I wish I could give this more stars; however, the day I came in, I was greeted with derision by the sandwich maker. I had seen the salads and picked one up. But then I notice the Reuben sandwich on the menu board, put the salad back and bellied up to the cashier to order the sandwich. The sandwich lady was in the process of making an order for the previous person in line before me. She didn't seem to see me, so then I said "I'm ready to give my order." She said, "I'm already busy making a sandwich." I could see that, but she could have handled it very differently. I was ready to walk back out (it was my first time there) when another woman came out and asked if anyone had taken my order. When I said "No," she turned and spoke roughly to the other woman in Spanish. So, okay, I got my Reuben sandwich and it was fine, but I kept thinking of the scowl on her face when she made it. The cashier dude was extremely friendly, but I probably won't be back because when you have a cook who is miserable because of the kitchen heat on a hot day (just a conjecture) who knows what kind of angry vibes are going into your food. Maybe I caught her on a bad day, but seriously, attitude is everything, and hers just was not up to par.

transferred from yelp 9/19/16 Despite the unlikely location, this place exceeded expectations with monster and yet well balanced sandwiches. Not quite as much meat as we had at Carnivore but still big on portions and a stones throw from the convention center. I had a fantastic Ruben on sourdough and the club looked pretty good too. Good variety on the specialties or make your own. The salads were crazy too with quality lettuce (no wilting) and plenty of the good stuff to make those leaves go down easier. Dressing is proportioned in plastic ramekins, but the guy didn't stop me from grabbing a handful to make sure those who ordered them were satisfied. We will definitely sample this place again.

Do not buy alcohol here. Paid $15 for Bogle wine which should be $10 max, and it was completely stale and made my stomach hurt. Went there another time for $40 champagne that was completely flat when I opened it. Attempted exchange after complaining and they were completely rude and uncooperative about it. My neighbors have reported similar problems with various alcohol products they sell. Wouldn't be surprised if they're selling tainted, counterfeit products. Bogle shouldn't taste like toilet water. This liquor store is a total ripoff and gave me a sour stomach. Not even gonna try the food because it's probably spoiled as well. Save yourself the trouble and avoid this place!

Cine café is an amazing little convenience store/delicatessen on K street right in front of the San Diego convention center, my wife and I exhibit at San Diego comic con each year and the absolute highlight of our trip is this little deli. The sandwiches are made fresh and are so incredibly delicious. We go every single day, sometimes multiple times a day when we are attending the event. If you want one of the best deli sandwiches you’ve ever had I highly recommend you swing by this place whenever you are in the area.

It’s a tradition when I’m in San Diego to stop my this cafe and get a BLT. I’ve never had this much bacon stuffed in a sandwich at any other place. This time we also tried the potato salad, macaroni salad and got some watermelon. They are all good, but that macaroni salad was phenomenal. This place feels like a local secret. Stop by get a sandwich, drinks of every kind or an adult beverage.

Very nice and convenient stop. In all my years of frequenting Comic Con I had always seen the signs for it but I finally tried it this year. It's a nice looking convenience store with a large liquor selection and delicious sandwiches. I ordered the meatballs, it was covered in stretchy mozzarella cheese and the meatballs were wonderful. I will definitely be returning to try the corned beef.

I waited an hour and a half yesterday and told that I received my order already. I was patient due to comic con but when I was not the only person waiting and when I went up to ask if my order is being made .I was told they did not have my order and that I received it already. I was given sandwiches that were from a box and that was it. Food is great but customer service is bad.

A great small shop that acts a convenience store and deli! The veggie sandwich here is great and that’s coming from a non vegetarian. The lady who took my deli order was an absolute sweetheart. There was a mistake with an order before and I told her about it, she provided us with a free sandwich on the house!!! Excellent food, fair prices and great customer service!

Good place for a quick bite to eat, with a varied menu of breakfast and lunch, this convenient store has a little bit of everything for tourist to find what they need. Great place to stop for goods. Staff is very friendly and polite. Gotta love the smell of bacon in the morning! They have a wide selection of alcoholic beverages and tobacco for your addiction needs.

So glad I found one of the previous reviews for BLT. Ordered one and it was delicious! Got mine on white torta but they have a lot of bread and sandwich options Side note … full sandwich is as it says.. full. So if you’re not too hungry, a lighter eater or just don’t want to save any for later going with the half order is a good option. They do not disappoint!

Was in training at The SDCC and decided I wanted an affordable place to eat, so I took a walk and the address alone got me! As soon as I stepped in, I could smell it! The aroma of a deliciously prepared toasted sandwich! Guess I should have started with "If you're a sandwich lover!" I AM! So next time you've got the munchies, try hitting up 420 K Street!

  • Adam Silva

The kitchen lady is very nice, fun to talk too and makes a damn good sandwich! The guy working the register is friendly and chill. I love coming here, and the food is reasonably priced. Also, they have a great beer selection for after hours. If I lived downtown I'd spend way more money than I'd cafe to admit at this place! Take advantage while you can!

  • mtcondie

Lady at the checkout counter tried to SCAM me by preemptively putting in a TIP on the credit card machine. I saw what she did and canceled the transaction. I asked for a receipt and checked it in front of her before I left the checkout counter, just to be annoying. She was so shady! I'm sure she gets away with this tip scam very frequently.

I am here every year for the large Esri GIS MAPPING conference and eat here every day ! And the hazelnut coffee is superb. 2022 Update ! I returned in 2022 and after three years away I was so glad to see these folks still thriving. I ate here just about every day during the Esri User Conference and once again it is truly a gem.

Great pre-made sandwiches... or you can order one to be made fresh. Choose from Tuna-fish, Roast-beef, Turkey, etc. Plus great pre-made or fresh-made salads including Greek, Chef, etc. Also a small convenience store section with a pretty good selection of staples (deodorant, soap, toilet-paper, peanut-butter, etc.)

  • Melissa Lopez

Best Deli in Gaslamp! Loving all the liquor options and the variety of alcohol! Recently remodeled and they did a great job... Friendly and Funny Employees. Hard working Morning WeekDay Deli lady and Night EveryDay Mexican Lady doing stocking, cashier, deli .. I'm impressed! Always gotta stop by when I'm in town!

  • Shannon Feretich

This place is a diamond in the rough, just like Aladdin! The sandwiches here some of the best. If you like perfectly crisp bacon, give the Club or BLT sandwich a try. The secret is to order it on gotta vread, which is almost double the size of regular bread, which means two meals for the price of one!

  • Waldemar Selarom

on one occasion when i enter the store the cashier she confused me with another customer, saying that I was there before and I tried to steal and on another occasion I forgot my cell phone and when I went for it the Wi-Fi was turned off and they opened some apps including the gallery..

  • Nathan Hearns

Good locale market type spot to pick up things if you live down in this area. Prices are high though. Everything is marked up way more than it would cost at the grocery store. The deli does make some incredible sandwiches though...which in my opinion is the main reason to go here.

  • Silvia Parra

The best sandwiches in town. They are fresh and with a home style taste. Great and fast service. In a semi open kitchen. Love them! Its inside a liquor store that was recently remodeled with a few tables to eat in. Great location in the heart of gaslamp.

  • Gaby Hermes

Big sandwiches, well served. Call in your order for custom sandwiches or grab and go from their fridge. My fave is the cranberry/walnut/goat cheese salad with chicken and raspberry vinaigrette from the grab and go fridge for under $10

  • Sarah Lough

Best quick lunch in Gaslamp. The BLT has the best crispy bacon! The staff are always nice and remember you. I always order here when I work at the convention center. They have made to order sandwiches or grab and go made fresh daily.

  • Richard Silver

This is my favorite place to go each morning for coffee. It's delicious and the staff is always friendly and helpful. Like a regular Delicatessen it has a million different things to choose from. Tell them that Rick sent you! :-)

  • Trachurus Symmetricus

Love this place. Currently (12/2018), one of few places in the gaslight to purchase alcohol for your plane flight. Also, within walking distance from the convention center. Keep in mind, I'm not suggesting you commit a felony ;-)

  • Tim Burt

At a busy conference or just taking a leisurely day, start it with a visit to Cine Cafe for great breakfast sandwiches and then deli sandwiches for later. All around this store stretches a dollar in tasty and timely ways.

  • Jeremy (ZeroGameGamer)

We found this place on one of our last days at Comic-Con. If we had found it on the first day, we would have been back every day. Great value for a great sandwich. They also know how to move a line, quick service.

  • Bryan F

Convienent liquor store and deli across the street from convention center and a couple blocks from Petco. It's on the expensive side, but quality of food makes up for it. Family owned. Open late.

  • Jackie Acevedo

ive had a breakfast bagel which was DELICIOUS, ive bought wine at reasonable prices, and Ive had one of the employees go above and beyond to help me find a seasonal beer. (thanks lazarus!)

  • edward mcnair

  • Hotel Spy

One of the best delis I have ever been to! The sandwiches were great, especially the Ruben. Open late, have convenience items and full liquor store with tons of the mini bottles.

  • Kendall Long

It was very crowded due to the ComicCon convention, but they were so organized that we were in and out with a GREAT Caesar chicken wrap in less than 15 minutes.

  • OfTheAbyss

Great service and surprisingly good price given that San Diego is a pretty expensive area to live. They have many options for snacks food and liquor especially.

  • Jennifer Curtis

Great sandwhichs.. weird setup in a liquor store and kinda awkward eating at the tables while people are getting things from the coolers right next to you

  • Troy Nygren

Their bathroom is a little hard to find. Walk across the street, into the Hilton, past the front desk, and up the stairs. From there it is on your left.

  • Afrida Rahman

Got my order wrong and then fixed it with the right order but very very burnt. Said that that's how all their food is lol My husband's food was fine

  • Candice Ray

Good Sandwhiches for the price. Lots of meat and toasted perfect. Usually very busy on weekends, not so bad during the week. Very friendly staff.

  • Travis Stephan

Great deli, rest of the store is ungodly overpriced especially liquor and tobacco products. Certain staff are cool though mainly the younger guy.

  • Peter G.

Nice clean place, parking usually available in front but not guaranteed. Very nice customer service and decent selection with decent prices.

  • Kenneth Shankland

Close to the convention centre, good selection of sandwiches and drinks, and relatively inexpensive compared to some other sandwich outlets
