My niece is visiting from Austria and I wanted to show her the VIP experience at Cineplex Lansdowne . Mistake. I should have known when we walked in to buy the tickets; I saw on the console screen that they were going to be showing the Taylor Swift concert movie... Asked the staff member who was hovering around the self-serve tills if it would be on an IMAX screen. She said she didn't know. Asked if there actually was an IMAX cinema there and her reply? "I don't know. I don't really like movies."!!! WHAT?? Maybe I can understand if you're not a movie fan but how do you NOT KNOW if there is an IMAX screen in the theatre you are working at?? (I didn't know because I moved from Ottawa years ago, just here to see my family) So anyhow buy our tickets (The Nun 2!) and head up the stairs, all set for my niece to have an exceptional night. Hmmm. We get to the second floor and she is going to buy snacks and I tell her "no, we're in VIP, we get our stuff upstairs." (This is a 7:25 showing on a Friday night btw). So we head up to the third floor concession area. Wait a minute or two and then are told the concession is not open. By someone who's actually behind the counter. So we head towards the theatre to try and find a server... we find not one, not two, but THREE servers delivering food and are told by each of them to ask the next one about getting something. "Sorry, I can't help you (no explanation as to why)". At this point my niece is looking at me like "we paid over $50 for two tickets to a movie and THIS is how they treat us??" I fear Vienna will hear very uncomplimentary things about Lansdowne VIP () experience. We give up on anything to eat and head into the theatre. Find our seats and settle in. Oh wait no we didn't. The rows are so close together it's almost like being on an airplane. The seats are narrow, uncomfortable, and tbh pretty thrashed. The recliner goes back a little bit but the footrest doesn't move at all?? I spent most of the movie trying to get comfortable and as I'm writing this my back is more sore than it was after getting off a six hour flight last week. There isn't even room to comfortably stretch your feet out. Oh, AND there's a very large tear or stain about a third of the way in from the left; it was very distracting as it was so evident whenever there was a lighter scene on screen. I went to snap a photo of it afterwards and two other couples came over andsaid that it had been annoying for them as well; and that they hadn't been able to enjoy the film properly. I'd rate the movie 5 or 6 but the theatre experience only gets one star.. and that is not 1/5 it's 1/10. Do NOT waste your cash on VIP. Just don't. Since we both love movies, on Monday we are going to Landmark Orleans; Landmark, where you get the VIP experience without the inflated price tag. I go to the movies a LOT and have come to realize the staff at LM really "love movies as much as you love movies" (it's the tagline to their pre-movie show and it is true) (Full disclosure, I am so choked by this evening that I am going to go on every review platform and Yelp etc and CC&P this very long letter of disappointment, so if you're checking you'll see this again.) Also fully intend to tell everyone I know here that hasn't had the misfortune to attend a Cineplex VIP event to just DON'T do it. Sorry to go on so long but I wanted to be very clear and specific; I want people to keep seeing movies in theaters so I can keep seeing them in theatres too. Seeing a good movie in a nice theatre is one of the things I really enjoy. Don't let this place ruin it for you!

This theater was pristine when I visited shortly after it opened years ago, but now it's really starting to show its age. Starting off in the arcade area, many of the games were non-working, or worse just worked enough to take your credits and nothing else. Not a good start to our "VIP" tickets experience. The VIP lounge on the 3rd floor was nice enough and the staff very nice, but the food had issues (of my Fish & Chips: the fries were almost cold, the fish searingly hot, and the coleslaw inedible; the over-battered and too-crumbly filets were teeny tiny, barely bigger than boxed fish-sticks, and 90% of the plate was heaped with fries.) At least they had a good stock behind the bar and I was able to get a cocktail with my favourite gin. Finally it was time for the movie, and this was the worst part. VIP theater #3 certainly was rough. Of our five assigned seats, 3 had non-working recliners, and one was so ruined (totally wrecked leather, peeling veneers, etc) it was embarrassing. The rows are too close together so it's hard to avoid accidentally kicking the seat in front of you from time to time. The house lights that were on before the movie (and again from the instant the credits started) are so bright and omnidirectional that they almost completely wash out the screen making it an awful experience trying to actually watch the trailers and the movie's post-credit scene. This night was supposed to be a "V.I.P." experience, with the ticket prices to match, but it was so very far from a V.I.P. experience.

Worst theatre experience me and my significant other ever had. It was our first time to VIP so we had bought the ultraAVX, dbox, Atmos seats and it was not worth it at all. When we arrived an employee said that they were still cleaning the theatre but when we got to our section, it was still completely filthy and littered from the previous showtime. The seats were very disappointing as they were not comfy at all and very worn. Worst of all the theatre was extremely hot which you can feel from the moment you walk in. The heat made it impossible to enjoy the movie and it seems like we weren't the only ones feeling the heat as many in our section had to find whatever they could to use as a fan to cool down. In hindsight we should've just left and ask for a refund but we don't have much free time and we were super excited to see the movie that we tried to tolerate as best we can. The night just kept getting worse too as when the movie was over we went to go to validate our parking but there was not a single employee in sight on all 3 floors. We went to all 3 floors twice and even went back into the theatre we were in to find an employee but without any luck. We were tired, sweaty and frustrated that we just wrote the night off as a loss and had to go and pay full price for the parking. Don't waste your money here.

Watched the movie in regular. I was surprised to find that the regular seats were the same as the vip seats (except vip seats recline....badly in this place). Same width, everything. But the regular seats were better because they didn't sag inwards and weren't cracked (like the vip ones had been when I went vip here). I was also pleasantly surprised to have reserved seats in the regular showing. Admittedly, I haven't been to a regular viewing since covid lockdown, except once when they were testing opening it, and reserved distanced seating was in effect (it wasn't this theatre). The seats left my pants sweat soaked by the end of the few hours the movie was, but they are pleather, so that's a given. Just be aware. (I Do wish they had cloth/wtv seats instead.) The popcorn and drink were decent (read: average and not disgusting). I Was pleasantly surprised to discover that I had gotten a free cineplex movie rental with the purchase of my popcorn/drink combo, which I only discovered/realized later. My one pet peve about this theatre is how narrow the walk in front of the theatre openings are and the same for the bathroom size, etc. But overall, it was a generally enjoyable experience.

I used to love going to the VIP theatre, and I had not been since pre pandemic. Sadly, I agree with the other reviews. The VIP has really gone down in quality and way up in price, it is NOT worth the extra money anymore. In fact, it is a less enjoyable experience now than going to a regular theatre. The seats do not fully recline anymore and there is no foot rest either. The side tables were dirty and would be very difficult to slide them, as if they were stuck. The service was the worst part, there was side missing in one of our dishes and we had to ask for condiments twice to 2 different staff and never brought it to us. My husband had to go out to get the missing side and condiments. All these little issues were so distracting that I could not pay full attention to the first part of the movie. Food for 2 people, a glass of wine, a beer and 2 VIP tickets cost us over $120. For that price might as well enjoy dinner at a nicer place in an actual restaurant where they will provide service and watch a movie at home, which will be way more enjoyable compared to this experience.

Today I went to see Expend4bles I paid for ultra avx D Box we had to go to the second floor to grab our food then go to the third-floor for the movie and we had To sit in the nosebleeds sections, because only 1 row of moving seats The other seats are just standard. And we paid for the high class seats for better experience. Well it was a waste of money the seats hardly moved even on high no light effects no smoke no water miss no fake snow. No light effects nothing and the sound supposed to be a lot better. Well it wasn’t. I usually go to the movie theater at Blair to watch D box movies. And the whole row of seats moves with the movie and more vibrations And more thumping when gunshots a better experience and they have big high fans, water, miss smoke fog, scented lights, flashing Highwinds, fake snow and everything what you expect and better sound. And it’s cheaper by $11.. Don’t waste your money and go to Lansdowne you’re just paying for location. If I could, I would give it 0 stars and that’s still too high of a rating

Went to watch a movie this past weekend in their vip theatres and it seemed as though the screening rooms had seen better days. The vinyl/leather seats were very warn and in some cases the material was missing over the arm wrest and the screen had damage/stain. The service was disorganized as staff were not serving guest in any particular order. Usually you would think servers would either have a section of guest they are responsible for or serve those seated first. Was incredibly frustrating experience to order as several guest would get served before us even though we were seated long before them and didn’t seem to have servers dedicated to any particular section. Once our order arrived it was missing an item and I had to ask 3 separate servers about the missing item before it was brought to me 20 minutes into the movie. I’m not asking for a lot but for the price they charge for a “vip” experience and the money I am willing to spend on a food order you would think the service would be a bit better.

My first time at cineplex TD center. Every other cineplex or Landmark cinema that I have visited in the past 2 years have fully reclinable seating. To my surprise TDcenter doesn't. It felt more like a stadium seating area rather than a comfortable launching experience. I had to listen to my wife complaining and borderline leaving the premises. But I convinced her that it is what it is.! But when it comes to the bar well that was a disaster for me. First of all the service was slow and I wanted to be reasonable since I understand the lack of work force personnel that we are experiencing at thus times but after seeing 4 employees behind the bar that excuse doesn't work here. Second of all the drinks were horrible! I order a mojito and what I got was nowhere near that. No mint no flavor I might as well have ordered club soda! My son ordered a margarita and there was no salt rim and literally lemonade. A complete disappointment.

VIP is a rip-off when you consider that you pay for the privilege of having food and drinks delivered to your seat and the marked up movie theater price; then still get bad service. We went to see Barbie and Oppenheimer on the same day. Each time we ordered food and drinks from the bar. The food was delivered accurately and on time, but the drinks didn't come at all for the first movie and I had to go to the bar after the show to pick them up (by then they ran out of the drink I had ordered). For the second movie the drinks still hadn't shown up by act II of the movie so I had to leave the theatre to pick up the drinks myself. This was after I had asked the waiter to make sure the drinks actually came to the seats this time. They also ran out of simple syrup so my old fashioned was very sad. I will not be using VIP again because it's frankly a scam and you're better off just getting classic concessions

One of the best theatre experiences I’ve had. I went to see the new Avatar movie in the VIP theatre. I was entirely unprepared for what was to be offered. First of all, the VIP theatre is 19+ so no kids which was awesome. So many times I’ve had movies ruined by kids that won’t be quiet (or aren’t told to be quiet by adults who should know better). This was the first theatre movie in a long time that was enjoyed without distraction for that reason. 5 stars just for that. Secondly, they have a full restaurant menu that you can order off of with food and drinks brought directly to your seat. You can also order through an app and they’ll bring it to you. I saw fishbowl cocktails, tacos, you name it. I don’t know why I’ve never realized that this was a thing, especially since I live within 10 minutes walking distance to Lansdowne. I will never watch movies at another theatre location again.

I have been a loyal patron of Lansdowne Cineplex for several years, enjoying countless movie experiences with my children. However, the past two visits have left us utterly disappointed and appalled. Upon entering the theater, we were greeted with a disheartening sight—an exceptionally dirty environment. Nevertheless, the most distressing aspect was the unbearable humidity and poor air quality inside the theater. It resembled the aftermath of a boy's change room after grueling sports event, emanating a repulsive stench. The oppressive heat made us perspire profusely, transforming the movie-watching experience into an unintended sauna session. Regrettably, this deplorable encounter has shattered our confidence in Lansdowne Cineplex. We have reached the unfortunate conclusion that we can no longer support this establishment, as the recent experiences have been nothing short of abysmal.

These folks understand their gig. Feed the customers good food quickly and be aware that they need to get to their movie. Update Aug 21/2023 The service in the restaurant has taken a major nosedive. We went yesterday to see Oppenheimer.. It feels like the restaurant is run by a bunch of folks that have had no training, or ever been to a restaurant. It took an hour and 15 minutes for one person in our party to get their food. I asked to speak to whoever was in charge and was told that there was no manager on duty. The senior staff member that they eventually found tried to tell me that the restaurant was really only a courtesy for film-goers and that good service could not necessarily be guaranteed. It's a shame that what was a cool destination, a dinner and a movie, is now frustration and a movie. Incidentally, the senior person did comp our dinner and drinks and we appreciated that.

I have gone to this theater a few times and have very much enjoyed my experience while in the VIP 19+ theaters where you can order a meal, drinks, popcorn, candy and alcoholic beverages to be delivered to you during the movie. The seats are big and comfy with trays for your meal and the employees are very kind and helpful. However when I accidentally bought tickets to a regular movie theater showing rather than VIP and we were very disappointed. The seats are incredibly outdated. Small, don’t recline and not comfortable which made for a less than enjoyable experience. Overall if you are willing to splurge on the cost of the VIP tickets, food and drink prices then I think it’s worth it to enjoy an evening at the theater, just make sure you get there to order food prior to the previews! Bonus is that underground parking was validated for us!

  • Zena

This was the worst VIP experience ever. I always like to take advantage of VIP and have tried the VIP experience in many countries. The VIP at Lansdowne does not qualify nor should it qualify as a VIP experience. Seats do not recline and are filthy and worn. The service is unwelcoming. Paying for VIP will not get you the over-sized Premium Seats nor will you get to take advantage of the “Large lounge area with bar” as there’s no one servicing that area. It also will not guarantee In-Seat Food. We had to go get our own food as there was no one to take our order. Totally not worth it and not up to VIP standards. Your better off going elsewhere. Also, the seat map did not reveal that the seat I selected was behind a large handrail/menu stand that obstructed my view. I’ve included a picture taken at shoulder height.

First time watching a film in the VIP theater. I would suggest showing up 30min before the film if food and drinks in the theater is what you are looking for. Even earlier if you want to make use of the lounge area. Important: Don't forget to show your scene member card to receive 10% off! Extensive menu for food and drinks is a plus. Private bathrooms is also very nice. If booking reserved seats, the back 2 rows in the theater I was in (theater 3) were perfect viewing distance. Center viewing seats were #9-10 , you also get a bar foot rest ( Row i) as you don't have any seats directly in front of you. Overall a decent experience, but I would personally stick with the AVX 3D experience as the love seats and leather chairs didn't quite warrant the price difference. Perhaps Tuesday when it's cheaper is best.

  • Trang Dang

Really pricey, but reasonable with how comfortable the seats, service, and food were. Seats recline back and you can let your legs stretch out. Before the movie started, you can order food and drinks without getting out of your seat, since there are employees standing on the side of the auditorium waiting your every need (except w/ the bathroom). Food was exceptional. There is a lot of variety you can choose from, and they come as huge servings. I ate the shrimp tacos and my friend ate the pulled pork poutine, and those were sooo delish (and let's not forget that strawberry cheesecake too ;) )! Popcorn's popcorn, so we enjoyed that throughout the film. Definitely try out the VIP experience, but only on special occassions, as it is very expensive compared to the general admission services.

  • AJ

The parking situation was incredibly confusing for newcomers, there’s a underground lot which was hard to find and eventually we figured out how to enter the cinema through the parking lot.. the cinema itself was a bit of a let down with no reclining seats which is odd since we paid for “VIP”. The staff were not overly helpful either. The pizza and vipeach drink were good and by the end of our movie we were compensated with free parking which was a bit of a bonus. The problem though is that they only compensate you for a certain amount of time, and because our movie was long we still had to pay a little which is very unusual for a movie theatre in our opinion. Mixed feelings about this cinema not overly thrilled but it was objectively okay. Would not recommend.

  • SungOdin YT

If I could give 0 stars I would. On the website we booked for two VIP tickets and showed up to the theatre. When they scanned our tickets they attendant asked for ID. Although we are aware that the tickets say 19+ we didn't intend on buying alcohol. And at no point were we told that we need proof of age. For accessibility reasons this is stupid and they should just card you when you order booze. Also we were out $2 because of the online order "which we can't refund on our end". The manager told us that they are a bar and that's why we need ID, lo-and-behold he works at a theatre and not a bar. And they should really prioritize the viewers who are there for an authentic movie experience and not the idiots getting drunk at the theatre.

  • Kabir Atta

First time viewing VIP at this specific theatre and the service was good. Staff were all warm and pleasant. The seats were good and there was ample legroom for a 6ft 4 individual like myself and for my companion who is also pretty tall. Mid-movie, we found ourselves looking for a way to extend our seats backwards and/or extend the lower part of the seat to support our limbs but this option either did not exist or we couldn’t figure it out. It would’ve been helpful to know that they offer free parking before I had, you know, paid for parking - but it wasn’t a huge deal. That they offer this is a plus and I think they could’ve made that information available in the mobile app where I made my ticket purchases.

  • Tamara Jones

Went to vip not worth the price as some of the seats don't recline. As a wheelchair user I was unable to take the elevator up to the third floor as it needed a key, we had to wait for someone to call the elevator on the third floor to get up there. Staff was friendly, they validated parking but we still had to pay which we found odd. Food was okay The calamari was so deep fried you couldn't taste the calamari, the rest of the food was as expected. The total for food and tip came out to over 70$ and we only got calamari, chicken Caesar wrap, medium popcorn and two large drinks. The total cost to go to the movies was over 100$ not a cheap night out. Will rethink if I want to go see a movie again.

  • Taric Abadla

I would’ve expected it to be cleaner and more organized but surprisingly the VIP hall is honestly a mess. Chairs are broken, leather stripped out of the chair, 30 minu into the movie and the staff were still bringing in orders for people, flash lights on to see the path, and walking through people seated and blocking screen. I don’t blame the staff they’re just doing their job, but there should be a rule that orders and delivery services shouldn’t occur when the movie starts and the lights are out. If a customer shows up late, it’s on him/her to bring their own snacks and not bother staff to take orders/bringing them. In short, don’t waste your money on VIP tickets here, nothing VIP about it.

VIP theatre@landsdowne: Start off with things that were good: The bartender was really friendly, made great drinks. We had almost the whole theatre to ourselves. Great movie and great company I was with so I had fun :) The bad: absolutely no cruelty-free (vegan) options on the menu. No staff shortly after the movie started to order anything from, or anywhere in sight outside (except bartender). I carried our drinks on a serving tray from the bar to our seats. You figure if you have the whole theatre to yourself the service would be better. Also the VIP elevator from garage was out of order (minor issue). In general +$20 per ticket for the experience was not great.

  • K BUI

Food portions were decent for the price. Customer service was alright, but for the “VIP” experience - the 2 servers that we had weren’t the most knowledgeable. When asked which drink was which, we were told, “I’m not too sure which one these are, I was just told to bring it here” not really helpful when we have a pregnant woman with us and all the other drinks had alcohol in it. The chairs are so old and crusty, you might as well just pay regular for the regular experience. The electric part didn’t work on it and the material was all scratched up as if someone took a razor and scraped the entire front surface off.

  • Rawad Elias

**VIP review ** VIP lounge is a nice touch to hang out in before the movie starts. The alcohol in the cocktails are a bit on the light side, but the bartender can adjust if you ask. Food is ok. Tried the poutine and quesadilla (with chicken). Poutine was good, with plenty of cheese. Quesadilla was a very generous portion. Flavour was ok, and the salsa/sour cream containers are tiny compared to the size of the quesadilla. Chairs are big and comfortable, but the reclining feature wasn’t working. You have to try the VIP experience at least once, but not sure I’d be doing it every time I’d go to the movies.

  • Donna St-Jean

Decided on a date night at VIP cinemas… ya… it ain’t what it used to be. 90% of the seats no longer had leather/pleather on them and were ripped. We moved three times to different chairs because they were all broken…never did find one that worked. The food that we ordered was cold and bland. ..the best thing about it was the popcorn. Definitely not worth 23 bucks each plus food and drinks totally $70. total for the evening cost us over $120. Definitely not worth it for the low quality of the theatre. It has gone down ..way downhill ..Lesson learned, we will stick to Landmark Cinemas.

  • Kory C

I came to this location to see The Little Mermaid, the day it came out. The service provided was definitely good, however, the quality of the seats were not so great. When you pay additional funds for a VIP experience, you would expect it to be worth it. Unfortunately, this was not the case. I also just went to the Landmark Cinema in Orleans and paid a fraction of the price I paid at the VIP, and the experience was MUCH better. Due to the service being good, I am giving this a two star. Had the service not been great, it would be a 0/10. Also, the food was meh.

  • Sonia Myre

Very disappointed with my most recent experience at the VIP. I had called and left a message to ask about the storing of mobility aids and no one called me back. We also had to use the elevator with is actually inside the kitchen area. It was difficult to navigate, uncomfortable and frankly degrading to have to ask to be assisted with this. Once there there was an extremely limited wine and beer selection, and our mediocre nachos came out cold. The one star is for Amelia our server, who handled all these issues with grace and compassionate care.

  • Seeing the world In a different way

One of the best and most comfortable places to experience watching and listening to a movie in Ottawa is at the Cineplex Cinemas at Lansdowne park. There are several theatres within the complex so you can select your favorite movie and choose either up scale or ultra up scale VIP seats. The ultra upscale VIP seats are well padded and recline almost like a bed. These premium seats do come at a premuim price. But it is fun to treat yourself once in a while. If you like my reviews, videos or photos give them alight camera action thumbs up

  • James C

I really enjoy coming to this cinema, including on occasion spending a bit more so I can enter a VIP room, where you can order food and alcoholic drinks to watch during the movie. In terms of films, I find that they mostly show movies that are aimed at adults, which is why if I want to watch a picture with my young children I often go elsewhere. However, what my children really like about this cinema is the arcade. In fact, my latest visit here wasn't to watch a movie, but rather to accompany my kids so they could play arcade games.

  • Pamela Eastwood

Vip lounge:3 stars for food. Basic, tasty, cold fries, small fish for fish and chips. 3 stars service. Friendly but a little slow and in- attentive. 2 star bathrooms, not functioning properly. Theatre: 1 star. The seat I had literally looked like a cat got at it. The tray had peeling plastic covering. My chair did not tip back, buttons broken on both mine and my girlfriend. These are not recliner chairs. Concept: 4 I really enjoyed being able to have a tray and access to drinks and food. Decent menu options.

  • Sam pike

Paid extra for vip and it was horrible. The seats aren’t even that much more comfortable and the service was done right awful. You couldn’t get a popcorn at the counter you had to order in your seat. After I ordered I waited for awhile people were still bringing in orders after the movie started but mine never came. After about an hour into the movie I walked out to try and get my popcorn and drink but they were out and had to wait around for a manager to give me a refund. Would not recommend.

  • Kim Alcock

Other than a great location and the fact that they serve alcoholic beverages, I have nothing else good to say about this place. They staff were barely there, there are rowdy teenagers swarming the theaters in the middle of the movie, making lots of noises and playing with their cellphones disturbing other viewers. The staff don't really care to remove them. Also, my scene account got compromised aday after I visited this theatre. This never happened whenever I visited other theaters.

  • David Perras

Paid extra for the cinema avx experience only for it to be held in the stuffiest, hottest theater I've ever been in. It was almost unbearable. Also the pre-show ads were at a concert-level loudness. They were definitely louder than any part of the movie and my ears were ringing before the movie even started. Left the theater with a massive headache. Seats were pretty comfy though, if they fixed the two things I mentioned it would be much more enjoyable and worthwhile experience

  • I T

Last time we went, they kicked me out for eating the diet-specific snacks I had brought. I was heavily pregnant and on a specific diet, but couldn't eat unless it was THEIR food. This time, we can't even go, because their online ticket purchase tool doesn't work, and their phone line for the box office (which doesn't even forward from the main menu???) goes straight to voice-mail. Unbelievable. I guess they don't want to take people's money? Cool. I'll bring it elsewhere.

  • Maria

Tried all the theatres, they have nice seats that recline a bit and vip is nice and comfy but mainly for people who want a movie and dinner experience as they bring everything to you. The UltraAVX screen was nice and big, graphics were crispy. Their D-BOX is really fun but for action packed movies like the new Avatar one, it took 30mins to get used to but it was really enjoyable and interactive with the movie, definitely worth the price (for the right movie)!

  • Philip Anderegg

Fishbowl cocktails are delicious here! Go to the vip lounge to order your own! They will bring it to your seat if you are watching movie in the VIP section. FYI they are $19 plus tax and tip each. Also the food here is better than most cinemas, again a bit pricier than outtakes at Blair, but 100% worth it. Also parking is free at TD Lansdowne if you're seeing a movie, you just have you get your parking validated from one of the workers at the Cineplex.

  • Paul Caron

Twice in the past week I have been to see a movie and have my parking ticket not validated correctly. Have had to repark my car ( not easy when the lot is full) and go back to the theater to get it revalidated. Moral of this rant, don't go straight to the exit even if you are under the 3 hours free parking you should get when the ticket is validated correctly, go to the machine by the cinema elevator and confirm it was actually done correctly

  • Terry Sabourin

Edit. 6 years ago I gave a 5 star review, today it has become a 1 star. Shame on you cineplex, the VIP experience is gone. Both my wife's and my seat were broken, the tray to set your food down was torn and did not move, the snack bar was inaccessible during the movie so we could not get extra items. We will not be returning, paying a premium price for a ticket that reminds me of a discount theater is not good value at all. Shape up cineplex!

  • Titus Smith

Fairly well-run theatre and the free parking makes it still viable in the Glebe. Have been here at least ten times. Things to work on: Better trained camera operators. Have had two different films here where there was a malfunction that was caused probably by someone on their phone in the booth. Climate control. I’ve been here in non-hot days where the theater is crazy hot for some unknown reason. Reopen concessions on third floor.

  • Dan Pershick

Replacing employees with machines and forcing patrons to pay an additional "processing fee" on top of the ticket price is ridiculous. Also, no one checked on the theatre once, theatre 3 right outside the concession area, no one shut the door, all you could hear was noise coming from the hallway if you were seated near the back of the theatre. Charging $1.99 for butter? $4.29 for a bottle of water. Get outta here

  • Samantha D

I would recommend trying a different theatre in Ottawa. There are two concessions stands but they only use one and it is incredibly slow and messy. The staff were young and sweet but appeared to be very unmanaged and disorganized. The theatre hadn't been cleaned in between shows - there was popcorn and 3D glasses & wrappers on almost every seat. Due to events at TD place, you may have to compete for parking.

  • Esteban

Nice cinema if you’re going to the VIP theatres upstairs. The regular cinema seats are not so nice or comfortable. There’s definitely a big difference and I think it’s worth the extra price and the service. Aside from that, the location is awesome, the parking is great and there’s tons of spot underground. The popcorn is fresh, and I’d you’re in the VIP, the served meals are good.

  • Hmoad Hajali

Vip is not worth it. We got the tickets for free and I’d still rather have gone to Gloucester. Seats reclined about as much an airplane seat would. Service would’ve been good but they were really overwhelmed. People didn’t get their food. The service I personally did receive was excellent but honestly, the experience was over rated. I recommend going to a different theatre.

  • Christopher Tharby

My first experience with VIP was the winter of 2015 watching Star Wars and eating a burger and fries with an alcoholic egg nog. This memorable first experience would bring many others as this is my go-to for cinema experience. Having the option for a 19+ film viewing is hard to understate. If you don't mind paying extra for your night out, make this your pick for a theater!

  • Adam

Went for the VIP experience with friends. The screen is smaller in the VIP than standard elsewhere. Service was good, attentive, polite. Food had decent amoubt of options, portions weren't terrible; but was on the bland side. The condition of the vip theatres have degraded something fierce though; worn chairs, could be cleaner. Value for the experience not really there.

  • Nick995

it is very nice, I just saw the guardians of the galaxy 3 movie, I highly recommend. My first time going to this location after years of going to the one near brittannia/ bayshore. I enjoyed the experience. nice popcorn, good seating, located in a convient location too. Amazing experience. The popcorn and drink can be a bit overpriced, but other than that i was happy.

  • Anmol Bedi

This was the worst VIP experience ever. I always like to take advantage of VIP and have tried the VIP experience in many cinemas. The VIP at Lansdowne does not qualify nor should it qualify as a VIP experience. Seats do not recline and are filthy and worn. The service is unwelcoming. Paying for VIP will not get you the over-sized Premium Seats. Don’t get fooled.

  • Patty Cado

Have to give this theatre a 3 rating. The front area of the theatre looks like a bit run down with floors needing some work but when we entered the seating area I was surprised at how comfortable the chairs were. The screen was huge and we reserved the 'couple' seating where they recline back. Popcorn was a bit stale but overall good experience!

  • Dylan Sutton

The projection was out of focus! Saw Oppenheimer on 2023-08-07 at 6pm on "ultra" AVX. I would have had a sharper image watching it on my phone. Why pay premium for less quality? Drinks and popcorn is overpriced. Walk 2 minutes to the whole foods nearby and get a bag of chips or pretzels or whatever for less than half the price. Utter garbage.

  • Jen T

What you would expect from cineplex, I prefer big comfy chairs and smaller screens so I don't always choose vip seating...and the popcorn they bring in vip usually sits around for a while before being brought to you at your seat, I personally prefer Scotiabank Gloucester over this location, unless I want to do things at landsdown

  • Olivia Ward

Paid for AVX in theater 6 to see Oppenheimer. Movie was great, but seats were mediocre in terms of comfort and the theater was extremely hot. I almost wanted to leave halfway through because of how uncomfortable it was. Not the movie night I was expecting. Won't be going to this location again. Totally ruined the experience.

  • Maryam El-Akhrass

The VIP experience was disappointing. The seats are in a really bad shape and only the back reclines (no feet support). Thetrays to put your food on are also old and coming apart. If they charge extra for the vip, they should at least have vip worthy rooms. Food was okay. I prefer Landmark in Kanara or Orleans by far.

  • Claire Smith

I used to really love this place. Went recently and many of the seats no longer recline or have a working foot rest. They are marketed as a full recliner still so it is quite disappointing. There was no indication when purchasing tickets that this was an issue. Note this is in reference to the VIP theatres only.

  • Nadine MacDonald

Splurged on VIP and got a broken seat, and our food and drink delivered to another guest. We only got our order over an hour into the film when my husband left to ask where it was. They gave us free passes for the inconvenience but it was a disappointing experience compared to our last visit to VIP pre-pandemic.

  • Maeve Blake

Went to see Oppenheimer last night. Only one concession stand open and the line was about 50 people deep, with only two staff serving. People behind me talked the entire way through the movie, which has been my experience with every movie I’ve seen at Landsdowne. Not an enjoyable experience at all

  • Kay Campbell

my usual theatre since it's closest in proximity. clean and comfy. i won't eat here again though, i ordered the burger and it was not great. i also found it strange that we had to sit beside our half-eaten food for the entirety of the movie. as someone who's sensitive to smells... no thanks.

  • Robert H

The theatres are nice, but they force you to wait in line at the one open concession for an unreasonable amount of time (25 min and counting), even though there are other concessions in the building … all closed. It is Saturday night at 7! This screams “we don’t care about our customers”.

  • Katy Ahadpour

I went to watch a movie in VIP section, there wasn't anyone to check our ticket and let us know that our tickets will reduce the price of parking so we end up paying 20 dollars for the parking. Also the chair that I had to seat in was broken and the back of it wasn't adjustable.

  • Curtis Froats

Good place for the most part. Free parking if under 3 hours. Just get it validated from the ticket clerk. The chairs in the VIP theater have clearly been worn in. Looks a bit ratty. The food was good, service is was good. Took a bit to get food but overall a good experience.

  • Krista Casselman

One of my favourite cinemas! So many restaurants nearby, and parking underneath is very convenient. Seats are comfortable! Never any complaint with the popcorn! And, they will validate your parking ticket so that the fee is waived for parking for the duration of the movie!

  • Miranda Benoit

We normally love VIP. Food is great but the seats are so worn that non of them recline. They are so uncomfortable, I almost had to leave the movie early last night. Decided to write a review because of the pain and stiffness my shoulders/back are in today. …

  • Chris B

Very clean theater gotta watch the movie Gran Tursimo For those like extra affect gotta try the dbox seating section for action filled moves you pay extra for the seating better go on Tuesday or cost 55.00 for two people plus drinks and snacks Cheaper on Tuesday

  • Hoodie Parkway

Attended VIP for the first time ever tonight. I ordered food from the menu and it was suprisingly tasty. It came very quickly, and our server Sierra brought the food out so fast and she was so kind & welcoming! Great service here, will return again …

  • lilliako

Staff is always so lovely. Friendly and approachable. I went o watch the DnD movie and it was hilarious. I dropped something behind the chair and I noticed a lot of popcorn, a bra and underwear. My only question was why ahaha. Totally not the place's fault.

  • Arij Ouedhrefi

Worst Customer Service ever !! Sierra at the entry of the VIP section is super disrespectful. Her attitude was horrible for no reason. All the employees are just not it, all super young and they look lost all the time, dont even welcome their customers.

  • Vanessa LeBlanc

Weve always loved to go here for VIP, makes movie night even nicer with food and drinks. Although, I think it's time for them to replace the seats/leather, they are getting pretty worn out. I was excited to see some new stuff on their menu though too!

  • René Daigle

The VIP has gone down in quality and way up in price. And if you want food, by all means avoid the Buffalo colliflower. I mean, unless you're looking for steamed colliflower with a goopy sauce all over it. I'm an eater and I left more than half there.

  • Nickster

We got tickets for the over 19 area. The seats were big and comfortable but the reclining seat did not work. Lots of staff around to get your order and was delivered in good time. However the adjustable table did not move. Still enjoyed the movie.

  • Peter Dongelmans

Popcorn impregnated smell everywhere, just too much. Needs better ventilation. The sound of the movie was good but sound of trailers and ads was extremely loud, had buzzing ears after it. Screen ok but VIP seats worn off and ready for the garbage

  • George Budnar

The VIP experience was at best not good. Broken chairs and waiting for the service was extremely painful. You will be better just going to regular projections. Even the screen had a defect or stain visible even when the projection was on it.

  • Chris B

VIP is the way to go! It is an experience you will never forget. The lazyboy, lean back comfort of the theatre and the multiple menu options served right at your seats make it a perfect date night. Thanks to the staff for making it perfect.

  • Gary Edmonds

In VIP, you’re paying $25 per ticket for seats that don’t recline and are worn out. They also wouldn’t take our order because we arrived during the previews. The guy was willing to come over to our seats during the previews just to tell us

  • Jandra Drodge

I have been trying to book tickets using "VIP" admit one vouchers for years and there is always some reason why they cant be used. I even asked to downgrade my "VIP" voucher to see a "regular" show instead and they still wouldn't alow it.

  • Blake Hamilton

A simply outstanding experience. From the moment you enter, you’re greeted by a wonderfully modern and inviting atmosphere. The staff are friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with any queries or recommendations. Very comfortable

  • Badara AM N'Diaye

I went there with my girlfriend for the first time and It was a great watching a movie there. Everything is perfect, except sometimes there is no one in the Customer’s service precisely at the night. But the place is so cool and amazing.

  • Kaylee Newton

I went to watch Annabelle yesterday. Very rude waitress, does not come up to you, you must go up to her which defeats the whole purpose of a waitress I could of just bought it before at the counter. was being super rude about the seat

  • Sharmake Abdi

I went for the VIP experience for a Black panther, it was pretty amazing Free parking lot for 3 hours The food was good, The chairs were comfortable and they bring you the food straight to your chair. In conclusion it was amazing.

  • Tony Delgado

Hands downs the best sound quality theatres in the city! The seating was very comfortable, especially the recliners. The food may be a bit pricey but it is fully worth it! It’s my go-to theatre and I’ll keep coming back for more!

  • Hanea Rezk

Amazing place. I have seen spider man - no way home. Amazing movie avengers are taking the cinema every where. I love it. Great actors. Vip lounge is nice quiet clean but I think some seats need renovations …

  • Vincent Valentino

Screen contrast is too high and image too dark. COMMON KIDDOS! Get new bulbs or calibrate properly. Watched 3 movies there recently, and in different theatres. Its just a massive disrespect to the audience and filmmakers :(

  • Julie Beauchemin

Went here with my boyfriend a couple months back, Dinner was great, but the fact that the seats didn’t recline was very disappointing. We were really uncomfortable the entire movie. 3 stars is for the great staff and food.

  • M.-E. P.

The service was awesome, worthy of the ‘VIP’ mention. My attention was mostly brought to how much the place (the theatre room itself) looked run down. Damage to the chairs… I does look like it’s been operating for years.

  • Flavia Jungen

WORST cinema experience of my life! - very dirty floor with popcorn all over - most uncomfortable seats I ever sat in (3 hours Ryanair is better than this) - too cold in the beginning of the movie, super hot by the end

  • Bill Owen

Worn out pseudo "VIP" seats. Tilt mechanism was inoperable. Food service was prompt but I didn't try the food. Some phone addict in front of me kept checking her phone. Staff said nothing. Small screen. Meh experience.

  • Tyanna Cellucci

VIP theatre used to be awesome pre-pandemic but the seats no longer recline at all and so the foot rest doesn't come up either. They do not tell you this when buying tickets though, still says full recliner online.

  • Keagan L (MercenaryPhotography)

Very nice upscale theatre. Haven't tried the VIP yet but the standard theatres are great. Have tried the VIP, my preferred way to watch movies now so I can skip having kids in the theatre. More enjoyable viewings.

  • Ethan Pick

It’s pretty much what you would expect from a cineplex. I really like the multi-story design though it is a cool theatre. I have never really been super impressed or disappointed here but it’s always a good time.

  • Carla Vander Voort

Thought we were too late to get service to our seats in the VIP theater - service continues until the end of the credits. Good comfortable chairs and spacious, worth the expense, especially for a longer movie

  • Christopher DeLongchamp

Enjoyable experience, except the pizza was probably a war crime of some sort. But I enjoyed the movie, and the staff were nice. I'll probably go back. Sidenote: Weirdest layout for a theater I've ever seen.

  • Arden Leon

The theater was so hot, when I got out I my entire back was dripping in sweat, I cant imagine they actually clean every chair too so I was probably sitting in the sweat from the rest of the day as well.

  • Patrick McCann

When even the popcorn tastes better, you know you found THE movie theater to keep coming back to! Free inside parking, most comfortable seats ever and I haven't even tried the VIP section yet!!!

  • Dennis Norton

Overall the VIP experience was very good, but only four stars because only one of our three reclining chairs would recliner. Staff said that many chairs were not working and need to be repaired.

  • Tyler Despatie

I attended a VIP theatre experience. The reclining chair for both myself and my wife were broken. Most of the recliners have leather peeling off and others found their chairs were broken too.

  • Serhii Balia

Spend almost 60$ just to rest with my girlfriend in VIP chair for 15 minutes. It's impossible to watch movie from AA line because felt noisy. Why are you selling this tickets? I feel tricked.

  • Anastasia T

Don’t buy VIP tickets , unless you want to wait for your drinks 40 minutes after you get your food , and then an hour more to get popcorn. (To be clear everything was ordered as 1 order)

  • Arutyun Airapetiyan

Ripped off chairs and tables bottom of the seat doesn't move...I have been to many VIP cinemas around the world and I am disappointed with how run down this one is

  • Hayden Chen

1st movie experience since 2020 pandemic. Besides long waiting because Frontline served a couple over 10 mins for some reason, but overall experience is good!

  • galaxypeaches

What a great theatre! The building itself is lovely and well-taken-care of, and we had a wonderful time with the arcade. Definitely coming back to this one.

This review is my opinion based on attending a night movie at this location. Website: Tried for a whole hour to book through their website and kept getting
