First strike was the fact that they require separate office visits for every single procedure “because of insurance”. Separate appointments for a pap smear and a physical; every other doctor I’ve ever been to will try to knock out as much routine work as possible in one appointment that they can. This is a sly way to charge insurance more for individual office visits. If you want birth control, you must have a “well woman” visit annually outside of your normal physical, even though the Dept. of Health only recommends a pap test every three years - again, a sly way to get more office visits to make more money. Second strike, I scheduled an appointment for some blood work right when they opened so I could get in before work. Waited 45 minutes before the front desk staff tells me their phlebotomist won’t be coming today. Third strike. I’ve been having unusual symptoms that I’ve been concerned about. I called yesterday morning to ask to speak to an RN or Dr. about it. Receptionist told me I would need to speak to the RN that did my last intake, and she would have to call me back the next day. Thought this was ridiculous as any Dr or RN would be capable, but I really am a patient person so ok. Today I never recieved a call, growing steadily concerned I called the clinic back, and was told the RN left a sample prescription for me. I don’t need a new prescription - I was just prescribed one. I just need someone to tell me if my symptoms are normal or not. I asked the receptionist if I could just speak to the RN for a minute and I was told she was on the way out the door and had to pick up her kid. So I brainstormed my symptoms with the receptionist, who said my symptoms may be normal, I may just need to try my current prescription longer, or I may need to go to the emergency room. But the sample of the new prescription is there if I want to pick it up before they close. Being in such a vulnerable state, trusting my pcp for advice, and then being completely ignored. I am still shocked over their disregard for my health. Needless to say, I’ve made an appointment with a different provider.

This was my first visit with a new provider in a new town I just moved to. I was recommended this facility, but thoroughly disappointed. I was there for 2 hours after printing out and completing all my new patient paperwork prior to arrival. A student was sent in to talk to me about birth control options. I explained all the specifics of what I wanted and what I didn't want, what I'd been taking for 14 years, and what I knew did not work for me. After the long wait, the NP spent 2 minutes with me and asked all the same things the student asked, as if she'd never heard it before. I was asked if I'd like a screening for STDs and I said sure. I was shown to the room where blood was drawn, but given no other instruction as to whether this was the end of the visit or if I needed to return to the exam room. After having my blood drawn, the technician and myself were both clueless as to where I should go. I stood out in the hall and asked from a distance to the office staff, "Where do I go now?" I was under the impression they were going to do a full exam. Nobody had explained anything. When it was finally determined that the "visit" was over, I was told I was scheduled for a "problem visit" not a "wellness visit." At this point I started to get upset about how much miscommunication there was (or lack thereof). The NP noticed I was upset and as she was trying to leave for the day, asked if I had any questions. I tried to explain my confusion about the type of visit and she asked, "But the student listened to your heart and lungs, right?" I said no. The student then volunteers to listen to my heart and lungs in the hallway after I've already been prescribed something and was on my way out. I said there's no point now. Im an RN and I guess I was just EXTRA disappointed, because I can see how the general public have no real control over their own health care. Most people wouldn't know what questions to ask. I do, and I still felt like I was in the dark about my own care.

I'm sitting here going through withdrawals from my very basic SSRI because they won't return my calls. I've called several times and left messages and have gotten no response. My medication was lost or stolen and they can't seem to understand that going from taking the same medication every day for the last decade to suddenly taking nothing is dangerous and uncomfortable. But to be fair, they didn't want to give me a new kind of medication instead either. So I guess they're happier doing nothing. I sincerely can't stand this group. They're easy to get into but they are so slow to get from beginning of the appointment until checkout. It's ridiculous. You can give them very detailed information about the kind of help you need like postpartum depression and they still ask you why you're there. They don't read charts, they don't follow up, they give ridiculous options. I'm overall very disappointed and am just done. The best nurse practitioner they had Amy B. Left for another state. Since then and the addition of Marybeth it's really gone downhill. Nothing is as great as being told that there's nothing they would do for your depression and that maybe I should try over the counter eucerin for my eczema. After they were informed that I've tried everything they suggested that the eczema should have been a different appointment than the PPD appointment, so I make a different appointment and they finally prescribe a cream for my skin- which cost $140 and didn't do a thing. I had previously mentioned a cream that I knew to be effective and that I was interested in but they decided to prescribe something else. Maybe they're being paid by that group? I'm so glad they're willing to take my money and give me stuff that won't work. Good luck to anyone that continues to see Marybeth and Cole Family Practice. Their appointments are expensive and they're so willing to nickel and dime you!

All about the money! First, they prescribed my wife a medication that she couldn't take due to breastfeeding. Let me add that my wife informed them of this up front. When my wife got her prescription filled, she open it up at home and reads a warning on the label about taking this medication while breast feeding. She calls back to Cole Family Practice and they offered to prescribe something else that was safe for breast feeding and said that they "hoped we didn't have to pay too much for the prescription" that we couldn't use. Good customer service would have issued a credit for what we paid since it is illegal for a pharmacy to accept returns. Next, my wife had a test done and we were called and told to come in for the results. This of course entails a $35 co pay and they will bill my insurance for an office visit. All for results to a test that has already been billed to the insurance. I asked Amy Cole why this couldn't have just been relayed over the phone to save us the worry of waiting to come in and the cost of an office visit and got no satisfactory answer. She said it was "her" preference to discuss this in person and I just held tight as to not make a scene in front of my wife and kid. What it really was, was a way to bill us and our insurance again for a 3 minute conversation about the results. I will never tell my wife who she can or cannot see when it comes to doctors and such, but I will be trying hard to sway her into finding a new practice to visit for her and my son's future needs.

I have been with this practice for a many years, when I welcomed my new bundle of joy I was happy to have her pediatric care be given by Cole family. However, I typically saw Annie and was not informed she had left the practice until I called to make my daughters first appointment. No one contacted me as her own patient letting me know that my doctor was leaving. The new practitioner is nice but does not seem professional. She didn’t even know what was in my daughters immunization shots and had to go look it up, or that I am on thyroid medicine when I came in asking to have my levels checked. Early this morning my daughter, who is less than three months, woke up with a cough. As a first time mom, this concerned me so I called the on-call practitioner. When she did call me back, an hour later, I was chastised by her saying to not call her for issues like this and she was not ready to start her day because she also has little ones. I get the struggle of being a working mother, but I also don’t think my child’s doctors shouldn’t treat their patients with disrespect. Needless to say, I will be taking my daughter to a new pediatrician and myself to a new general practitioner. I’m disappointed that what used to be a wonderful family care has turned into nonprofessional, disappointing care.

I have used this doctors office off and on since 2011 and have had several practitioners that I did enjoy and had a good experience with. However, when those practitioners move on in life we are never notified. Other offices who have far less intimacy with patients than this office would have based on the nature of what they do, send out notification when your practitioner moves on. It’s a very personal choice who a person will see and it’s very frustrating when at the last minute you find out that the person who’s been working with you for years it’s now gone. It has impacted my health more than once because I was at a place of needing to refill prescriptions and medications and was unable to do so because of the practitioner change. Not. Ok. While most of the office staff is lovely the head name on the ticket left a bad taste in my entire neighborhood when she vacated the office here. Good riddance. And I’m not so sure that how they work with insurance companies is really all that honest either. Every thing supposedly has to be billed separately and have separate visits... even during a time of Covid they want me to come in in two separate visits, one for a well woman exam and one for a general physical. How ridiculous. In general I really don’t recommend.

  • Rachel Henderson

I absolutely love them...but they are insanely slow. I have oftentimes had to wait over an hour from the time I walk through the door until I am actually seen. This gets difficult when I have my kiddos in tow! I have tried coming early to see if it makes a difference but it doesn't. I will continue to use them for now but don't expect to be seen in a timely manner. We are also currently battling strep in our household and this is the first practice I have ever been to that makes us all come in and pay copays so we can get prescriptions. My previous doctors in VA would allow us to call and let them know when we were all dropping like flies...I even brought my two year old in yesterday, they did not even do a strep test, we had to bring her back today because her brother's strep test came back positive and had to pay a whole new copay for the same visit. So now we have already paid $90 in copays, and I am now showing all the classic symptoms and they won't see me or write a script until tomorrow. It's just a bit frustrating when it is clearly all the same illness for all four of us sharing the same germs and identical symptoms.

After my most recent visit in the several years I’ve been a patient, time to move on. Total violation of privacy. I’ve had 1 or 2 good practitioners including Rhonda (so giving 2 vs 1 star) but after a while, someone new comes in without any notice. Recently, the most uncomfortable visit I’ve ever had at a doctors office. I went for a routine well women’s, but a different practitioner came in that I’ve never seen while ALSO bringing in two other people (possibly interns) without asking- very unprofessional. It’s not the first time someone I’ve never met walked in for a well women’s or annual physical. I almost left a couple years ago after inappropriate banter in the back office and seeing a different practitioner every time I had an appt. About that time, I saw Rhonda and she was great. Per the usual, though, ended up seeing someone different today- Amy. After the most recent experience with Amy and how uncomfortable it made me, I’ve had enough. Save the trip and eventual need to find a new practitioner. I would not suggest this practice.

  • Chad Grandell

Terrible service, very close to a malpractice lawsuit, had been taking our children there, our son had symptoms for over a month, wasn’t getting better, took him back twice in less than two weeks, never drew blood, never called to check in, Took him to an after hours clinic where the doctor immediately recognized something was wrong, went to Centennial emergency room and found out he had leukemia. The doctor at the after hour clinic recognized the petechiae, as well as enlarged liver and spleen which the nurse practitioner at Cole family practice apparently didn’t recognize or care. Not to mention it has been a month and a half since diagnosis, Centennial hospital sent this information to them and we still have heard nothing from them. This practice doesn’t need to be in business, And shame on them for their Condescending don’t care attitude. My son was very close to death.

  • Jenn B

I am very frustrated and will not return. This practice obviously cares more about the money than the people. I talked with someone on the phone to bring my daughter for a 4 month visit. I told them on the phone she was currently having feeding issues. So without letting me know they decided to mark my daughter as a problem visit instead of a well visit so I owe more. I called to ask why I was billed for a problem visit and conveniently the lady I spoke with on the phone to schedule only took note of the current feeding issue and not my mention of the main purpose of the appt- a well visit. So I get to foot a nice bill for nothing. Let me also add, they didn't prescribe anything, my daughter wasn't sick, so they did nothing to remedy a "problem". Also, when I called they didn't apologize or fix it they just asked for my payment. Went once and absolutely will not return.

  • Lauren Fritz

I could not possibly say enough good things about Cole Family Practice. From the very first visit as a first time mom, fresh out of the hospital trying to learn how to breastfeed they clearly dipped into their lunch hour to help a struggling mama out and I was immediately impressed and very grateful. Every time we go whether pediatric visit or otherwise we are always in good hands, treated with care are never rushed. Amy and Erin are incredibly kind, patient and knowledgeable and the entire staff is great and go above and beyond, including jumping my car for me when it died in the parking lot. If you are looking for a Family Practice that feels like a family this is the one. We feel so comfortable knowing we have them right around the corner or a telehealth call away if we are in need. Thank you all so much from the bottom of my heart.

  • Jeff Mathena

Generally speaking, it's a good doctor's office with competent staff. My complaint is more with policy. The front office worker I spoke with over the phone was unwilling to ask Dr. Cole a question after I had just paid for a visit ($100 w/out insurance) a couple weeks prior. For 5 minutes-10 at the most- of Dr. Cole's time, I was required to pay another $100. What's more, I was supposed to have a free follow-up visit 1 week prior to this conversation to have some sutures removed, and cancelled it because I had taken them out myself. While I like Dr. Cole and believe she is a good doctor, I was disappointed that I was not even allowed to ask my question. I'm sure the receptionist had her reasons for that, but it made me feel like they are more concerned with money than taking care one of their patients.

I switched to Cole Family Practice after reading they had experience with Thyroid Care. I have Hashimoto’s Disease and Hypothyroidism. Amy got to know me on a personal level and really listened to my concerns and thoughts about my health. She understood that I still didn’t feel well, even after my Endocrinologist had cleared me. She took multiple tests and diagnosed me with Adrenal Fatigue, and this was the first time this had ever shown up on my radar. Now we have a comprehensive plan to getting my life back on track and feeling better than I have in YEARS! I also see them for IV therapy and other regular doctor needs that come up. I recommend Amy and her practice to anyone looking for a more holistic or different view of their health. She has given me my life back!

  • Jamie Pforr

I REALLY wanted to like this place. Came here two years in a row for my annual physical exam, and my husband came here multiple times for his physical and then follow ups due to his blood work. It almost seems like they’re sexist toward him. His first time here he complained to me that they were rude to him. He can be moody so I chalked it up to that. He wasn’t wrong. On multiple occasions when they have called him or he has had to call he put it on speaker and they were the most unpleasant, straight rude people I’ve ever heard or dealt with at a doctors office. I experienced the same when I needed to call back for info, and when I’m in the office. I’m really bummed, but after multiple experiences of this nature, we will be finding another provider.

  • Carrie Jeffries

Ridiculously slow, like more than an hour+ behind and this IS the norm. Processed thru like an assembly line uninterested in getting all the facts. Recommended the least effective hormone test because it's the 'only' one they do even though it is a low/poor quality way to diagnose for HRT. Knowledge base is very limited with anything beyond the basics. Very unimpressed the nurse pracs. It's time we go back to full-fledged, fully trained, highly-experienced doctors who are versed in treating the 'whole' patient and not merely a few symptoms. After three years, I've had my fill and moving to a new facility in the area that has very high ratings. Bottomline: super slow, low competence, poor service - Do Not Recommend.

  • rosebesimple1

Oh my goodness... I was referred to Rhonda by a friend and I was blown away from my first visit with her today. She was amazing. I had a list of things that needed to be addressed including post Covid issues. She listened and was very thorough as to what the next steps should be. She wanted me to do my own research as well so I'm well informed for when I go back to do a full work-up. She was already on top of the things that needed to be done asap. I really appreciated her thoroughness and "jump into action" attitude so we could figure out what was going on. Extremely pleased with my first visit!!!

  • V Eye

When you have a random charge and call about it. Trying to get an answer that they clearly cannot answer so they send u the visit notes that reflect alot of false info. with a rude sticky note! So u call back to still find the ans and get something totally different with an attitude that you are a bother 2 them. no one knows who wrote the sticky note! So u ask for Amy Cole 2 call u about what happened. allow 1 week to go by, have to call again 2 try to tlk to her, and then again in another week. she clearly doesn't care to take the time to call her patients about the concern/s in her office!

  • Morgan Hood

My boyfriend and I were both sick with the same illness ( unknown exactly what it was ) but he went to an urgent care and got prescribed antibiotics and pain reliever… meanwhile, I went here. I spent $400 to be told to take an over the counter mucinex, which I had already been taking and told them that they weren’t helping me. They just shrugged their shoulders and sent me on my way. I’m never going back. This is just one visit. I’ve been multiple times before and they’ve never been able to help me, but always charge ridiculous amounts of money. Please go somewhere, anywhere else.

  • Rebecca Factor

We went to their office for new patient visits for my daughters. The initial visit was fine. Nothing extraordinary. However, when trying to get information from them or the office staff, they are very disorganized and even snobby with a “not my problem” attitude. They refuse to follow up or give suggestions as to next steps to take to get the information I need. It’s stressful enough to find good care for your family. It makes it worse when the supposedly “good care” is less than exceptional. We will now being going through the stress of finding new care... again.

  • Property Twins Nashville

My entire family goes to Cole Family Practice (myself, my husband, and out three young kids). We have been very happy so far. They are able to take care of well visits for all of us, women's health (they are Midwives and Nurse Practitioners, which I love!), and my husband's chronic illness. Only complaints are that the front desk is slow to respond to records requests and sometimes the wait in the waiting room is long. But otherwise, the nurses and practitioners are kind, knowledgable, non-judgmental, and very professional.Highly recommend!

  • Lauren Black

WE LOVE COLE FAMILY PRACTICE! Wow is all I can say. From the minute we walked in until the moment we walked out the door we felt like family and received the very BEST care! Dr. Rhonda is our new favorite human. She is intentional and thorough and all the good things the world has to offer. She listened to our concerns and loved on our baby boy like he was her own! I cannot say enough good. If you are new to the area like we are, run, do not walk to Cole Family Practice! Feeling so grateful to have found them!

  • jimin10sc

These so called medical professionals don't live in the real world. When all of the Doctors at the Hospital gave us the ok for my wife to go back to work, these idiots said" no, let's wait". And now that she's lost her job and subsequently our health insurance, these so called medical professionals don't want us as patients anymore? When the biggest decisions doctors like these have to make next week is whether to drive the BMW or the Porsche to work next Tuesday, then it might be time for a reality check.

  • Heaven Briagas

The worst exspirence I ever had I would not recommend this place the front desk lady (Paula) was so rude that she didn't even sign me in until 3:15 and I got here at 2:55 its 3:30 now. She told me to sit down didn't ask me one question I got up asked the lady could I get my daughters medical records and she very rudly said no I couldn't believe how I was treated here I felt in welcomed more like I was a burden to be there I felt as if my child who was very sick didn't mean much to this facility or faculty.

  • Aleah Bartlett

I have been going to the Cole Family Practice for a few years now. About a week ago I decided that I wanted to have an IUD and went in to get it. While I was getting it I passed out and had a seizure. Over the past week we have been trying to get everything taken care of and had some follow up appointments. I cant tell you how wonderful the staff is here. They worked with my schedule, and took amazing care of me. If you are looking for a family environment and a warm welcoming place you have found it!

  • Brandy Garza

I am so sad that this practice only gets those that say something negative. The NPs at this practice are AMAZING! I love that they are willing to keep an open mind and allow the patient to ask questions about alternative care. I am so excited they are expanding to include IV therapy services for nutrition and those "bad days" You will be missing out on exceptional care If you dont go find out for yourself. I will not go anywhere else!!

  • Dorothy Almaraz

I have been coming to this practice for over a year and the people are amazing!! I see Amy Cole. She listens, she hears and she cares! In my experience, it is difficult to find caregivers that actually take the time to listen to your concerns and address them all. I can’t imagine having a better care advocate. The office staff have all been pleasant and accommodating. I would not hesitate to recommend this practice to anyone.

  • Sarah Formidoni

I love Cole Family Practice! Over the past 3 years I have gone here for well-woman care, infertility visits for both me and my husband, prenatal care, and now well-baby visits. Amy was an incredible source of medical advice and support during our years of infertility, and now she is providing us that same support for our baby boy! I also greatly appreciated their help providing the necessary paperwork for my insurance needs.

  • Jennifer Gentry

I was in need of a new PCP as mine retired. I was having a medical crisis when I phoned Cole Family Practice and was seen that day. I was welcomed in and was put in the care of Daisha. The amount of time and compassion I was shown was above any I’ve ever received. We worked together to get me on a healing path and have found my “place and provider” There are angels on earth. Thank you Cole Family Practice

  • Yvieta Ulmer

I really appreciate the NP that saw me as she listened, answered my questions and gave me a better understanding of how to best take my prescription. She also was sensitive to my desire to use integrative methods to achieve better health and gave me guidelines to implement to achieve that goal. I am very grateful for this practice as over the years they have cared for the health of me and my family.

  • Kat Pavin

I have been seeing Amy at Cole Family for 8 years and I am constantly recommending her. She has helped me overcome acute illness, is a great listener, very thorough and compassionate! She doesn't want to just treat the symptoms, she wants to get to the source of what is causing them because she really cares. A wonderful place with caring and communicative staff, all helpful when I'm in need.

  • Michael Khater

Will never go there again. Now a patient at a 5-star clinic and love it. The new doctor took care of my issue in less than a week. It took 2 months of experimenting with my health here for my condition to only get worse. Then I get a bill in the mail for the copay for my visit even after copaying on site. Worst doctor I have visited in 5 countries and the 36 years I've been alive.

  • John McMunn

Over the past 2-years, I have found the Cole Family Practice to be Exceptional! Specifically, I credit Deishia Warren (FNP) for providing me with a new lease on life! In 2022 Deishia's astute assessment of a concern she discovered during a visit led to successful open-heart surgery. The entire Cole Family Team is outstanding...Their greatest strength: They Care.

  • camica robertson

My first visit everyone was very nice and sweet.but looks are deceiving I’ve never seen a doctor office that’s so unorganized with patients information.I’ve never been to a doctor that lies to about them calling your insurance company to verify approval.I even let my insurance company listen to the recording lies this doctor said.tbh! I’ll go somewhere else.

  • M R

Myself and our three sons all started seeing Erin at Cole Family recently. She made my sons feel at ease. This is no easy tasks for our teens. She treated us like she cared about us personally. The staff there is professional and helpful. We will continue to use Cole Family Practice for our family’s medical care. I would definitely recommend this practice.

  • Kristen Steele

I used Cole Family Practice before having babies, through both pregnancies, and now as primary for both my kiddos. We briefly tried another doctor just to avoid the drive out to Hermitage (we live in East Nashville), but quickly switched right back. The level of care we get there is stellar. They are basically part of our family now.

  • Leah Pacyna

Terrible. After a cursory new patient exam I was never called about my abnormal blood work. The only reason I found out about the results was because I requested a hard copy from the office. After making four phone calls to try to discuss the results I still have yet to speak with Amy Cole. Irresponsible and lackluster medical care.

  • Kirsten C

My family had been using Cole Family Practice for almost 2 years now and we couldn't be more pleased. The entire staff is professional, friendly, compassionate, and considerate. Several of my friends also use Cole Family Practice and have similar experiences. Their new office is easy to access and is beautifully decorated.

  • Roxanne Chilcote

I have going here for over 2 years. Rhonda is an exceptional lady. She takes the time to listen and visit with you. The dr’s that walk in say a few words do not care about you. She listens and explains how, when and why things are happening to your body. I recommend this office to everyone!!!

  • Lindsey C

Not a single complaint. Everyone has been so welcoming and helpful. I went here first for the infusions and now I’m trying their weight loss program. Though, yes it is pricy (I don’t have insurance), you get what you pay for. Highly recommend!!
