This is a lovely park. My only issue with it is that the "orchard" that is all over the website as a place to visit and pick fruit seems to be completely inaccessible. I discovered this when I took my kids and a friends kid to check it out for a photoshoot along with a basket of apples as a prop so we wouldn't pick too many. The apparent orchard was fenced off with no visible way in and what we could see looked overgrown. Also the shed which is where the toilets are is only open for a few hours on weekends in the morning so not great for families heading to the park on the afternoons.

Great clean space with a little stream and 'wild' area, Shame there are no permanently open toilets though. Lovely cafe (with toilet) and kids playground, tennis courts, basketball court, ping pong tables and a skate park.
Playground
Lovely playground with equipment for different ages.
Restrooms
1 toilet but can only be used when the shed cafe is open, which is run by volunteers.
Dog-friendliness
Very dog friendly.
Picnic area
Plenty of benches but only a few picnic tables.

A lot of the pathways are not finished and can become very waterlogged and swap like they have added shredded christmas trees to alleviate the mud however we live nearby and its still impossible for us to take our pushchair because of the paths My neighbour who uses a disability scooter has the same problem. I think the friends of cotteridge park need to make this a target for their cocomad fundraising. And make the park accessible to all 12 months of the year

  • Craig Pickering

A very pleasant urban park. It is well maintained with footpaths to walk along and some open areas of grassland to walk through. There is a small car park. There is an extensive children's play area. There are some some free tennis courts too. The park is very popular with dog walkers. There is plenty of signage around the park with some reference to a Friends group for the park. See the attached photos for details.

What a great park! Such a variety of different spaces, it has a good kids play area, skate park, basketball court, tennis courts (if a little basic), wide open parkland area, wooded areas, plenty of benches and bins too. Beautifully kept and loads of community activities going on here as well. Not sure what's going on with 'The shed' cafe, seems closed down at the moment, but hopefully will reopen soon.

  • Rob

Beautiful park with a well built play area the forest is a cool place to run and hide with the kids... friendly staff at the shed, toilets are available there too, food and drinks also available at a good price to be fair... bigger kids have a massive field to play footie and there is also a basketball and tennis area which are well maintained.. or a skate park for the more xtreme child or adult..

  • Long Legs

Small suburban park with a circular tarmac path around the edges. Kids play area and a forest school for kids. Small growing area for locals who volunteer. Small brook runs through from underneath the road nearby. Several interesting boulders from Wales via the ice-age. Small car park. Flattened grassed areas which were bowling greens in the hey-day I think. Tennis courts now used for other uses.

This is such a beautiful park, and it's so well hidden. I think I prefer it to rowheath Park. My daughter absolutely loves it, it feels like a really safe place. She's only 2 so it helps that there aren't very many cyclists most of the time. There's a huge play area and a really nice cafe. I'm just so happy that I found this place, it's the nicest, cleanest park in the whole of Kings Norton.

  • Richard De Pass

A lovely big space with areas where you can feel intimate, or build a camp and wide open spaces to play frisbee with your doggee or children, have a picnic and a couple of beers. On this particular day, there were CoCoMad festival and the place was packed with food stalls, entertainments, things for adults and children and I believe there was some sort of dance competition going on too...

  • Travel & Explore

A great park that has a basket ball court, tennis court and a skate park area. It also has a play area with a little tea/ coffee shop close by. Has a path that runs all the way round the outside so good for dog walking, just walking or even jogging. On the hot days has plenty of grass area to relax and have fun with the family too. Has numerous entrances and road you can park on to get in

  • Fabia Davies

Pros: large space, well maintained, large children’s park, some sort of community club building (I didn’t enter,) skate park, basketball/tennis courts, benches, picnic benches literally everything a park needs (and more) + loads of free activities through the week such as strolls, Zumba, yoga and chess! Cons: skate park is small (not a real con I really had to think of something)

  • Anthonie Richards

It's a nice secluded park well away from the nearest main roads. It has a basketball and tennis court,a table for table tennis, a skate board park and a play area so it does have a lot of facilities. Theres a lot of grass big open spaces to play football or to chill on theres also a bit of forest to explore and paths to walk along...

  • Donna O'Sullivan

beautiful park loads going on for everyone the new addition the shed is fab Great prices, views and staff I cant wait to try more of the stuff you have going on especially the woodcarving for beginners :-) the swing fit now on a Saturday morning at 10am is great fun Great start to a super Saturday definitely worth a visit ☺

  • Kieron Hughes

Lovely wide open space on our door step. Very well maintained by volunteers. Very popular with dog walkers. A new cafe and toilets area under construction. Venue of the annual Cotteridge Coco mad, a free music and craft, food stall festival that's very popular. The end of the road is the Cadbury factory and the Cadbury estate.

  • R Gouthwaite

Great public park. Good path. Only problem we had was that we didn't see any signage to indicate that one path turns into steps making it difficult for some people to access it. Good children's playground. A bit noisy with the nearby train but great for kids who enjoy trains! Skatepark and kids playground are nice additions.

  • Kay West

Former clay pits give this park a switch back topography comprising open grassland, copses, good paths, a cafe hub and playground facilities - just about anything you would want from an urban park. Another dog walkers paradise for all seasons. Add numerous annual events and you have a park for the community.

  • Shona Currie

Lovely playground and really pretty park for nice walks. Other interesting features little ones love like living willow tunnels and wooded areas. No guaranteed toilets unfortunately as the building it is in is only open when volunteers run it. The coffee shop is lovely when it is open though.

  • Matthew Sexon

Great Park and run very well by the friends of cotteridge Park group. It has a children's play area, basketball court, tennis courts and a surrounding area for walks or a picnic. The pathways are well maintained and easily accessible, plus there is a car park upon ento the park.

  • Scarlett Emmalene

Love this place and Coco mad festival every year in July is brilliant and it's free. Emma Wolfe and the other rangers have done a fantastic job over the years and especially the gardening when my children were little my son Marky used to love it. Best Park around here by far

  • clara heanue

I go running here and it's a friendly environment. There are many dog walkers and people of all ages, enjoying the park's facilities. Lots of fun events and activities are held here, so there's a good reason to keep yourself posted on the park's Facebook page and website.

  • Clive Davis

Looks like a war zone this morning, with discarded sledges and full waste bins. An example of a good community asset being well used. I'm sure that within a couple of weeks it will be back to normal. Great for dog walking. Good play area. Excellent. Photo taken Sunday.

  • Jane Greenstock

Such a lovely local park which became even more of a haven in lockdown. Great amount of space and different sections to look at while walking. The hut (serving tea, coffee and ice cream) when up and running, is a great addition and the playground is a good size too.

  • Allan McKinley

A nice quiet park (other than when a venue for an event). Has a good little playground, small skatepark and tennis and basketball courts, but no facilities. Slightly hilly so maybe not the best for those with mobility problems. Nice for a morning run through.

  • iicxila

good park with lots of plain, green space along with a playground which is great for kids and a basketball court, tennis court. only thing which could use improvement is the skate park as it doesn't feature much and is relatively small and not very advanced.

  • Rhiannon Simpson

Great community space, arrived as cool ended so lots of folks of about...the sound of routine was music to my ears as children played on the ramp area, climbing frame, parents chatted and teens listened to music I didn't know. Not many photos taken though!

  • Chris Plant

This park used to be our local a decade ago and we still visit it for it's peace & tranquility. The annual July event: CoCoMad Music Festival is well worth a day out of anyone's year and you should make a date of it for next year. Top bands and top people!

  • Tommy Pritty

Our childhood park where we had great times. Football, tennis, basketball, playground, skatepark, woods, playing up the back by the train tracks and many events put on by the wonderful friends of cotteridge park group make this a great park to grow up by.

  • Michael Chukwuemeka Thompson

Good park..mostly but I feel there could be a bit more apparatus considering the amount of space they've got. Instead the council wasted their money on this weird pavilion. The only this gets a 4 star is because of the good basketball and tennis courts.

  • Jennie Wren

Fantastic park - great little play area and small skate park set in fantastic rolling grounds with a small wood. Loads of activities run the by the community as well. You can see and hear the trains from the play area too so great for little ones!

  • H Nichols

The park had dried out nicely after the winter mud! Great place for dogs and children with an area for doing tricks on scooters. Looking forward to the cafe reopening, it had a lovely open aspect, excellent for the way things are at the moment.

  • CN Heidelberg

Beautiful huge park with sledding hills, orchard, stream, playground, all kinds of plants, birds, and bugs. Activities are on all the time - running, tennis, forest school, Tai chi, picnics and camp outs, and the big one cocomad every year

  • Connor Pope

I really enjoyed listening to some community poetry reading from Bradley Taylor while having a great cup of coffee. The area is nice and peaceful and the people are kind and friendly. Exactly what a town in the outskirts of birmingham needs

  • Jon W

Small park but with lots of great features, really nice for a walk. If there's snow in the winter everyone comes to the hill in the south of the park for sledging. Last weekend we went to the Coco MAD festival there and it was great.

  • Brendan Callaghan

A lovely park to walk around. A great place to have a picnic in summer. It has the usual kids playing area, tennis courts and basketball. It also has skateboard ramps. It also the venue for the fabulous CoCoMad festival in July

  • Kate Hennity

One of the best parks in the area. Lots going on at the shed on lots of days (check the website for full details and daily breakdown) play area is great for kids and some eally nice walks through the small wooded area.

  • Patrick

Love this Park. Has a weird reputation but just ignore that, it's a perfect size, big enough to get away from it all but small enough to walk around in 10 mins. Free tennis. Play park. Wooded areas. It's great

  • Steven Parkes

Beautiful and well kept by the locals- large for games but great circular walking route and a kids activity play area - parking for 5 cars easily too a short walk from Bournville train station - heaven

  • Sarah Grant

Plenty of room for ball games and picnics. It has a basket ball and tennis court and a skate park. However the playground is old and boring. When we went there was a lot of teenagers hanging around.

  • Sally H

What a lovely park!! A few hills so great for the fitness, went round twice 1700 steps brisk walk. Play area and small Scateboard park for the children. Lots of dog walkers, really nice park.

  • Samantha “Sammyshortstuff” Evetts

I love this park and so does my dog :) grass, playground, small skate area ,woods, cafe and a stream,it's got it all as well as activities around the shed and on better years in the park area.

  • Ahmed Gadelrab

Lovely park. Very convenient for walking your dog or jogging for a quite long distance. However, the kids playground and other tennis courts require some serious maintenance.

  • Sarah Beckett

Beautiful park which has been much improved by the cafe and the use of toilets. I understand that once covid is over the little tea room will also be used for a youth club.

  • Parveen Bi

Really enjoyed it not too busy, had play area for children, has plenty of space for picnic or just to enjoy nice weather. Also a coffee shop if you want to get a hot drink

  • Edna Dawson

Brilliant park for all the family. Well kept by the friends of Cotteridge Park. Wonderful place to walk the dog. Great festival in the summer. Definitely recommend it.

  • Shahela Parvin

Lovel, peaceful park with a good community feel, they also have the shed which is actually like a team room so perfect to enjoy a cuppa whilst taking in the view.

  • Zarina Chughtai

Lovely park but due to lack of funding it's grass is overgrown and the park looks a little unkempt. Lovely place nonetheless. Lots of families and young people.

  • Hannah Bates

Great park! Please note no toilets but they are in the process of building a cafe. Very hilly but it is an amazing hill for sledging if it snows …

  • Keith Thomas

Lovely, well kept park. Great playground for kids, dogs welcome. Unfortunately no facilities, although I believe there are plans to build a cafe and toilets.

  • Emily Sexon

Great park which is a firm favourite with young and older children. Lots of lovely activities on throughout the year. Good park to jog in as quite hilly.

  • Ruby Roo

A little bit of litter here and there, the park could do with more bins around, but overall, the park is really great and kids have a lot of fun there.

  • James HOUGHTON

An island of peace and nature in a major British city. Kept and maintained by local volunteers, home of Cocomad Festival, very good vibes.
