the level of professionalism was unexpected!!! Thank.you again Prakriti !!!!

"Just initial here ,here and here". Things have changed with Geek Squad so beware. I bought a DELL for $1400 a year ago which included service for a year. Then I got an email 8/01/2022 that said $380 was going to be taken out of my account for warranty? I stopped that and I just found another $38.90 was taken out the credit card I used to purchase it and I followed it up and this was going to be going on for another 16 months or a total of $1800 + 380= $2180 on top of what I paid for the laptop. This is bad practice. I trusted the sales rep. He had me initial things like it was just procedure. None of this was discussed. "Just initial here ,here and here". That was the discussion.

Absolutely the worst customer service! We bought a freezer and the end on July last year. It died 22 days later. After a repair person came to see it, I was told it needed to be replaced. We many phone calls (which always seem to last at least an hour), and at least 3 store visits attempting to get this resolved. Today, I was told they can exchange the 21cu that I bought for a 17cu at “no extra charge”. What?!? I said I don’t want the smaller freezer, I need the bigger one and I want a refund. They said they can’t give me a refund because it’s been too long! No kidding! I expressed my anger over this and insisted on a refund. Then the customer service agent hung up on me.

Horrible store. Purchased a product in April and realized the next day that I want to return it but because of lockdown the store was just operating in curbside pickup. The customer service representative told me to wait until the store gets open and then I can return it without any problem. So yesterday I walked in to the store to return my product and the guy over there directly told me that they won’t take it back just because the plastic wrap in which it was covered was missing. I mean seriously, I have my receipt with me and you are talking about this nonsense plastic wrap. The worst experience ever. I would never suggest someone to shop from here ever.

Really unhappy with their service. I purchased a Dell laptop in January nd its not even a year (just 8 months) and the frame of the screen separated from the screen. On approaching them they said it would be 100 dollars and another 100 dollars too for data backup (a total of 200 dollars) along with an extra charge for repair with a time period of 3 weeks. On approaching Dell they said they would repair it 'free of cost'. I am not happy with Best Buy at all as they did not address my concern and also were charging exorbitant prices just for an external damage, which they should have ideally done free of cost as it is not even a year since I purchased it.

Very disappointed with my most recent experience with Best Buy. I purchased an item at the store, but the order was supposed to be fulfilled by Best Buy online store. My order was shipped via Purolator. Unfortunately Purolator lost the item. I contacted Best Buy several times, but they never bothered to do anything to help or to solve the problem. Instead, they said I had to deal with the Purolator myself, which I did. Now, when I got a confirmation that the item had been lost and would not be delivered, Best Buy keeps insisting I need to wait more to get a refund, essentially forcing me to initiate a chargeback through my credit card issuer.

BestBuy had sold a TV to my late brother. The TV was never picked up as it was not ready before his passing. My mother has tried to be above board and inform all parties of his passing and can provide the death certificate, all to close the account and not leave anyone in the dark. Anyrate, Bestbuy will not refund the TV (financed through FairStone to which she is not a co-signer) Both BestBuy and FairStone are forcong the TV and account on my mother. This is utterly disgusting and unreasonable to force on my mother. Before the standard "please call/email us directly"... no, you had your chance. Correct this predatory disgrace now.

Wow. My jaw dropped at the attitude of 2 of 3 employees I interacted with (small appliances and customer service lol) at this store... rude and clipped, no explanation and no concessions. I came in to buy a 400 vacuum, when I asked to open the box to see the wand size because there was no floor model available. The answer was NO... kinda shocked because who wants to buy something they cannot see? I was told I'd have to pay for it first and they return if it wasn't what I wanted! Ha. I bought it cause I was under the gun, but that's my last purchase at this store. Really, management, you can't do better than these clowns?

I was shopping for major appliances. Needed a Fridge Stove and Dishwasher, I had a good idea of what I wanted and wasn’t getting the attention one should get when spending over $5,000 with other Big appliance competitors. Once I started to talk with Leelam from Best Buy on Merivale road location I felt like my business was appreciated and she was always attentive to help. Always following up with me through the delivery process, texting and calling, always there if I had questions. If you’re looking to buy appliances you must contact Leelam, you won’t be disappointed. Best buy is the WORST store ever! I ordered a phone for my daughter, and after 3 weeks of not getting an email with my confirmation number and no notification for when it might arrive, I called wondering when it might arrive. They told me that it got candled because they "didn't have any in stock" When i ordered they said that they had 7 left. Every Time i order from best buy i get disappointed, My family as well. I have had countless problems with best buy's employees, shipping and their insurance. Please don't waste your time with best buy, they only care about money not their customers.

Most Best Buys have good customer service, which speaks well of corporate policies, but the times I have visited this location I have been very impressed by the friendliness of staff - and especially the availability! Usually staff at any store are friendly but I was blown away that there were so many blue shirts around, and I don't think I saw almost any customer without a staff member helping them out. And the staff didn't just stand around or do other jobs: they were eager to help and asked what I needed without me needing to approach. Definitely an awesome experience.

Bad experience at support desk. Assistant couldn't get rid of me fast enough. I have bought an i-pad which I haven't owned before. I couldn't get the i-pad and keyboard to connect. The assistant did some stuff but didn't take the time to tell me what she'd done then told me it was working and went to to serve another customer, the only other person waiting. I had a couple of other questions, very brief which she didn't want to answer. I found her very rude. I will never shop at Bestbuy again and have put a notice on the board in my apartment building not to go there.

I purchased the appliances and some of them did not fit. The delivery guys said they won't be able to take them back and dropped it in the middle of my kitchen. I scheduled a return on the same day. 14 days later, it has become my full time job to call Best Buy to try to find out when would somebody be coming to pick the appliances up. The home delivery number either does not pick up or hang up (3 calls placed in half hour, somebody picks up and hangs up without talking) on me after saying they would look into it. Never will shop here again for anything.

Went in today to purchase appliances for our new home that is closing in 9 months. Faith was extremely helpful and knowledgeable. I have never had such a great experience in a retail store. I drove 15 minutes further to this store because I had another similar excellent experience when buying my laptop. I don't know what is going on at this store, but you are a far superior in customer service than all other retailers. If you are looking for appliances, Faith will give you a great price and the confidence you have made the right decisions.

See update: AVOID PURCHASING APPLIANCES AT BEST BUY. They are refusing to return or exchange them within the 30 days. I was told flat out they will not honor their own return policy. The representative submitted some case and told me someone will get back to me. What complete BS. I've been a customer of Best Buy for years, but this will be the last time buying anything from them. Update. Customer service worked with me to complete an exchange. There call center reps need better communication skills as they caused me unnecessary stress.

Sale rep pushed through a purchase for online item "bought in store" without properly showing me the spec's. It was not what I wanted, he was clear on what I was looking for. Returning the shipped item was an incredible hassle, a complete waste of time. I was purchasing one item in store, the second was not available. I have tried to give Best buy the benefit of the doubt. The first few times I purchased products from them (specifically computers). Every single computer I have purchased from best buy has consistently turned out to be a dud. These were computers specifically recommended to me by "knowledge best buy staff". Geek squad is even worse. With all my issued they did not honor their replacement policy and even when speaking with the Geek Squad manager he did not care enough to work with me to find a common ground solution.

Whereas in many previous visits to this location, the service has been very poor, yesterday my husband and I had an excellent experience. We were shopping in the Appliance Department for a new dishwasher and were fortunate to be dealing with Cory. He was helpful, well informed, pleasant, and willing to spend time with us to answer all our questions. Yesterday I went to inquire about iphone 13 pro max and that indian guy actions is NOT good. So obviously we sat down and had a good conversation regarding the pricing and he promised me with a good very pricing (including asking his boss) BUT as Iam gathering the information so that I complete my purchase he raised the price and said I would give it to another people AFTER we agreed on specific price. I haven't seen more horrible staff at a major store like this in Ottawa. Sales people were so annoying and not interested in selling. The guy at the entrance in the evening today was so scary as he shouted "do you need help" as if we were trespassing. And then when we made our purchase at the TV section, the middleeastern salesman near the Geek Sqaud was so annoying to deal with, as if he was doing a favor by selling to customers. 0 manners. Good company but they have hired very bad attitude supervisor. I spent a good amount at this store. Even during pandemic I try to stay local. But I guess this was my last time shopping. I went for a web order pick up. As well as saw price adjustment. Which I saw at Staples. Rather than explaining things nicely the supervisor very aggressive tone of voice. Don't go to geek squad here, especially the male service clerk, he will show you his frustrations towards you and asks his coworkers to help instead of him doing his job, it could have taken them 30 mins to help me but it took me well over 3 hrs of loss wages and I had to do everything myself on one of their computers. Will never shop at this best buy even if it's like 5 mins away. Why do you think there rating is so low? Bad service.

Always place pick up orders. There's noone at the order pickup counter and had to wait for about 10 min. And then, they never give you the paper copy of a receipt when you pick up and end up having to explain to the people at the front that you're picking up an order and are not shop lifting. Just give me the frickin receipt when I pick up an order. And figure out your own process so you don't hassle your customers.

Bought my laptop from best buy, unfortunately for whatever reason my laptop has a bad hard drive, even after they replaced it it was still running slow, they recommended I switch out the hard drive for and SSD, so I did and it works much better now, only had to pay for the parts since labour was covered under my plan. Only reason I'm giving a 4 star is cause they recommended me this laptop in the first place lol

I ordered a tablet for reserve pickup in store, but when I went to pick it up, I decided to have a quick look at the other tablets on display. The clerk came over right away. He talked about the pros/cons for a number of tablets. He was very knowledgeable. I ended up buying another brand of tablet because it better suited my needs. Was very happy with the service and recommendations . Tablet is great.

Very disappointing and misleading experience in store. The store incorrectly labeled/advertised multiple vacuums as another from the same brand, that was on sale for $200 less than the shelved one and SOLD OUT. Also, for a weekend, the cash was very understaffed, resulting in a significant wait time (just to find out about the misleading price tag and unavailability of the discounted vacuum).

I really like the redesign of their floor layout. Things are open and easier to find. Helpful staff, not pushy - just a friendly greeting and offer of assistance. They were quick to identify level of knowledge on a product and able to fill in the gaps that I didn't know.
