Great donuts and an excellent coffee. While visiting from the US I wanted to try out a local donut shop and I was not disappointed with Queens! I purchased a raspberry and traditional glazed donut and a white espresso. The espresso was delicious as were the donuts. They have a unique texture to them where they feel a bit denser than a standard donut but it totally works. It's like a sticky bun had a baby with cake donut and made these delicious rings of dough. The glaze was sweet and flavorful as well but the cake of the donut was the real draw. The staff was friendly and the shop is cute. Should I return to Hobart I would definitely come back and try out the filled donut selection. As a note my photo is taken back at my hotel not in the actual shop.

5 ⭐ for croissants – the plain croissant and Pain au Chocolat are up there with the best I've had, probably including the ones in France :) Multi layered crispy pastry on the outside and super soft on the inside. The almond croissant is more sweet than I enjoy, with a firm custard. 2.5 ⭐ for coffee, as it has such a mild flavour It tastes more of hot milk than a strong coffee flavour that I love. The croissants are made in small batches which means you can miss out, wait a few mins to get one straight from the oven (amazing), or be lucky to grab one from the display. They're baked three times a morning so are always fresh.

Yummy donuts and nice coffee. Service friendly. However, when relizing my coffee had a small chocolate on top of the lid as a treat I asked if it was possible to have another as I had two small children with me. The reply I received was, " Well you can this time but a once only as we spend over $300 dollars a month on freckles". Thinking that if you spend $25 dollars in store a small feckle would been ok to part with. Customer service, What a difference it would have been to notice two small children, and put two little freckes on the coffee lid! Or none at all! A little sometimes goes a long way.

I live around the corner from this place and wish it was better... I love croissants… I have had beautiful croissants in Copenhagen and Paris… these croissants are terrible. Do they know this? There are so many five star reviews that I feel like maybe I am crazy. They are always undercooked inside, the pastry at the centre is sad, greasy and soggy. I used to live with a baker who was a celiac. Is whoever is making these also unable to taste what they create? How else can one of your flagship pastries be bad for so long? The coffee is also always incredibly weak

clean and spacious, with some outdoor seating - this little artisan pastry spot was definitely something to be sought after as there were a few interstators when i got there as well as locals. they had an array of pastries and the varieties just made me want to try anything! i grabbed for the Raspberry Meringue Donut which was a delight! so soft and fluffy, however was a tad oily they had many other things on offer, even cronuts! would def head there again to try out more of their pastries!

Simply the best croissant I ever had in Australia. I tried several other famous place but this one make me feel like home. I had a plain croissant and a double baked chocolate croissant and it was fantastic !! I really recommend this place for every croissant lover or French who want to feel home again ! Moreover the staff is really friendly. Just get there and have a go, you won't be disappointed !

Queens pastry is a beautiful pastry shop with decedent and fluffy sweets. Traditional glazed and speciality donuts are their go too, I’ve heard they have nice coffee too for a morning tea! Staff were friendly, chatting and helpful. There is some parking out the front, mostly 15min/1hour. If in walking distance I suggest walking! Ps. Genius to have the baking times on display!

Over our 4 days stay in Hobart, my partner and I visited Queen's daily. The freshly baked croissants and pain au chocolat are simply delicious. For brekky or an afternoon treat, as a frenchy I can highly recommend this place for authentic french croissants and pain au chocolat - I tasted a few from different bakeries across Hobart but these were by far the best.

The pastries are always fresh. Staff are always nice. Big range of coffee sizes. Only negatives are I find the coffee can be average only, and it is a bit too popular. Can be a crowd before you. I do like that you get a freckle with your coffee and their loyalty card system is great.

Who doesn't love fresh croissants?! We got there just after 1030am and managed to get some fresh plain and ham and cheese croissants. The Ferrero Rocher chocolate croissant was still so amazing the next day. Quick and friendly service and cute decor. There's also several doughnut and pastry options to make your decisions even harder.

  • Roisin B

This is such a cute pastry store. The donuts are delicious and they have fresh croissants out of the oven at different times throughout the day. There's a small amount of dine in seating available. We grabbed a take away donut and coffee whilst doing our laundry up the road and really enjoyed them both! Friendly, easy going staff.

  • Nellie Dennis

Such a beautiful store! I’ve had their donuts from hill street before, finally decided to go to their actual store and was not disappointed! Everything was delicious and the staff were amazing. I have a service dog, the staff were so respectful! I wish more people were like them! We will be returning customers that’s for sure!!❤️

Was advised to drop in if I was in Hobart and not disappointed… great range of fresh pastries… friendly staff… small places to sit inside with good coffee… some tables outside too if Hobart weather allows… pain au chocolat was excellent and out of the oven in the 30 before I sat down for it… quite a lot of takeaways to locals

As a Melbournian: - Croissants were some of the best in Australia - Doughnuts were better than anything in Melbourne (including Daniel's Donuts, Goldilucks and Donut Time) - Coffee was very good, particularly the batch brew. Roast is a bit darker than what we're used to but very enjoyable and they know what they're doing.

Cozy and stylish little gem of a shop. Fresh, delicious pastries on display, minutes from the oven. The staff are friendly with smiles on their faces. You can have a seat inside to eat, or enjoy the Hobart breeze outside. Croissants are freshly baked at 0730, 0845, and ?1030 so come around then for maximum freshness.

We went back every day we were in Hobart. Between pigeon and queens our Hobart pastry cravings were very much met ;) Make sure you get in at bake times to maximize satisfaction. Fresh croissants can't be beat! Also great doughnut flavours... If you can fit one in after the croissant!

I stumbled on this little delight a few weeks ago and found the coffee to be one of the best in Hobart. The cruffin was amazing, sweet, light and filling. Really well priced I thought. If you don’t like cramped spaces and do like delicious food & coffee, Queens Pastry is the place.

  • Mimi

I love the croissants here. You will not be disappointed to try the ham and cheese, or the highly coveted almond croissant. They usually selling out by early morning. Baked with whole almonds, icing sugar, a filling of custard cream, a bit sweet for me but nonetheless amazing

  • Neal

Wow. If you like pastry, and you like sugar, this is the place for you. I don't really do sugar so the French croissants straight out of the oven were my choice. Amazing. Very friendly staff who were happy to explain it all. Tip: You wont need butter with your croissant.

  • Lily L

Came for the croissants and they were amazingly flakey and buttery. They come out 3 times a day on the weekend, time your visit right and they are still warm and crunchy. They do a really coffee too. Very limited seating, but most people eat and leave pretty quickly.

  • Maggie

Stayed down the block from this cute pastry shop !! Breakfast was made easy for me ;) the croissants were perfect, my favourite was the cream with chives as I’m a savoury morning person. The kids enjoyed the donuts. Most importantly coffee was made to perfection!!

  • Niko Pueblos

5 stars are not enough! Best doughnuts and croissants I've had in Australia, great coffee and amazing service. Only suggestion is to maybe get a few ceramic cups for people who have there coffee there instead of take away to further reduce single-use waste :)

  • Jarrin W

Was looking forward to coming here from the reviews. Craving a simple cinnamon donut which was unfortunately pretty average and my latte was burnt. Maybe just an off day but was visiting from out of state so probably won’t try this place again next time.

  • K Forster

We ordered cream cheese and chive croissants and they were fabulous. They brought back memories of home in the UK growing up on cheese and onion pasties. The only downside was that they were cold. A warm croissant would’ve made this a 5 star experience.

  • Susannah Mannie

I love going to Queens Pastry! The staff are always incredible, the coffee is amazing and don't get me started on the croissants (especially when they have been freshly made! You 100% have you try them warm!) 100% recommend this lovely little spot!

  • Appsolutely Outta Here

The best ham and cheese croissant I have ever had. We got there around the time they came out of the oven and it was worth it. We also had an almond croissant and 2 doughnuts as well while we were here. If your around this area definitely stop in.

  • Cameron and Adriana King

Ohh Mmm Gee! This place is to die for. Great array of freshly baked goodies to meet your every need. A must try, highly recommended. Freshly baked croissants 3x daily in the AM to ensure there are plenty of offer warm, fresh and soooo tasty.

  • Levi Dance

Its called Queens "Pastry", but far out their coffee is good too. Its always silky smooth and comes with a chocolate freckle. The pastry is definitely priced on the higher end, but you pay for what you get - top quality. Big fan of Queens

  • Joshua Mann

Early Monday morning was searching for nice coffee and some pastry, found Queens pastry and hit the jackpot. Exceptional almond croissants, non pretentious staff/building and high quality coffee. A great surprise. Highly recommend.

  • Kabir Arora

Friendly gal behind the counter. Helpful. Fresh pastries, the cinnamon croffin, donuts & monkey bread all are epic They have special just out of the bake times as well for hot ones. Coffee is decent too

  • Samantha Milburn

Delicious and fresh donuts! They sell out on the regular (cause it is so amazing!!) So call and pre order or get in quick after their daily bakes to make sure they still have what you want! Beautiful cinnamon donut!!

  • Sabrina Hulse

Worth the walk uphill, service was amazing. We had the lemon curd, raspberry glazed and Apple crumble donuts paired with milkshakes on a hot day. Recommend for good pastries with a huge variety.

  • Bubbles T

Went there at 8am and there was no queue. The almond with custard filling is a standout for me. Saying that, there are better in Australia. Probably the best you can get is Tassie. …

What a genuinely great bakery! The croissants and donuts are delicious, the staff are friendly, it’s quaint and well organised and incredibly well priced. One of our Hobart highlights!

  • Dante

Amazing croissants. Be sure to get in while they are still warm. The donuts are super soft. They make a great coffee too and they have oat milk available if that's your sauce.

  • Bonnie

The fresh ham and cheese croissants straight from the oven were so delicious - light and crispy. Donuts and coffee were also a hit but the croissants were the real star!

  • Meg W

Tried this place after seeing it on tiktok, pastries were okay but definitely didn’t live up to the hype. The cinnamon twist was the best out of things I bought!

  • Kylie Holland

Fresh pastry, cooked at different times throughout morning. Loved getting the Halloween themed donuts and cruffins for morning tea at work this morning More

Pastry is really good, just make sure you go after their baking hours. Doughnuts are simple the best ones by far. Cookies and cream…..to die for!!
