Getting married at Chelsea Old Town Hall was the best decision we made! We booked the Rossettie Room (up to 12 people) and 2 weeks before our wedding, while visiting to have a look during visiting hours, we met David. David was so nice, welcoming and made us feel comfortable from the first moment. He was happy to share the history of the place with a big smile and when we asked if it was possible to have 2 more guests join the room (because they were coming from abroad) he promised to look into it and by the end of the day we got our answer- YES! On the wedding day we arrived and surprisingly and so gladly we found out that David was one of the registrars of our ceremony which made us so happy, things quickly became so personal and we could have felt his excitement as well. We met Ann, our second registrar who so beautifully explained to us everything we needed to know before the ceremony, was so patient and agreed to every single request we had (yes, even at the last moment!). My grandfather (90 years old) took part in the ceremony (handed the rings) and Ann was so patient and lovely with him, really not taken for granted! The waiting room is just so beautiful, even the bathroom! There is water for the guests and a beautiful photographic staircase for family and friends photos. Both and Ann and David took care of everything, they just told us to sit tight, relax and get excited. Even at the very end just before walking down the stairs while confetti is thrown in the air, they were both with us, wishing us the best with a big smile. Oh, and during the ceremony they even brought a water bowl for our Baloo! Thank you for being a dog friendly hall The ceremony was so emotional, funny and just perfect! We really weren’t expecting it to be so professional and yet so personal. On our most important day we couldn’t have been happier and for that we are so so grateful. Such a beautiful and special experience, we wouldn’t have changed a thing! Thank you thank you thank you!

Ultimate waste of time on Wednesday 30th June, 2021. I had been formally invited by post to attend the London Art Biennale here . I sent my RSVP immediately as I got my invite. No response. No matter as I had an actual paper invite. Obviously not ! I arrived at the venue around 7pm , only to be astounded by a gigantic queue of people all around the corner of the town hall and onto the side of the street. Rather far down! It was an extremely slow process of getting people in /out. I hardly moved my place in 30 mins so I had to give up!! I wasn't going to spend 1 hour just standing. Excuse me ? I had already travelled 1 hour and had made some effort to get dressed up too. For nothing! This event was obviously far from being exclusive or a private view. I'm certainly not used to being left out on the street for unlimited amount of time . Really badly managed situation and very over invited guests. It was obvious lots of people would attend so it should have been more professionally organised. It was an utter sham ! It ruined my whole evening.

Could have dedicated parking for visitors. Was driving around for 30 min. Lucky allowed time for that. No public parking close by sat nav was shoving closest one 3-7 miles away with baby on hands yes thats great. One that really close some sort of basement and need advance booking god knows where and how to book. Had to take parking fine £65 if payed in 14 days as everywhere residential parking. Place like this that registering marriage, bays etc. Must have dedicated parking for visors. Vitnesesed myself when leaving bride and groom came to register marriage bride with awesome dress parked by entry to register and parking warded came with matter of seconds and issued fine. Yes sure why not when parking wardens based in same building i guess thats the way how to make money, car just parked saw over windows and of they go with ticket. So if you need to go there think of the plan where you will park unless willing to pay parking fine. Visit to then place cost £100 including fine and required certificates.

My experience in dealing with the art exhibition events person Robert Jickells has been very disappointing. Having paid a deposit of £437 a year ago for an art exhibition space, I needed to reschedule the date, the event was cancelled anyway due to Covid-19 , but I still did not received a refund of my deposit or being moved to a later date. I recently decided to exhibit again and thought maybe this time all will go well, even though I knew my deposit was not refundable and that was not my concern. But with the manner of email communications I received from Mr R Jickells, I decided not to exhibit my art and go elsewhere. However after my decision, the amount of harassing emails I received from Mr R. Jickells and their content has been absolutely shameful. The condescending emails and the quality of service I received has been very unprofessional. I will have no more business with Chelsea Town Hall Art Exhibition Events.

This is the venue where my beautiful wife and I got married! It was such a lovely occasion, the Ceremony was in the Cadogan Suite and the reception was in the main hall. The acoustics of both rooms were amazing! There is not one single bad thing to say about this venue! It did get very warm but there over 100 people on attendance. Up to 150 people could easily fit into the reception area (main hall) with tables 5ft/6ft, 200 people without. The Cadogan Suite was very intimate, a beautiful start and end to the whole day. I would easily do the whole day again at this venue, without a single change. Thank you RBKC and Chelsea Old Town Hall for giving us everything we asked for and so much more! Blessings! GLWS.

A wonderful wedding experience on 4th September 2021. Such a beautiful building inside and outside with all the flowers and famous steps for photographs. My daughter's wedding took place in The Brydon Suite which was perfect for a small wedding. A huge thank you to the lady who conducted the wedding, putting everyone at their ease with her professionalism and humour and gave us a beautiful and enjoyable ceremony! Also, a big thank you to the Registrar and the gentleman who assisted with seating arrangements who was very patient and super helpful with my disabled mother! Many thanks to you all, an amazing memorable day!

Chelsea Old Town Hall is a stunning listed building in royal borough of Kensington and Chelsea. We had the pleasure of visiting on the weekend for a wedding. Newly refurbished, this magnificent Grade II, late Victorian building, lovingly restored to its original glory, provides a beautiful, memorable and photogenic backdrop for weddings and receptions. Ample parking along the high street with lots to see and do if just visiting as a tourist. Would recommend visiting!

  • Angus Turner

We had the most wonderful wedding here! The whole process was nigh on faultless, with helpful emails and telephone service during the planning stages. On the day, the venue was fabulous and the registrars (Roz and Raz) were so kind, humorous and professional. They tolerated our rowdy guests and readings and guided us on how to get the best photographs on those wonderful steps. All in all a great experience, resulting in a magical event. Thank you!

My wife's name is not difficult to pronounce -- in fact it rhymes with mine -- but the female registrar who attended to us consistently failed to get it right, trying out an embarrassing variety of vowels and consonants but settling on none. Furthermore, she bungled the ceremony when she launched into the vows without having first asked us to exchange rings. She seemed unsure of herself throughout -- altogether wrong for the job. Not recommended.

We booked a small wedding at this venue for August 2021. After having several months out of work after the horrendous year that has been 2020 we decided to cancel our wedding, our mortgage is priority. They refused to refund the £100 we had paid, even though they have done absolutely nothing for that money. They are heartless for somewhere that is supposed to bring such joy, somewhere like this does not deserve your money.

I photographed at this venue a numerous occasions and never seems to fail impress the guests. While the ceremony rooms are beautiful and intimate, the grand reception room is absolutely stunning! The outside staircase is a great option for group shots and there are several nice spots around Kings Road for further wedding photography. Great venue, great location. The best town hall for an intimate wedding. I have photographed lots of weddings in all the rooms at Chelsea and more recently a restricted wedding under covid. The registrars were great and despite a shorter than "normal" ceremony it was really lovely. Chelsea is a great location too as lots of nearly locations for photographs. I have been to two Art Exhibitions and a number of other conventions at Chelsea Old Town Hall. It is light n bright, spacious and the interior decor consists of sculptural works of art. Suitable for all types of events n occasions. The exterior's fascia gives you a feeling of majestic presences, a finery of excellence and an ora of glamour; it's Palatial.

A nice place, quite historic, the garden is quite well kept but it would need more care and attention, especially adequate lighting would be absolutely necessary. I hope Chelsea Council realizes that the City of London is increasingly in term of crimes and takes necessary measures........

I photographed a wedding here at the start the end of 2021 and it's one of my favourite venues in London. The staff are lovely and it's like a well oiled machine. There are some really cool spots around Chelsea for portraits and also some cool pubs for drinks before and after ceremonies.

  • Neil Collins

Gorgeous historic venue and the staff are super amazing! As a videographer I shoot at many venues but I'm always excited when I get the call to shoot at The Old Town Hall in Chelsea! Historic venue with amazing opportunity for photos in the surrounding areas. Highly recommend x

I participated in the London Art Biennale 2023 which was held in this building. I am impressed by the interior of the halls! A very beautiful and elegant building that fits perfectly with the contemporary art from around the world that was presented at the biennial.

Went for a private ceremony for a good French friend as he was granted British nationality. Excellent ceremony- even for a Brit can be emotional, beautiful moment and professionally delivered. No long wait either, the time was exactly the one given- 9am Friday.

  • Andrew Charles Bunce

A bit baffled by the choice but closed my eyes and went for a mid percent chocolate and I didn't regret it.... I suppose to do a worthwhile report I would need to test all of them.... that may take some time! .... I would certainly be willing to try.

  • bibi

I am still upset about the treatment we received. I wish I could go back and do it again, as it was very stressful. One of the witnesses was hard of hearing and we were made to feel terrible. I regret ever going there :-(

In Un edificio antiguo bastante atractivo donde se presentan exhibiciones de arte ,mercado de antiguedades etc..y donde hay una librería pública con una gran selección de libros interesantísimos. En fin muy recomendable .

We got married at the Town Hall and everyone was brilliant start to finish. The registrars seem genuinely happy at being part of your day, and are professionals through and through. The front steps photo is also iconic!

Chelsea Old Town Hall is an oasis of calm and quietness along the King's Road. The library is a welcome setting for retreating too. There is a great section in the library for children too.
