Chota Imambara, nestled in the heart of Lucknow, stands as a testament to the rich cultural heritage and architectural brilliance of the region. For enthusiasts of calligraphy, this site is a must-visit, showcasing exquisite examples of this art form both inside and outside the monument. Visitors will find it convenient that a combo ticket, purchasable at the grand Bada Imambara, grants access to Chota Imambara as well as the picture gallery, offering a comprehensive experience of Lucknow's historical treasures. Upon entering the Chota Imambara, one is immediately struck by the sight of beautiful mosques flanking either side, setting the tone for the awe-inspiring experience ahead. The exterior of the Imambara is adorned with intricate calligraphy work, captivating visitors with its detailed craftsmanship and historical significance. This exterior artwork serves as a prelude to the wonders inside. The interior of the Imambara is equally, if not more, impressive. It houses some truly spectacular chandeliers, which not only illuminate the space but also add to its grandeur and elegance. These chandeliers, in combination with the other architectural and artistic elements, create an atmosphere that is both serene and majestic, offering a glimpse into the luxurious past of the Nawabs of Awadh. In summary, Chota Imambara in Lucknow is not just a historical site, but a journey through the artistic and cultural legacy of the region. Its calligraphy, both inside and outside, along with its magnificent chandeliers, make it a destination of choice for anyone interested in the rich heritage of Lucknow.

The Chhota Imambara, or the Imambara of Hussainabad, is one of the most beautiful and attractive buildings in the old city of Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh. This imposing monument lies to the west of Bara Imambara and is a true sight to behold. The Chhota Imambara was initially a congregation hall for Shia Muslims that was built by Muhammad Ali Shah, who was the third Nawab of Awadh, in 1838. The Imambara was to serve as his own mausoleum as well as that of his mother, who is buried beside him in this prestigious monumentThe Imambara is beautifully adorned with decorations and chandeliers at the time of special festivals, especially Muharram. In fact, this 19th-century building is also referred to as the 'Palace of Lights' by European visitors and writers because of the profuse decorations of the monument at specific events.

Chhota Imambara, Lucknow A mesmerizing masterpiece, the Chhota Imambara in Lucknow stands as a testament to architectural brilliance. Built in 1838 by Nawab Muhammad Ali Shah, it was intended to be a congregation hall and a mausoleum for the Nawab and his mother. This marvel is an enchanting blend of Charbagh, Indo-Islamic, and Persian designs, with Quranic verses adorning the walls. During festivals like Muharram, the Imambara comes alive, bedecked in dazzling decorations and chandeliers, earning it the moniker 'Palace of Lights'. The interior, adorned with meticulous details, leaves visitors awe-inspired. A visit here is a journey through history and artistry that shouldn't be missed. #LucknowHeritage #ArchitecturalMarvel #PalaceOfLights

Chota Imambara in Lucknow is a treasure showcasing Lucknow's rich history. Built in 1838, it's a beautiful place with fancy chandeliers, a shiny silver throne, and pretty mirrors. There's a cool pink staircase and a lovely mosque too. Don't miss the tricky Bhul-Bhulaiya and the big water tank. It's like stepping into the old Mughal times! The ticket is ₹50 for Indian adults, ₹25 for kids, and ₹500 for foreigners, including other cool places nearby. Camera fees are ₹10 for photos and ₹25 for videos. It's a great spot for a history and photo adventure!

Chota Imambara, also known as Imambara Hussainabad Mubarak, situated about a km away from the Bara Imambara . Very nice and clean place , well maintained. The large green and white bordered hall of Azakhana is richly decorated with chandeliers and a good number of crystal glass lamp-stands and each have a story to tell. The exterior is very beautifully decorated with Quranic verses in Islamic calligraphy. The building is also known as the Palace of Lights because of its decorations and chandeliers during special festivals, like Muharram.

The Imambara offered a captivating experience with its picturesque landscapes and cultural charm. However, the crowds were overwhelming, impacting the overall enjoyment. The historical sites were fascinating, but the lack of informative signage made it challenging to fully appreciate their significance. The local cuisine was a highlight, providing a delicious taste of the region. Overall, a visit is recommended, but be prepared for crowds and consider guided tours for a more enriching experience.

The architecture is very pretty. The tickets can be bought at the entrance or if you already bought the ticket at Bara Imambara, then this monument is also covered in the same ticket. Hire a guide at the entrance, which charged us 100rs only for the group of 2 people. The guide explained us well, we were left satisfied. Pay only 2rs. at the shoe deposit counter as that's the actual price.

Chota imambara is another famous tourist spot in Lucknow. Very less crowded compared to Bada Imambara. Parking space is also plenty outside the place. Tickets need not be bought separately if you have already bought them at bada imambara. Place is photogenic. Chappals have to be removed before entering and a nominal INR 5 per pair is collected.

It's near bada imambada and you can enter here with the same ticket of bada imambada. You need to cover your head with a dupatta/clothing as this is a holy place. Photography and videography is not allowed in the main mosque here. The architecture here is very beautiful. There's a story to each corner and you must visit this place to know more about it. For someone having interest in photography and food, do visit this after bada imambada.
