I love this place so much. I enjoy bringing all my friends here that are new to town. However today a white lady with reddish hair came to the door and was so bothered we walked up to the door to see if they were open and had the nastiest attitude with us. Very unnecessary. It was blocked off with tape but as when we looked on Google it stated open so she proceeds to go back and forth with me on how I didn’t need to walk up to the door because it states closed on the website . I do not understand the negative energy behind her letting us know because it could’ve been handled more professionally. I don’t think you guys should treat guest as such! Keep the positive energy flowing please for people to want to come back!

The contemporary set up a great day for my wife and my friends today! They held a yoga and sound bath session in the gallery and later had a talk with the artist Natalie Waddlington. Her work is on display right now and it is absolutely fantastic. The works are about finding wonder in your own backyard. The color pallettes are wonderful. The Texas sky plays a big role in these works. Her stylized people and animals are amazing, and capture a lot of complex emotions and feelings. She answered many insightful questions from the curator. The spot is also by a bunch of great places to have lunch. Great day, great art.

Such a cool experience coming here! The online ticketing worked perfectly and the three galleries were gorgeously informative. Birds was incredible as I expected, but my favorite was the Borders gallery by Liu Xiaodong. Talk about a completely immersive art experience, the first gallery has the finished paintings, the second shows his creative genius at work and the third is a documentary explaining it all. I had such a fun time imagining the meaning behind his work and then being able to watch the film describing his thoughts about his own pieces. I highly recommend getting in to see this before it's gone!!

Our daughter invited us to Dallas Contemporary just before Halloween. What wonderfully eclectic exhibitions of perspectives. The installations ran the gamut of human emotions from Renata Morales' multimedia experience of love and horror to Peter Halley's brightly colored grid work. The most intriguing were the Kabakov duo's interactive painting retrospectives of the Soviet Union and Shilpa Gupta's multilingual homage to unsung poets. Both immersive installments were enriching and enlightening. Thank you, Dallas Contemporary, for an extraordinary experience.

Made a ticket reservation for 2pm today on their website/eventbrite. But upon getting here I was informed that there was a members only event today and we could not go inside. Unbelievable that they would not post this anywhere on their page or block tickets from being reserved. We drove 30 min out of the way for this. Edit: after receiving a reply from the museum on my review, I went ahead and submitted the information requested for the membership. It has been about 3-4 weeks now and I have not heard back from them!

Art is in the eye of the beholder and the exhibitions at this museum showcase that so well. Art should be accessible and this museum does a good job of make sure of it. The exhibitions were very intriguing and I made it a point to read every description. It’s free to enter but I highly recommended donating (museum recommends $5) using a card or cash. The greeter at the door was very knowledgeable and willing to answer any question. I will definitely be back to check out the next exhibits.

It looks like the exhibits switch relatively frequently but when I went In May 2018 it was just plain weird. Entry was free but we paid the suggested donation and it was not worth it. Lots of nudity in the art which is fine if you’re looking at like beautiful oil paintings or something but these were photographs and made me feel icky. I guess a lot of people are into this stuff but if you’re just a casual art enjoyer there are several great museums in Fort Worth.

It’s free, but upon entering you have to register online for a “ticket”. Name & email are required. For an art gallery, it’s just too strange for me. I really hate giving out my email. So I didn’t proceed further. Up to you whether it’s worth the hassle.

Beautiful space with art so thoughtfully displayed. This would be a great date spot! We went with a small group, and it was easy to spread out since the space isn’t too huge. Admission is free, but make sure to book your tickets in advance. There is a free parking lot connected to the museum and another free lot directly adjacent to the museum.

Went to see the MARY KATRANTZOU exhibit, it is definitely a must see for anyone but if you are into fashion you can't miss this opportunity! The facility is nice and the art educator was very informational and knew a lot about the exhibit! I would definitely recommend this museum and will be going back for more exhibits!

The Dallas Contemporary is always a blast to go to with a huge variety of different artists from around the world. They have no permanent collection, so the work is always changing, and best of all it's free! The Contemporary runs off just memberships and donations. If you're in the area be sure to pop in for a visit!

Probably the best museum in Dallas. I love the location, the building, the staff, etc. Opening nights are super fun if you’re a member. The exhibits never miss. I hope one day they can expand the museum, as it is smaller. But this may add to the charms I’ve mentioned. Check it out and donate when you do.

I love the Dallas contemporary so much! They always have great exhibits, and the people who work there are so friendly. The museum is free, but they appreciate donations- even if you don't carry cash they have a really handy credit card donation machine that will auto-donate $5 if you swipe your card.

Great experience at this museum. It was our first visit and the staff was super friendly and answered our questions. The exhibits were fantastic and I loved the variety of styles. I wish there had been a paper bio or description of the pieces but otherwise fantastic.

This free museum is small but usually has at least one exhibit that will make you feel things and/or ask questions. Because the art is so unique it's better to go with a friend or someone to talk through your thoughts with, in my opinion. True art fans may disagree.

I love this place and the fact that they change it their artist every so often and makes the space completely new to fit the artists needs. They also have a nice education program where they try and work closely with schools to show and give them a love for art.

I visited on a Saturday in the early afternoon. Absolutely lovely. Quiet, not too crowded, not in a very busy area, free admission. Overall, great space with great art and very helpful staff. I highly recommend it and will be back soon!

Good lighting and use of space to display work. I especially loved seeing the use of space for the Margarita Cabrera exhibition. My eyes were very satisfied and I felt so many emotions. Looking forward to visiting again soon for more.

Great space for rotating contemporary work in the heart of the design district. The curator does a wonderful job with the exhibits and I always enjoy coming back.

I was denied admittance unless I provided my name and email address. I chose not to. First time and last time .there. Too bad., as it looks like a nice venue.

This place has never been a let down. The art always amazes me and is so memorable. I always have an amazing experience here and I always come back for more.
