I have lived in Ilford for over thirty years and been driving since January 1999. For the first fifteen plus years my husband used to take his car to various different car garages all over Ilford be it a problem with the car, need mot or a service. He always used to come back pretty unhappy as the garages had not done the job properly or they ripped him off with extortionate prices. This happened for many years until after year 2000, he came across CMS Green Lane where a gentleman by the name of Mick did a service on my husband's car. My husband came back with high praises for Mick and this garage and went to CMS for all his car needs and was very assured that he would get excellent customer and service also the prices were very fair. One time he went to CMS for something rattling in the car and he came back over the moon saying that there was a pebble in the tyre and CMS have taken it out and didn't charge him, where had it been any other garage they would have charged a fortune and come up with imaginary faults with the car to bump up the price. My husband took care of all our car needs until one day asked me to take the car for service. As a female in a male dominated environment I had no idea about cars apart from how to drive from A to B, I was very hesitant. He said I have great confidence in CMS and you will be fine. I bought the car in and was greeted by a lovely lady by the name of Jane who booked my car in and the service was done. All that said I have now ended up bring all my families cars (4) in total to this garage for many years now for everything big or small and I have had fantastic service from all the staff, great communication, they ring up before fixing car with faults, prices, and all their valuable decisions and information on the best way to deal with the situation. I feel that without another female (Jane)at the garage I would not have been comfortable to come to a male dominated environment. Jane always goes the extra mile, ie will always chase suppliers for parts so that the cars are ready on schedule as discussed or will go out of her way to offer to drop me home if the weather is dreadful. I cannot thank Jane and her team enough for all the help honesty and expertise I've had for nearly twenty years with all our cars paid or unpaid and have recommended CMS and will carry on doing so all our family, friends and work colleagues of your brilliant friendly service. Once again well done everyone and mostly to you Jane for making CMS a brilliant garage with exemplary service to come to. Thank you.

Took my car there for MOT and made them aware of a sound i been experiencing on my BMW 3 series. My MOT came back a pass and i asked about the sound and they had nothing to say to me about it. Was put on the ramp just before i left the centre and was told my exhaust is broken and would need a WHOLE exhaust replacement. That did shock me when i heard that. Anyways, left the centre as they was closing and was told to book in for 7:30am the following working day. Was told someone would be there as they they dont usually open till later. Got there at 7:30 and nobody was to be seen or no one in to pick up the phone. Please do NOT give your customers an appointment which you cannot attend to. Waste of time and journey. Returned about an hour later and told was going to get a phonecall with a quote and what work needs carrying out. Really long winded process!! Left centre again and got a call to tell me the DPF would need changing which costs approx £1,300 for the part!!!! And That sounded extremely wrong and false to me. I mean i know how much a DPF does cost but i just knew that couldnt have been the problem. I had to pay them £50 for a look at the car and to tell me a price. That shouldnt have been the case if the job was done properly and advised me straight away during MOT like a good garage would have. Not forgetting the run around i got!! Took my car straight out of there and took it to my bmw specialist. He looked at it and told me straight away theres no way i would need a new DFP and he would just order in a flexi pipe which is what was broken and weld that in. Which he quoted me £400 including labour. What an escape!! Its a shame because they was local to me and read good reviews. Also, the people seemed really nice (1 star for that), just a big shame about the service i recieved and money i wasted!!

I have given my Vauxhall VAN with all the parts for Full service. They asked for £80 , I said ok , after 40 minutes they called and told me that, they having trouble to open the oil tank and it’s going to take more time and asked for another £50 more , I said ok that’s fine . When they gave me the van, I started the engine and showed CHECK ANTI-POLLUTION SYSTEM on my dashboard, I went back and asked why this light showing as there was no lights before I gave you, the girl on the reception told me there is nothing to do with us or not related with Services, just put Add blue and the light will disappear. I inserted add blue and disel injector but still light was on, I took it back after 2 days they said again it’s not their issue. I asked for MOT test and they said it’s £49 ( most places are £35-£40) They asked £60 for check…! I left there and took it for MOT and fail of that reason. I took the van to another garage and they found they did not plug in the filter pipe and it caused the issues and cost me another £30 for check and fix ( half then CMS). They put the plug in and problem solved . CMS only know money….! Greedy rubbish company. Robber ….! So , this CMS are terrible customer care plan …! Never go there Wasted my 2 days going there and paid double the money….! Useless …! I wish to give them minus star ⭐️ if there are any options

I have used this garage a few times for mot and service which has been fine. However, I had a problem with my car on Thursday 14 July, started it up, a big bang, then cut out. The AA towed it to the garage for me. Heard nothing, called friday PM, still looking at it. Called Monday, still looking at it. Son in law went to garage at approx 3PM, all locked up. It was the hottest day of the year. Received a call Tuesday, manifold needs replacing, but timing and compression tests ok, but they can't fix it, so find a garage that can! Can I move it tomorrow, so kept it 4 days, but I am expected to pick it up the next day. I then find out that my car is not even on the premises, its parked across the road on a public highway, and has been there at least since Monday. That's just appalling, no care for other people's property. I am not happy at all, will never use this garage again, and I know of several others that wont either. A garage whose business to fix cars, can't and don't care. DO NOT USE if you value your car. I paid 65 to have diagnostic tests. I see another review from 4 years ago, saying parked across the road, and they was called a liar, obviously they were not!

Unfortunately, it seems like this MOT centre is under new management and it's absolutely horrible. MOT now costs £50 and if it fails apparently you have one day to carry out the repairs for a free retest. One day late and it costs £10 for the re-test! This is ridiculous you used to have 10 days for a free retest. This is obviously an initiative to railroad customers into getting the repairs done on site. My suggestion is to take your custom somewhere else, as I will be doing. My MOT failed due to drive shaft needed replacing. They quoted £120 for one side. When I enquired with CMS to see if they could match my regular garages price of £100 each side they agreed. However, these cowboys told me the CV boot was stuck and they couldn't get it off. I took the car back to my regular place and they had no issues!!!! Additionally, as some reviews have mentioned they park your car across the road! The woman handed me my keys and failed certificate and left the office. I was looking around for my car for at least 10minutes. Until, I asked a guy in the workshop and he pointed to across the road. Stay away you have been warned.

Edit 2020 Had another MOT done, which I wasn't entirely happy with, they are polite as usual, but on my MOT he put: Advisories Items removed from windscreen before MOT began. (Which was my hanging air freshener) Power steering reservoir slightly low ( level was in-between minimum and maximum) Anti roll link cover detoriated needs replacing.(Upon replacing the part, the cover had just popped off and can easily been put back on, it definitely was not detoriated at all) I've added a photo so you can judge yourself. This has left me with lack of trust with this MOT station. I hope they rectify these issues from happening to others. Another star taken off to 1 stars now. Had a mot carried out today, they was promt and on time , mot is priced at £40 slightly above average for the area as most charge £30-35 , my Mot failed on a broken coil spring and the priced they quoted was more than expected for parts and labour in my opinion, but no pressure from staff to have this done in the garage, but prices for repairs or servicing could be more competitive, this is the only reason I've taken two stars off.

I’d never trust this garage.....liars. My cars EML light came on, they charged me an extortionate ;£300.00 saying they changed two O2 sensors in my car, The EML light came back on after 3 months, took it back to them ! They kept the car for three days and the told me it’s done! After a week the light comes back on! I took it to a reputable mechanic and he showed me that the old sensors are still inside. He said it’s something got to do with the AC system. He showed me the trick to turn the light off!! So CMS garage in all fairness can you reimburse me the £300.00 and get my car seen to by someone who knows what they doing!! You very well know my car. You have my contact details!! Secondly in the major service, the handbrake was not adjusted, nor were new front brake pads changed. I told them the key sensor to be looked at, that wasn’t done, stating it was a mail dealer job? On what basis did you charge me £615.00 when the spark plugs were not also changed? NEVER AGAIN WILL YOU TOUCH MY CAR!!!

I’ve been bringing my car here for 3 years and had really good service. Today I paid for a full service but I’m really unhappy. I was told a full check was done on my car but the paperwork shows hardly anything was checked. I told the garage about some specific things that needed looking at but I got no feedback on them. It was all wishy washy to say the least! On the phone I was told about a couple of things that needed looking at but a few minutes later someone different called and said my car is all fine. I’ve lost trust in CMS and now don’t feel confident that I know what is wrong with the car. Even when I went to collect my car I was told something totally different to when I dropped it off. Also they always park cars across the road-are they even insured there? What if someone scratches my car? The service is just not there and there is real lack of efficiency. I feel really let down and will never take my car to CMS again.

Took my Ford Focus for MOT and car won’t start as the Fuel tank pump was faulty I was told by garage it will cost me £250 plus as it takes lot of time to remove the fuel tank bla bla ! Which I paid without any hassle for the work to be done professionally Few days ago I had problem with petrol leakage in the fuel tank I called RAC and they confirmed that garage cut the floor and change the pump but while charging l the pump they snapped the one of the four brackets . Garage should had told us they gonna do it easiest way to cut the floor but not doing the job properly I was very annoyed when I made complaint to the guy at the front desk he won’t listen anything . I have been using this garage for MOT for years but now I got no faith in them they are cowboys ruining your car and then not accepting the responsibility. Very Rude arrogant

I gave my car for the service and when I picked the car on the dash board it’s showing engine fault . When I asked the guy at the counter he says it was already there and he cannot help it . I was driving this vehicle for almost 2 years and I never seen such a message and this guy was complaining about citron cars has too many problems. This is the first time I got my service done by non dealers and I had it . Now I have to take my car back to Citroen. As usual I should have done my services with Citroen itself . This is what happen when we do service with these kind of garages where people doesn’t know how to handle these kind of vehicle and simply blame on the models of the cars . Totally time and money wasted . Never use this place again .

Had my car towed to this garage after reading the many good reviews and I was NOT disappointed! I originally thought I had a major issue with my clutch, which would've cost a considerable amount for a replacement. After having it checked over, I was told the drive shaft had snapped and there was nothing wrong with the clutch so I wouldn't have to fork out a fortune. Having dropped the car off mid-afternoon, I was expecting the job to take at least a day or two to finish but then I got a call within a few hours to let me know that the car was ready! I like the fact that there were a number of younger workers being guided and learning the trade. Honest, friendly, quick and reliable service - would definitely come back. Good job guys!

Absolute crooks and robbers. My dad went here as his clutch was on its way out. They apparently replaced it, behold a day later the clutch is gone again. Rang them up as the clutch was under warranty which he was told before he left after the work was done. They said "bring the reciept" and "aslong as we got that they'll re-do it" so he goes back with the reciept. Calls back a few hours later to chase up the car and the cheeky **** says "we didn't check the piece of paper you gave us (the reciept) and we can't find it, it's been misplaced" so we can't confirm if the work was done here and we cant carry out the work. Unbelievable he was there just the day before. My father is 75 and they knew they was taking advantage of him.

Being new to the area and not sure which of the many Garages to take my car to, I took a chance when I suddenly had a fault with my car. I was surprised by their friendly customer service especially by Jane the receptionist. They resolved the fault on the day at a reasonable price and when I reported another fault the following week, they spent two days trying to work out why it was occurring and finally worked out that it was caused by one of the tyres I had replaced recently and not the car. Surprisingly they did not charge me for the fault finding which I found unbelievable as I know many garages that will charge. Thank you Jane, Manny and the rest of the team at CMS. I now know where to take my car in the future.

Rubbish, avoid at all costs. Parts don't turn up, they don't inform you and say come back in a couple of hours. Twice the same day. They had 5 days to get the part..... Edited due to owners reply. I brought the vehicle in at 11 and was told it would be finished at 1pm. Went back to collect it and was told part hadnt arrived but would be arriving in 10 mins. Went away again for 2 hrs , came back, still no part. My vehicle had been removed from the garage and was parked out on the road. I'd had enough and got the keys and left. Told the receptionist that despite knowing I could get the part for half the price I had decided to go with your garage. FACT

AVOID THIS GARAGE!! Incorrectly diagnosed my vehicle and charged me over £400 for the repair. I went back and they stated it was a step by step diagnostic and now needed to fix another part. Refused to refund me or replace the drive shaft they removed for a new one. I then took my vehicle to BMW who repaired my vehicle correctly and stated there was nothing wrong with the driveshaft they had replaced. BMW stated there is no such thing as step by Step diagnostic to fix an issue with a vehicle. I contacted my credit card company and after 6 months, I was finally Refunded by my credit card company.

I did MOT. Charged me £50. Most garages are cheaper than that. They said I failed my MOT because my rear brake pads were worn. I told him they are fine because there was no indicator light on the dash board. He said the MOT will fail. I didn't believe my MOT will fail. Charged me £140 to supply and fix brake pads on an A-Class. Didn’t show me any proof or paper work my car had been sorted when I went to pick up. They just pretend to tell you your car needs this and that but in reality it does not need anything. Go to honest garages.

Iv been going to this place for 3 years. Today wasn't a good experience. I wanted an MOT, and I also tend to have a basic service done at the same time. The lady in the front desk quoted £150 for the service. I explained I wanted an interim/ basic service which is usually about £60-£80, but she kept trying to sell me the Full Service for £150. I gave up and only had MOT done. I had Interim/ basic service done at Kwik Fit for £80. I thought it was pathetic & desperate attempt to generate revenue.

Highly recommend CMS Ilford....very professional, on time, value for money and very honest work undertaken on my car. I recently serviced my car at CMS. They picked up the car from work, serviced the car and returned it the same day within a few hours. Servicing undertaken was professional, and they even returned the car fully valeted and washed. Not knowing where to go for any car trouble was always a problem and I wasn't sure who I could trust. Having used this place 2-3x now they have been excellent both with the customer service and also the fact theyve always fixed any trouble I've had with my car. Most recently I felt there was a problem and I went in without an appointment and cost free they confirmed everything was fine. Definitely would recommend this place to anyone!

These JOKERS didn't ring me like they said they would and failed to give a rough idea of cost before carrying out work without my knowledge, then charged an astronomical price for the work. Didn't give me an opportunity to decline or accept repair. After much frustrating 'back and forth', they agreed to reduce price. And guess what? These CLOWNS didn't even completely fix the problem! There is still a fault. Absolute amateurs.

Failed my MOT and tried to quote me 240£ to repair it, when my local mechanic looked at it costed me 10£ to fix. Beware of them failing your MOT then charging ridiculous prices to repair the fault . Wasted a whole day driving round trying to sort out my car for no reason, .plus they charge 50£ for MOT when most charge 35-40 so that’s overpriced.

Quick and efficient service and MOT with clear communication and contacts with update. Also helped sort out accelerator issue that was causing engine light to come on and got a quick diagnostic done after request. Unfortunately the engine light and esp still coming up so issue hasn’t been fixed so unable to give higher review.

Very efficient. Car had a flat battery and they put in a new one and had my car ready for pick-up within 2 hours. They even replaced one of my brake light bulbs that wasn't working - free of charge. Top geezers. Will be getting my car MoT from here in the near future.

Despite being a loyal customer for a number of years, the recent service received was awful. The staff seemed arrogant and unhelpful. I was quoted £510 for a repair which I managed to get done for £90 elsewhere, I’m shocked by the attempt to rip me off.

Really good customer service. Only downside was that some white spray grease was (accidentally) sprayed on my bodywork and windscreen. Not worried about the bodywork, but I drove away with a grease smeared windscreen as it was then on the wiper blades.
