I bought a Fruit Loaf yesterday CRIPPS ,advertised at $2.70, Coles charged me $5.20 for it. It seems that despite having the same coloured wrapper and the same position on the shelf and having a giant YELLOW sticker saying Cripps fruit loaf $2.70 I inadvertantley picked up the ""thinly sliced"" SMALLER 700 gm version which is why I was slugged $5.20. IF I had of picked up the 900 gm larger version of exactly the same bread I would have got it for $2.70. Guess who will NEVER buy Cripps bread again.I pity the poor refugees who have trouble reading. If it can fool me it can fool anyone. Complaint sent to Coles head office, reply pending. Mistake or scam ? I don't know , but never buying Cripps again !!!!!felt like an imbecile trying to reason with 2 Coles women , plus extremely embarrassing, felt a fool.

Woke up at 4am and flew from QLD to Hobart on no coffee, no food, had a slow getaway from the airport, and I was HANGRY. We saw the star rating on Cripps and decided that was our immediate destination and boy, did it deliver!!! The pies were a perfect consistency where the filling remained as filling while eating with flavours that were full and delightful, the pastry crispy. Exactly what you want in a pie! I had the chicken and Camembert party pie, and my husband loved the curried Scallop pie. We also took away a custard and a jam doughnut, which we later ate by the water in Kettering. Best doughnuts ever! Thanks Cripps you cured the Hanger.

Good variety of hot & cold, sweet & savoury food & drinks ☕ There are numerous tables/chairs if you would like to eat in & staff are friendly. Prices are what you would expect. They do a great special on their fresh jam donuts: 4 for $3.50. There are also: custard or Nutella donuts ($1.50 ea) plus fruit donuts with cinnamon sugar too My daughter enjoys their seasoned hot chips & gravy & also their cottage pies My newly found favourite sweet is the small fruit tart, which was absolutely to die for!!! Mmmmm!!!

Chips are good but pricey. Some staff are better than others. Went there earlier this week to get lunch for all the crew as we were working nearby, so after ordering, paying and waiting for the next batch of chips to arrive, someone who'd ordered after all of us waiting got served first and when I asked for a bag to carry everything in I got told bags are now 30c each, like seriously it's about half a percent of the value of the food I just bought and they can't even give you a bag to carry it all?

Great place, affordable prices and lovely staff, The only thing I didn’t like is where the hot food holder is during busy hours, when other customers are ordering food they are talking over and possibly contaminating any open bags of food that are sitting in the holder while the first customer is finishing their order. I really appreciated that the lady who served me kindly got me a fresh bag of chips and daywood dog. Thank you.

This bakery is close to great but there's a few downsides such as the facilities aren't to clean on the seat cushions have food in them and haven't been cleaned everyday. Another thing that I do not like about this place is the prices the prices have gone up so much it's actually disgraceful their chips are the best chips in Tasmania which is pretty damn good lol. I'm going to give it a 4 star rating

Bakehouse has been around for forever and is always packed - which is a sign that it's a favourite among the locals - great range in savoury food and sweet treats with something to suit everyone. Their fresh baked doughnuts and bread are delightful and the got chips with their special season salt is just one of the reasons I will keep coming back, no matter how far away I move!

  • Austin Mead

Staff are always excellent, but the foods always kinda dry, as if it's been sitting all day. Macron's are delicious, so is the flake cheesecake, BUT, think they are bought somewhere else, as they seem pre-packaged. Milkshakes aren't crash hot, but pizzas are really really good, would recommend but seems kinda inconsistent at best.

  • T D

Prices are great, staff are awesome ( I don't know how they deal with those rushes sometimes but they do a bloody good job), everything tastes good. Thank the heavens for those seasoned salt chips - they've helped me reach a level of spiritual transcendence that I wouldn't of been able to get with regular salt.

  • Jess Downham

Conveniently located bakehouse with a wide range of hot food, bread, and pastries. Service is always very prompt. The hot food can occassionally be a little stale from sitting around too long, but the chips with season salt are always really great. Doughnuts are pretty good. They are a great cheap little treat.

This place has some good good but at the same time it seems luke warm! Our chips were good but expensive and the quiche was burnt on the bottom! The cleaning and presentation left a lot to be desired! Cracks in the food counters are a concern id have thought and isn't a good look!

  • Pranay Mukhia

you guys are busy which is good however, need to respect the person waiting in the queue. my experience with you was poor as the gals served couple of customers who came instore after me. I did not appreciate it I am sure you would have felt the same. Need to be more systematic!

  • Emma Gallahar

13 customers In the store, even though their sign says 10 due to covid-19, I was asked to stay outside, which I did and 6people left than I entered with my children another 7 people entered behind me and they didn't say a word too them. Terrible, wouldn't go there again.

  • Nicole L. Johnson

Most unexpected somewhat oldfashioned style shopping. lots of choices. But little that is outstanding and memorable in the end... Good for snacks, like chips And pies and some nice takeaway, like quiches. Bread is disappointing, unless you like white fluffy stuff.

  • Matt S

The building needs a freshen up no doubt, however prices are reasonable. The salad wraps are great value & very filling. Can't comment on the greasy food, except the chips which seem good. Large range of cakes & slices which look like they would taste ok.

  • Gail Purcell

Well, Linda the manager of of Cripps Bakery Bellerive told me that people go into the Bakery and ask for all the chips that are over cooked with dark bad spots and some just plain awful and the customers love them what a joke that was her

  • Andrea Baldwin

Quick service from a lovely yo ujng lady. Lovely cappacino, I had a cheese and chive scone which was fresh, tasty and very light. My partner had a French vanilla slice, in his words was average, the custard was dry. A lovely spot to stop.

  • beege222

The seasoned salt chips are great but the prices keep sneaking up. You pay 5 dollars for what would 3 dollars worth of chips anywhere else and they overcharge for drinks more than any place I've seen. At least the staff are always nice.

  • King of Kings

Well may God bless these country place and help them continue Sausage roll had all the ingredients of pork. The donuts fresh and cream tasty. Coffee great. Love these places

Arguably best chips in Tasmania. The season salt is so poignant that one bite into that first chip has you coughing like a pack-a-day smoker. Always plenty of staff and food gets to you quickly. Cakes and bread top quality too.

  • TasView Photography

We reckon they have the best fish and chips in the world! Great bakery with a great range for takeaway lunch -plenty of lovely spots along the river close by to park and eat. Unfortunately they're not open for dinner.

  • Sue Gilchrist

  • Glenn Shirley

  • Elsa Smith

Amazing food, friendly staff. Went for a single jam doughnut, the best I have ever had, and came back the same day with the family. Best bakery in Hobart, I highly recommend a visit!

  • Bruce Maclean

Bought Jam Donuts, bread and sausage rolls - All excellent. Also tried a plain mince pie and it was well below average, so never again on that one; but will be back

  • Jason Ng

I'm so glad this bakery is within walking distance of my place, the massive amount of carbs I eat each visit gives me the fuel to zig-zag across the eastern shore.

  • Matthew McDonald

A nice bakery with a good range but without doubt they have the best chips in Australia with their secret seasoning. Worth a trip here wherever you're nearby.

  • Nuri PARK
