Terrible customer service. I understand that you have policies to abide by but what customer service tells people to "take their money and leave"? This is absolutely ridiculous. If you can't allow more people, I get that but you dont have to be mean about it. The girl at the front with short blonde hair was beyond mean. Everyone does their job, you dont have to be so impolite and disrespectful just because you are on the other side of the desk. I have been coming to this place from 2019, never have I ever gotten talked to in that way. You made people feel they dont mean anything to you. Fine then, we'll take our business elsewhere if you dont care. Policies are put by higher ones, but they need to conveyed to people so the business can run. We agreed we wont go there without their given shoes but she kept on repeating herself saying she will get us kicked out if she sees more than 6 people. In what customer service world do you speak to your customers like that.??? I am never coming back here EVER again. Don't go to this place if you care about self-respect because they will treat you like are nothing and they are superiors just because they provide you a service that YOU pay for. My cousin has his birthday, but she spoiled the whole night. 0 star.!!!!

This is a mixed review. I feel the experience deserves ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️and it's worth checkin it out online for their specials. It's so fun and the music and lights make it a good atmosphere. Unfortunately on the second time we went we noticed some people by the shoes and one of my sons shoes was moved which made us a bit nervous but we though nothing of it. However, when we went to leave, my other sons expensive shoes were stolen . It really wrecked the night completely. No one had said we could just keep our shoes with us and really, they should move the shoes behind the counter like other bowling alleys we've been to. That would have stopped this from happening. In their defence they did give us some money towards new shoes. But only after complaining on the night, phoning back twice, then waiting for a phone call from the manager, then calling again and then going back in!! This was a real pain as we were on holiday from the UK and my son had no shoes! So we waisted a day of our 2 week holiday trying to get some compensation and then buying new shoes. Go and have a great time but keep your shoes with you ‍♀️

Broken Lanes & Horrible Staff - The Worst Combo. Our lane was not working right off the bat. We informed the front desk lady multiple times and it took them almost a frustrating half an hour to fix. We asked the front desk lady if we would get a half an hour extra, as the lane was not working during that time. Not only she refused, but said it was somehow our fault because we didn’t communicated it to her. Well EXCUSE ME. We told her multiple times about the issue. So saying that we didn’t “communicate” enough is not only an outright lie but also a little disrespectful. Don’t blame your patrons when they complain about your broken lanes. At that point we just had to ask for the refund for the remaining time, which was lesser than we expected, and of course nobody cared to explain how they calculated it. Felt cheated. If owners care to look into this, we were dealing with a woman with short hair and tattoos, on April 23 at 10 PM. Won’t be going back.

I’ve been going to Chateau for years. Always was a great place to kick back and relax. However my last couple of visits have been less than a decent experience. Twice in a row now… the bartending/serving STAFF have gotten completely intoxicated and shown very unprofessional behaviour. One of the bartenders (1/3) got drunk around 11pm and tried to steal our drinks off the counter thinking they were hers? Then when we confronted her - she slurred “don’t worry I work here” my group then watched her struggle to sit down in a chair and fall over before being escorted out by another server. The other (2/3) bartender on duty came and tried to bum cigarettes off of us only moments after the drunk bartender left… and then the cherry on-top was the only other server (3/3) completely messing up the drink orders all night long and being extremely rude when we would point out we were missing drinks. By far the worst bowling experience I’ve ever dealt with.

We inform the young lady that we would like to bowl, Without a smile, she says “umm well you’re lucky we’re not busy, I guess we can fit you in (lanes were more than half empty) but for future, you need to book a reservation” in a snarky, rude tone. We were all taken aback by the treatment we were receiving. I explained that it was our first time and we didn’t know, she just pursed her lips and asked “what size?” The bartender was super great, making jokes and laughing. She seemed to have a great attitude. But out of the 4 girls working, she was the only one to smile at our group. Pretty disappointed and probably won’t go back. Hopefully this issue is resolved so you don’t end up losing more patrons.

I've gone to Chateau for many years and have always had so much fun and a great time. But on the past couple times I have been in the past couple months, the experience has declined. We had called ahead and made a reservation. When we arrived and told the counter clerk, they had no idea what we were talking about but thankfully there was open lanes available. The entire facility smells like old frying oil; seems to have no exhaust/proper air circulation. It seems like staffing is always spread thin OR lack of training/knowledge for the staff that was there. Some patrons were being unruly and disrespectful to the lanes where they were throwing balls when their lane wasn't active; they could have possibly damaged equipment as well as caused an accident. Leaving this feedback here in order to be helpful to the business owners as we would love to see this place return to its original lustre. Thanks

I visit quite frequently and todays experience was simply horrible. We had come in a little before 10pm and gotten 30 minutes. We had asked for a different lane due to us feeling uncomfortable and that could not be accommodated. While in the past with other staff it has not been an issue. Another thing that really frustrated me was the time. After our time was over around 10:35pm, we were going to ask for another 25 even if that meant paying the full 30 minutes to finish our game and maybe have another round. We were told that we’re only allowed another 5 minutes… in the past I’ve had employees let us have extra time to finish games even while the establishment was closed and at this time, it was 25 minutes prior to closing. This led to us leaving the bowling alley very upset. They had also just let another group start bowling beside us like two minutes beforehand. Not a great experience tbh.

Not happy about our experience tonight AT all . We had the coupons for a free game from the cereal boxes. We were told we got 30 minutes to play, fine . Once we started playing our lane broke down, we went to go get an employee they tried to fix it, next 5 minutes it skips a player and doesn’t count our scores had to go get an employee again who was in the office on her phone . Then our lane broke down again ( 3rd time ) While each time this is wasting our “ 30 minutes “ we had 5 frames left and I went to the counter and asked if we could extend due to how many times we had to wait for our lane to be fixed so she gave us 10 minutes extra which was kind but we still did not get to finish our game . We ordered pizza and it took a very long time and tasted like frozen pizza, absolutely disgusting . Not happy at all - we are frequent customers but left very unhappy today.

Unfortunately my family had a very bad experience here March 28. I dont think I will ever go back. The woman working the front desk for bowling was rude, didn't pay any attention to us, didn't greet us. Once we paid and got our shoes the lane was not working (pins weren't coming down) and she didn't care to help (she wasted 15 minutes of our bowling time that we paid) she didn't put our names on the screens, the pins didn't come down after going too see her twice for it (her excuse: "I'm busy") I cannot believe the service here. I am so upset with our experience there. The bartender/cook was also rude, didn't great us, walked right by us several times before just rudely straight out saying "I'm only making fried food". This is just unacceptable service and I hope the owners recognize that they shouldn't have people like this working for them.

Hlo, my name is Kulwinder sidhu I usually came with my friends here for bowling 2 or 3 times a week. Everyday staff is really nice . I went their today as well with my 3 other friends and the 8:00 pm on may 3,2021. The receptionists was kinda being rude to us it looks like she don’t want us to do bowling. When we start bowling all the lanes were vacant. I asked a specific number of lane she said no I can’t. Then we start bowling their was not enough bowls so i took one from another lane she was really rude to me I asked her that there was only xtra large bowls so she said no there was i know. I’m really upset with this kind of service even my friends too. If we are paying for bowling we don’t deserve this kind of employees and poor service from them. I will never come back.

I booked 5 lanes for 30 sober friends. Great time. Then at the end of the night, a staff came and demanded to check everyone's bags. Saying we were either selling or stealing alcohol. Still unsure which one we were accused of. Again, everyone of us is sober. Just because they had a large portion of people not purchasing alcohol, they felt the need to check bags. The first person whose bag they checked, has autism and was his first time ever bowling.. Staff made excuses saying other lanes were telling them to check our bags. Then they said they checked every lanes bags. They didn't. I watched. We were singled out because we werent purchasing alcohol. We all still really enjoyed the time. But what happened at the end was very unfortunate. We will not be back.

Our lane kept stopping mid game and then it skipped two players turns so near the end I went to lady at the desk to tell her the lane may not be working, not even to ask for more time or a refund it was just a kind feedback. So when I was explaining I said “games” instead of two people turn and she was sooo RUDE! She was like I don’t think you understand how it works and went on and on and I was trying to explain that I meant turns and she wouldn’t even let me talk. I usually never complain but I have never had someone be so disrespectful to me before. She was horrible and wouldn’t even let me talk Never going there again and wouldn’t suggest anyone going there. This was on nov 2nd at 12:20ish if you wanna know your staff. Treat people like people.

Really awful place, I went there woth 2 toddlers and a pre-teen. They set us up, everything was fine and then they tried to force us to move because a school was coming. I told them this is where we were places and it's hard enough to up and move woth 3 kids. They sent the school to our section (while there was several open lanes in the front). They then came over and tried forcing us to switch once again. We ended up just leaving because it's extremely hard to maintain 3 kids as it is. Do better. If the school was coming why place us there? Why let us come bowling if this is goinf to be our experience? This was my children's first time bowling and my first time at chateu lanes. I am disgusted with the management.

Not 2 bad for the most part. Very friendly staff, especially Eric I believe his name was. Great condition of equipment except for the glitching of the score displays which happened a few times. The pizza was not very good at all. The cheese tasted sour so most of it went to the garbage. The hotdogs seemed to be the ideal choice as those were pretty dam good as far as hotdogs go. Our birthday pack was supposed to come with a party corodinater but only seen someone when I walked up to the counter so not sure what you guys consider what a corodinater is. All in all I gave it 3 stars based off a birthday party perspective. We definitely enjoyed ourselves but I wouldn't say $144 worth. Pretty cool place, I may return.

Been there from last 3 years Had fun going there on weekends, Good Vibes. But the lady at the front has no customer service. Doesn’t know how to talk with customers. Had a small confusion over number of people. But instead of giving us a solution or understanding the situation. She told us to take our money back and get lost. We had our family and friends over from Toronto for THANKSGIVING. But this kind of behaviour ruined our night-out. I will recommend people not to go there if you want to get insulted in front of people because of a very small confusion over number of people. VERY DISRESPECTFUL AND VERY UNPROFESSIONAL.

We had to throw together a last-minute birthday party for an 8 year old, and it was a little bit of a disaster. So we called Chateau to see if we would be allowed to bring a birthday cake, they allowed it without issue. Everyone was so kind and on the ball. The facility was clean and organized. They had half the room lit up for glow bowling and granted our request for the kids to go on one of the glowing lanes. the price is by lane per hour so it may not work for everyone but its a great place I will definitely visit again.

Booked lane for 6 people at 9:30 when reached there they said morning shift might have forgot to book u in. Asked for manger she was very rude and Said me to leave. they should have done something for us atleast showed some respect or apology because we made appointment from our side mistake was made from there side .Avoid this place there are better place then this If owner can see this situation and deal with it It was on Saturday night 9:30 pm 6 th Nov 22 and we called them at 5:30 pm to make appointment

Horrible, horrible, horrible customer service ever. The front desk lady talked to me like she was doing me a favour by being at the desk. I understand there was a miscommunication but in what world do you speak in such a disrespectful way. I am never coming back here, I would prefer to go somewhere else, pay more and get treated with respect…!!! She needs to be re-trained on how to do efficiently and respectfully convey the company’s policies and do this, before you lose more customers.

Would like to share some positive feedback and exceptional customer service provided by an employee working in the restaurant of Chateau Lanes - Navroop. Went for bowling to Chateau Lanes & due to some event, kitchen was closed for most of the evening, but she went over & beyond to prep an order for us. Though she was scheduled for a break but she prioritised our food order & was super friendly. Thanks for the great service :)

Classic alley for transcona kids. The place seemingly hasnt changed at all in 20 years but that doesnt seem to matter. Brought the kids to an old stomping ground to expect a dump but it was clean and just how I remembered it. To be honest our first lane did malfunction to the point that we needed to be moved but I suppose that could happen anywhere. Bar and game service was decent for such a small amount of staff.

Good place to go bowling with the family. Some of the front end staff seemed sort of clueless but were pleasant and easy to deal with. We ordered food and it was brought to the lane next to us. Obviously we got that sorted out with the surprised people next to us. The lane we were bowling had some technical difficulty a couple times but nothing I wouldn't expect bowling. All in all a good time just not amazing.

Loved bowling here. I've never bowled ten pin before, but it was loads of fun! And best of all, a reason I'll be recommending tons of people go here, the pins are NOT ON STRINGS. I was very pleased by this. That might not make sense to everyone, but if you know, you know. The prices are quite reasonable, the drink menu is pretty big for a bowling alley. I didn't try the food, but what I saw looked pretty good.

i walked in to ask if there was any available lanes for a bowling game, and the lady over the counter looks at me with a glare, saying “we’re fully booked, and we’re only taking reservations”, and then proceeds to pick up the phone beside her, leaving me standing there with no further information. she had the most disrespectful attitude. no greeting, or anything. fix the attitudes or lose the customers.

Honestly, my favorite bowling alley in the city! Even though I forget what bowling shoe size I wear they let me exchange my shoes like 4 times without rolling their eyes! I would totally give 5 stars EXCEPT for the pizza. I used to say even bad pizza is good pizza but I couldn't eat more than a bite. And for processed cheese on cardboard ,it ain't cheap. Stick to the fries.

Haven't been 10 pin bowling for a dog's age... Used to be able to do better at 10 pin than 5... Not anymore. Still had fun though. Learned that they have lighter balls for kids... Thought that was pretty cool. Friendly staff, good food, clean place... Overall a good night out at a good establishment. Everything good you would expect from a good bowling alley.

First time I had visited this place in 1999 and the second time on 23rd/2022. The inside of this place were very nice and clean but the customer service was very unprofessional and rude. One of the worst customer service ever I seen. Hope they can improve there customer service by training them or send them to school to learn about the communication.

Called a day ahead to make reservations, was told we didn't have to and could just walk in. Upon arrival was told we had to make reservations and that there was nothing available for the night. Ruined date night considering we tried to plan ahead and secure a spot. Bad customer service by providing incorrect information over the phone

Good prices and friendly staff. I was a little underwhelmed when my friends said we were going here, but we had fun. At 915 it turned to glow bowling. The popcorn was really good. However we paid for one hour, had 4 frames left and they turned it off. Could have let us have 10 more minutes. There were many empty lanes. Oh well.

Management is a joke, employees are treated poorly, This is coming from someone who has a family member working there! I personally would not give my money to the people who run the place, they take advantaged of there employees! The management of this place should be looked into by manitoba labour board!!

It was a great place to go with the family! It does look a bit run down and the front register smells like feet (obviously from the shoes), but overall it was a good experience. They even have lighter bowling balls for kids to use, but they're just stored by the bar. I would recommend Chateau Lanes!

Staff were great - one of our group’s 3 lanes kept malfunctioning, so they extended time for our whole group! Food prices were very decent and service fast. Ten pin bowling is not my forte, but they have lighter bowling balls (though don’t go too light or it’s actually harder it seems!).

Went for a kids birthday party. There were a lack of balls in the weights needed. Then the balls got stuck and the kids ran out of balls to use and we had to wait at least 10 minutes for the problem to be fixed. Needless to say I personally would not book a party for kids here.

Bowling lanes are one of the best in city but customer service is the worst. I am regular here, service desk clerks are always angry about something. They can’t even deal to a customer with a smile or anything. Just because of customer service I don’t wanna bowl here any more.

We were all having such a good time...until it was closing. As we were leaving to get our shoes on, and realized that one of my friends shoes went missing. (Expensive name brand shoes.) So all I gotta say is watch your shoes, their are thieves that lurk here. Lesson learned.

We had a team bowling event at Chateau. Great time and very good service. The lanes are in good condition, and the whole place is well maintained. They have better food than you'd expect from a bowling alley. The also have many deals and promotions posted on their website.

Recently held a group event at Chateau for our office. They were easy to work with and very accommodating when we arranged the event, and everything went smooth the day of the event as they were well prepared and professional. Everyone in our group had a great time.

Great bowling experience, but when we went to pay everyone in our group was overcharged. When we confronted the clerk, she reimbursed us for the overcharge, but wouldn't reimburse us for the 15% gratuity that was added on with out telling us. Seems really shady.

Don't know if ownership has changed from when I used to go as a teen, or just management, but when we pay til 11 we expect to bowl til 11, not 7 minutes to. Haven't gone much in the past decade, but this is encouragement to find somewhere else to spend money at.

Really nice place to chill and have fun with one or many friends! I went with a bunch of colleagues and had a good time, good food! Only drawbacks are that it's far away and that there's not foul line sensors or good animations on the screens for bowling

Very friendly staff especially the man in the shop. Great place to play. Some people need to read their signs though. They ask people to remove their shoes at a certain point but some people just walk in making the place dirty. Nooooo

Amazing 10 pin bowling alley! A great place for family and friends to get together and bowl! They have great food! And! their nachos are probably the best around! (a lot better than Dakota lanes ”nachos”) so happy I made the switch

Was there for a work Christmas party earlier tonight and it was great! We all had alot of fun, good food and drinks, alot more interactive then regular Christmas parties. My first time to chateau and I really enjoyed it.

Great experience, more crack down needs to happen with people who are goofing off and standing on the lanes, sometimes over flowing on to other people's lanes. We wound up leaving early because we were getting annoyed.

My personal favorite way to experience 10 pin bowling. However I wish they had more of the larger sized and more cleaner selection of bowling balls for you to use. As a lot of the balls are sweaty inside the fingers.

Great venue, great staff! The food and service is great, and the on-site pro shop is 2nd to none. Mike Boroskae is the best in the business!
