Want to wash your car and have all the needed utensils - even help - at your side, so that you can do a superb job? Then you need to try Buggy Bath Car Wash: I use their outlet in Linda Vista on Comstock St. and it can be found right across the street from the Linda Vista Post Office. Buggy Bath Car Wash has a number of outlets located throughout San Diego and as a self service car wash they have everything that you'll need and more, to give your car that much needed cleaning ( You should arrive with plenty of one dollar Bill's and quarters however, I believe that they take credit and debit cards.). They have enclosed individual stalls for each car and each one comes with all the equipment that you'll need to thoroughly wash, dry and clean (vacuum) out the interior of your car. They also have an area where you can have your car professionally waxed and detailed however, I prefer to do the latter myself: I'm also unsure if this is still there however, I've seen others waxing their cars/trucks in the area. Since it's inception several years ago, Buggy Bath Car Wash has become very popular and a great place for local "car buffs" to meet and clean their cars.

You get what you pay for. The place is meh. It is very old and not really well maintained. It is dirty, a lot of sand from the beach in the washing area (seems they don't even clean that), been coming to this place for more than a year and it's the same old place in Linda vista where they don't care about nice things. Most of the machines are old and not really well taken care of. The pressure for the pre wash and soap isn't enough if you really want to wash your car. The drying machine doesn't even have enough pressure to dry your car. By the time you dry a part of your car your time is over. I only do bucket method for my car so I only go for the water pressure. I wouldn't recommend washing your car here if your going to use the brushes and soap they provide. I been going to many self car wash places and so far this is the worst. Only positive thing about this place is the price. $3 for 5 min. Others are about $4. Water pressure is really good. Once again. You get what you pay for.

This place is called Linda Vista Buggy Wash. And the owner (I'm assuming it's the owner who I met) is SO NICE! I asked her for advice on how best to remove pollen from my car, and not only did she offer advice, but she came by later to see how well it was working, gave me extra wash time (since it wasn't working too well so far), and even spent a good amount of time helping me scrub my car with her own wash towel. She used some of her own solvent on some sap that was on my car, then got the detail guy to come over and show me the stuff he uses, giving me advice on where to get my own. The machines take credit cards, and the soap even comes out in fun rainbow colors. Best car wash experience I've ever had in San Diego.

Piersall's Linda Vista Buggy Bath is one of the most popular self serving car wash within the Linda Vista area. It is a full service coin operated wash where you can wash your vehicle thoroughly for just a couple of dollars; they provide all the necessary ingredients needed and you can bring your own things as well. They have an excellent vacuum cleaner as well; with enough suction power to really clean out the interior of whatever vehicle your bring into their station. They also have a machine that disperses soaps and other cleansers too. You can wash and polish your car, motorcycle or scooter too, so when you're done you have beautiful example of a professionally done detailed job that others will admire.

I’ve been using this car wash for nearly two years. At first, it was great - equipment worked well, and the price was fair. Now, however, it shows neglect from the managers/owners. Several bays have non-functioning options. One doesn’t even have spray soap, and hasn’t for several months, and there’s no indication that it doesn’t. It’s understandable that equipment needs maintenance and repair occasionally. Businesses deal with it. When there’s no maintenance, that indicates that the business isn’t dealing with its problems, yet continues to charge customers for using non-functioning facilities. That's bad business practice, and I won’t be returning.

Good place to wash your car/truck. Bay one has the stairs to get above your car or truck and really clean the roof or high areas. The other bays offer regular car/truck wash. Each bay has a vacuum and fragrance machine before entering the washing area and it's helpful when there is a line. When done, you pull forward and there is an area for 4 cars to park and dry your vehicle. There is another two vacuums in the back as well. Seemed well priced for the self-service. I ended up paying about $8-10 for a car wash and vacuum. Came here around 10am and it was pretty empty, but by 10:30 it was getting crowded. Overall good car wash, if your in the area.

This is the most pathetic thing in my neighborhood. Water, no matter which setting used, stinks, is dirty, and lacks pressure. When changing settings expect to waste close to 30-40seconds before continuing to wash because of how long it takes for the fluids to switch and finally make it out the sprayer. No shade to dry your car. Vacuums suck, wait, no they don't. Oh and of course the empty dirt lot with planter junk that it shares the lot with. Driveways are not lined up properly to carwash stalls.

  • Christina Marie

Been here a few times before and was pretty satisfied. Got out with a $10 wash. However, the past few times I've been here, the equipment does not work. Last time the vacuum took my money (vacuums are not strong at all) and didn't turn on, the blast dry doesn't work, and now this time my card won't even read in the card slot! So disappointing. Finding another place to spend my money! (Recommend: Piersall’s day and night wash- much newer equipment and nicer overall)

This car wash is dirty and has broken equipment that doesn't work right half the time. The vacuums don't take credit cards. There's always something broken in each sprayer stall. The brushes are worn and pre-soak basically just drips out, which increases the time spent with the meter running. There's a little known, albeit smaller, self car wash in nearby Sara Mesa that is cleaner and better maintained. Use that one instead.

  • Omar Vera

It’s a self car wash can’t get any better then that. Not expensive usually not packed and not to pricey $20 gets you a long way. There’s a vacuum with a fragrance freshener for your car of course. There’s a few options to choose from when washing the car but check this out there’s an option for carpet cleaning and drying if you want to. Overall cool functions affordable pricing !

  • Danielle Lingle

The Buggy Bath facility is in need of some routine maintenance. The drain in my car wash stall was clogged, causing a large puddle to form, and one of the foaming devices was a little sputtery. Still, my car is clean for less than 5 dollars, in under 15 minutes. I think it's far better than drive through washes that cost more and sometimes damage the windshield wipers.

  • Leonardo Centeno

  • Vince B (LIFE HACKS WITH VINCE)

One of my wprst mistakes of my life- needed a quick wash before a banquet- my car looks much worst than it did before... Used rinse plus extra spot free rinse and double dried and white streaks everywhere as if I went thru a white paint.... I wanted to save mo ey and time now im franticly looking for next carwash to fix what this one did...

  • Carlos Chee

I spotted this car wash on my way home earlier in the week, and decided to try it for the first time today. It's close to home, and I can use my own brushes. All the equipment I used worked well, and had good pressure. The overhead hose system is very cool. Will definitely use again.

  • Danielle King

DO NOT GO THERE. I used to go here since it was close to home and cheap, but it's unlikely that the bays will work, they smell like fish and not many (if any) take credit card. This was a disappointment, since it's a great location and very needed.

  • Evan Wade

I've been using this place for years and love the place and the idea of washing my own car and nothing touching my paint. This place is great most of the time. The card readers seem to work if you figure out how to maneuver them the right

  • Angel Zarzo

Machines are always out of service, front vaccines don’t vacuum nor have air fresheners. I was charged with my card $14+ for only 5 mins because their blow n dry was giving out, how is $3 for 4 mins service but I was charged almost $15

  • Zachariah

I like to do it myself, for cheap. This place can get busy, but it moves quick and doesnt usually disappoint :) When I left something once, they got back to me right away trying to help me locate it. Good people, good place.

  • S Petty

Check the vac hose before you begin. I didn't realize the one I was using was clogged with disgusting hair until I was already $3 into vacuuming. Even after I (begrudgingly) cleaned the vac nozzle, it only worked so-so.

  • Askalu T.

Space is available at arrival most of time. Vacuum might be weak some times and expensive. There is a space to park for manual dry. There is an option of self wash with less expensive or pay hand wash right on the spot.

  • Jesse J Cartwright

I like that they have a vaccum available before you go into wash stall so if there is a car in the stall already you can vacuum while you wait and not just have to sit idle while you wait.

  • JT Lyons

Pretty good, washing equipt stuff works well, not a long line. Money machines are a little funniky, but get the job done. Good for my high roof van. Not many places can fit a high roof.

  • Daniel Frey

I would rate 5 stars but sometimes the tokens you are required to use don't work. But you can call the main people and they will replace the token for you but it takes a while for that.

  • daniel- #7footApartHikes

Not cleanest, but has Detailers on same property ($25&up) 3 or 4 stalls, in & out, w/ wax, brush scrub, clear coat, and rinse LESS Than $5 on credit card!! Shop and service local!!

  • Dale Bravo

A lot of the vacuum doesn't work and never put signs on it when you put your money, not knowing it's not working. it took my $2.50, The timer for washing goes so fast for 3$.

  • Joe Bartlett

This place is sort of a dying breed of old school car washes. At least you can use your credit card there now. I stead of needing rolls of quarters. It does the trick though.

  • Pedro Ortiz

This place is hit or miss Sometimes their equipment doesn't work or the water won't drain Hopefully there is a car in front of you so you can see how everything is working

  • Jerome Gaynor

No coins! You have to us cash to get a wash card. The machine for the wash card use is hard to use. Due to it not reading the magnetic strip over multiple tries.

  • Rod Dillard

This car wash gets a lot of business....and it has a detail shop set up behind the car wash self serve, and the prices are moderate to average.

  • Ryan Eades

Gets the job done every time. Never a complaint coming here. Machines accept card just fine and don't overcharge, soap is always in stock.

  • Meisam Mehrjoei

It's my only place to wash my car ,I think the owner needs to improve it ,I saw a self service car wash in palm Ave it was very equiped.

  • Jesenia Garcia

Needs to be updated some cleaning stations dont clean cars well plus the drive way itself needs work i would maybr say new paint job.

  • Ray Simpson

Popular with locals. Getting kind of run down, but you can wash your own car here and get it detailed afterwards behind the facility

  • Anh Tuan Bui

Really nice washing and cheap, but you gotta hurry up, time is running out. Cost me 9$ to turn my mobile dust pile into a shiny car

  • Matthew Burrows

Be sure to press stop on the credit card reader or you will be charged 15 bucks no matter how long or short you used the car wash

  • Chris Haughey

Great for a quickie...In & Out in a few minutes...and no clean up...wanted to wash the car off before heading down to the hotel.

  • Ana Maria Luengas Arzola

Creo que personas tienen sus propios gustos, pero si de gustos se trata: pues....a tratar!!!...o noooo???... …

  • Joe Tucker

Good that it 24hr but be careful cause sometimes machine broken and dirty. Just check for that then proceed to wash car

  • Corey Lortz

Terrible!the machines just take the tokens and the fragrance runs out before it even starts spraying, save your money

  • Alex

Good place for quick wash, only downside I found was their vacuum machines don't take cards, cash or coins only.

  • Ryan E (backwardscircle)

Great car wash that has all you need to get the job done. Very clean and there is always soap in the machine!

  • Dallon Glick

Okay. Some card readers don't work and your car's front bumper might get scraped up leaving (happened to me).

  • Ray Conlon

Not a good job using the self service bay. Time was limited and water pressure below what I'm used to.

  • David Bombart

Everything went fine. Use the power washer rinse close to the car to get the little bits of crud off!

  • Kyle Davidson

Great place. Stairs in one Bay to be able to clean your roof. Very helpful. I'd recommend to anyone

  • Lee Townsend

For some reason some of their tokens don't work? Lucky I had a lot of them to keep pumping them in.

  • Martin Davis

Normally I will give it 5 stars but I try to use the vacuum today and they really don't do good

  • Aaron Jennejahn

Went here 3 times, each time they over charged from what it said I used. Go somewhere else

  • J C
