Have been going to their Saratoga bakery for a long time and switched things this time a bit and ordered a cake (and bought a bunch of slices on the day of pickup) from Bijan bakery in San Jose. Parking for sure is a pain to deal with when getting in there. Please do keep that in mind (though i have been luck that both the times that i went in there i found an empty parking slot on the street pretty close to the store). Have always been a big fan of their Burnt almond cake and this visit definitely was to pick another one of these for a birthday celebration later in the evening. The folks at the bakery were pretty welcoming and as well helped answer all my questions around the options for different slices of cakes that i saw , eggless options etc etc. Upon receiving the ordered cake along with the other slices that i had ordered, it got a bit overwhelming to take it all by myself to the car. The folks in there, lent me a helping hand by having one of the behind the counter personnel carry the cake with me while i carried the rest to the car. Friendly folks, wonderful ambience in there and an array of choices with each being one of its kind definitely gives you reasons more than one to be there and enjoy their offerings. Great place, a little odd in organization but great pastries and hot drinks. If you are looking for some pastries that are not overly sweet try this place! They have a good variety of European style (Persian really ) sweets, pastries and cakes. There is plenty of seating. They are fast and nice people too. When u enter you have to get a number from one of them old red and black things and they’ll call that to take your order do not spend time waiting aimlessly in line like us We did like their balck forest very much with a sweet saurry cherry jam on top! The place had a little bit of “i am a little old and semi-neglected “ vibe too. Cleanness: decent Seating: bar high tables, regular tables and lovely outdoor seating Price: on the pricier side but given the location it makes sense i guess People: nice and friendly Value: i’d have put it slightly on lower proces but good! Menu diversity: they have many pastry options and hot drinks were very diverse too! Food menu was relatively smaller but still more than what you’d expect from a cafe! They also had veryyy exciting looking baggeuts .

We were really looking forward to trying this place during our trip to San Jose. While they have a wide menu variety, the quality of their food is not worth the price. I got the vegetarian sandwich and the portion was small for the price. The avocado spread had absolutely no flavor. Also, I ordered a carrot juice but they ended up giving me an orange juice. When I told one of the employees, she gave me attitude and I just ended up keeping the juice because I didn't want to deal with that. She also kept ignoring us when we were trying to order. I also got a slice of the red velvet cake and it tasted like it was old and sitting in the refrigerator for a couple of days. Overall, the quality of their items is not worth the price and their customer service needs improvement.

If I can only eat them all! What a beautiful and delicious spread presented in a row of glass display fridges. Everything looks class A baked goodie. I got the cookies in small bites and hoping to taste one of the croissant variations on my next visit. This bakery is located right by the plaza across the fountain. I’m surprised it is not full of customers but perhaps it has got to do with the state of San Jose downtown where there is an abundance of spaces available for lease. No matter what, I’d like to spend a weekend here sipping coffee and obliterating a napoleon into pieces.

I live in Canada but my family is in California. Today is my grandmother's 91st birthday and I am lucky to be able to order a cake to have delivered to her on her 91st birthday. My dad sent me a picture of the black forest cake which is gorgeous and my family said it was delicious. I highly recommend Bijan Bakery & Cafe. Not only did they provide a wonderful cake, they also had candles as well. Thank you so very much for making this day very special for my grandmother. She said she will be expecting a bigger cake next year!

Ok I'm conflicted here , the inside of the Cafe is beautiful, but it needs some loving ( deep cleaning , bathrooms had no toilet paper and were pretty dirty ) the desserts look amazing and what we ordered tasted great but the tables were dirty , floors were in need of cleaning. It's a gem in need of care.

Very good bakery and within walking distance to all the hotels in downtown San Jose. Appreciated that they were the only ones open early on a Saturday because the nearby Starbucks & Peet's were not. For my breakfast I got a very simple ham & cheese breakfast bagel but I think their known for their pastries so I tried their French Horn! Delicious! So if you're in San Jose on a weekend and want an early coffee save yourself a trip and just walk over to Bijan

There was still a good selection left in the evening when I went around 6pm on a weekday. I bought 2 fruit tarts, an eclaire and a cream puff for my clients. Spent $25. They especially loved the fruit tarts but also loved the other two, as well. I was eyeing the burnt almond cake and it was about $42. Looked so good and I want to go back for it

Couldn't wait to finish my breakfast to start writing this review. I ordered a ham and cheese croissant and a regular latte. The croissant is exquisite, it really melted in my mouth. The latte is pretty standard, everything I expected in a latte. I came in at 7 am so is was not busy, perfect for eating in. It really feels like an European Bakery. The are so many options. Good thing for the travelers: there's wifi. By the way, I finished my sandwich.

I love this place, not only is the ambience perfect but the seating options are just a nicer variant to most places in San Jose. I feel like I'm back in Europe or the Middle East. It's got good urban flare without being over the top. The pastries are superb and the best place to get a cake with a little je ne sais quoi for an event. Perfect for a coffee date as well

I ordered Kotlet sandwich, it was just a mushy ground meet with lot of fat. I could eat only half I trough it out the rest. I also ordered rollet and half pound Almond cookies. Top of it very good but the uncooked bottoms we carved out. My worst experience with a persian sweet food restaurant.

Came on a bustling Friday afternoon. Quick and amicable staff, food was ready within five minutes. First impression left me wanting to eat everything. The Bakery has plenty of pastries to choose from as well as sandwiches. Ordered the turkey panini (comes with their original bread) and it was tasty and filling. The chocolate (chip?) crossaint is a fantastic dessert choice.

This place is amazing! Had a veggie sandwich and the ingredients were so fresh! The freshly squeezed juice is amazing! My daughter loved the Hot chocolate!!! Customer service was great as well. The young lady had patience with us when ordering as we very picky eaters. Highly recommend and we definitely will be back!!!!

Great location. You need to fond a parking spot though. Same as any Bojan in the Bay Area. I feel it a bit bigger and spacious where you can take a great coffee with a great croissant it a good tea. We usually request a birthday cakes here because they do it very well. We ordered one I hope it will be good as we liked. I highly recommend this place.

I wish I had tried one of the many beautiful and delicious looking desserts. I did get a ham and provolone croissant sandwich and it was very very good! Nice quick lunch. I ordered it to go but kinda wish I had eaten there because it was a lovely atmosphere.

Love this place for all the cakes are tasty. The mango mousse cake is my favorite. I always get by the slice when we visit and got the mid size cake to celebrate a birthday! I would give 5 stars but on some visits I felt (not always the case) that service personnel could be a little more polite. I think that would make the whole experience a lot sweeter

Pleasant cafe enjoyed both the food and the drinks. We had a lemon tart, and a chocolate drizzled croissant eclair with vanilla filling. I like the tart more, my wife liked the other best. I also tried a eggnog latte, that was fantastic! Perfect for the chilly weather before Christmas. Prices a little high, but they have a wonderful selection of food.

Not at all reliable for preorders. We preordered a cake for a birthday party a day before the party. They canceled our order without ever notifying us. Thankfully, we had Instacart to the rescue and could order another cake from Instacart at the eleventh hour. If not for that, we would be celebrating a birthday without the cake.

I used like going there before they hiked the prices, took away water, and cut back on plastic ware. On top of this , they look like they don't want to serve you, even rude. I think the owner doesn't care about customers anymore, he is probably wealthy to worry about it now.

I was expecting really good bakery items from this place especially looking at the crowd there. We waited for almost 20-30 mins for our number to be called. The pastries were pretty basic and were not as fresh as I would expect them to be. They seemed refrigerated more than they needed to be. The coffee was okay!

Stumbling to this place by mere coincidence made our breakfast extremely enjoyable. The croissants are light and flaky, coffee was made to perfection and staff was pleasant. Come early or else the line is out the door.

Their location being in downtown San Jose can be challenging at times but it’s totally worth the quality bake. Last week picked up a couple of boxes of pastries, danish, croissants, muffins, and few more. They were all delicious . Lightweight and melted in mouth. Service was fast and friendly.

Easily the worst coffee downtown. I've never had such off and odd tasting coffee before. They don't wash anything and all their stuff is old and crusted. Blended drinks are served with all the ice melted. Slow service and overcharged items.

Dig the pastries, and this never fails to disappoint. Amazing stuff. Bought a French horn for my cousin, and a raspberry tart for myself. Bought two large macarons for the both of us, great. It's within walking distance of all the DTSJ hotels, and the Cesar Chavez Park is right next to it.

The food is excellent, and the locale is spotless. (Make sure you are approaching the right door; they have two entrances across the aisle from each other.)

Such an amazing restaurant. Usually will eat here with fanimecon comes around. They are busy, bakery is fresh, and the team there is nice. When you order it's a number base and the wait is not bad and gives me Harry Potter vibes. Check it out and enjoy.

One of the best dessert places in downtown. They have variety pastries, tarts and other bakery items. I personally loved blackforest pastry, guava mousse and my absolute favourite, fruit tart. The ambience is cozy to have a good cup of coffee. ☕️

Visited based on the google reviews but disappointed. Tried some cake slices which are very horrible, they were so dry and felt like they are about to be spoiled. Shocked to see such a low quality food for 8$ a slice. Wont recommend.

Bijan bakery started from humble beginnings a long time ago, focused on very good quality sweets, pastries and cakes. The presentation and taste is unmatched and I highly recommend trying all of their delicious goods.

This place was extremely crowded when i was there, around 8:30pm on a Sunday night. There was an Anime Convention taking place which could explain some of the higher traffic.

I have had a couple of delicious cakes at Bijan. Today I was told Strawberry Shortcake very good..Unfortunately not the best. Will I return, absolutely.

2pm to 5pm is Happy hours so you can enjoy the muffin and croissant in half price. The coffee cookie and the pistachio mouse cake is fantastic.

Excellent decaf drip coffee. Strong and bold just like its caffeinated cousin. The almond biscotti was a nice, not too sweet, pairing.
