Bunch of crooks, AVOID Then let me refresh your memory jay b, Black Citroen C4 VTR+ you sold (Mrs Robertson in May 2013) with after some investigation due to the fact the rear brake pads totally failed, had an advisory on the MOT that you failed to disclose (or give us a copy of the real MOT certificate that I obtained later not just a printout from the DVLA website saying it had a MOT) stating the brakes were worn before and during the sale, something which from a safety aspect is quite a serious thing not to tell your customer and we wouldn't have accepted the car until the brakes had been rectified had we'd actually been told this. On further investigation it seems this was also an advisory when the car was released by Motability, so you must've known the brakes needed replacing when you put it on your forecourt. I've been in contact with the MOT station and have a copy of the advisory clearly stating the brakes were worn if you want to argue this point, this left us with a repair bill of £480 as all the discs and pads after a very thorough examination had to be replaced by my local garage because the car was deemed too dangerous to drive with the brakes in their current state, which after informing you of this, you agreed to pay the cost of the parts as a "goodwill gesture" after I disputed your "fair wear and tear" argument. 5 months on Mrs Robertson is STILL waiting for the cheque you agreed to send as per the numerous phone calls I made to Dean on this matter back in August 2012 so ask him. You've also ignored countless emails and phone calls from Mrs Robertson on this matter and now she's asked me to deal with it, as she's fed up with you guys messing her about and this was the only course of action left which might generate some sort of response. How does that sound?, remember now? If you send the cheque you promised back in August I'll remove the comments, but until then they will stay. To all the people who have contacted me about this, I've posted the details so hopefully now Birchwood might realise they can't mess people about and not expect any consequences. I'd also like to point out I'm not being malicious, just a truthful experience we've had with Birchwood and their false promises and their "goodwill gesture"which so far is more like them sticking two fingers up at their customers, so it's up to them now to sort it out by sending the cheque to cover some of our expenses that they promised months us ago. No doubt they'll still ignore this as they only seem to contact you when you show any interest in their cars and if they still have no recollection of this car, I'll send them the sales receipt along with the garage bill and the other evidence.

Asked to send a parts would do it myself, but been again refused… Have no choice just to take to court, which is I am already contacted my solicitor… Not gonna let to get away this people with they lies, no metter what is that going to cost me!!!! Ok, if you want me to tell you the whole story? The story is, I came to you to view the car. The front parking sensors wasn’t working. After a test drive, I opened the bonnet, the oil was leaking all over the engine. While you told me this was old oil. But it wasn’t. You decided to keep the car for repair for a week. After that week, you delivered the car with the same oil leak. And the parking sensors went from bad to worse. Your mechanic took the paint off from the parking sensors and put a white sticker on top. As I provided the picture to you. You decided to send me to a local garage to fix the problems. The garage that I did recommend, he wasn’t my mechanic. I did know him as a mechanic. Again, he did an MOT for me. All I asked him was to find the problems with the car and fix them. I didn’t ask him to charge you with £1800. Probably, he doesn’t cut corners like your mechanic does. You didn’t have to go to that garage. There are hundreds of different local garages around here. You’re just giving me many excuses to not repair the car. I have offered you, sent the parts, I would fit it with the local garage but you didn’t accept that and you decided to desperately take the car and repair it yourself. Yet you couldn’t do that either, besides the fact I don’t trust your mechanic either due to the last repair. If you genuinely want to sort this problem, A: send me the parts(vacuum pump, parking sensors, turbo charged pipe), I’ll go to the garage myself. B: I will go to the garage, repair the car and send you the invoice. If you don’t agree with these two options, I will have my full refund. Note that if you want to make this argument any longer, I can provide all the text messages that you have sent to me.

Just purchased my new car from Birchwood Motors, a five year old ford kuga. Normally I do not write reviews but felt compelled after stumbling across the Google reviews. My experience from start to finish was seemlessly easy with total professionalism shown throughout. I am not afraid to admit being a self confessed car buff and one equipped with in my opinion quite a bit of knowledge. So I found it extremely refreshing to visit a dealer that demonstrated a sound understanding and passion about their cars. I mention this as having purchased around twenty cars in my lifetime through various channels, there is nothing worse than somebody clearly just trying to do the hard sale and just take your money. I took the car for a road test, opened up the bonnet, checked everything over that I needed to and with all of my questions I was greeted with answers that satisfied and justified my eventual purchase. The finance option I found also to be a bonus with competitive rates at my time of purchase that were available. In summary I would definitely recommended this company. I have always been slightly apprehensive with car dealership and in the past have gone down the private purchase route. However after so many bad experiences in the past I am so pleased to have finally used a local dealer and put to bed my own prejudices regarding dodgy second hand car dealers. For anyone reading through the reviews all I can do is comment on my individual experience which was excellent. I liken anything I buy and the corresponding reviews to trip advisor and the hotel reviews available. You need to try something out for yourself as we all have different expectations regarding service/quality etc. If your looking for a good quality vehicle, competitive pricing and a professional service then I suggest you look no further.

Had my car for approximately 5wks. Have had issues for last 2 wks. Have been back to site few times now. Couldn't give me curtesy car, as yet, but hoping to get one. I've got a child with disabilities so need car to get to and from school. However.. car has completely packed up today... is booked in for next wk to get repaired..but car has other idea's ‍♀️ I've been told car is being picked up tomorrow. Which is great.. just hope I get a curtesy car. After all its not my fault iys become faulty. Ongoing saga... Will update... and yes staff are helpful###### So heres an update... Car got picked up on the Monday.. I got a courtesy car the Friday before. Got my car back on the following Monday. I asked what was wrong with it and didn't feel like I got a full explanation. However, my car has started making the noise again.. same as before.. I emailed yesterday asking for kelvin or Mitchell to call me back and nothing.. no phone call or email... Guys... a response would be good. Communication is the key!!!!!! I'll be taking my car to my garage for a full going over... would seem y saga continues.# ###UPDATE### I've taken the car back and got full refund today. Its definitely unwell and needs lots of help. Had a diagnostic by Allen fords.. and it they just confirmed that the car needed lots of work done to it.. Obviously birchwood wasn't happy with the diagnosis, however they refunded me and terminated our contract. Going forward... I would suggest that birchwood learn to communicate and respond to emails and phone calls. Number plate. GJ14 BVK blue Ford focus. Has serious issues. Avoid.... £11,000 car, wheel squeaking, filler cap broken, air con hissing, turbo leaking oil, all within 30 days. This turbo failure is a £2500 repair job. I have given them the opportunity to fix this issue and it is still there. I had asked to return the car, and get another one with them. They agreed, but each time I emailed them about a car, they ignored me. Eventually They said they would fix it. Gave me a courtesy car instead. Told me to come back 2 weeks later. I have got it back, turbo still leaking oil, driver side wheel still squeaking. Got a mechanic to look at it to had been told it hadn't even been removed. I was told by BMC they would take it to a Mercedes Benz specialist. I had asked for evidence that the Turbo has been swapped, and they had no proof to give me, no paperwork, invoices or anything and told I can have the invoice for the repair at the end of the month. After asking Please can I have the business name and number where this repair was done as I think the turbo had only been cleaned, I received "The mechanic may have got an opinion on the turbo and was probably advised a clean would have sufficed." It took 2 weeks to clean it, and they didn't fix the leaking turbo, they didn't fix the squeaking wheel or the air conditioning. I am now trying to reject the vehicle through MotoNova, which can take up to 8 weeks but in the meantime I'm stuck with a £11,500 car, with a turbo leak which costs £2500 to fixthey took 2 weeks to clean. They also lied on the Finance application, they upped the price of the car by £500 said I paid a £500 deposit, when I actually didn't, as it makes it "look better for the finance application"

Unfortunately I have had a disappointing experience with Birchwood Motor Centre. The car was delivered in good condition, however I received only one key and no documentation to evidence that it had a full service history. This was in spite of verbal confirmation I had received prior to purchase that the car had two keys and a full service history, which are points that I have always asked about before purchasing previous cars and motorbikes. As the car is keyless entry and engine start, I received a quote for £425 from the manufacturer to replace the key. Over the four weeks following purchase I exchanged messages with Birchwood Motor Centre who promised various options such as discussing the issue with an independent car key provider, however no solution was provided. In the last three weeks they stopped replying to my messages altogether. The result is an additional unexpected cost of £425 to the car purchase to obtain a second key, as well as a reduced resale value of the car as I am unable to provide a full service history. I am disappointed with these unanticipated costs and that the dealership was not more up front about these issues prior to purchase, and after this experience I cannot say that I would recommend purchasing a car from this dealership.

Don't bother, you'll get screwed! I bought a car from here and got completely screwed over. Called in advance to book test drive on a £5k car, they'd put the price of the car up by £200 when I arrived. Wouldn't negotiate much. Shook hands at a the price i'd originally seen it for, with the agreement they would do the MOT and fix some broken things. Went to collect a week later and they denied knowledge of agreeing it despite confirming on the phone that it had all been done, but I'd already paid the deposit and waited a week, needed the car. They also lied about the mileage (it was 6,000 more than they said) and when they promoted it with 'Full Service' history, they neglected to say that the last service was 2 years ago and it had done another 30,000 miles since then! Ended up costing me an additional £250 to get the MOT and service done with parts and fixes. They also didnt tell me that the AUX port doesnt work and according to my garage, it would cost more than the car is worth to fix it. My boyfriend is now buying a car and spending around the £10k mark. NO WAY will we be going here. Theyve missed a sale and i hope this review means they miss a lot more!

Terrible service. Was lied to and ignored for MONTHS. I bought the car under a promise that the rust, lights and grill would be replaced. However, although they held the car for a week after I purchased it to 'fix' the stated issues, it arrived at my house in the exact same state I left it in. Months later after weekly ignored calls, it has finally been fixed. I was constantly told that I would receive a call back, however this of course never happened. When they then made a mistake in regards to the date of my appointment, instead of apologising, they then blamed me. They told me that they had ordered the grill that I had requested however when it was returned to me it was a different colour. Again, no apologies from Birchwood. The only reason that I have not given Birchwood zero stars, besides it not being possible, is that the staff on the most part seemed friendly. I would definitely not recommend, this has taken months to sort out and there is no way I would be returning. Terrible terrible customer service.

Right where to start. If I can give no stars I would do right away. Absolutely appalled by this dealership, deserves to be shut down and no right to sell dodgy vehicles. Picked up my vehicle and somehow passed MOT with worn tyres that could blow which actually happened when I was driving & the vehicle bonnet not opening as they have broken it with brute force with a tool!!!. Following my tyres I have paid 500 nearly to replace all 4 tyres as they are not road worthy, driving my vehicle having a blow out whilst my partner is in the vehicle with me who is heavily pregnant!? They have the audacity they are not going to pay the invoices?…. Further more I’m looking at another 300-600 for my bonnet to be fixed. I do not trust your people touching my vehicle ever again as they have tried to pull a crafty one and try to get away with it, so there’s no one to blame. I highly advised for anyone who visits not to purchase a vehicle from there ever!

Can’t speak for everyone at this dealership but Jamie is something else, Extremely Un-professional, aggressive and un trustworthy, bought a car, had it delivered, should’ve listened to the same bells when the car didn’t arrive, came the next day, suspension knocking, misfire engine light on, spoke to Jamie came to an agreement to get it fixed, get a courtesy car and go from there, after numerous times trying to chase, and already having insured the car I’m now told in anger from Jamie, the car will be getting picked up, they’re closing the finance I have to wait for my money owed, £1900 and being told they aren’t paying towards certain things, avoid this company, they are kind and helpful until they get your money, Jamie is the epitome of the car salesman you want to avoid!

Great first experience with Birchwood Motor Centre I have had an overall very positive experience with Birchwood Motor Centre from reaching out about a car I was interested in (2018 Grey Golf) to viewing the car, test driving and purchasing on 01/OCT/2022. It was my first time getting a car on finance and Jamie made the entire process seamless. I was able to check out the car with adequate time, test drive it and ask all the questions I needed. They were very helpful and patient with me, very friendly and accommodating to my needs. I highly recommend coming here for both experienced and first time buyers as you will be in great hands with very communicative staff. I have had the car now for just over 2 weeks and drives beautifully, no faults to report. Thanks so much!

Before I bough the car the service was excelente after I bought it was a different story, the car had a mark on the roof, the windscreen had 2 stones chip that wasn’t bought to my attention when asked, and then to get this sorted was so hard work had to go there in numerous times and every time I was told a different things the end was done but I had to keep pestering people which is not what I wanna do, plus booking appointment to go and see kelvin and when I get there kelvin is day off knowing that on the phone told me to come down, then with the loogbook lied that was sent called DVLA they said that nothing was there called again got trough to Dean that then sort this out is 4 day what a good person! But is a poor customer service from kelvin.

I couldn't recommend Birchwood Motor Centre highly enough based on my recent experience selling my car to them. Car dealers in general don't have the best reputation with the public but I am very happy to say that my experience with Birchwood has been exceptional. The gents there are a real credit to the motor trade and their business. They've been friendly, reliable, and genuine throughout and immediately sorted out the financial side of things upon collection of my car with no hassle or dramas. I can see why Birchwood has such good reviews on pretty much every platform I've seen them reviewed on. I would have no hesitation buying or selling cars with them based on my recent experience.

We cannot fault Mitchell and Birchwood Motor Centre and will definitely be returning customers at some point. We have already recommended and will continue to recommend to others. We feel the proof of a good establishment is in the after sales service which has been excellent. We noticed a chip on the windscreen which due to Covid-19 could not be repaired however when the chip became a crack as it grew, we were able to have the windscreen replaced and despite only noticing this after we took possession of the car that we're really pleased with, Mitchell made a payment to cover the excess. I purchased a car here in October 2022 and on the day of collection the spare key to the car could not be found and I was ‘promised’ they would not give up looking for it. A couple weeks passed and I finally got a response to which I asked if the key is not found, will you pay the invoice for a replacement? Which is £360 roughly from BMW and I was basically told ‘I’ve asked people to look, let’s see what happens’. 3 months down the line and I have heard absolutely nothing after I have sent more messages and emails, terrible after service. Hopefully we can get this resolved, I look forward to hearing from you.

Not impressed. Got a car in Fire Opel Red. It had respray, but due to their shoddy work within 3 days the paint work is flaking off my car. Spoke to numerous people, who passed me on to various salesman about the issue and have been fobbed off numerous times. I have now gone to multiple bodywork specialists who all agree that it was a quick, rushed job which they also used a polish that deteriorates the laquer. I have tried to resolve this with the company how ever they have not acknowledged the issue. There for I am Now looking to reject the car. I heave emailed the ombudsman regarding this issue.

Absolute joke. Sold me a car with a cracked windscreen which somebody conveniently covered with a blue sun visor. In the first 6 months of having the car the list of faults as follows - Glow plugs Clutch Dual Mass Flywheel Power Steering pump Generic oil leak Headlight was advisory on MOT which I was only shown after sale went through (had no reason to question this beforehand) Rear disks Diesel pipe leaking Various electrical faults Promised a service before sale - Car had not been serviced... Once they had money from finance company they completely refused any help.. Bunch of crooks!

A joke of an organisation! Like many other reviews on here. The service received while looking at their stock and choosing a car is very professional and courteous. However, once the deal is done - everything changes. I had a battery issue within days! And at the start they didn't want to know. They sold me a car with NO spare or repair kit. Which they were told I wanted sorted. They said they would, and now I have a coolant leak. They are not replying to me! Even though they provide a 3 month warranty. Please if you do anything. Keep driving. Go somewhere else.

After a very bad experience with a dealer in leigh on sea and having to return an unroadworthy car the next day , we decided to look at cars at Birchwood motors . From the minute we started looking until the purchase of our new " used " car , the experience was great .There was no pushy salesman , and both dean the owner and kelvin the salesman were so helpful .We were shown cars that was in our budget and finally settled on our new car , We collected it a few days later and have been totally happy with our purchase , thanks guys great company

Excellent customer service and after care I bought a Mini Countryman recently through Luke at Birchwood Garage and I have to say that he was very professional and friendly. I had a slight issue with a few wheels on the car a day after purchasing and the garage were very accommodating in paying towards the cost of the repairs. Once you have bought the car, they still do their best to keep you happy. Very impressed with the service. I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a good quality second hand car. I must say what a service from the team at Birchwood Motor Centre. Mitchell was my sales advisor and was very friendly and helpful. I contacted on the Monday about the car I was interested in and despite living at the opposite end of the country received it on the Saturday. Absolute love the car and feel the price was more than reasonable. Would definitely recommend them and when I need a new car I will definitely look at buying from them again. Had my car written off by a lady who jumped a red light. My wife found a replacement at Birchwood Cars. We live in Ashford Kent. Purchased the car and was back on the road on the Friday when it was delivered to us following the accident on the Monday. Can't speak highly enough of Birchwood. I dealt with Kelvin who has been most helpful all the way. When we next change our car we certainly will be making the trip to Hornchuch to view the cars they have. Great service all round. I found my perfect car at Birchwood but located nearly 100 miles away I didn’t fancy the journey so I decided to go with their delivery option. I was a little apprehensive as I’d had a bad experience elsewhere, but I needn’t have worried as the car was exactly as described & delivery was stress free & smooth. My communication was mainly through Jamie who was always polite & never pushy & he kept me posted on everything from start to finish. Can highly recommend Jamie & this trustworthy motor centre!

Bought a Discovery 4 from here and incredibly happy with the service we received. The guy i dealt with was Jamie and talking/corresponding with him over the last week or more he seems a very down to earth and genuine character. Happy with the price and the car itself is lovely. Had it delivered to our house around 170 miles away at no extra cost. Totally would recommend buying from them. Smooth, quick and easy especially compared to the larger dealers out there.

I bought an Audi A5 cabriolet after receiving the car via free delivery up in Sheffield I found the car had 2 small problems which I wasn't aware of i called birchwood up they asked me to take it to a garage close to me where the 2 jobs were completed to absolute no cost to me i honestly cannot knock the after care and now the car is perfect and at a great price . Got a twingo from here a few weeks ago. I was able to put a deposit down remotely, due to covid. The test driving facility at site is perfect and felt comfortable throughout the sale that I wasn’t being pushed into it. The car had a few issues which Paul understood and has gone above and beyond to fix. Every conversation has been great with these guys and will be recommending to anybody purchasing a new vehicle.

Terrible aftercare service - we purchased the car and they forgot to put front desk pads on the car!! The clutch went 1 month later. I live 3 hours away from the garage. They expect me to drive the car to them to fix the clutch knowing it’s on its way out. I have suggested getting it done local to me, send them the invoice and be done but this isn’t an option. Terrible service and I would avoid.

I have had 3 cars on finance and just signed for my fourth car and have never had an issue even if there is a small problem they are more than happy to sort it out straight away. Friendly people, good range of options, good pricing and they remember their customers. Would strongly recommend if you are thinking of looking at getting a car that you check them out!

Went to look at a Ford Mondeo advertised as having covered 25,000 miles with full service record. When I HPI'd it recorded 115,000 miles, they said they would sort it out and get back to me, they never did, I wonder why? The car is still available for sale on their website, and the full service record was a booklet that they issued from last year!!! December 2015

Brilliant service couldnt ask for a better salesman like dean very polite and sorted everything straight away but the after care is lacking work dont get me wrong the car is amazing but the clutch is deffo on its way out as the burning smell is always just awaiting a responce to see if this can be fixed etc

Went to see a car, agreed with the garage I'd be an hour, arrived and they'd sold the car (would have been happy to put a deposit down if asked) Apparently they have two sites and obviously don't have a system to deal with genuine customers. Probably better if your local otherwise don't bother.

Absolutely terrible. Brought a car with numerous problems. Then found out it was written off previously and brought at a salvage auction. I contacted the garage numerous times about repairs and they would say oh wel call you back never did. The car is now going back finally!
