Horrible Experience I came all the way down from Rolling Meadows and went there to celebrate my cousin's birthday, who lives near this place. We spent well over $150 on lunch plus tip. The food was not what I remember it was subpar. Plus, I accidentally left a pair of expensive glasses on the table on the way out. In the 2 minutes it took to walk to my car and come back the table. It was being cleaned, and my expensive sunglasses had disappeared mysteriously. The servers were still there cleaning the table, so I inquired with them if they had seen the glasses they proceeded to pretend like they didn't speak any English acted like they knew nothing. Fortunately, I know Spanish, so I asked to see the manager Edgar, who didn't seem to care much either and treated me as if i was lying. He even asked me if maybe I left them in the car and didn't know it I told him no cuz as I was getting in my car I realized I didn't have them because it was so sunny outside that's when I ran back in here to search exactly where I left them on the table. I also explained that took me all of 2 minutes to walk from my car back to the table because I was parked right outside the front door so there wasn't enough time or people in The Establishment for anyone else to have taken my glasses. The only other family that was near us was the black family they tried to blame. But I ran outside and caught them. But they were holding women's sunglasses that were not blue, like I explained. I thought that was rather low life for them to blame another family. I even asked Mr. Vincent, maybe if I step outside and double-check my car, then possibly my glasses would mysteriously turn up, giving them an option to return them without admitting they had taken them. Instead, Mr Edgar followed me outside which told me he did not talk to his employees or double check with them as to whether or not maybe they had accidentally found them on the floor or something like that. It's been over a week since, & I still haven't heard from Connie's or this manager concerning my very expensive sunglasses. I do not recommend going here for any reason whatsoever as the STAFF & MANAGER are UNTRUSTWORTHY.

Update: 3/12/23 There is a $20 fee for any dessert that you bring in yourself. For example if you are celebrating an event and decide to bring in cake or cookies or cupcake... you have to pay $20 to celebrate using your own dessert. This is the first time I've seen this policy anywhere. I don't like it. They have also started charging $3.50 for hot bread. Used to be free. I didn't take out any stars because their food, service and atmosphere is that good, but the management should understand that this type of nitpicking does not make them look good. ---- I have been coming to this Connie's for many years. It's right by Chinatown. I definitely believe this is the best location for Connie's in the Chicago area. Today I tried something that a friend of mine introduced me to that I did not even know existed in the menu. Stuffed pizza with sauce on the side - pictures attached. Basically you have a top crust with the tomato sauce on the side. Eating this pizza feels like eating a Calzone and Deep Dish pizza combined. On the positive side, it is a crispy pizza. On the flip side, it is a bit dry because there is no tomato sauce inside. Not something I liked and I will probably stick with the deep dish and thin crust next time but you might have a different experience so worth a shot one time at least. Now regarding the atmosphere inside, it's very bright and lovely. Beautiful decor that really opens your eyes and lifts your spirits as you walk in and see people having a great time having a meal and talking with their friends and family. The service at this place is also wonderful and you feel like you are being served by family and friends and not just work people. My vote for this place has always been and continues to be a big Yes. Definitely worth a visit!

This Sunday I went to dinner at Connie's with my family. It's not the first time we've gone, but it's the first time I've ordered by myself, and I didn't remember how it worked. So I asked the waitress for a recommendation, Stephanie, she's dark and obese, (I'm describing her like this just in case there's someone else with the same name that you can distinguish who it was). It turns out that I better not have asked her anything, she treated us very badly, rude, despot, how with annoyance for having to attend to us. He literally couldn't give me a recommendation. And more than once he told me that with certain ingredients the pizza would be very expensive. HAHAHA, Nobody asked her the price of anything, which made us think that he treated us like this because of a racial problem. It is unfortunate because it left us with a horrible taste in our mouths that the food tasted bad for us due to the bad treatment. After never turning around to see if we needed anything, we had to ask another waiter for a Pepsi, and he told us that his partner had already left but that he would serve us. We better ask for the bill, we usually consume more but this time the waiters seem to be focused on running you out of the place. Approximately $135 total, we paid cash with $200, and the guy still asks us if we want the change... Of course, $75 tip to come and put up with rudeness from a waitress??! No, thanks. Even so, we left 30, we did not want to affect all the other workers in case they distribute the tip. We finally got out, and outside was Stephanie with another employee talking. Wasn't he already gone? Hopefully they can train their servers, or get someone who knows customer service. Because this place was really one of our favorites to eat with the family :(

My boyfriend grew up coming here so he is always suggesting to go here I’m guessing for nostalgic reasons. Complaint #1-When I first came with him the bread was included and it is delicious, but now you have to order it off the menu and pay for it like an ordered item. Complaint #2 the bathroom NEVER has the paper towels in the dispenser, you have to roll it in your fingers and it’s already all wet from other people doing that. So unhygienic; they have dispensers but don’t bother to put them in there? #3 the pizza was so over cooked there was no tomato sauce left, the pepperoni was black, and it was very salty tasting—it was basically cheese bread so I had to ask for extra tomato sauce on the side to dip my “cheese bread”in there. #4 they don’t split checks, which is SO inconvenient because every time we go it’s always a large group of 3 different families. There are so many big party tables I see there and I’m sure it’s annoying to everyone else too, to end your meal laboring over adding up things on one long receipt. The waitress ended up charging us for the other family’s meal (which was $30 over) because she had to remember who’s was what on what card, since she couldn’t split it. I mean the technology to split checks has been there for years, so why not provide this for your customers? #5 finally they are short staffed, I’m assuming because the servers take forever, but they are very nice so I think they may be doing the best they can?

We came for dinner and ordered the deep dish personal pizza with extra vegetables, a 10" thin crust pizza with extra vegetables, garlic parmesan fries and hot bread. The only thing priced appropriately and not full of oil was the hot bread. It is ridiculous that we are being charged the same price for vegetables as others are being charged for meat. Additionally, while deep dish does take its time (~45 minutes), we were only told that after we put in the order, making us order a few appetizers (fries and hot bread) while we waited for the food. Though a common occurrence with deep dish pizza is waiting for the pizza to be made, reminding us about the wait would have been helpful so we could be more intentional about ordering food. Additionally, everything was swimming in oil - the garlic parmesan fries, the deep dish pizza and the thin crust pizza. For us to be charged $70+ for ordering the smallest things on the menu was just confirmation that we will not be returning here; there are much better tasting and better priced pizzas (that don't give you a stomache) in and around Chicago.

Our hostess was awesome, but at the end of our dinner another lady came over and asked if everything was okay, and then basically told me and my family that we had a two hour limit to eat and after that we had to leave. So she came over to see what was taking so long. We had only been sitting down for an hour and 15 mins before we got our check. Our hostess came back and I told her what just happened and she was shocked and asked who it was, and we found it was one of the supervisors at the restaurant. I thought that was very rude and unprofessional for a supervisor to come up and basically kicking a family out after bringing service to this business. Our hostess said she probably thought we were part or the big party group that’s why and didn’t know, but even so that was very unprofessional for anybody to do. What the supervisor did ruined the service and atmosphere of a great experience I was having with the nice hostess we had.

The food is amazing the atmosphere of the restaurant is pleasing and the staff is very kind and helpful. I really wish I can give this a 4 stars review but the manager at the establishment ruined our evening and he was very rude and unwelcoming. We had a dinner there recently and the manager came to kick us out in a hurry (we understand they have other customers but he didn’t bother telling us in advance that there was a reservation in our table that same evening) and not only that but all the big tables in our area were open so I don’t really understand why they had to kick us out in such a rush. Needless to say our waiter was super kind and welcoming, the manager was the complete opposite of that.

Food was great, service was a bit dry, but what got me was when we walked in we were told no outside drinks, my brother happened to have a Starbucks cup, so we put it in the car being respectful as asked. When we were getting ready to leave I see a woman with 3 kids walk in with a bottled water and a Starbucks cup. As a gm at a restaurant that was 100 percent In bad taste. If you are going to ask for something be consistent.

Very disappointed with our experience. We visited the Bridgeport location and used to be local. Past experiences were good, but this time was not the best our bill was $85 and very dissatisfied with the stuffed jalapenos. For $20 would expect a much bigger portion. Mashed potatoes were clumpy and not well mashed. Other pasta dishes were good. We spoke to the manager regarding our food plus service and he did not do anything to make us happy. Let with disappointment . Will not be going back. Kids cheeseburger very overpriced at $11.99.

We dined in with 8 kids and they were all able to enjoy something that they loved. The pizza was amazing, we ordered a deep dish with sausage which was more like a pan pizza, I loved it. My son is allergic to eggs and milk and I asked the server to confirm with the kitchen whether the kids grilled chicken and fries were safe, when he came back with the food he let us know that the seasoning on the fries was not safe and gave us the options of carrots. It is so scary to dine out with a kid with allergies, I would definitely bring my family again and again knowing that the staff is knowledgable and care about allergies.

Connie's has been a birthday tradition for my entire family for as long as I can remember. From kids to adult birthday parties, and even a wedding reception, the space has been so accommodating. It has such a historical feel and the food is always so good. If you have had the frozen pizza only, make sure you come and try it at the restaurant. It's so much better!

Had a wonderful meal! We enjoyed the Cheesy Garlic Bread as an appetizer. Then for entrees got the Pepperoni Pan Deep Dish and Shrimp Diavlo. Dessert was the Tiramisu. We even lucked into Happy Hour(Mon-Thurs 3-6pm), so i got a $5 glass of Prosecco. The Wednesday HH special is $5 glasses and half off bottles. Yum! We enjoyed it all! Pizza was not worth the cost. They charge the same amount of money for veggie toppings as they do for meat toppings! Who charges $2+ for a veggie topping!? That's a rip off. We know bell peppers don't cost as much as sausage. Plus the garlic Parmesan fries were just dripping in oil, not desirable. The restaurant is pretty and the staff is really nice, but the prices are not worth the taste.

This is the second time I took the Orange train from Downtown Chicago to Halstead to get to Connie's Pizza. From Halstead we walked around 5 blocks and felt safe getting there. We got the pan fry pizza and it was good; however I will try something else next time....may just their deep dish? They had so many beautiful flowers all around the outside and a beautiful patio. The interior has so much ambience. I suggest everyone looking for good pizza try Connie's ❤️....

I have been coming here for many years (20 years) and the food is a 10/10. The ambiance is beautiful for Christmas and the patio is great in the summer. However, the service is not good anymore. My waiter did not check on us much and the manager was rude to my mother for asking a simple question. I say, come to enjoy food but do not have high expectations for service.

Everything was delicious! We love coming here just to look at all the cool stuff in the building! The stuffed pizza was perfect, we got meatballs, pepperoni, green peppers and onions this time! The cheese sticks could have been cooked just a few seconds less as the cheese was almost coming out but they were still good! The antipasto salad was delicious as well! The waiter was very friendly and let us know about their rewards program which will help get us to drive back out there more often!

We dined with a large school group and the service was great. We arrived and we were seated in minutes. Pizza was quickly served piping hot by friendly staff. Connie's is a nice place. I've enjoyed many dinner parties there over a few decades. I admit I haven't been there in a few years, and I haven't tried many menu items. I was there a couple of weeks ago, and the pizza just didn't taste good. The quality of the ingredients was fine it's just that the pizza was 1 inch of dough. Now I know deep dish pizza, but this was just doughy pizza. Not what I think of as a deep dish pizza.

The pizza was good, but it wasn't what I was expecting when I ordered a deep dish. It didn't have the thick layer of toppings, sauce, and cheese. Again, it was good, but more like a regular pizza. The spinach and artichoke dip was solid. The atmosphere was really cool. We also really appreciated the shuttle to the game!

Pizza tasted great as always. It's been 3 or 4 months since our last visit. We ordered a large pan pizza and it was about half the thickness as it used to be. I've been eating those pizza since I was a kid. Did they change it up within the last few months. It was pretty much a thin crust pizza with a tall edge.

This building is actually super awesome!!! I love the way they have everything setup, it’s the first time I’ve seen a pizza joint with such a nice patio area, and then also great architectural details inside also. We ordered a small 7” pizza cos we just finished having hot pot- the pizza was flavorful, as well as the spinach and artichoke dip. The staff were also friendly and willing to help/answer any questions we had about their menu.

Visited Connie's while in town & wanted to try some authentic Chicago Depp dish pizza. The cheesy bread was OK, could have been a little more flavorful... the deep dish was worth it! I enjoyed it and it was more than enough for me. I was a little disappointed in the customer service -- I felt a bit forgotten as.I had to ask for service twice. Amazing place for deep dish pizza and antipasto salad also their garlic parmesan fries are incredible. I love the building. The space is large and has an interesting industrial look. Our waitress was great and took very good care of us while we ate and caught up with each other. The crust on our deep dish Chicago pizza was cooked perfectly, it was cheesy, and the sausage was not greasy. A great place for dinner.

Connie’s is a great place for pizza and pasta. The lasagna was excellent! The service was good. The building was a bit chilly, but well maintained and pleasant.

Their pizza taste good, but for the price they are really cheap with the amount of meat they give on the pizza.

Great service, even when busy. First time here, and it was a great choice for our family. Apps were good, kids menu was perfect, and our deep dish pizza was the reason we came. Overall great experience, would recommend to anyone who wants pizza in the windy City.

A traditional pizza place located in the south side of Chicago. In the neighborhood of Bridgeport pizza restaurants dot the landscape but few standout and Connie's does with great service atmosphere and food. It is more on the expensive side so be prepared More

This location has great tasting deep dish pizza. they put the sauce on the bottom not on top, the big Discovery is the great tasting though. It's fluffy, cooked to Perfection; you can eat it on its own and it's not bulky. Antique decoration

Connie's Pizza is the PREMIERE deep dish pizza in the world. They may not have invented it but without debate they have perfected the deep dish pizza. Connie's at 26th & Lowe ST has a wonderful atmosphere. A perfect place for a date or a

Found this gem on our way through Chicago. We have ALWAYS wanted to try a "Chicago" style pizza...they absolutely have you covered. Their pizzas won't disappoint, lots of flavor. I ordered their personal pizzella stuffed crust with

The pizza was outstanding. Service was great as well but I asked for the beer list and she pointed to the 3 on the menu. Found out later you had a couple more. Decorations were very nice and were huge plus. We'll be back.

I was there for a meeting. The atmosphere is always pleasant, food and service is always good. I really liked the Alfredo Pizza.(I think) I have acid reflux, so I was able to enjoy pizza without heartburn.

  • Boston M

Great atmosphere! We really enjoyed the Spinach Artichoke Dip to start followed by the Deep Dish pizza and finished with the authentic Cheesecake. Definitely worth trying if you're in the Windy City.

Connie's always hits! Regardless of what pizza or pasta or sammich you order it's gonna be ! Service is always exceptional and the atmosphere is very homey family like. Love Connie's!

  • Magali Ayala Ocon

To me the pizza was a bit salty. I would have to come again to give it another round for its money. The restaurant inside itself was really nice, lots of space and friendly waitresses.

  • Ali Qazi

Love the multi-layered pizza!! When someone described it to me I though it would be too much of cheese and nothing else. I was wrong. There was plenty of flavor. Love the food!

The pizza is on another level and so is the calamari and mozzarella sticks but the fries were ok the atmosphere was amazing it looks "old school" the outside is also nice. More

Connies makes good pizza. I particularly like the crust as it's not your typical pizza crust. The place has nice ambiance and polite, courteous staff. More

The staff and service was great, calamari tender, but the entrées taste frozen, pre-made, and not well seasoned.
