  • "Hello everyone this review is to help you out if this is your first time in a court house"

"If I could give them 0 stars that's what they deserve! There was 6 people waiting and they where sitting at the desk not serving a single person, and this one lady went to ask a question and staff member put her hand up and yelled at the woman I'm in the middle of something get a ticket in the rudest tone! I was appalled at the kind of attitude this woman had, she is in the field of customer service! A little kindness would not kill you!! All I needed to do was get an application signed and I was there for 1 hour and a half, with only 6 people in front of me! Slow, rude and incompetent!!!! No problem with the police officers at the front entry they were kind and helpful"

"Today 17/8/23 at 3pm, I came to Burwood Court House and was served with the receptionist at counter 3 and was doing well"

"The court staff are mostly professional and helpful but it is quite regrettable to see a few court officers who are appallingly rude, volatile, deliberately unhelpful and obnoxious, making the whole experience at court worse than that of a third world country"

"If you want clarification and help, DON'T look and rely on a lady called JACKIE"

Hello everyone this review is to help you out if this is your first time in a court house. We will skip the part where the police had stopped you for whatever reason they had at that time, they will give you a small A5 size yellow letter indicating the location of the court. (Normally their handwriting is not the best, so ensure to ger their name correctly) The court house opens by 09:00 am, and all of the trails starts by 09:30 am. You will go in and you will check by a police officer, and you will be X rayed. After that you will go to the second floor and then you will find your name on a list in alphabetical order. Starting with your last name first. The courts are simply rooms, normally there are six rooms. Before you enter, there will one employee will ask you if you want to pleed guilty or not guilty. You will that if you have a lawyer, they will allow them to go ahead of you. You will go inside then, you will wait. Everything will be recorded. You will have to stand up, once the judge has arrived. You will need to address the judge with "Your Honour" as a way of respect. There are more information to this comment, but this should give you a good head start. Ensure to wear smart or at least casual smart. If you find this review helpful, please give it a thumbs up

Today 17/8/23 at 3pm, I came to Burwood Court House and was served with the receptionist at counter 3 and was doing well. After I filled in all forms, I came back to her but she had other customers and she looked very busy, so she referred me to her colleague on counter 1, which was empty but the lady didn’t seem happy to serve and this ruined my mood and It took me 1,5 hours with her and nothing sorted. I won’t come back to that place anymore and the officer referred me to go to local court in city at John Maddison Tower. Very bad experience with the receptionist and not happy with the service. People like that should have not worked as receptionist!!! So sad…

The court staff are mostly professional and helpful but it is quite regrettable to see a few court officers who are appallingly rude, volatile, deliberately unhelpful and obnoxious, making the whole experience at court worse than that of a third world country. The court HR needs to address this issue not only for the benefit of the public but also to stop those few court officers from embarrassing this court where great magistrates, police officers, security guards and other court staff work tirelessly for the community. Surely there are more suitable jobs for those problematic court officers.

If you want clarification and help, DON'T look and rely on a lady called JACKIE. She was UNHELPFUL and THREW HER ARMS IN THE AIR and WALKED OFF when my partner needed clarification. She then claimed she went through a checklist with my partner on the day he was submitting even though he just got the list on the day at court Obviously she didn't want to take responsibility for not mentioning about bringing a specific document. I get you're probably busy but don't WALK OFF from people who need your assistance

Thanks to the amazing lady named Leslie behind the desk who helped me during a challenging time. What truly stood out to me was her unwavering dedication in assisting me with every aspect of my situation. She patiently went through the paperwork, explaining each step of the process and answering all my questions with clarity and precision. Keep her at all costs.

The reception, especially jacquie is very helpful given how difficult of a process it can be. The registrars are process workers though. Even a spelling mistake is dealt with brutally, not taking into account the hours it takes for an application that takes place. I hope they can improve the process a bit better to allow a degree of discretion over semantics.

Had to go there to lodge a report. Did not have to wait long and I like the security there. Shady looking people loitering out the front in a big group though. They need to have more people working at the front desk as one lady was left to answer customers and the other just called out people's names.

Have some court staff helpful there but prefer bring the lawyer here to help you to speak with the judge . Interpreter they did not call but if better your lawyer can speak same language with you . Long waiting time .

Most of the time I got fair justice but this one time a female magistrate made if very hard for me case and more or less contributed to why my life is so hard right now. Don't trust legal aid

It's alright for a court case alot of people whinge over shady people there what do you expect it's a court house . The lady that helped me put in a early plea was helpful …

Awful atmosphere inside this place. Stuffy, terrible air conditioning. Courtrooms are fairly modern and lacking in any character, unlike the great Courtrooms of yore.....

  • S1mpleLance

Waited for the whole morning. Then, everyone left and I was not even able to go in the court and asked what happened I was not allowed to.

A big thank you to Burwood Court House staff at the desk for the Clerk of the Court !

It's old, the toilets are a bit gross and it gets really stuffy inside.
