Cute, little coffee shop! Everyone was so nice and friendly. I got an iced chai and it was perfect from taste to temperature, especially on a hot day! I got the French toast as recommended and it was so delicious! Perfectly sweet and paired great with my iced chai. The serving was so large I couldn't finish it. I regret not taking the leftovers home. Will definitely be back to try other dishes The space inside is kind of small. A lot.of two tops, a five-ish top, and a six seat high top. There's also seating outside in the back and front of the shop. Because of the heat we wanted to eat inside and had to wait a bit before a table big enough was available.

This place was UHHMAZIN!! I'm a 7/11 coffee girl, so this was very different for me. They had a lot of different coffee options to choose from. I decided to go with the French press with almond milk and white mocha macadamia flavor. It was pretty good. Not sweet at all. I added a couple packets of sugar in the raw. The avocado toast with egg white was amazing. The toast was crunchy and the avocado was super fresh. We visited on a Saturday and the parking was pretty packed. We had to park on the street in front of the restaurant. The barista at the counter was super helpful in helping me decide what to get. My boyfriend had the chai tea latte and personally it was way better than my coffee. I highly recommend this place and will definitely come back to try other menu options.

This place lives up to the hype! It’s in a charming old house, with a tonnnn of tables and chairs to post up in the front and back, as well as inside. They have a ton of coffee options and pastries, in addition full on breakfast food available to order. I got their almond croissant and was very, very happy. The staff is quick with your order, super friendly, and they do a good job of keeping the place nice and tidy despite people coming and going at all times. This coffeehouse would be a great spot to work on your laptop or read book. They have a chicken coop in the back and a full parking lot. Highly recommend!

Cute coffee shop! First of all, I love the playlist. Makes the vibe super hipster and comfy. I really love the attention to detail for the interior design. From the teal tiles on the ceiling, the the cool pattern tiles on the walls. I feel like I would love to decorate my house just like this coffee shop! The matcha latte is top notch. Definitely one of the best ones I’ve had. We tried their lunch and really enjoyed it as well. I do thing the bread on the sandwiches are a little too toasted. They hurt the roof of my mouth to bite. I also wish the tomato soup was a lot warmer. One thing that stands out to me most is the smell.. and not in a good way. It almost smells like mothballs or urine. I think it would really benefit this place to light some candles or have some plug ins. The smell, to me, is a major turn off upon entering. Other than that, I loved my visit here. The staff are kind, quick and it’s a great hang out spot to work for the day.

This place is nice. I've never been here before. it's very quaint and cozy The location is a little weird if you don't know there's parking behind the house. You'll think you have to park on the street. love that they have a chicken coop and beautiful chickens back there. I recommend checking it out it's worth it.

Only if you don't know that there's parking behind the house. It's an old renovated house. You will think you have to park on the street and that can be tricky.

Delicious Lattes and The Prettiest Breakfast Tacos! Commonwealth Coffee is a small local chain, unique to San Antonio that is often involved in philanthropic projects: Their signature lattes are creative, tasty, and beautiful, served in large cups. The breakfast tacos are served on beautiful china; and the Davis St location is an old home: Cozy, comfortable, and inviting. Their pastries were created by a real life French Pastry Chef; and they have a full lunch menu after 11 am. This location is a bit hidden, but across from UIW Campus. I've been visiting here since 2018, and absolutely love it every time. ♥️

Front and back patios create most of the nice atmosphere, inside is small and quaint. You order at the counter and they bring it to your table, there was about eight people in front of us so we didn't anticipate an hour wait for our food. Yikes . The food was very good, in spite of all the flies.

Fell upon this little gem by accident. Had family in town and they wanted to find an outdoor breakfast place. Not only did Commonwealth have quality ingredients but beautiful plating, beautiful plates, beautiful decor. Fine dining quality food with very reasonable pricing. Can't wait to return and try something new!

Such, a quaint and cozy feeling. Definitely good to work and study. The atmosphere is awesome, very unique. I love the little patio areas in the front and back of the building. The environment wouldn't appeal to children. It would definitely be a solo trip type of thing. Very good to meet, for meet ups, and day time catching up with friends or a date.

I have been stationed here for about 2 months now and have eaten at dozens of self proclaimed "coffee houses" or "cafes". I'm from Washington state where we LOVE our coffee. There's a stand or coffee shop on just about every street corner, and no one can agree who has the best coffee in town. That being said, this is the first coffee place I have visited since moving to Texas that has Pacific Northwest quality coffee. 11/10, highly highly recommend. Oh, and I mustn't forget about the bakery / deli items. The avocado toast (I added egg and smoked salmon) was delicious and the bechamel, well I think the picture speaks for itself but it was delightful as well!

It’s a little overpriced. It seems that you’re paying for the equipment and the aesthetics. The food was good, but I wouldn’t say delectable. Though, it was very PRETTY. This is perfect for those people who like to take pictures of their food, otherwise I think I’d just make it at home. The music, decor and lighting is attractive and calming. This would be a good place for a coffee date, or maybe a good place to relax and work on a computer.

A decent cup of coffee and an upscale atmosphere that feels approachable and won't break your bank. The pastries are to die for and the breakfast menu is well designed. They have a dogy park in the backyard and lots of table space for people to get work done, read a book, or just visit with friends. The staff is real friendly and they will bring your orders with a smile. The place is on the small size for my taste given the numerous tables. Try the latte is a safe choice

We sat down around 9am and it was not busy which was nice. Beautiful interior and exterior seating areas. There were many dogs there that were friendly and not barking. For the food, today the quiche was a bit overcooked but flavor was there. The tacos and crepe were good. But the best was the Danish and bread. Must try the baked goods. That's where it's at! I enjoyed the people that worked there also. Genuinely friendly was the vibe. Thanks again for a great experience all around and I will be back with more friends next time ;) 5 starts for sure.

I had an amazing experience at this cafe! The food was absolutely delicious, with such a chill vibe. As a coffee lover, I’m thrilled with the unique coffee options they offered (honey lavender iced latte was my favorite one). It's the perfect spot to have a meeting, enjoy with friends, or just go on your own. Highly recommended! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The food was amazing, we got a croissant sandwich and omelette. I also got a cortado to drink, and everything was good. My wife and I were wondering how were they making the eggs taste so good. When we stepped out we saw they had chickens in the back! Talk about fresh eggs

Made it my mission to explore local coffee shops/cafes during my three-month stay in San Antonio. Commonwealth is by far my favorite shop to sit in at. Their food is excellent and their coffee is very tasty. The overall environment is clean, modern, and comfortable! The shop obviously gets crowded during late-morning weekend brunch hours, so get there early for a great seat. :)

Have you ever been to a cafe with chicken coop outside? Well, CommonWealth is that place! Seeing the staff eating the food that they prepare in the kitchen themselves was so reassuring that they serve high quality food. With lots of free parking, clean washrooms, and beautiful atmosphere, CommonWealth is one of the best cafes I ever been to in Texas.

What a gorgeously decorated Cafe. Just beautiful backyard and front as well. The inside is clean and the staff were nice as well. We ordered coffee, cinnamon roll, and sweet croissant, and a ham and cheese sandwich served on a croissant right before they stopped serving food. It hit the spot for our lunch break. So glad we got to visit. Would definitely come back on a nice day and try to sit out front by the water fountain.

I looked up “best coffee shops to study at near me” and this was the spot! Delicious coffee and tasty pastries. The staff was really nice. The overall atmosphere of the space was laid back with some relaxing indie music in the background. I’ll definitely be going again!

We loved this quaint café with a French flair. The Croque Madame sandwich was superb with thick layers of cheese and ham. We split it and were comfortably satisfied. Everything looked tasty. The latte was generous and hot. Nice patio seating and lots of off street parking. This is a perfect stop before or after a visit to the McNay Museum.

Nice place when the business is open, but when they move out, this is what they leave behind (Evergreen Location). They discontinued trash service, yet still have workers go in and empty the place out without hauling trash away. Thanks for dumping on the neighborhood that supported you for the time you were here . . . . smh

DELISH. Cutest coffee shop I’ve ever been to. Food was good too! I got an omelette and tried the chocolate croissant. Cute tableware, nice workers, even fresh flowers on the tables. Offers alcohol too! TRY THE SPICED CARAMEL WHITE CHOCOLATE MOCHA LATTE!

Fun house turned into coffee shop. French Press was a disaster - so weak it tasted like tea. Drip coffee was better. French omelette with bacon was too salty. Nutella crepe was fantastic. It can get crowded but there’s more seating than it appears. Recommend but with a few caveats and not sure if I’ll be back.

  • Rosemary Pagan

Coffee is good. Had the croissant with egg cheese and ham, good, not great. Service was 3.5. The guy felt the need to correct the way I said cafe au lait. Whatever‍♀️. Cute place though.

It’s an amazing cozy place, located in middle of Alamo heights. The place has two terraces, one on the front and the other on the back. They offer great bakery options try the croissants the one with almond it’s great. We order the avocado toast try it.

  • Elizabeth R Reyes (nobacardi4Lizzz)

Such a cute spot. It was the chicken coupe for me. I had the Dill Chicken Salad Croissant and it was so good. The croissant was soft and the chicken salad had cranberries in it. So good. I wanted a smoothie but they were out. Next time though. More

I spent $17 dollars on a breakfast croissant and a hot chocolate. It looks nice and the food tasted pretty good, but it wasn't different from a breakfast I could of made at home. The staff was nice though. They made sure we had what we needed. More

The inside is small but they do provide an outside dining that is rooming and welcoming. But, summertime in S.A. is too hot to be outside. Maybe an enclosure that can be removed for those cooler days would be helpful. Nice place to gather

CommonWealth Coffeehouse has changed quite a bit since I was there last. Now serving alcohol and more meal-like dishes. The interior is a little cramped so if you like some room I would recommend sitting outside. But overall the pastries

Such a wonderful coffee shop. It has plenty of sitting room and a very relaxed vibe. I love that they had great tasting coffee along with a tasty assortment of draft beers. I would say my favorite Coffee house in all of San Antonio.
