Dreadful park. There was this critter running around that hissed at me and my wife said "No don't touch that thing - it's a porky-pine" or something. But I've never seen pinetrees made out of pork that walked around so I managed to wrangle it to get a closer look. Anyway, long story short, now my body is full of spines from a "Porcupine" and I have deep regrets about my choices that day. Five star experience, as stars have 5 point, and 5 times equals 25 which is roughly the amount of porcupine quills lodged in my torso.

This park is a great place to take a walk and soak In some scenery. Its a hidden gem in the city and unlike some of the Parks around here there were no signs of riff raff living there. I was comfortable with my dogs having a run but this time of year you always need to keep your eyes and ears open for the local wildlife.
Dog-friendliness
Lots of nice open places for the dogs to rub and plenty of things to keep their noses busy.

Great park with a cool playground. Lots of open space and a beautiful spot alongside Blackburn Creek. Very quiet neighbourhood to enjoy the park especially if you have young children. The playground is fairly new and in nice shape. There are no washroom facilities available. And parking is on the street. …

Beautiful spot to go for a walk. The walking trail isn't very long, but if you like going off the path, you can roam in the ravine for hours. Almost always see some wildlife here. On this particular evening, it was a family of beavers in the creek and a flying squirrel peeking out of a bird house.

A beautiful little park running along the Blackmud Creek Ravine. There is a playground and an established walking trail in the area.

There's a nice little trail that isn't too busy and picture perfect especially during the fall. The trail is not marked on the map but can be accessed from the park and various walkways from the surrounding neighborhood.

We love Blackburn Creek Park. The location is on the other side of the creek for the small park. With some easy walking trails. Great place to take small children and enjoy a a short adventure out. :)

Really pretty park with nice trails for walking. Feels very safe. Just watch out for coyotes, as they’re common on and among these trails and have been known to attack cats and small dogs.

The store is well organized. However, I would like to find the hand sanitizer to be used by customers inside the store, more handy. For example, between the store shelf

Really nice area for a walk with a playground close. However our time was cut short when we were here as the amount of mosquitoes along the trail was unbelievable.

  • Kush Sundar

One of the few actually decent walk ways in the south side. A bit short in my opinion, but the occasional wildlife like fox's, beaver and deer make up for it.

  • Munashe Gwinji

Great quiet place for a run, bike or to talk a walk. Open spaces, and a LOT of greenery. Occasionally can spot wildfire like Deer, Owls, beavers, and more.

I actually walk 45 mins a day through blackburn. You will see lots of wildlife. It is like being in another world compared to the rest of Edmonton!

Nature in the middle of Edmonton. If you need a break from your busy day, put your hikers on and explore the paths along this hidden gem.
