EDIT: Updating from earlier. These folks stepped up and made this a much more pleasant experience. I will caution that they have a very tight schedule. Not surprising given the volume of cycles in the city proportionate to the absence of bike shops. They offer premium grade services and very trustworthy work. My bike feels brand new. ————————— Older review below: I hope I can change this review in the future. I’ve always brought my bike here for same-day flats. Always has been quick and helpful. So I naturally brought it back when I had a bad spoke. First I brought it in and they said they had no room and to bring it back the following week with an appointment. Okay, understandable. Brought it back on a Tuesday for a Wednesday appointment. Got a call Wednesday that they were overbooked and down staff and couldn’t get to it til Thursday. Okay, understandable. Come Thursday I get a call that they couldn’t get to it and it’ll definitely be done by COB Friday. Okay, understandable. Friday comes and goes and no call. I go in person today (Tuesday, the following week), and they say it’s still not ready and they are waiting for a part delivery which will “hopefully” come Wednesday and it’ll then be ready Thursday. What’s more, the cost of repairs, as quoted, is nearly what I paid in full for the whole bike! I’m sorry but how long should I be waiting for a fix? And at what cost? This is the kind of service I’d expect out of an exurbia car dealership — not a respected bike shop.

Very negative experience with Conte's on Q st. As other reviewers have said, I scheduled an appointment with them for a simple 10-minute repair, my bike sat with them for a week while they did no work on it, they never communicated about the delay, and they planned to overcharge for it. In addition to wasting my time, when I finally went to pick up my bike to bring it to another shop an employee damaged my bicycle in front of me. He dropped my bike and it smashed on the ground. The attached metal crate broke off, got dented, and no longer fits properly anymore. First they tried to deny that they caused the damage. Then they offered to try to fix it but said "it's tricky and they might accidentally break it further". Then they told me the shop would replace the part if I emailed them, but they never responded. I dont expect them to take responsibility for carelessly damaging a customer's bike, so leaving a bad review and moving on. (On the bright side, I did get my bike fixed elsewhere. Trek Bicycles in Georgetown immediately replaced the brake cable in 10 minutes that day, and did additional tune-up adjustments free of charge. They charged me $16 for the repair when Conte’s had quoted me up to $50.) Edit: Conte's has new management. They have now reached out and replaced the broken part on my bicycle. I appreciate it.

I cannot recommend this bicycle shop. I have a simple bicycle with a dynamo hub. Minor misalignment issue that multiple mechanics at this shop could not diagnose. The chain was skipping for no reason and would not stay in gear. Conte had the bicycle for two weeks in June and when they finally got around to it - told me there was no issue and it was my imagination. The issue was definitely still there and I returned it in July where it languished for an entire month. They forgot about it, their system is not working, my ticket was canceled. Every time I called to find out what was happening I had to start from scratch. Take your bike to TREK in Georgetown. I took it there fifteen minutes before closing and the mechanic quickly diagnosed the issue. There are markers on the derailer and he showed me how they were out of alignment. Took him literally two minutes to tighten things up. He didn't even charge me and I rode it the long distance home with no issues. In the last call with Conte they told me that I needed a new chain and it would be $25 for the chain and $25 for the labor. Have completely lost faith in this bike shop.

Friendly staff, straightforward re: service and costs, and efficient at managing plenty of customers coming in. Contes will work with you to resolve problems, unlike other bike shops. For example, I have a bit of a strange situation with my bike. It has a rare 1 inch steerer with a 31.8mm handlebar. It's hard (impossible?) to find the right stem for this. Thus, Contes could not order it from their suppliers. They helped me understand exactly what to look for and encouraged me to bring in the part myself. I really appreciated that. Super great service. Right before I brought in that bike, I had them do an annual service on my bike after a truck hit me and hurt my front end. Their excellent work has renewed my confidence in my bike and helped me move on from a scary experience. Great work, folks. You're my LBS! EDIT: I had previously posted a review in which I expressed concern for less-than-ideal work. However, based on experiences with them since then, that work was VERY much a rare aberration. I'm in the Contes camp all the way and highly recommend you come here for your simple to more complicated bike needs.

I was thoroughly disappointed with my experience here. Went to get two flats changed and they said they didn’t have appointments until almost a month later. Left my bike and got the text that it was ready, showed up, and they pulled out the bike and it wasn’t fixed yet. They did it right then, but then my front tire kept deflating while it was just sitting in my apartment, and I kept bringing it back. They tried 5 or 6 times. No success and they couldn’t figure it out. The only bright side is that they only charged me the first time ($113 for two flats). The last time I went in, I was told if it goes flat one more time then I had two days to bring it back and they would replace the whole wheel next for free but if it was any later I’d have to pay for it. Unfortunately I was out of town for a bit but came back to, yes, another flat tire. But since that time had passed I’d have to pay them more. I had heard good things about this place so I’m very disappointed. Although the guys were nice for the most part, my issue wasn’t fixed after hiking down to the shop several times. Will not be going back.

Very unprofessional staff and hugely disappointing customer service experience. I stopped at the bike shop today to pick up my bike that I had left for repairs on a tire. I also wanted to buy a new helmet. The staff member who I approached was not helpful, to say the least. He provided condescending responses (--Why is this helmet better than others? --It's Specialized) as well as being discourteous and outright unprofessional, including raising his voice. Unacceptable to the core!! Upon being presented my bike for whose service I had paid lots of money, when I asked if the attendant would please pump some more air into one of the wheels, the staff member said: "Do you know how to bike air into wheels?" Laughingly sad, but also sadly unprofessional. Overall I can't imagine so much bad and snarky customer service being packed into such a small business. The manager should take note and make significant improvements. I would avoid this business at a heart beat!!

I now know first hand why Conte’s was chosen as America’s #1 bike shop by NBDA. After attempting to work with several other bike shops in NOVA, the Falls Church Conte’s team was the only shop that invested in me as a customer and went out of their way to work with a bike manufacturer they didn’t even have a contract with at the time. The provided with with updates on their efforts and eventually successfully helped me with getting this beautiful new frame. They communicated the shipping details, checked in during the wait time and notified me the day it arrived to the shop where I was able to inspect it right away. I easily scheduled the frame swap and they finished the swap in the same day that I took the old frame in. I couldn’t be happier with this experience and the service they provided me. I now look forward to riding with the shop during their group rides. I highly recommend Conte’s if you’re considering a new purchase or in need of bike maintenance.

What initially drove me to Conte’s was the simple fact they were open during their posted hours. Easy enough, right? Well, I’ve been going ever since and recommend them as often as able. This latest visit was for a Spring tune-up and the funny thing is how I seemingly brought in a Corolla and got back a Supra. Clearly all maintenance boxes were checked off but what shocked me was how clean they got it. Riding a white bike shows just about everything and this isn’t just the frame but the handlebars too. SPOTLESS This said, it’s well worth the cost and time away from your personal if you’re on the fence… “Conte’s Logan Circle”: 1. Staff is welcoming and knowledgeable. 2. Service prices are competitive. 3. Overall experience is unmatched. There are a few bike shops in the area, each with their bells and whistles, but you will not get the same customer service nor service quality than you will at Conte’s off Q.

  • SJ CatoLyles

All of the employees are nice and helpful but Miguel is the best!! He was extraordinarily great and provided above and beyond customer service after a lackluster visit to Conte’s in Navy Yard the same day. As a first time bike purchaser, he spent a lot of time with me and thoroughly recommended the right bike based on my needs, explained the features for the top contender bike and the runner ups, and recommended I test ride the bike….During the test ride, he was attentive the entire time, and made recommendations and adjustments to the bike. My husband and I were at Conte’s Q Street for a long time as it was hard for me to make a decision but Miguel and his colleagues were extremely patient, pleasant and helpful which is hard to come across these days. Thank you to Miguel and the crew at Conte’s Q Street Logan Circle Shop for giving this first time bike owner the best experience ever!!

  • Dave Thienel

Dropped by last week for something small and had a great experience with a guy that was nice and helpful. Stopped by again today and think I just got the wrong guy (tall guy with and accent). Was met with your typical grumpy bike mechanic attitude assuming I should know all things. I'm vehemently against this attitude as it's completely unnecessary in a customer service environment, especially one that's slowly dying and can only rely on service to pay the bills. Hoping it was just this guy that was unfortunate for the experience but maybe I'll try again and change the review if I get a nice human being next time. Bummerwave for what should be my LBS. UPDATE: Same day: called Silver Cycles. True customer service. It was a delightful experience. I'd recommend skipping the Conte's chain and go support your new LBS Silver Cycles.

I love this shop and I feel so glad that they are conveniently located, not far from Dupont or Logan. I was helped by Emily, who is super knowledgeable and professional. She obviously knows the variety of bikes and their features, and asks the needed questions to assess how we relate to our bike, in order to provide the best and most fitting advice. This is my second nike bought at Conde (with the store service warranty). My first bike was unfortunately stolen after 8 months. Emily helped me find my new bike and advise me on the best way to protect it from theft. The whole Conde team is very professional, and helped me add the additional parts that I needed on my new bike. I highly recommend the Conde store.

I just picked up my bike from Conte's where it received the annual check up. When dropping off the bike, I asked if they would honor the 10% discount I used to get from their predecessor bike up in that location and the gentleman said they would and asked me to remind him/them at check out. When I reminded him of this today at check out, he said it was the first time he was hearing such a thing. Not the nicest thing you want to hear. I would have been fine if he said something like "yeah, I thought we could, but it turns out we can't or something"... Of course I didn't make a big deal out of it, but it did leave a bad taste in my mouth. In summary: Good workmanship, but I'd say not the best customer service.

  • andrew roberts

Who has time to take a bike to get it assessed for a routine yearly tune up, before they’ll book an appointment for you on a day in to the future to actually do the work? Shame, I bought my bike a from here but found the staff when I went in very indifferent, and seemingly too busy to deal with a customer requiring some advice and service. Just to add to my frustration, my understanding was that I was entitled to a free tune up within the first year of buying the bike. The man I dealt with in the shop checked my details on their system and said I was over the year, but on returning home and checking my receipt realise that is definitely not the case. Overall, a very poor experience:

I brought my bike in for an annual servicing in late August. Since then (it’s now December), my bike chain has busted 4 different times. I’ve brought it in and explained the problem every time and they have been unable to fix whatever issue they caused during the servicing. Most recently, my bike didn’t even make it home from the shop before the chain derailed again. They also talked me into changing my wheel, but that also did not solve the issue. Long story short, I’ve now paid almost $500 between the servicing and the wheel replacement for Conte’s to seemingly ruin my bike and offer no solution other than to look at it yet again at no extra cost “within reason.”

  • David Shirzad

Conte’s is a very solid bike shop to get service done on your bike. Right now they are undergoing a renovation, so you might have to wait outside for a minute before they take you inside, but it shouldn’t be long. I brought my road bike in see if they could help me remove some stripped screws. The mechanics took me right away and were able to remove the screws. I had tried other bike shops but they hadn’t been able to do remove them. Conte’s did the job and did charge me a small fee for it, but for the speed and the fact they actually got the job done, I was more than happy to pay. I would absolutely go back there next time I need help with a problem.

  • Becca Bycott

I just bought a new bike for the first time in over a decade, and this place was wonderful. I first had a great customer service experience chatting with one of their staff (Kate??) online while visiting their website; she helped me pick out an amazing bike that was just what I wanted. Then Conte's in Logan Circle kept me up to date on it coming in and called me to let me know it was ready. Alex, the person in the store who helped me get my bike all set up, thoughtfully answered all my questions and was really nice. Thank you for such a great experience; I''ll definitely be coming back for tune ups and any additional accessories I need.

  • Michael Konstantino

The peeps at Conte's are absolutely fantastic! After walking my bike for miles, I walked in with a flat rear tire on the evening of Dec. 23 aggravated, frustrated and exhausted. It was 15 mins before closing, but Taylor and, I believe, Brad, agreed to stay late past 7pm to repair my tire and get me going again. He also did a quick safety check, adjusting and cleaning my brakes, derailer, and other components. This was the same sort of service with a smile that went the extra mile when I had Conte's assemble two previous bikes I purchased over the past couple of years. I highly recommend them! They're a neighborhood favorite for cyclers.

  • Francesco Grigoli

I brought in my bike for the first time as I had a missing screw. I was attended by a nice young guy that asked me to wait while he checked with the more experienced people. After 20 minutes another guy came and told me that there was I missing part. I told him that that was the reason I was there. He told me that I should have gone to the people that sold me the bike and gave me my bike back. Regardless of the advice, he was impolite and arrogant. And while I was there, two employees discussed in front of a customer about what one should have said and when he should have scheduled him. Just overall tension in the air. Bad experience.

  • David Kalter

Staff were great for arranging for service, with an appointment. When the bike was serviced, the tech called me to tell me how it went, and that I could pick my bike up. The repairs were done well, with additional kudos for the tech discovering during the work that a part was worn out and replacing it with an inexpensive, used but good part. My only issue with the service is that the original cause for my taking the bike in for service (the wheels not spinning freely) was not addressed (the wheels are still not running freely). Going for a test ride now, and will check in with the shop depending on how that goes...

  • Travis Lilley

Had to put two of my bikes through their shop because they were completely ravaged by scavengers. They got my bikes back up to speed and even better than new in some cases. I had to leave one bike there for a couple of months while I got insurance/ police report hashed out. They didn’t try to charge me extra for keeping it that long and it was a good thing because in the end I wound up spending about $1200 there. They have a great system/ app that keeps you Informed and helps things run smoothly. Most of the staff was incredibly friendly. Seems like they really know their stuff and are very on top of things.

So I'm in DC visiting a friend. We're walking around and all the sudden we notice that one of my front wheels of my manual wheelchair is missing a nut & bolt so my wheelchair tire is sideways and can't use it properly. It's Sunday so everything "medical" or "wheelchair repair" is closed and I'm like ok GREAT now what....WAIT! Let me call a bike shop!? Called Conde's and they said they weren't sure what I need but they'd be able to figure something out if I bring it in and they did!!! Amazing service and definitely helped me out in my time of desperation. I can't thank them enough!!

  • Will Snyder

I waited almost 30 minutes for someone to speak to me and there was only one person ahead of me. There were three people behind the counter and no one said a word to me. Then finally I was asked "how can I help you" and was told my e-bike could not be serviced due to a "diagnostic kit" being unavailable. I brought it to Strictly Ebikes in Alexandria and they were able to help me right away. I understand if you can't service my bike that is understandable but why make me wait 30 minutes just to tell me you can't help me? It was honestly very rude to not address a customer for that long.

  • Dionne Bowers-Nicks

A lovely worker named Keon helped me last time I was in the Conte’s Shop at Logan Circle. He was so nice and considerate. He is also a really good listener. My bike is working very well now. It is not the first time that Keon has helped me with my bike at Conte’s Shop. The first time was at the Navy Yard location. He was excellent! Helped me pick out a helmet and a bike lock. Really took his time getting to know what I like and then directing me to options that fit my desire and needs. This man honestly deserves a raise if he has not already gotten one. 10/10 would recommend Keon.

  • Amanda Starbuck

I was riding my bike along the street when the bolt holding my seat snapped in two. Conte's Logan Circle was the nearest open bike shop on a Sunday afternoon, so in I went with my broken ride. Jay was very helpful and explained that I needed to replace the seat post for safety. I left my bike with Conte's and collected it several days later with a shiny new seat post. Their prices for parts and labor are very reasonable and the staff are friendly (with none of that 'we know it all and you don't' vibe I have felt in a lot of other bike shops). Thank you Conte's!

  • Yerlan Utegenov

I just had the pleasure of visiting Conte Bike Shop and was thoroughly impressed by the level of service I received. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed and taken care of. I would like to extend my highest appreciation to Tyler, for his professionalism and customer service. His extensive knowledge of cycling gear and genuine willingness to assist made my experience memorable. Now, my brother can now begin his recovery rides using the smart trainer that's been expertly configured with his bike. This is the best one-stop-shop for all my cycling needs.

  • Mike Crockett

Great experience overall. The folks working here are honest, hard-working and helpful. I just needed a tune-up on my bike and looking online I decided I needed the Annual Service. After going in and talking to one of the employees, he actually told me it was unnecessary based on how good the condition the bike was still in, so I opted for the less-expensive Semi-Annual Service. In addition, they got the bike serviced two days ahead of schedule. These are good people who actually prioritize customer needs instead of making a quick buck. Highly recommend

  • Rebecca Goldberg

got a flat today and needed to get my tube changed... was told by another shop that they couldn’t help me so was expecting that conte couldn’t either. there was a bit of a line when i got there (we’re still social distancing) but they got through everyone quite quickly and they ended up replacing my tube in a little less than 15 min once it was my turn. the only delay once they reached me was when a protest passed by and out of respect they paused rather than just pretending it wasn’t happening. i thought that was cool. good experience

  • Marc Shepard

I had a flat on the road. I had to wait because the attendant spent a lot of time with each person in line ahead of me. I left my tire, when I returned, I had to buy a new tire, which was very difficult to put on the rim. After handing off the problem to a 2nd attendant, it was put on with great difficulty. The people were upbeat and helpful in getting a difficult job done. I later had more problems with pumping up the tire, and they were great about showing me what needed to be done. I highly recommend this store.

  • Joseph Kiessling

I had a very disappointing experience with this shop. After dropping my bike off for a new tire installation, the mechanic told me that it would be ready in three days, four maximum. When I called four days later, they said they were waiting on an order for tire valves, and that it might be done later that day. When I visited the store the next day, the mechanic said they wouldn't be ordering valves until the following week. I ended up taking my bike back. I will be looking elsewhere for bike service.

  • Eric Weissman

I got a flat on my commute from Takoma Park to downtown DC this morning. I locked my bike up near Conte's until my lunch break then had them replace the tube. Turns out the front tire was worn out and needed to be replaced. Then we decided to do the rear tire, too. While my bike was up on the stand, the mechanic did a once over, tightening this, lubing that, adjusting this, fixing that, all while I waited. I rolled out of there on a nicer bike at a very fair price. Great customer service. Delighted.

  • Q B

Took my nephews bike in after getting it back from another shop (I didn’t feel that that shop had done what they claimed). I asked them to do another tune up and was prepared to pay the $150 they charge. To my surprise they didn’t want me to have to pay more than I had already been duped out of at the other shop. The mechanics looked over it and adjusted what wasn’t correct and didn’t charge me a cent. Very nice guys, and I will definitely bring my bikes here in the future.

  • Joseph Rosenthal

Reasonable, knowledgeable, and professional! These guys know all different kinds of bikes and work with what you have! I walked in just to schedule a tune up and they still cared over my bike as if I already paid, just the check up left my feeling cared for without any requirement. While they inspected my bike, another poor fellow walked in having issues, they made a quick adjustment and said no payment was required for the quick fix. Highly recommend this place.

  • Robert Gardner

So, big fan of Conte’s, so, when they opened the new shop close to my house, I was stoked. My experience cemented that for me — top notch. So, I had a wheel build — dynamo hub — done and I had all the parts except the spokes. Cool. They set a date, ordered the parts, I showed up on the date and 24 hours later BLAMO the bike was done and done perfectly. Brought some snacks for the friends and they were most happy. Go to Conte’s and buy stuff. They are great.

  • Marisa Pashkin

I was having some small issues with my bike that I couldn't identify so I brought it into Conte's bike shop. The staff were super helpful and I didn't feel like they were upselling me. There was a bit of a wait for service but well worth it. Once my appointment came around, they completed the work in just 2 days. They are slightly more expensive than some other shops but the quality of service made it worth paying. I would take my bike here again.

  • Taiane Todd

if you are thinking about going to this store don't go!! the service is terrible and the people are ignorant the price is absurd. I took my bike to change the brakes and they just did a “makeup” they didn't change it they just put it together! Am I a clown by any chance? Will I pay $80 to adjust? I said swap!!! and I still tried to appeal with the store and they said they couldn't do anything! i.e. don't go! if you want better service go to REI

  • Lali Singh

They've had my bike for like 8 days now and haven't responded to my emails in 3 days. When they did respond the first time, they failed to do a proper inspection as their analysis was actually incorrect on the issues. I had to point them in the right direction but then they finally figured out what the issue was. it's possible they are busy, but I would appreciate it if someone answered the calls or responded to my email.

  • Yamile Regalado Someillan

I work nearby and was to drop my bike off because my back brakes lever was depressing too much before it activated the brakes. I went in and explained what was going on with the brakes and the tech walked up with a tool and made a fast adjustment and done! fixed! Amazing service, I can't say that they'd give free service all the time, but that was pretty great and my problem is solved. Ready to ride! Thank you!!!!

  • Wendy H

My bike seat broke off mid-biking (lol, because I assembled this bike myself after purchasing from Amazon). I was pretty far from home. Conte was the closest to me so I went there for a complete bike check-up out of desperation. So I left my bike there and Metroed home. U would know your price upfront, which I appreciate. They phoned me to remind me that my bike is ready, and the service was great!

  • Alyssa Staats

Fantastic experience today. Came a bit after noon on a Sunday, and there was no wait and they went right to work on identifying and resolving the problem, which was done efficiently and thoroughly at no charge. The whole thing was done in only a few minutes, and they even gave my tires a nice pump up as well. Excellent job, would highly recommend, and super excited to ride around again!

  • Abdullahi Asimalowo

I took my daughter's bike in for a break adjustment. It took the technician about 20 minutes, redoing the entire break. After he finished, he said the service is free. I don't know where in DC you get a service for free. Even my 7 old was surprised. Conte's team support of our family's biking efforts is mush appreciated. With that, I cant go anywhere else to fix any of our family bikes.

  • Chris White

I’ve been to a few bike shops. This is by far the best. The guys in there are friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. They give you realistic timelines, and help in real time as well. Tyler and Jacob were able to get me started on a few items that other bike shops said would take weeks, while giving excellent customer service. All contes location are pretty good, but this is the best.

  • Chris Griego

I must have done something in a past life to the tall young short brown haired kid that works there . Absolutely never going again , sold me a chain and never asked to help install . I come back 20 mins later and even more of an a**hole. Would t help and told me to buy a tool for 49 bucks . Worst Nike shop I e ever been to . Now I can’t work . Thanks a bunch dude

  • Colin Schoenfelder

Have gone into Conte's Logan Circle many times and they are a great bike shop, my go-to in the city. I tend to like to try doing my own bike work, but have relied on them for parts and tools and they have always been super helpful and kind about answering questions that I have when I inevitably get stuck on something. Thanks a bunch, cant recommend high enough!

  • Carl Henderson

Had extended turnaround time to complete requested repairs that was explained as due to increased demand for services and some personnel turnover . Staff was very apologetic and made attempts to ensure customer satisfaction with pricing accommodation. Bike was delivered with requested repairs and cleaned up like new. Very happy with service and outcome. Thanks!

  • Reda ABOUTAJDINE

I was already using their outside installed pump, which allows customers to access it even when the shop is closed, so I already had a good opinion, but my experience replacing an air chamber further convinced me. Great service, I especially appreciated pricing the transparency (I was given an estimate beforehand). Overall, very helpful and polite staff.

  • Kimberly Vacca

Conte's Bike Shop is an amazing resource for the bicycling community. They're conveniently located and provide quick turn-around on services. I went in for a tune up and retaping of my handlebars. A few weeks later the tape starting to come undone, so I took it back in and they fixed it free of charge. I'm very thankful to live so close to this store!

  • Lauren Kluba

Conte's has helped me out so many times. The folks here are super helpful and nice and never make me feel bad when I've done something stupid with my bike! This past Friday I brought it in and they were able to fix what I needed on the spot which was super appreciated since I had a 30M ride planned the next day. I wouldn't take my bike anywhere else!

  • Ester F.

They did a phenomenal job! All repairs have been carefully made. It took longer than usual because of ordering new parts, result of COVID supply chain delays. Also, when I went to pick up my bike, they notice a small issue with my bike fender and quickly fixed it. I highly recommend their repair work; their dedication and service is unparalleled!

  • Margaret McElroy

I randomly went in on a Tuesday after work because I noticed an issue with my back wheel. The employee immediately hoisted up my bike and fixed the issue within 3 minutes, while explaining to me what happened. When I asked how much I owed them, they said it was free of charge. Overall, an amazing experience and I will definitely be returning!

  • James Watson (Jimmy)

I go there to get my bike fixed and they always do a great job. Keon is always extremely helpful and tells me what’s needed, he assist me in the most professional manner and does great work on my bicycle. Their music selection is just as good as the service. Thank you to the staff at this shop, every experience I have is a great experience!

  • John Balderston

I came to Conte’s bike shop right after a small bike accident. I wasn’t sure the shape of my bike, just yet. They offered me a first aid kit, let me use their bathroom, and evaluated the damage. A few quick tweaks and I was on my way. AND they were nice enough to do the minor fixes free of charge. Highly recommend this friendly bike shop

  • David Perry

Bought some Shimano shoes from the Alexandria store a while back and one of the Boa fasteners broke. I tried to repair it myself, but no luck (after watching many YouTube videos). Went to the Q Street shop today and T quickly took care of the problem. Highly recommend Conte's for value and professional and friendly customer service.

  • Joe Puzzo

The staff at Conte’s are always so helpful. I bought my bike from the Arlington store but have had my bike serviced & purchased add-ons (mirror, saddle bags, new seat....) at the Logan Circle Q st. store. And bought great bike shorts & clothes at Navy Yard store. No matter which store I’m at, the staff is great, products excellent!!

Conte’s is the spot! After moving to DC I desperately needed to find my new favorite LBS and Conte’s has proven time after time that they will always take care of me and my bikes/projects regardless of size or issue. Managing to squeeze in my minor inconveniences despite working a fully loaded COVID queue. Keep cool Conte’s …

I had my bikes shipped from California to Conte’s on 14th street. The specialized store in California forgot to shop a part, and without missing a beat Conte’s worked with the specialized store to have a new part shipped out for me. Excellent service and kept me in the loop at every step. Definitely a life long customer. -Connor

I was looking to buy a bike for my husband's birthday and store after store excused their lack of inventory because of COVID -- I was on several waiting lists. I went to Conte's on a last-minute hope and they were able to get the bike I wanted within a matter of days! Birthday saved! Very pleased with their attitude and service!

  • john zwiss

I had a terrific experience with Conte’s this last weekend. As busy as they are, they were able to take care of my derailleur last minute. I appreciated the attention to detail and how obviously experienced everyone was. I will definitely be back in the future and recommend Conte’s to anyone who needs anything bike related.

I've had a handful of repairs done here this year and am always very happy with the service and the prices. They explain the problem, how they can fix it, how much time it will take, and how much it will cost. Staff are always extremely friendly and approachable. I am very, very thankful to have them in the neighborhood!

  • Henson Creek House

MK was probably the most helpful sales person I’ve ever met. Answered general questions with great detail, and went above and beyond to make sure I was ready for the road. Can’t thank them enough. The store was closed but he still wanted to make sure I was all set. Great experience—I’ll never go to any other bike shop.

  • Bryan Crossley

Last time I went to the store they didn't fix my bike the right way, I eventually had to take it to Rollin cycles. I tried calling twice but one of the managers hung the phone up both times! Very unprofessional, probably should have gone somewhere else to get my bike fixed. It's too bad because the shop is really nice.

  • Tracy McIntyre

OK I just wanted to thank you for the guy at the starting line who got my rental bike that was duct up big time. You got it all fixed up for me. I was able to do the 20 miler with no issues so it’s a great day. I wish I would’ve caught his name. Thank you very much and for giving you support to these special events!

  • JoyJoy B

They are super helpful and friendly. Best part is they don’t try and take all your money like another bike shop I know in DC NW‍♀️. Prices are awsome! I’m so sticking with them until I move else where! Also one of the dudes are so cute!! He looks like a sandy blonde Chris Brown with a beard. Lol‍♀️ …

  • Jennifer Smart

Had a great experience here! Even though they seemed very busy, they were able to take the time out to scrub the rust off my old bike and restore it to its former glory. It was far more affordable than I expected, and they only took one work day to fix it up, replace the tires and chain, and run a safety check.

  • Sasha Galbreath

Cannot recommend this place enough. Staff is super friendly, informative, and willing to go the extra mile. The guy who worked with me walked me through the issues and recommended easy, user-friendly steps to mitigate them in the future. Prices were extremely reasonable for the service. My new go-to. Thank you!

  • Joe P

I had an excellent experience at Contes. I had to exchange a bike because it was the wrong size - Miguel spent so much time going through specs of different bikes to help me find the one that best met my needs. He even gave me some tips on how to improve my ride. Thank you so much ! I love my new bike!

  • Chris Marker

Stopped in on a whim because I was riding down Q st and I needed some chain lube. In the process of showing me how to properly lubricate the chain, the mechanic discovered that my back wheel was (badly) off kilter and was able to get it quickly fixed while I went and got some lunch. Fantastic service!

  • Deborah Willig

Grateful Conte's hired much of Bike Rack's staff. Kate and Jeff have been my stalwart safety and flat tire companions since my commute went from 10 to 60 miles per week. They know bikes and are delightful humans. Call to find out about workload pacing and drop in anytime for emergencies! Big fan here.

  • Stacie Marinelli

I was delighted with my service at Conte's. I am always greeted warmly and the work is done quickly. They are in my 'hood so I love the convenience. I'm not a racer (I have a clunky street bike) and don't feel any snobbishness towards that (which is the case with some shops I've been to in the past).

  • Nicholas Kirsch

They're the best. They're overwhelmed with excess demand these days so long wait on appointments, but they're super knowledgeable, caring and efficient. I was a huge long time fan of Bike Rack and worried Conte's would make it too corporate, but Q St Conte's is the best in town for me and my 5 bikes.

  • Jaime Zaldivar

Wow.What an awesome group of people working here. They scheduled me 10 days ahead, dropped off my bike the night before, and bike was ready the same day. Not only that, but I took my bike and had a flat within a few blocks, they took care of it immediately. Awesome team and highly recommend them

  • J Sigue

Caught a flat on Sunday. Was there when they opened and third in line. Waited about 10 minutes for service as no one is allowed in the store due to COVID. Good service. Pleasant. Knowledgable. Seemed to be working hard to get repairs done ASAP. Happy to have this shop in the neighborhood.

  • Amy Singer

Could not be more satisfied with the customer service at Conte's. I take my bike there way too often for problems small and large, ranging from needing help pumping my tires to more mechanical problems. The staff there are always so friendly, helpful, and timely. 10/10 recommend!

  • Chris Martinez

Outstanding! I blew a tire on some road glass not far from here, and even though there was a line (heightened demand due to COVID!), they replaced my inner tube within 20 minutes. I had barely gotten around the block when I got their call that it was done. Also, very cool staff.

  • Sebastian Grund

I bought a brand new bike here and I have been really satisfied with the customer service. There were a couple of things that had to be adjusted in the weeks after I bought the bike and they fixed everything for free and always within a matter of hours. Great guys, great shop!

  • Peter Bepler

Friendly and knowledgable team. Great service. Quick turnaround. Bike running smoother than ever. I also asked them about upgrading my wheel set and they came back with the perfect recommendation. They will be my go-to shop for service and parts going forward. Thanks!

  • Jesse Zukerberg

The employees at this Conte’s location we’re not knowledgeable. Further, they worked very slow and didn’t not display customer service. I do not recommend this shop if you want quality service in a timely manner. The Cathedral heights location is always good though.

  • Robert Eric Jones

I visited the 14th and Q shop several times. The staff is amazing and very knowledgeable. Noah is by far my favorite. He always is pleasant and very helpful. I won’t take my bike anywhere else and when I purchase a second bike it will be at this location.

  • john

1st time customer and wow was I blown away by service. Looks like they have a new manager and staff and they are by far some of the best in the business. Conte's has other locations but seriously, why bother with them, when this shop is the one to go to.

  • Joey Paolino

I just had a great experience at Conte's on Q St NW. I took my bike in after not having ridden it for about a year and they fixed it up quickly and explained all that I needed to do in the future. They were very friendly and super helpful. I'll be back!

  • David Miller

A rare gem of a DC bike shop that will offer to assist with e-scooters. My disk break needed adjustment, and after contacting about 6 local bike shops, this was the only one that would even consider helping. And, they tuned my scooter break perfectly.

  • Josh R

Went by hoping I could get a little help tightening my bike chain. They charged me $10 for like 2secs of labor to pull my wheel back a inch!! Like I have been to this shop soooo many times and they use to be way more chill helping with minor issues….

  • Jessi New

Great spot for bike repairs in the city. The staff is super knowledgeable and friendly. Communication made easy with the app. Def happy to have a good spot for quick regular service needs or drop off for a tune up that had my bike feeling like new.

  • Caren Gagliano

Extremely responsive staff and management. Nice people. And, they stand behind their warranties. Have had many interactions with them on a couple of bikes that we own and they are always five stars. Great to have such a wonderful local bike shop

  • Alex Torres

Great bike shop! Super helpful and knowledgeable. Polite and saved me a fortune. Went in thinking I needed to drop serious money on a new wheel. Thanks to the pros there they fixed my wheel and set me up right. Glad they are in my neighborhood.

  • Ashley Jack

I was in a hurry to buy a bike with little knowledge of what I was doing. Fortunately, Walker saved the day! He was completely transparent on his advice and helped me get exactly what I needed. I am officially a loyal customer to this shop. -AJ

  • Bradley Norris Gallagher

Tremendous staff. In my most recent visit, I had come in for a relatively straightforward tire issue. Benjamin swapped out out a new tire for me within 4 minutes of my walking in the front door. Will continue to come back for service like this!

  • Amira El-Bidawi

T helped out big time when the chain of my bike came off right in front of the shop! I’m incredibly grateful for the quick help and going the extra mile to fix the bike! I’m definitely going to check out the clinic too ☺️ …

  • Yhon Alexander Salvatierra

I went there to get a new tube for my front tire. The person who did everything for my bike was very knowledgeable and friendly! It only took around 5 minutes to get it done. I’ll definitely recommend this place and going back there if needed!

  • Leonor Grave

Incredibly kind and helpful staff! I came in for help with my e-bike after the battery had a connection issue and they were able to figure out the problem and fix it promptly. Special thanks to Keon who helped me - he went above and beyond!

  • S Landberg (Slandberg)

'Friendly staff. They got my bike fixed by the next day, which was fine because I arrived late in the afternoon. I LIKED that for covid19 they wore gloves and you couldn't come inside, and they seemed really paranoid about the spread of

  • Jason Delborne

I thought I needed to replace my shifter, but the mechanic did a quick inspection and found that he could fix it without any parts. He did that while I was waiting, gently recommended a new bike chain (with no pressure for an immediate

  • Mary Neznek

Conte Bikes and Simon got my bike rider ready in less than 2 days and kept within a budget so that I could unshelter in place and get out of the house to keep my mental and physical health up. They were courteous and efficient and it's

  • Giulia Duch Clerici

the kindest, most efficient folk! i came in before they opened after getting a flat on my way to work, and they saw me waiting outside and fixed it in 10 mins! can always trust them to fix my bike without being afraid to be ripped off!

  • Sonia Rowley

Whenever I'm working in DC, I always come to these guys; helpful, professional, and friendly. They've helped me pack my bike for flying and all manner of odds and ends. Highly recommend this bike store :) Thank you for all your help!

  • Dean Hill

Super helpful. I was having troubles with a d-fuse post adapter so I could mount a back rack. The mechanic found a machine screw (that I was missing) to tighten in properly and had me on my way in no time. Friendly, hepful.

  • Zachary Doyle

My go-to bike shop in DC. Scheduled an appointment for a brake issue on my ebike and mentioned a secondary issue I was having to them while I was dropping it off - they had both problems solved by the next afternoon!

  • Justin Danowski

I came in to test ride a Cannondale Quick 2 that was transferred over from a different store. The gears were grinding but Miguel made adjustments and got everything set up. I had a good experience and will be back.

  • Avery Rasmussen

Went in to Conte’s with 2 alignment issues on my bike. Miguel fixed them immediately while I waited, very kindly and very quickly and without charge. Highly recommend this awesome local store. Thank you Conte’s!

  • TJ Picciotti

Walked in the door a couple minutes before closing and Miguel stayed after hours to get tube replaced, even though they were already slammed. Super helpful and walked me through each step, will be back for sure.

  • Eric Gastfriend

Very friendly and supportive. I came in for a tune-up and they spent a while looking at my bike, answering my questions, cleaning it up, and then said it was already in good shape and didn't charge me!
