The 6th Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza in Dallas is an absolute gem for history enthusiasts, a place that effortlessly transports visitors back in time to one of the most significant events in American history. I recently had the opportunity to explore this museum, and I can confidently say that it deserves every single star of my five-star rating. From the moment I stepped foot inside the museum, I was immediately captivated by its well-curated exhibits and attention to detail. The museum effectively sets the stage by providing visitors with in-depth background on the life and presidency of John F. Kennedy, giving context to the fateful events that occurred on that fateful day in 1963. As I ascended to the sixth floor, where history was forever changed, I couldn't help but feel a sense of solemnity. The museum's layout beautifully captures the timeline of the assassination, guiding visitors through the events leading up to that tragic moment with a seamless flow of exhibits and multimedia presentations. One aspect that truly impressed me was the wealth of information and artifacts displayed throughout the museum. The exhibits are thoughtfully curated, featuring a comprehensive collection of photographs, films, documents, and personal belongings of Kennedy and those involved in the investigation. Each piece serves as a poignant reminder of this event's impact on the nation and the world.

Buy your tickets online and far in advance. They sell out fast. The museum is mostly photos and reading. The lighting was not great for me. I kind of liked up stairs best. It was brighter and laid out like an art gallery. There was also more room to move around so that we weren’t all packed in and waiting for groups to move along before you could read something. If I could make a suggestion, I would recommend that as you progress along the route it alternates between reading and then a prop or large photo with not much reading so that the line moves along at a better rate. It’s still really interesting to visit the grassy knoll and to see it from the windows of the 6th and 7th floors. The 7th floor windows are easier to see from but not quite as historically significant as the 6th floor window. The souvenir shop was fun. It has great tee shirts and souvenirs for everyone. I loved all the shirts. We bought four and a puzzle. Our friends bought a giant nickel and some other things for their kiddos.

The lack of a guide or intro film strange for this type of museum. Hard to recreate the scene, social mood at the time and the implications. That is something they tried to capture but not in a way to connect to a younger audience. The conspiracy theory may be the only thing to keep them interested at this point. Clean modern displays but need a refresh in attitude and direction. Surprised how busy it was considering the aging out of their audience at this point. Needs new vision to remain relevant in the future. Very light on interactive displays and no real must see like the rifle in the collection. The Zaputrer film is in stills.. This if you have extra time visit- not a must see. The most innovative thing was the Fragments exhibition on the 7th floor but even that was light on centent.

I wish they offered more actual items from the moment. There are some really cool items there, though. My favorite is the fedora worn by Jack Ruby when he shot Oswald. I dislike that more isn't offered about the obvious fact that there was more than one shooter. There is a gift shop in the first floor. The museum 'tour' is not guided. You'll show up and they'll scan your tickets and then put you in an elevator that goes to the sixth floor and turn you loose to wander amongst the various displays. It's pretty much everything you've seen online but in one place.

Great museum. Had plenty of things to read and to get down and dirty about the assassination of JFK. Leaves alot of questions about the assassination. Actually I left with more questions than before I got there. The shot seemed pretty easy from the window, but there was still the grassy knoll. We WANT ANSWERS.

The jfk book depository museum was awesome! This was our second trip and worth it, I took my parents my dad is a jfk enthusiast and loved the whole experience. They take such good care of the event and memory of jfk. This is a trip for the whole family and the whole downtown Dallas area is especially nice during the holidays.

Tastefully done!! I liked everything about it, I've read quite a lot about Kennedy's assassination and yet I still learned some new stuff!! I still love visiting this place and taking new people to see it!!

Excellent experience & great way to end 2hr tour of the assassination. Take your time if you go. I'm not a history buff & found it easy to spend 3hrs there. Not good for small kids as they won't have the appreciation for what their learning & will likely find it boring.

They could definitely expand it more, it is very small. But they don't shy away from the many theories of the assassination, which is good. You can't stand directly at the sixth floor window in question, but you can stand right above that position on the seventh floor.

Tons of information about a horrific day in our history. Not a lot of hands or interactive displays. Lots of reading and pictures of the event with some artifacts. Littles wouldn’t like it but older children would be able comprehend the information. Staff was helpful.

Yes, the X in the street is morbid. Yes, the large Grassy Knoll sign in tacky and unnecessary. YES, you still should absolutely go! Leave yourself plenty of time, and get the audio tour. You may not go in as a conspiracy theorist, but you just might come out as one!

Sixth Floor Museum is a great collection of JFK material all set in a historical space. A little eerie when by the window but great place to learn about a sad event in history. No photos allowed on the sixth floor but you can take them from the seventh.

The Sixth Floor Mueseums displays remind me of days when life seemed simple and uncomplicated, until this dark day occurred and plunged us into despair. How times have changed yet stayed the same in many respects. A must see exhibit for sure!

A must-see if you're into American History! Go and see it and you'll come to your own conclusion of what happen that day!

Good non bias presentation of history. Multiple artifacts to see. Also many videos that explain everything. Shows the life of JFK. The day in Dallas and the aftermath. Definitely worth seeing for anyone that enjoys history.

Very educational. Leaves you wanting more. Really has you trying to figure out what really happened. Tickets not expensive. There was a line line when we was there. I would recommend coming here. More

For the small space that it's located in, there is A LOT of information to take in. Some I haven't ever seen before. I loved learning about all of this & seeing things from a 1st hand point of view.
