Seemed good to start with. Good looking menu for an above average price for the city. The boys with moustaches seemed pretty dismissive, but the female staff were nice. Asked to sub out something from breakfast and was interrupted with "We don't do substitutions," despite being happy to sub in more expensive items for less (happy to let me have scrambled eggs for a premium), but not reduce the price when I wanted something cheaper (swap out ciabatta for toast or tomatoes for more mushrooms). For $24 for a breakfast plate, you'd want to be able to sub out something you can't eat for something you can. I got a coffee and my mother got a Coke, and I was pointed to the fridge and told to get the can myself. I asked for a glass and he pointed to the glasses on the inside of the counter where staff get them and told to reach over and grab one myself. One of the male staff spilled milk all over the floor next to where my mother sat and instead of coming to clean it, he left it there. He acknowledged he spilled it, but didn't think wiping it up was necessary. My mother, who uses a walker, needed to get out of the awkward side of the table and squeeze through to get out so she wouldn't slip. Final problem occurred about an hour into breakfast and I started to feel unwell. I saw mum home and then went home myself, only to get a case of diarrhoea. I hadn't eaten anything else that morning, so the only possible source was the food.

I was disappointed. I was looking for a different place for my morning coffee and pastry or b&e roll. This place looked good and was open, so I tried it. The Breakfast Burger was $14 by itself, but I didn’t want to keep wandering around looking for a place, and thought it must be good for this price, so I gave it a go. It was just standard scrambled eggs, with bacon, some spinach and relish in a charcoal brioche bun, at least it was freshly prepared though. But it was bland, the bun was a bit stodgy and the scrambled eggs had no ‘special’ flavour you might expect from a $14 breakfast burger. They throw in two potato cakes, but these are just cheap frozen ones from the supermarket and I could do without. The mocha I got was okay, but a little too much chocolate powder, should have ordered the flat white. Service started off ok, but past the initial greeting was pretty average, not sure he liked that I ordered something with bacon. Considering I can get a bacon & egg roll and a large coffee at numerous places elsewhere for under $10, both of which are better than these offerings, I am unlikely to return here.

Josh - First time here in Adelaide and came in here with Bella for some breakfast before the day’s activities. It was awesome, the music was so good, staff were super polite and friendly. Service was quick and they were busy. Real busy. The homemade hollandaise was beautiful coffee delicious. Bella - Came here for breakfast the day after a festival and the food was very yum. I got eggs and avo on toast with hash browns which was amazing. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Will definitely come back again. Josh & Bella - We came in on Saturday 07/01/23 and Sunday 08/01/23 Saturday we walked through the door and the lovely girl at the coffee machine welcomed us explained how it all works and was super friendly. Both of us were quite tired and normally would mean we’re a touch grumpy and this cafe fixed it and left us feeling great for the rest of the day.

One rude and obnoxious American waiter left me walking away with a bad taste in my mouth and this is in addition to the food I sent back. When I requested the refund this particular waiter was rude and then on top of that did not refund me for the full amount and made one of the other waiters bring the receipt out to me. Overall, although the food was $$$$ the rest of the staff were lovely, the coffee was delicious and the other 3 meals at our table were well presented and delicious. I feel like I may have just drew the short straw in the incident. After my experience I wouldn't recommend. My order $7 Avocado (old) $7 Hash browns $2 Surcharge (for not ordering sides accompanied by a main dish) $10 Panini $12.50 2 coffees

My visit to Cafe Bang Bang was prompted by the enticing online pictures and reasonable prices. We ordered the chili egg served with toast and egg haloumi. Initially, we intended to dine indoors, but the indoor seating felt stuffy and uncomfortably warm, so we opted for outdoor seating instead. The presentation of the chili egg was impressive, but sadly, it lacked seasoning, leaving it somewhat bland. The bread, while tasty, was a bit dry, and there was a noticeable absence of any accompanying sauce for the eggs or butter for the bread. On the other hand, the egg haloumi, although it may have seemed unassuming, surprised us with its better flavor profile compared to the egg dish.

I'm so disappointed today, this has been my fave go to coffee place for years until today. I asked for LARGE latte and got not even a cup full of coffee - half cup is full of froth. My brownie was just chucked straight into a paper bag - no cutlery or no paper plate which I know they have served me before. On asking for it the staff is too busy to cater to your needs and you end up leaving disappointed. Coffee prices have gone up everywhere I get that but at least make it worth it! Also my coffee was cold :( going straight down the drain. I spent $10.80 in total

Great place for lunch. We had the halloumi veggie burger, fried chicken salad and a cappuccino. Ingredients were fresh and the serving size was perfect for lunch. Venue is nice and the waitstaff were attentive. Next time will try the breakfast menu.

I had the crispy bacon and 2 poached eggs my mum had the house granola and my son had the peanut butter toast. We had the coffee and an iced chocolate and absolutely everything was delicious. We even needed another peanut butter and they were super helpful and got us another one. The service was welcoming and the food was awesome. If I’m ever back in the city I’ll be going back to cafe bang bang :)

Walked in was one other customer there ordered two coffees service was slow. Coffee came out was about the same temp my hand I drank it down in one go. My partner said it's cold she took hers back. Still only one other customer in shop. I was just about to leave as was taking so long another cup arrived also cold. I asked the girl did they have a thermometer and what temp should coffee be served at. She had a thermometer but didn't know what temp coffee should be served at.

What a really nice place for breakfast/brunch. Very nice sized Cafe. Lovely staff and just an all round great experience. Lots of cakes, good menu size and a good selection of drinks. Makes very good coffee! Really appreciate the honesty, I asked for a piece of hummingbird cake, and instead of serving me the last, stale piece. They instead apologized and offered something else, for which i am very appreciative of. Stunning breakfast, full of flavour! Really do recommend here if you like eggs! Thank you for a great start to the day

The high ratings brought us here. The atmosphere & service was great. Unfortunately, the food wasn’t too special. I ordered the egg & swiss cheese sandwich. The bread was dry and stale and the cheese was still cold. I couldn’t even eat the crust & I don’t usually leave stuff on my plate. It only came with one hash brown which was a bit sad :( The iced latte was OK. Cost $24.50 in total which I would’ve rather spent somewhere else.

We were looking for a nice spot for breakfast before a long day at the convention center. This little cafe certainly delivered. The breaky roll and late was amazing. The black bun was a nice touch too. The eggs were perfectly scrambled and the bacon, though not a crispy as I like was super tasty and not chewy. My only criticism would be, that it is a touch pricey but only a couple of bucks to high, so no stars lost. The pic is my roll, pardon the fact I cut into it before taking the picture. I was so excited to eat, the thought of a picture came second.

  • Jase's Journey

Great looking coffee shop and atmosphere. The coffee was fantastic and meals were very tasty. Prices were on the higher side of things given amount of competition in the area. Only main gripe was my wife was not able to substitute another item to her meal due to being allergic to avocado. Given its an extra $6 to add Avo and $5 for Mushrooms, the fact that they didn't have to put the avocado on to start with it was a bit much to then charge the extra $5 mushrooms to the already $22 meal.

I recently tried the coffee and Chicken Caesar salad at this cafe. While I really enjoyed the coffee, I have to say that the salad didn't quite meet my expectations. The chicken was coated in breadcrumbs (I think it was), which made it a bit dry, although I did appreciate the fresh and crunchy lettuce. I also have to give credit to the excellent staff, who provided quick delivery. Sadly, I wasn't able to take a photo, but overall, it was a decent experience.

Dropped in for breakfast when walking by one morning. Inviting warm atmosphere with friendly staff. Had eggs and bacon and hash browns, eggs were perfect and delicious hash browns were spot on, loved them. Bacon was a bit light on and maybe another rasher would have been good. Coffee was delicious, really enjoyed that. Price was pretty good, it's not what I would call cheap, but I thought reasonably fair. They also have a walk up window for coffee. Overall nice place, I'd certainly come back.

  • GetRandom

While everywhere else is closed, bang bang is still serving coffee... And good coffee at that! I judge everyone based on their double shot espressos and the consistency because if you can't brew 2 decent espressos, god save you and find another job. I'm glad to say it's great espresso, and watching the lad with the glasses steam milk and pull shots you can tell he knows what he's doing. Good on him for helping out us late coffee drinkers Recommended

I went in yesterday trying to look for gluten free lunch. The staff were very understanding of my condition, and they even double checked whether something had gluten, didn't seem annoyed by it, and offered me a portion of mushrooms or avocado to make up for the loss of hash brown. The sandwich was HUGE, the eggs were perfect and not rubbery at all, and they had some gluten-free sweets that I definitely need to try sometime. I'll be back! Thank you staff for your kindness. :)

  • Nicholas Galea

Ok place, went here in the mornings whilst on holiday. The coffee was decent but every time the wait was too long. Asked if I could order through the window was told it would be easier if I ordered inside, about a minute later someone orders through the window and gets served before me. Bit annoying. The service needs to be quicker.

Good spot, but mucked up our order. Not apologetic and and then rather than owning the mistake and moving on , came to the table to make us pay the small difference caused by their error.. food and coffee came out randomly. It is shame as it is close to our hotel and lovely sitting outside.. we will discover a new place tomorrow. Coffee is only a 5/10 anyway.

With Adelaide CBD not having many options for breakfast on a Sunday morning, we were pleasantly surprised to find and have breakfast at Cafe Bang Bang. It was very popular with people sitting down for breakfast, or waiting for coffee at an open window to the street. Good variety and options for food and good coffee. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Unpleasant experience. On receiving my breakfast it was not what I ordered. Staff were rude, accused me of placing the order incorrectly. Then insisted I pay an additional $2. There tone was inflammatory and not necessary. Sorry, but we won't be back. Overpriced for very average breakfast.

Staff were welcoming and friendly when entering the cafe, and the service was quick. I was disappointed in the avocado, vege and haloumi sandwich. It was extremely dry, no butter and minimal relish. The ingredients inside were cold, and the portion size was very small. For $18.5 I do not think this meal is worthwhile. Will not return here, which is a shame due to the great location and friendly staff.

Cool, vibrant place right on the corner of quite a busy pedestrian street. The place has great atmosphere with awesome coffee and friendly staff serving it up. The place is licensed so you can purchase alcohol and there’s sandwiches and cakes available for snacks. There’s no WiFi or power points but there is the Adelaide city free WiFi available if you can connect to that. #BeatTheGrind

Please take the salt and pepper squid off your menu. $24 for 8 tiny pieces of frozen packet squid straight off the shelves of Woolworths, and a small pile of fries. The breakfast menu and burgers looked reasonable, stick with that because you served a entree sized, extremely low quality salt and pepper squid.

Located in a convenient location in the Adelaide CBD this is a fun little cafe. We dropped in twice for coffee and cake while in town. The coffees were excellent and artful, well made at the correct temperature. The cakes could have been better but they were nice enough. The staff were very friendly and polite, making sure their guests were well looked after.

The coffee is actually really nice. Perfect milk and the coffee extraction was on point with beautiful natural sweet flavours popping through. If your stopping through Adelaide I’d recommend a coffee at bang bang as the layout is open natural and fresh. The only let down was the staff, as I did think they could have been more welcoming and friendly.

Only in Australia, table service a rarity! 4 staff members in a quaint coffee shop and you still have to line up to order, creating congestion. I can understand if your taking away but not dining in. Watching the barista spend more time slowly pouring the milk in cause it's more about the fine art rather than making a decent coffee.

Came in Sunday near lunch time. Quite busy but our food took 45 minutes to come. I ordered the eggs benedict, which was merely 1 tiny English muffin cut in half with the toppings on top. For the price and wait time would've expected something much bigger. Nice food for what it was but too pretentious and small. Dissapointing.

Cosy little Cafe on busy Hendley St. Happened by this place on our first morning in Adelaide. Great coffee and the 2 guys running the show were very friendly and chatty. Did not try food on this occasion but it all looked tasty so will probably be back tomorrow to try. Chilled atmosphere with all ages present.
