To Whom It May Concern, I have been patronizing the Home Run Inn Pizza brand since I was a kid and have never had the service and food quality I and my family was given on this evening of December 1, 2023. We arrived at your establishment at 3PM and did not leave until 4:45PM. We ordered drinks, appetizer traditional wings and two large pizzas. The bar tender had to be found in order for our drinks to be prepared and was therefore served after about 20 to 25 minutes of waiting. Wings which were requested to be fried extra crispy came out even later and was not prepared as requested. The pizzas took even longer and when it finally arrived, only one pizza (1/2 cheese and 1/2 turkey sausage) came out Luke warm because it had been sitting under a light waiting for the second pizza which had to be corrected. The second pizza was supposed to be a sausage and pepperoni, but the chef had prepared a sausage only pizza. To rectify this, instead of notifying us of what was going on, they decided to chop up pepperoni pieces and lay them on top of the pizza and re-warm it. When this pizza arrived with this makeshift topping added to it, we were insulted and asked the waitress to notify management of this. Long of the short, after much complaint after management felt that $5 off was compensation enough for our experience, they decided to remove the horrible pizza they had served us in full. This experience has tarnished me and I do not ever plan to patronize Home Run Inn again even in purchasing your frozen pizzas. I just believe you should be aware of the staff choices and management’s views on customer service at this location. Best,

My family and i,went to Home Run Inn 4254 W.31st . My husband always buy there frozen pizza's. It was his Birthday Celebration. Their were 9 of us in our party. The guy at front desk kept getting smart with me. Told me if someone else came in our party, after we were seated, they couldn't sit with us and he got the security guard to watch us. He told me we could only stay in the Restaurant for 2 1/2 hrs. They served my Grandson cold pizza and the the Birthday man's pizza didn't come until our waitress which was very good. That's why i gave them 4 stars, Got the Manager to check on the problem. By then everyone in my party was mad and ready to go. The Manager came over to our table and let us know the problem and said another pizza was coming up. So it did and he gave that one to us free. I had a cake which no one wanted to eat. So i took it back home. We will never go back there again. And it's the Original Pizza Place. The cheese and sausage pizza wasn't good. The Hamburger pizza tasted ok my other grandson had that one. The Restaurant itself looked very nice. Had a very bad experience there my husband's birthday party celebration was a nightmare.☹ Sorry everything is so close together, but i had a lot to say and didn't know if i would have enough room to put it all in there, but i did.

Came here today after moving to Arizona craving my favorite pizza spot & I’m honestly disappointed. At the time I didn’t realize our waiter or the cook made a mistake until I got home & began to feel nauseous & sick to my stomach. To start waiter was very short & not welcoming. I ignored it for the simple fact I just wanted what I’d been missing. We ordered 2 appetizers & 2 pizzas. One with sausage for our guests & one with beef & veggies for my family because we don’t eat pork. Our appetizers came out fast but pizza took forever. So by the time we got it we didn’t notice they put pork on our pizza instead of beef. Especially since there was so many vegetables that could mask the taste. This is extremely unacceptable for staff to make a mistake like this. You guys took away from what could’ve been a great dining experience for a lack of 1: enthusiasm from your staff & 2: quality assurance to make sure you’re not feeding someone something against their religion/will. Thanks, now me being heavily pregnant, my family & toddler are sick to our stomachs & might miss our flight home tomorrow because of this. Just terrible

As of Thursday 12/07/23 I'm done with Home Run Inn in Beverly, stopped in with my wife to receive here Birthday pizza & got screwed & the total runaround by the heavyset black male server with glasses. My wife showed the server her Birthday email & he said he needed a 4 digit code & it may be on her app. after trying to pull up the code from her email. Now what's crazy is we had a hard time trying to reset her password, when we checked her email again it said the code was already used. Mind you the server never received the code from us & if he did see the code apparently it was more important for him to use it for himself. If her needed that pizza that bad I hope he choked & have diarrhea behind it. It's very Bad & Sad you have to go out your community to get better & great service. But I truly think I'm over Home Run Inn for a while with there overpriced pizza. If we do return IT WILL NOT BE THAT LOCATION. They have lost a valued customer & advise anyone to try any location other that the Beverly Home Run Inn !!!!!!

Someone else wrote a review and said the frozen pizza may be better. They could possibly be right but I think their frozen pizza has fallen off hard core too. Visited this place last night 1-27-2023. Sat a booth immediately, placed an order for a large Turkey sausage with green peppers the pizza came out hot but the toppings were seriously lacking. You could barely see or taste any green peppers, the Turkey sausage was heavily processed and looked like premade processed balls of meat. We also ordered a Turkey pepperoni pizza with green peppers and it was also bland, again lack of topping and barely any green peppers. Between the 2 of us we spent a $110 on 2 pizzas and 3/4 drinks. I don’t know if it is just this location but their dough is thick and barely any crust, the pizza ends up being thick and not thin. I specifically asked for thinner pizza the second time around still no change. The service was good and drinks were really good. I doubt if I would ever return to this location. I wouldn’t recommend coming here. Go to the original or another location.

My cousin who lives here recommended that we go here instead of beggars, and it did not disappoint! I ordered 12" Chicago Best Pizza to share with my sister-in-law. My wife ordered a 12" Pizza Lite (and added cheese since it's "Almost Cheese-Less") to share with our cousin. I also ordered some BBQ wings for an appetizer. Everything was delicious. All of my food was delicious! My wife said her Pizza Lite was great, but it was a little "wet" because of all of the veggies that they loaded on it, so she would probably leave off the plum tomatoes in the future to make it less soggy. We also added garlic butter crusts to both pizzas, but honestly, it wasn't necessary since the there really isn't a crust on these pizzas to begin with, so save that $2.50. Our server, Amanda, was excellent as well. Super courteous. There was free parking available. The restaurant had great lighting inside. We will definitely be back on future visits to the Chi.

This was our first time eating in at Home run inn and it wasn’t worth the extra cost. Their pizza lacks flavor so I actually prefer having it at home from the freezer where I can add seasoning before baking. Staff was weak all around - like a lot of places these days, I guess. But they just didn’t appear attentive or competent. The restaurant was mostly empty but it took them 10 minutes to seat us. There was a large puddle of water on the floor that we told the two hostesses about and they didn’t seem to know what to do about. We had two small kids but they seated us at a table that couldn’t accommodate booster seats. Another family broke a glass and the bussers just kinda looked in that direction, unsure what to do. The manager stuck her head out of the kitchen on occasion and didn’t seem to provide a lot of direction. It was kinda a comedy of errors. I wish the neighborhood had an actual higher end pizza joint to please the kids and adults. Home run inn isn’t it.

I love Homerun inn frozen pizza, I've been waiting for months to go to the actual restaurant and I was extremely disappointed!!! I thought I was at chuck e cheeses. They only had 1 server working 3 different birthdays parties plus everyone else, so I don't hold anything against her. Our cheesy garlic bread took over an hour to come out, as an appetizer. It was cold and soggy, not toasted at all, we ate it cuz I had children with me who were starving by this point. When I finally got to talk to the manager 30 minutes later he said he couldn't do anything about it cuz it was against their policy, which was B.S. Their frozen pizzas taste way better! I never thought I would have such an awful first experience with a brand I use to love. I will NEVER come back to this location, I'm debating if I'll try another location or not. They also charge a service charge that's different than gratuity, pay attention to your bill!!! This location and management is ghetto!!!

We went for my daughters birthday. Its her favorite and I'm sure she is responsible for a chuck of their frozen pizza profits. The pizza was good and so were the appetizers. It's exactly what you expect of Home Run Inn pizza. The restaurant looks great, it's clean and the staff was nice. We dined in, but the inside setup for carry out is great. The parking lot can get crazy though because customers block cars in to run in for their orders. They do have a few spots designated for pickup orders but we still got blocked in because either people wanted to be near the door or those spots were full. We had a long wait time (about an hour) for seating even though the dining area was relatively empty but we did have a group of 9. They don't take reservations and perhaps that's something to consider for larger groups to reduce the wait time.

Pretty terrible experience. Brought my family to have dinner. Called in to ask about the wait time and was told we had to come in to find out. (despite being placed on hold while they checked on the wait time). While there was a 20 minute wait to be seated, there were at least 3 cleaned off tables during that time. We finally get seated at a dirty area with birthday cake and filth all over the floor, and the couple waiting after us got seated at the clean table that was collecting dust at this point. Meanwhile managers, servers, hosts and others were just standing around, talking and not even trying to turnover the tables. It wasn't even crowded. After being seated in a filthy area, we just decided to leave. This used to be my wife's favorite restaurant but this place must be under new management or something. We used to come here often. Can't see myself wasting my family's time again trying to come here. To say I'm very disappointed is an understatement.

I don't even know where to begin. The food was delectable and the staff was extraordinary. Nothing but great sweet caring workers who want you to have the best experience. Ordered the "Nicks Super" which was a supreme pizza along with Alfredo Chicken Pasta. The biggest 2 items that caught my attention the most were the boneless wings and their new "Golden Buffalo Sauce". The wings were fresh and tasted so delicious it melted so well in every bite. Highly recommend the Golden Buffalo sauce as it felt like a mix of buffalo and bbq with a hint of chipotle! Very cozy and welcoming restaurant. Definitely will be returning. 5 Stars!

Chicago's Home Run Inn Pizza is a hidden gem that offers a top-notch eating experience and the greatest flavors of traditional Chicago-style pizza. You know you're in for a treat as soon as you enter this well-known pizzeria. The welcoming aroma of freshly made pizza fills the air as soon as you enter the doors, instantly piqueing your hunger. You instantly feel at home thanks to the restaurant's welcoming atmosphere and helpful personnel. Let's now discuss the pizza, which is the main attraction. The pizza at Home Run Inn is a wonderful work of art, striking the ideal harmony between the crunchy crust, savory sauce, and copious toppings. Each mouthful is a delight, whether you choose the traditional cheese or one of their speciality pies.

My family and I decided lo come to what was my favorite pizzeria. I called to check the current wait time, was put on hold and told they couldn't tell me that. We arrive and are told 20 min was the wait. There were visible tables open. A large birthday party left and we were sat at a nasty table with lids and cake under it. Although there were staff members STANDING around, no one came to clean the tables around us from guests who have left. The newly renovated location was nasty and so were the attitudes of the staff. It is quite upsetting to see people standing around when the goal should be turning the tables over and getting them ready for more guests. I am appalled and disappointed to say the least.Customer service training and something about work ethic is greatly needed. DO BETTER!!

My husband and I dined at HRI on Western tonight. To be honest, there were multiple issues with the visit tonight but there was one stand out, the bartender - Jeremiah He was awesome. In the 2 hours that we were there, at times it seemed like he was the only person working. He was making drinks, taking orders, delivering food, and was very pleasant. As for my food, that’s another story. My appetizer had to be prepared again because it was delivered cold and my pizza was overcooked but I didn’t bother to say anything about that. i’m not saying that it’s a bad establishment, but they were having a bad night tonight from my previous experiences with them.

They are definitely following the CDC guidelines as far as protecting their patrons and employees from Covid-19. The wait was not long the afternoon we we decided to dine in. The bacon cheese fries were absolutely amazing. I forget the name of this frozen alcoholic beverage, but it was like drinking that rocket popsicle lol, just with alcohol. The Carolina style bbq chicken pizza was delicious and well cooked. Taste just like the Private Selection Carolina bbq sauce. Has a mustard/bbq sauce taste to describe it. The only reason I'm not giving a perfect 5 stars is, because the bacon cheese burger pizza does not have pickles listed in it's description and I got pickles on my pizza. I was starving so I ate around them. Can't stand a hot/warm pickle. It leaves the taste on everything.

  • Ozzie Cooley

Pizza was average at best but their lemon pepper wings was everything the Big Man up stairs promised us. Not only what's the front of house host. Very polite. Very well organized so is our waiter we were waited on. Also by the manager. The manager may contact with everyone in the restaurant following up behind the waiter. I've never felt more welcome and more appreciated in a restaurant before. Just off service alone If I could I would give the restaurant 10 stars.

This Home Run Inn Pizza (Beverly) is not to be mistaken for the one, near 35th and king drive nor the one across from Petrowski park, which was my first experience with the walk in/sit down franchise. The service at the Beverly location met the expectation but the food sadly did not. The pizza was really salty and did not taste like the signature pizza we're use to. The bacon cheese fries were also really salty. If it weren't for us ordering take out, we would have asked for a refund because the food was too salty and did not taste like what we paid for.

I really do love their pizza. The little things make all of the difference. Sauteing the mushrooms to get that extra umami flavor from them before putting them on the pizza, genius. The only reason I'm not there more often is the price and they are a little out of my way. I have yet to he disappointed by a pizza I bought from them. I place the order online, pick what I want, and pick it up. I also found out today that they have an app, booyah. On top of that, today was free pizza Friday, whaaaaatttt!!! The woman at the counter told me that I also get a free frozen pizza with my order. What else do I need to to tell you. Mova your feetza down to Home Run Inn pizza. I want to see how many 'ol heads remember that. Out.

Unfortunately, management leaves a lot to be desired. We ordered two pizzas for dine-in and both were prepared incorrectly. When asked to speak with the manager, he sends our waitress back to us on three different occasions with messages. Our waitress was top notch. She did what she could to rectify the situation. However, needs to be on top of their game. When we asked to speak with the manager, he should have come. We can't complain about the food. What we were able to eat was very good.

When I left with my arms full of pizza boxes, a staff member walking by held open the door for me and wished me a nice night. Little things mean a lot! Always great to drop into home run inn pizza while I'm in chi town. Little known family-owned thin crust that will blow your mind. The original is on 31st and is great for a daytime visit. Staff at Beverly location super sweet. The 1947 is the perfect blend of caramelize onion, roast mushrooms and Italian sausage. For those who don't eat pork, they also offer chicken sausage and turkey bacon as options!

This homerunn inn has good food usually does. However what I have noticed is that on a consistent basis there always seems to be a staffing shortage and a long wait no matter what day it is. Today is a Monday not really busy at all sign states you can only dine in after 3 and they are still unprepared. Sat and waited for a hour to be seated just to still be seated with no cups of water on the table and no server to wait on us. A additional 15 mins later. I would reccomend calling for carry out or checking to see if they have a reservation option and I’m not even sure that would be helpful.

Just left this location after waiting 40 minutes to be seated only to be told they call us. I asked why did you take my phone number if you wasn't going to call it. The young lady proceeded to say she did call my cellphone and it was a Blatant Lie. I never left the parking lot. Also this is what she told the person in line in front of us. The problem is she messed up my number numerous times while I was signing up to be on the list. I had to repeat my number to make sure she had it. Do not go here because the young lady then acted like it was my fault. I don't recommend this location because of Service.

Because of previous bad experience, decided to order directly from home run inn. Asked for the special advertised 2 large cheese pizza 29.99, also whether or not for that price add sausage to half of one of cheese pizza. Employee said yes. After repeating same question was told yes. Was then told 54.00. Asked for breakdown, reason for 54.00 charge. Was given vague responses, seemed to be irritated kept asking me to hold on. Pizza's arrived without receipt. Called and receipt was sent electronically. Confirmed fact employee lied and overcharged me. 00000+0 would be my rating.

This may look like a good pizza. And I really wanted it to be. But I guess they were having a really bad day. Home Run Inn frozen pizzas taste better than this. The butter crust was the only thing that tasted good. The sauce and the sausage really tasted old. The cheese was almost non-existent. But on the good side, the staff were extremely friendly. My pizza was hot. It was also ready a few minutes before it was due to be. So maybe it was an off day. Maybe, I'll add more cheese and sauce. Maybe, I'll try a different topping or maybe I'll go back to my original places. I think I'll stick to the frozen version.

I ordered an extra large pizza on June 13th approximately 6:30 p.m. it was supposed to have butter garlic crust it did not although it had quite a bit of sausage on there which was fantastic the pizza was overcooked and it tasted dry been eating Home Run Inn pizza for the last 50 years used to always go to 31st Street in the last 15 years going to Archer Avenue today was my first day ordering from The Beverly location and let me tell you this pizza was nowhere near as tasty and good as the Archer location

We ordered the wings, honey bbq and medium. Pretty tasty. Mozzarella sticks were very mediocre, just taste like heated up frozen cheese sticks, nothing special. The super fries were kind of salty but okay. We also got a large pepperoni (1/2) and sausage and mushroom pizza that was good. Overall I recommend the restaurant but it did seem a bit pricey for what we got and how the food was presented/actually tasted. What I mentioned plus a kids cheese pizza, for over $100.

She immediately sat them. When I asked has she forgotten she at first looked puzzle. Responded no I am sitting you now. When I asked for the manager and explain what happen he responded she is sitting you now. Neither found that they need to apologize. The employees are led by example of the management. Disappointed

Sorry to say, but awful!! Nothing, no way,no how like back in the 70's/80s/90s. So dissapointed, does not taste the same, none of it! Crust, sauce, sausage NOPE! Worse through the years. Our pizza was dry and over cooked and not home run inn flavor as used to be. Waited forever for seating, finally just ate it at the bar. Poor bartender girl had to do 2 jobs at once for the evening.

Please make sure you are hiring people that can hear. Upon initial walk in we were told there was 40 minute wait time. Not a problem, I had to repeat my phone number at least 6 times and apparently she still didn't hear it correctly. After waiting a while, we went back in and was told they called us for our table. Either she lied, she need a hearing aide or she's slow. But I wasn't about to wait additional time because of the hostess inability to do her job. Do not recommend

I came from the south suburbs just to give my daughter the in person Home Run Inn experience. You did not disappoint! There was ample parking, no wait to be seated, fast friendly service and the BEST piping hot pizza! We have decided to make it a regular outing at least twice a month. See you soon!

Very disappointed, the food was ok but the part that took the icing is that a 17% “Service/Delivery” fee is applied to the bill and that is pretty high. I don’t live in Illinois anymore so this took me by surprise when I came to visit the restaurant but I know I will not be visiting again. Nor will I recommend this restaurant to my family or friends that plan to visit. Service wasn’t great, but I hope that full 17% is going to the waiters and waitresses.

This is one of my favorite locations for a call in order. Unfortunately on Wednesday 10/14. I called in my order and had the pleasure of speaking with Unpleasant Rosemary. She made me feel like I called her at home on her off day. And my Pizza and Salad reflected her feelings even though I know she didn't prepare it. The Pizza was hard and dry the apples in the Salad were slightly brown like they were going bad. I wasn't Satisfied at all.

Got here at 4:04.. it's 5:31..no pizza yet, server says pizza wasnt done ,they had to put it in the bottom oven( whatever that means...Server cool as hell tho... will never come back..5:45 pizza came room temperature ... they lucky my old lady paid , got it boxed up..waste of time and money.....

This so called "service charge" for 6 or more is ridiculous and to also tip the server as well, I feel is a rip off. It also should be made aware of before being seated. I started not to tip but that wouldn't have been fair to the server she was nice and it isn't her rule. Never will I sit and eat there again. Take out only ! It's much cheaper.

I LOVE this pizza. I am a native Chicagoan and, whenever I am fortunate to come back home for a visit, HOME RUN INN PIZZA is one of my major stops. I can buy it frozen but, there’s nothing like the real thing!!!!

It really is worth the trip. My first experience with Home Run Inn Pizza, was their frozen pies. Absolutely some of the best frozen pizzas out there. I just never got around to trying them for real. This was my first trip to an actual building where they made it fresh. I was not disappointed. I will be back till I try them all. Tonight’s Carolina BBQ pizza was a small edible artwork.

Frozen food! Waited 30+minutes for a 6 piece chicken dippers. Then I proceed to go take a seat to ‘enjoy’ my food and this lady comes to me asking what I’m doing as I answered I was going to take a seat to eat she orders me to sit at a table because she needed to see me eat and not make a mess. Horrible place to eat but amazing cashier Poot thing had to work in that ugly place

  • Marjorie Ruth

I've been going getting pizza from Home Run Inn for about 50 years. We had to wait for about half an hour to get seated, not crowded, and then when seated, we weren't acknowledged for 15 minutes. The manager is the person who brought our drinks, pizza, and boxed our pizzas. A shame the waitress got the tip when she really never helped us. The manager was very nice and helpful.

I always enjoy a visit here. They also have non pork options to place on your pizza. We had the turkey sausage and barbeque chicken pizza. The barbeque sauce was a little sweet but was still tasty. The server was attentive. They have a dessert counter that had some appealing options but I was too stuffed to try. I will save room the next time!

Pizza pieces on top of one another & disshelved in the box with pizza slices bonded together. upon pick up. The cashier whom I received my order from shrugged me off. The mgr took off the price of 1 topping and did not address the poor customer service. I made a 40 min special trip to patronize the business only to be sooo disappointed.

Ordered a veggie melt - veggies were ice cold! Offered to replace, but the experience was over and I declined. Pizza was good. Server was very nice, but she forgot part of order (fries/soda) she did not get a good tip! I think she was at the end her shift...perhaps she was tired.

Placed an order at 5:08 to be delivered at 6:40. 6:40 arrived no delivery. 6:50 I call the restaurant “oh the order wasn’t placed until 5:45” as if I didn’t place it myself and/or see the charge. Then they tell me I can call the delivery driver for an update. Sheesh I should’ve gotten a frozen pizza.

I ask for well-done every time, today I got burnt. The counter worker thought it was funny, I feel sorry for businesses, clearly the worker shortage has forced them to lower their standards. I only ordered from here today because they emailed me a "we miss you" coupon, miss me again with this bad food and service.
