When I was a student at Cabra, I won a very prestigious award for the school. I was awarded state champion in debating for South Australia. Not only did I win, but I was the first student in the college's entire history to even be nominated for the award. I was also the only female student to advance to the state championship and the first female in my year group to win the award. And so when we had our assembly and your staff were announcing the various wins that Cabra's clubs had achieved recently, I sat and waited for my turn. I waited and waited as you read out sporting wins, music awards, fundraising results, academic achievements, etc etc. My name was never called in that assembly and my achievement was never acknowledged. And I don't mean just in the assembly, I mean the school never acknowledged my achievement EVER - nobody knew it had even happened until I told my teachers about it the following year (and they were flabbergasted that they were unaware). In hindsight, this is a colossal failure of communication from several parties in the college; the award was incredibly prestigious, as I said, I won a fantastic cash prize, and additional accolades for being the first female student to win. But, more than that, you made me feel so worthless and alone and I will never, ever forget how I felt sitting at that assembly, waiting for my turn. I hope you don't try to use my achievement to your gain to prop up the college as this pinnacle of debating prowess, because I can assure you that you had absolutely no hand in my achievements - I did this all by myself, from winning the award to celebrating it. I will never, ever forgive you; I was 13 years old. Do you remember me Ms Edwards, Mr O'Dea, Ms Lang, and Mr Neat? I remember you.

Niece goes here. The school fees are extremely high, and almost every student that attends has a parent needing financial support from the school to pay the fees. WHY SHOULD WE PAY SO MUCH? When I can pay almost NOTHING at a public school and get the exact same education since every school teaches the Australia Curriculum! As well, the uniform price is also extremely high! Calculated the price earlier, MORE THAN $1,000 dollars to get the full uniforms to last the year for both boys and girls. WHY!? The uniforms don't even make a difference despite the school saying that their students look "formal" and "smart." (BIG DEAL) As well as this, the amount of cyberbullying that happens here is unreal. Your child might get their friend's phone numbers! All of a sudden, they are joined to all these chat groups and get prank calls for more than a year! If you choose to send your child to Cabra, be prepared to have them take almost their whole morning just getting dressed in their school uniform, and paying unnecessary "extra" fees for every type of school event that you never said your child was taking part in! Anyway, CIAO.

If you value your child and their education, don't send them to Cabra. I would give 0 stars if I could. Myself and everyone I was friends with were bullied rather badly One of them left in year 9, another in year 11 I remember sitting in the graduation mass, listening to other kids give speeches, specifically laughing about how they would bully my group. Everyone laughed at it The teachers found it hysterical. Especially the part where a kid was left with both shoes tied to different poles for an entire afternoon. Anytime I would go to anyone for help I would have one of two reactions: the staff member would say something along the lines of "We'll look into it" and nothing would be done. The second response was that I would get laughed at, by a teacher who I trust to take me seriously.

Cabra has got to be the worst school I have ever gone to. The people were rude, the teachers didn't seem like they wanted to do their jobs, the curriculum makes no sense, the views on Christianity are worse than when I was in primary school and the canteen prices are so over priced sometimes I wonder if it's worth going out of school and getting food from Woolworth's. Cabra is a bad school. People are always saying slurs in class and the teacher does nothing even though they hear it. The only good thing about the school are the librarians.

Great place to send your kid if you have low aspirations for them but want them to look superior with their 300 dollar blazers, all your money will go towards unnecessary infrastructure projects and burned out teachers, nothing towards helping students get good results. Went from C's and D's to straight A's and a 97 atar after I moved to a public school. All image no learning.

My twelve year old child went here and was badly bullied. He had to see a therapist for 2 years for him to start being himself again. The teachers didn't help the situation at all and overall made it worse for my son. This school has ruined my poor boys childhood and all I hope is that this review will stop the cycle of extremely high uniform prices.

I was bullied. My friend was bullied. My other friend with severe aspergers syndrome was forced into an all-school photo where he freaked out as he doesn't deal with large crowds well (school knew this); so yes he was bullied as well. Bullied in the entire 4 years I attended. Nothing was done

It's a good school, The canteen may be overpriced but the school doesn't run the canteen prices, a different company does. I was bullied at this school by both teachers and students and the teachers helped a lot, even the principal helped during these times.

I was an international student when i was in year 8 and 9. Here is a school that teachers understand and willing to help you. Had a good 2 years high school experience here. Note: you will feel the difference if you go to a public school after.

  • Jorja

Absolutely disgusting school, I did not get bullied by students but by teachers. if they do not like you they will pick on you, this is the reason I had to move. this is such a Feral school, on sports day i brought my friends to watch, and

  • ella hill

I couldn't afford something from the canteen once so went to Woolworths to get food. That was against the rules but i was hungry... then I got a detention. I left in year 10 because why would i stay somewhere when I get into trouble for

Cabra Dominican College provides an impeccable quality of teaching within its broad range of friendly teachers and students, allowing for a beautiful place to develop, learn and grow as a young individual from Years 7 to 12.

  • Patrick Clarke

Cabra would have to be one of the worse Catholic Senior schools in SA. Think twice before sending your child there. Organised chaos and the bullying is swept under the carpet hoping it will go away. Just terrible.

  • josh bennett

Best school in whole of Adelaide my daughter has experienced. I recommend this school for everyone as the education is phenomenal and they include everyone in their activities.

Fantastic school which also accepts students with a learning disability. Also cabra helped us with our payments due to covid 19. Many thanks Cabra. …
