"I would give it a 5 stars, because this place is very clean, love those recliner chairs, respectful of Covid distance (reserve on-line 1st is my suggestion) and staff is good, but we went in for an IMAX experience, and the sound was above what you call loud, louder then a big concert, wish I would been able to measure the level of noise to see if it was legal! As a result, me and my kids couldn't stand it and all had anxiety and my daughter was crying and she's 12 years old"
"Best theater experience in ottawa"
I don’t go to the movies super often, but when I do, it’s for carefully chosen movies that I really, really want to see. Over the past few months, I’ve gone to this theatre 3 times. I have consistently the same annoyances whenever I’m there. 1) what is with the popcorn set up? It’s the worst idea ever. The popcorn just sits there in the cases for who knows how long. I’ve seen people moving the bags around and picking and choosing which one they should take…gross. Of the times I’ve gotten popcorn, it’s always pretty stale and not very warm (again-who knows how long it sits there). And with every single popcorn as well, I’ve asked for double real butter. I don’t know what the method or scale for determining what double butter is…but the popcorn is consistently dry. If I’m paying $3 for butter, I’d like to at least know it’s actually on the popcorn. When I went this weekend, the guy at the counter did actually appear to pump a lot of butter onto the popcorn, but by the time we sat down in our seats, the butter had leaked all over my partner’s jacket and onto my lap when I was sitting down. The popcorn was still extra dry, so I guess all that butter the guy put on, was actually only in the bottom of the bag. 2) the bathrooms aren’t awful, but the stainless steel stalls in the ladies washrooms remind me of a crime scene….tons of handprints etc all over them. It doesn’t give the appearance that the bathrooms are cleaned thoroughly. 3) the area for pop is consistently quite messy, but not nearly as messy as the station outside the cash area where the napkins/condiments are. The area around the popcorn case is always a mess too (I know it’s a bit harder to manage there, since that’s where everyone is grabbing their popcorn from) Things I love: awesome snack selection (popcorn…questionable as mentioned above), however, there’s just about anything you could want. The reclining seats in the theatres are the best thing ever. We saw a 3 1/2 hour movie and I was comfortable the whole time. The theatre temperatures are always comfortable too. The cleanliness in the theatres has been good every time I’ve been there.
Ok, so I’m not complaining about the theatre. But I will be complaining about the lack of mindfulness and common courtesy from people in the theatres. This is probably the 5-6th movie I’ve seen this year and it seems that every time I go, people are talking or kids are fooling around. Parents please do better and teach your kids proper movie theatre etiquette. I was just there this evening, and these kids sitting behind me, and my family, were constantly talking, playing with the buttons on their chairs, taking off their shoes and obnoxiously dropping them on the floor, fighting over popcorn, etc. I don’t know why it seems that every movie I’ve been going to, teenagers, young adults, kids, whoever, are constantly talking and don’t know when to stop. I can understand if you need to just whisper something to the person beside you but having a full out conversation?! Come on… people, please recheck yourselves when going to a movie and please be courteous of other people who go to actually watch the movie. This will be the last time I step foot in the theatre for a while, which really sucks for me because I love going to see movies… so thank you to those who have ruined it for me. People, please DO BETTER.
6 stars. Cineplex, eat your heart out! The concession area is phenomenal. Tons of selection, very well spaced out and organized, and Coca-Cola Freestyle machines which are great! Plus, if you are a member, you get free refills on large popcorn and drinks. Remember when that used to be the standard?! Lastly, a single line, multi register queue to ensure that guests are attended to quickly and fairly. Now for the theater itself. The COMFIEST seats I have ever had, with adjustable power reclining and amazing leg room. The lights during the movie were a bit brighter than I'm used to, but that might be for the best because otherwise I might have fallen asleep in the chair! It's almost like someone had a list of everything people hate about movie theaters and vowed to do the exact opposite. My only complaint is that this location is 1 hour away from my house; if Landmark opened one closer I'd be tearing up my Scene card!
I would give it a 5 stars, because this place is very clean, love those recliner chairs, respectful of Covid distance (reserve on-line 1st is my suggestion) and staff is good, but we went in for an IMAX experience, and the sound was above what you call loud, louder then a big concert, wish I would been able to measure the level of noise to see if it was legal! As a result, me and my kids couldn't stand it and all had anxiety and my daughter was crying and she's 12 years old. I went to IMAX before at other location, it wasn't as loud! We went to customer service and they did lower it a tiny bit, but still too loud. The staff was amazing, refunded us, and we bought regular tickets without IMAX and we just went to see the same movie "Jungle Cruise", and all was good after that. After the movie, we always stop at the little arcade because my son adore basketball and we all love the air hockey table.
Best theater experience in ottawa. The seating, staff and experience FAR outweighs anything cineplex could ever imagine creating. It's clear that management at Landmark care about the experience infinitely more than any other theater and major props is due to them for that. Staff are friendly Free refills on popcorn and drinks with a free membership is a huge bonus considering the absurd price concessions are at any theater. Restaurants are nearby which makes for a great evening with dinner and a movie. Overall 8/10 seating could make a bit more sense as in most cases seats on the far ends of the rooms really don't make any sense since you have to basically turn your head 45° to watch something which isn't great.
From the seamless online movie selection to easy parking access, every step of my experience at this top-notch theater is a pleasure. The welcoming doors usher me into a haven of entertainment. The concession area is a treasure trove of delights, from delicious popcorn to tempting candies and refreshing fountain drinks. I consistently discover hidden gems to enhance my movie experience. Quick service and friendly staff make wait times negligible. The plush, reclining seats provide comfort similar to sitting on a spacious couch. Every visit to this theater is a treat, and I eagerly anticipate more memorable nights here. Highly recommend this outstanding venue for an all-around enjoyable cinematic experience.
I haven't been here in a while, I usually go to Cineplex. Looks like they have done some renovations since the last time I was there. They are doing work outside too. Nice to see improvements being made, making for a better experience. Little things are noticeable in a movie theater. These seats are oddly high, not sure why, they are comfortable recliners though, especially during a long movie. Not too heavy on the number of previews/trailers. I find that Cineplex has a lot more, plus ads. Landmark has its own rewards program, and while not as versatile as Scene, it means you can still earn points no matter which theater you prefer.
Wow! It’s been a few years since I last saw a movie here. The recent upgrades / facelift are impressive. The concession stand, or should I say, ‘marketplace’ will explode your sweet-tooth. The self-serve popcorn, the variety of sweets and other treats is impressive. You can grab yourself a coffee, cappuccino, pretzel, hotdog and the ubiquitous nachos and cheese - so there’s all the salty and all the sweet you need. The drink fountain - offers over 100 drinks! So - everything for every taste. There’s a push to those reclining chairs and I am a big fan! It truly is a great way to watch a movie.
Hey went to see the movie on Sunday July 9 . My wife and I were sitting comfortably watching the movie when I started to sweat I asked my wife if it was just me she said it’s hot in this theatre. I’m pretty sure the AC was turned off !So I researched about things and I learned that because of the movies views or stance on child adductors lots of theatre’s around the country we’re doing this to the movie watchers because they don’t agree with direction of there stance on children being taken from there families! If anyone agrees with me on this uncomfortable movie watching let me know!
A must see true story at the iMAX Landmark Theatre in Kanata. The US government has been trying to shut this movie down. There is no streaming, no black market access on this movie either. I stayed to watch the credits and Jim Caviezel (TV Series "Person of Interest) portraying Tim Ballard , had a message to convey to the public after the credits. It was worth the wait. This movie will keep running as long as many people go see it. It was to have been yanked off the the theatres in July 2023 (that's 3rd hand information). I want to see this movie again. Please go and see it.
Great Movie, thoroughly enjoyed it . Attended between Sept 9 & 15 and it was pure Hell! Theatre temperatures were less than 20 Degrees C or 68 Degrees F. I spoke to an attendant shortly after arriving she said she would check, advised me that it takes TIME to warm up those theatres! TIME TIME What do they turn HEAT on 20 minutes before 1st Movie?? I will be going to Bayshore Cinemas from now on. I know approximately what the temp. was because my friend keeps her home at a constant 68 Degrees F or 20 Degrees C all the time 12 months of the year and EVEN she was FREEZING!!
As an avid movie-goer, I really enjoy going to Landmark Cinemas Kanata. The food/snacks area is really well-organized and convenient, there's a nice variety of theatres inside that offer different sozed screens/capacity/seats to suit your needs, and the staff are always so nice! A special thank you to Dwight and Rutendo, who went out of their way and helped with a movie voucher issue and allowed us to see the movie we wanted despite not having the correct vouchers, they were fabulous! This team and management deserves a lot of recognition :)
Had the occasion to see a movie at Landmark Kanata yesterday (Oct 15). Great venue, love landmark as a rule but.... I just about froze in there for 2 hours. It is October TURN ON THE HEAT. I met a group of girls who were carrying blankets when I left the theater. They said it is an ongoing problem. No excuses Landmark, turn on the heat and turn down the sound. Nothing needs to be that loud. It is not only Landmark, it is all theaters, TURN DOWN THE SOUND. My ears ring for hours after I see a movie, there is no need for it to be so loud.
Saw Elvis, Sunday Jan 29 at noon, D3, D4. We had the whole Theatre 18 all to ourselves, my wife and I. What could be better? But I do have suggestions. 1. Sound volume for the very long, too long, commercials preceeding the movie was MUCH TOO LOUD!!! 2. And, the last speaker near the ceiling, closest to the projection room above the entrance/exit, has an annoying buzzing sound. It is probably a result of a blown coil or cone because of the excessive volume at times. The movie was enjoyable.
It's probably the best cinema this side of Ottawa. Large amount of screens means many varieties of movies (they even had the new Slam Dunk in both Dub and Sub). Great food, I like the set up of grabbing popcorn and drinks before checking out. I only give 4 stars because I find the recliner seats uncomfortable for long periods of time (though I appreciate the space they give in front of the seat like when someone is passing by while your seated.) The better seats are in the Imax theatre.
Someone was on their phone for half the movie a few rows ahead of me and there's nothing I can do. I tried to enjoy the movie last night but it was hard to pay attention with the lady being on her phone, please use the phone outside of the theater during the movie. Not worth the price when that happens and I drove 40 mins to get to the theater. Please do better or implement a way to enjoy the paid movie experience better
This is my favorite theatre in Ottawa! The location is huge! It is extremely well kept and tidy. There is a huge selection of foods and treats at the concession stand so it can cater to all. The theatre itself is big and the seats are comfy, especially the recliners! The screen was big but not as big as I pictured. There are lots of arcade games for kids to enjoy. I highly recommend if you're in the area!
Excellent recliner seating and the safety bar does not obstruct your view of the screen. Sound system is also very good, expect to be surrounded by sound like your in the movie. New Premier Seating is superb . Located midway up from entrance- deck great view of full screen for total private immersion into the movie. Unfortunately, it's not available for Imax . However, the screen is quite expensive.
This theatre rocks. The renovations were spectacular. The new vending area is cool, and I'm sure leads to more impulse buying but the selection is incredible. Of course normal movie theatre prices, but that is to be expected. They also now serve beer and wine which is a nice addition. The seating is comfortable, reclining and it feels private even when someone is beside you. Favourite theatre in town.
Alfredo, the man at the food counter, was fantastic. We came in for a 9pm movie and had yet to eat dinner and he made pretzel bites and jalapeño poppers to order for us and even offered to drop it off at our theatre in case we were missing the movie. This man deserves a raise. Five star service, above and beyond from all the staff here tonight.
The new seats are amazing and provide a lot of leg room. They can be adjusted so you’re tilted back but not all the way flat. The cinema is located near a variety of restaurants and shopping. Parking is free but might be further then usual for someone who has trouble walking far. I would definitely recommend this theatre to any movie buffs.
Such an amazing experience. We reserved the premiere seats for The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes. Felt so much more comfortable , spacious and nicer than the regular seats. They come equipped with reclining seat warmer, coat hanger, side table with under storage and cup holders. I highly recommend this Cinema.
I just submitted a 'Shout Out" for my stepdaughter, and the process was super simple! There was a small hiccup with the photos I loaded. Chandler was amaaaaazing from the live chat! He instantly walked me through and and we were able to reload via email. Problem solved and shout approved! Fabulous staff support! …
Favorite cinema to watch any movie. The sound, the space, the comfort, the popcorn and drinks, games - in short everything is nice about it. This is always on first priority when it comes to see movies. And the bundle package is worth buying which includes the movie tickets, popcorn and drinks (medium) for two people.
Truly enjoyed my movie experience here. The seats are so comfortable. I love that they have made the whole consession stand set up quicker and more functional with the grab and go to the cash method. But the seats were my favorite part. Plus the floors actually weren't sticky which is always a bonus!
I love the popcorn, but the fact they don't have any of the Ninja Turtles merch or even the cardboard cut out bothers me greatly. The staff is always friendly and helpful though and I love the premium seating. I'll take a heated seat any day. They always have a good selection of movies too.
Great location. Theatres and washrooms are very clean, the employees are friendly and helpful. If there are any issues, (sound, temperature) they are quick to rectify and in one case the manager gave us free tickets for a future showing. It is mine and my family's go to movie theatre!
A much upgraded theatre. Seating is excellent. Concessions were decent. Price, on the other hand, was ridiculous. No way we can afford to do this with our grandchildren more than once per year. Frankly, I would rather stream movies in the comfort of my own home and save myself $180.
I love this theatre. It was our first visit and I’ll definitely return. The staff were friendly, the leather reclining chairs were comfortable and there were free refills on large size popcorn and fountain drinks. We used a Costco Night Out gift card which saved us a bunch of money.
Clean place. Mostly friendly staff but one time I had to deal with a not so pleasant employee when I went to complain about the movie not starting 15 minutes past showtime. We got free tickets for the inconvenience but the -1 star was because of that unpleasant employee.
What a pleasant surprise to see the changes. And the seats...so comfortable. I have difficulty walking and was rolled around in a complementary wheelchair by Dwight of Guest Servicez. He was so helpful it added so much to the outing. I definite will visit regularly.
We spent over 200 dollars if not more to watch in the theater . The bathrooms were disgusting, most out of order or extremely dirty. The floods sticky, staff walking past spilled stuff. Not happy with the service and makes second guest weather to come back or not.
Went to go watch a movie a couple of days ago and the AC stopped working halfway throughout the movie. It got extremely hot in the room quickly (I estimate at least 30C, it is mid July). After leaving the movie, there was no issue with the AC in the common area.
If I could leave zero stars, I would. I can’t describe how annoyed I am to have been forced to watch a movie with no popcorn. Because of the incompetent machinery, I was informed that 3 out of 4 of their popcorn machines broke down. I expect better next time…
Experienced IMAX, costed us $13.50 on weekday which was pretty good. Had an amazing experience with the IMAX movies. Trailer which was not IMAX compatible were blurry. Clean washroom. Sitting area outside the theatre, also few game for kids. Must go.
So big! I went again to check out an Imax 3d movie. The screen didn't seem quite as big as I thought it would be but the reclining chairs were amazing. It was full reclining. They have a great consession area. Overall a great theatre experience.
Definitely the best theatre in the city! Has the comfiest seats (recliner loveseats) + the best food purchase zone of all times! The C.C. works well for the most part as well (75% success rate; occasional issues with the channel connection)
First time and last time at landmark cinemas. Me and my friend went into the theater just the two of us. Thinking Ok no problem just going to be us in theater. This will be fun. Almost 10 people show up randomly. Literally all are talking
Overall experience was okay but multiple stalls in the washroom we're not stocked, I found this out the hard way, like literally no toilet paper in 5 stalls that I checked. For it to get to that point seemed very careless and thankfully
Took a car load to see Barbie. We didn't pre book our tickets so we got the front seats and they were actually really nice because they recline and they don't hurt your neck in the front row. Everyone had an amazing time. Lots of snacks
WOW! What a cinema! A true movie-lovers' experience! Reserved, reclining seats, 24 cinemas, an IMAX, beer and wine, a snack section like you've never seen, and super friendly staff! We will be going back for sure!
Screen -15, the last raw (E- Raw) reclining chairs are faulty , the controls are not working for at least 4-5 seats. Could not able to complain because nobody was there to answer. Spent 3 hours with stiff back.
I don't know what they did to their popcorn, but it was terrible tonight. Bland and slightly burnt. No salt. I even asked for salt packets and they don't carry any. Did not taste like theater popcorn at all.
Itis so good to see a movie out again! Even the consession stand was open! So nice! The scan code at the entrance caught us off guard but ll is good. An evening of fun finally. Get out and catch a flick!!!!
I usually enjoy watching movies here, but the last time I went to watch Spider-Man, the sound was so insanely quiet! I couldn’t even hear lots of dialogue from characters and it really annoyed me.
This is my favourite place to watch movies. Great location just off the highway and surrounded by restaurants and stores. Comfy reclining seats and of course... delicious buttered popcorn.
Loved going when it was owned by AMC and Empire, live it even more now. The renovations they made are great and the reclining seats are the cherry on top. The popcorn is DAMN GOOD too.
Was dragged in to see both barbie and Oppenheimer.... the seat for barbie was broken, and the idiot beside me in Oppenheimer wouldn't shut up...so bad experience for an imax flick...
Never has popcorn ready always a line up. Bathrooms don't have toilet paper in many stalls. It used to run great service has really gone down. We go to movies at least twice a month
Love everything about this cinema, best movie experience ever. Recliners are the highlight of this place, so comfortable and clean. Imax needs recliners too. Then it'd be perfect
We had a nice experience, the theatre runs a lot of shows from all across the globe. The screens were nice but there's always some room for improvement like cleanliness etc.
Our favourite Ottawa cinema: friendly staff, clean theatre and washrooms, fun games, variety of vending machines, large selection of drinks and refreshments and bar …
We came here in a time when things were a bit unstable! We plan to return because the time we spent here was memorable. A great place to go with the family !
Rotary Club of Stittsville TIFF series. We'll done. Wonder if Landmark Kanata can create a more accessible entrance for persons with canes and wheelchairs?
I had to get a refund for my tickets and the staff were very quick and kind. This is our favourite theatre. Very clean, the seats are comfy and spacious.
Even Malayalam movies are released over here. Limited shows but the theatre experience is great. Hopefully there will be more shows for Indian cinemas.
Fantastic variety of movies and viewing options (regular, 3D, IMAX, etc), comfortable seats, and a great environment. Concessions are very pricey.
We really enjoyed going to the movies again.. First time in YEARS and it was great to get back with our little guy.. He loved the experience.
The renovations they did here are incredible! The snack counter felt like a candy store. Seats were so comfy! Totally revamped this theater
Our favourite movie Theatre we drive 30 mins to get to when we have one 5 min from us but this one better seats are cozy and food is fresh
I drive all the way from Quebec just to experience the lovely reclining seats! I also love the level of cleanliness they maintain as well.
Everything is amazing about this place! Friendly staff, great service, clean and neat atmosphere. Love it and recommend it to everyone.
Great movie theatre, really like it. The only downside is that some of the movie seats are ripped up and damaged which is unfortunate.
So clean and comfortable. Love the concession set up and theatre was quality was top notch (good sound, visuals and generous seating)
Went to see an afternoon movie. If they make the chairs anymore comfortable, they might as well start charging people to sleep over.
Best theater in the city. Don't bother with Coliseum or Silver City. Terrible. Come here instead. Clean, nice seats, really good.
I wish Landmark had more locations in the city. Theaters are nice. The seating is awesome. Too bad they don't make movies, too!
Great place and THE place for faith-based movies that are outstanding and independently produced by smaller studios.
Comfy seats, great quality picture and sound. Lots of food options - and beer! Chips and queso dip were good.
The comfiest chairs of any of the local theatres. The premium seats are worth the few extra dollars.
Good theatre, but charges $1.50 for online bookings? Makes no sense, such a large price increase.
The seats were incredible. Big, cushy, and they reclined with placeholders for your drink.
The waiting area is quite nice but you need to be in line for a movie so don’t rest there.
The premier seats are great! They have added room, have a warm setting, and recline.
Went to see the new Indiana Jones movie.. Great seats very comfortable recliners.
Nice building but now they penny pinch more money for you to buy tickets online
Seats are comfortable, the venue is spacious and service is great.
Great time at a great place! Seats are super comfortable
