I went to the Copper Kettle for the first time today. Good: For a cafe, the food was good. I ordered their goat cheese sandwich and their pear salad. The raspberry vinaigrette on the salad was delicious. The ratio of roasted red peppers on the sandwich was off, there were too many and it over took the flavour of the goat cheese. But for cafe style food it was tasty and fresh. The atmosphere was nice. I was seated at the bar and the table to stool height was nice. The Not So Good: I was immediately put off by the location of the order line. It is directly in the way of where all of the staff have to pass back and forth from the kitchen. It was frustrating to have to try and read the tiny menu while also minding where I was standing. My order was unfortunately forgotten about. I was seated across from the young woman who ordered before me. Her food arrived promptly. 30mins later I still had not received my food and noticed other diners who had arrived after me being served. I went to the cash and asked about it. A few minutes later someone came to my table asking me what I had ordered as they didn't have any record of it being placed. Thankfully the cashier remembered me and I had paid with a card so could provide proof of purchase. I am not sure I will be returning but it was an ok place to stop for lunch.

The apple fritters make this place a destination and do not disappoint. You can order them ahead of time for take out in larger quantities. There's a great selection of coffees and other hot drinks. The staff are friendly and helpful. The inside is warm and comfortable but unfortunately it can get VERY loud. Parking is ok, on street or in the lot behind, but it's limited.

It varies, anywhere from 1-7 are available. Depends really how busy they are. Since the parking lot is shared with a yoga studio, I suspect availablity is linked to class times.

Super disappointed - no one at this place even knows how to make lattes. The milk was smoking hot. Latte milk is supposed to be no hotter than 65°C. Mediterranean sandwich was a total shame to the culture as well… nothing green in it. This cafe needs to reevaluate their service and quality. Servers did not once ask me if I needed anything, and one of them simply ignored me when I said “excuse me?…” Anyone who is a coffee lover is better off going to a random Starbucks. Overhyped location, terrible food, terrible service and they can’t even make a simple café latte.

I ordered the apple fritters one and a half dozen and I will never buy them again they had so much grease in them the grease ozed out between my fingers when I picked one up they used to make them fresh but the one I received were refried and were awful I was a faithful customer but I will never purchase them again. But I have had them freshly made and they are amazing and I don't know why they are pre making them and refrying them for take out orders. I have sat in to eat the food is amazing and a fresh fritter but take out fritters are terrible

I've passed by this place many a time and finally decided I'd pop in for lunch one day. Got a delicious grilled cheese with the roasted red pepper soup. They were offering a butter tart latte that I got with my lunch that I greatly enjoyed. For dessert I tried one of their apple fritters and it was excellent. Served nice and warm with some lovely cinnamon sugar on it. As I was leaving I grabbed a raspberry lemonade and more fritters to share with those at home. Lemonade was good, nothing special, but I still love a good lemonade!

Definitely one of the best cafes in Waterdown, and one of the more cleaner places. The atmosphere was set quite nicely, but the problems started with the service. They will ignore you until you specifically tell them you wish to order, and they will slowly come over. The food tasted quite nice as well, except there was a strand of hair under the sandwich, and the apple fritter was undercooked. I would recommend, and seeing the high ratings, this does not happen often, but this was simply my opinion of the place, will be coming back to see if they have fixed their mistakes.

  • Annette Myers

Semi warm latte, the Blueberry scone just tasted like Blueberry dough. Very weird service, I didn't appreciate being prompted for a tip before I received my food or being served. My friend and I dropped off our coats at a table before going to the counter to order when a server informed us that the two ladies in front of us were going to sit at that table. Apparently, after we order the server would tell us where to sit. So weird. We did not get a good vibe. I remember this place being better.

First of all, the apple fritters are to die for. They are a must if you go here. My friend and I split a sandwich, I believe it was turkey avocado and that was also amazing. The employee had recommended it as one of their most popular sandwiches and it was a wonderful choice. Their drinks are great as well, I had an iced chai latte which had just enough sweetness, although if you dont like sweetener in your drinks I would let them know beforehand. My friend said her iced latte was good. Everything was wonderful, no complaints here. I will definitely be back soon.

  • Carbon Lilies

On the suggestion of a friend, we met up here for coffee and a chat. We were thinking this was going to be a small town coffee shop with a few pastries and coffee and maybe tea. Far from it. This was a full blown café with different flavours and types of coffees, tea, hot and iced and all kinds of food. It was incredibly busy but we managed to find a table. Even though it was full inside, it still felt homey and was quiet enough we could chat comfortably. A great place to go.

A really good place to get a cup of coffee and the fritters are absolutely the best. I went Sunday morning, you can see a lot of people riding bicycle having a break here but the service is not affected for that. The tables are nice and the decor makes you feel warm. You will need to order at the bar and then they take your order to your table. Don't worry, the menu is not huge so you will easily find something good.

A couple years ago someone told me about the Apple fritters here… So I had to try them… They are amazing obviously! I just placed an order for a dozen fritters and I decided to get the avocado toast today! The avocado toast is very very good!!! So tasty ! Love it ! I will have to start ordering this every time I come out that way with my fritters! Yum !

Love the freshly made apple fritters (you can watch them while you wait). Love the environment and atmosphere. They're also known for their scones. Also enjoy the soup (they have a soup and scone combo, as well as soup and sandwich). They have their own house blend and espresso based drinks available. I enjoyed their brewed coffee! Perfect spot for a study or reading spot, or to catch up with a friend.

Nice rustic feel in sync with this cute little town. One of the few coffee shops where they serve you at table. Hot and fresh fritters are too good. The scone was yummy, one of the best ones I have ever had. Reminds me of the old family owned coffee shops. Must visit atleast once

Stopped in here for the first time after seeing the sign in the window about the famous homemade apple fritters. Couldn’t pass up an opportunity to try those and they didn’t disappoint! Fresh and warm with lots of juicy apples. I think they dusted them with sugar while I waited. Great atmosphere & friendly, prompt service. Highly recommended!

This is a lovely coffee shop. Very cozy and I noticed that a lot of locals come here. I tried their specialty coffee - Cortado with a shot of Caramel. It’s really good. Fresh coffee. I’m just a little curious why I couldn’t taste/smell the caramel shot. Not a hint of it in my drink, hence the 4 stars. But all in all, this is a great coffee shop. I regret not ordering their cones. I should have bought one to try it. Lol It’s cause I had a heavy breakfast prior my visit here. Would love to go back here again :)

  • Celeste A

Love the food and service here. Great staff! It’s always so busy though, be prepared to wait a bit to be seated. But, it’s worth it! If you’re looking for a place to sit and work in a coffee shop, the amenities are great, but you may be asked to accommodate for the busy times!

If u want a tip pre service. Then up ur prices and py ur staff properly. Places where u tip before u get served is ruining our culture. Put ur prices where everyone is happy. I didnt tip today and u purposely left my coffees out for 16 minutes before serving us with the fritters. I saw them there. Be a leader. U have a great spot. Pay ur staff more and remove tipping before service.

My partner Rebecca and I made the trip into Waterdown from Burlington to have our weekly Hemispheres Music Studio business meeting. We wanted to try someplace different and CK was recommended by a friend. Super relaxing, cozy space, plenty of parking w/good wi-if and friendly service. (Thank you Helene!) The apple fritters alone are worth the visit. We will definitely be back.

Basically a Brown Dog/ Coffee Culture. Disappointed since I was recommended this cafe by a lot of people from the area, but thats what I get for trusting Waterdown taste... just so bland. Wasn't impressed by espresso used in my drink. Was too sour/ acidic for a latte. The coffee roasters they use dont have any information on the coffee other than it's a "blend".... no bueno

Local staple in Waterdown, some of the best coffee and fresh baked pastries and desserts (especially the apple fritters). There's plenty of coffee choices, both dine in and take out. The pastries are freshly baked in house, and even have a small area for you to view. They also have some breakfast and lunch menu's.

Good, creative food for a Cafe. Prices are a little high, but I guess it's relative to it's quality food. It's got a uniqueness about it which is appealing for bite to eat with a friend. Big windows and a view of Dundas street. Not really a place for groups more than 4 or 5 bc the seating space for groups is pretty tight. Kid friendly, they have some children's toys in the back. I'll return.

  • Muktha Tumkur

A friend recommended this Waterdown Cafe and it is one of my favourites now. They make the best lattes and have a great selection of menu items for breakfast or lunch. They are famous for their apple fritters! Helen (the best) and the other staff are so friendly and customer service oriented. Six stars out of five! Been there five times since July and I am looking forward to going back.

Great cafe with a warm ambience and very welcoming staff. I removed one star only because while staff are generally very friendly the owner seems a bit less welcoming/friendly herself lets say which that doesn't take much away from their great employees and offerings including a nice variety of lattes. Just wish they stayed open a bit later specially on the weekends,

5 stars Cafe!!! MUST TRY- Honey Oat Latte - Rich and tasty, not too much milk but really smooth, a little honey taste bring it to another level. Another MUST TRY - Apple Fritter - I’m not a dessert lover, but I fall in love with this one, I don’t know how to describe, you really need to try it by yourself. Staffs are friendly and polite. I’ll be back, for sure

Waited long for the fritters. Need to make lots as they go fast. But still great place.

Amazing fritters, however 30 mins for 3 is a bit too much for me.
