This isn't so much a review of the store itself, but more so of the website and the company's customer service. I have not had an enjoyable experience with Décathlon (the company) thus far. While I have not had a chance to purchase anything from Décathlon, this is largely due to the ordering system on the vendor's website and is the basis of my review today. The website will only allow its customers to purchase equipment as it becomes available - and it is almost always quickly snapped up - as opposed to allowing customers to pre-order the desired equipment and have it delivered as it becomes available. The amount of times I have attempted to complete the process - from the moment I receive the email notification that my desired item has become available, visited the website, added it to my cart, and proceeded to checkout only to be told it was no longer in stock - has been frustrating to say the least. I have inquired as to whether there are any ways around this - whether I could place an order in person or over the phone for when it is in stock, but have been told it is only available on a first-come-first-serve basis. I can understand the high demand and lower supply that has resulted from the Covid-19 pandemic, but I do not understand why I can *only* order a particular item once it is in stock as opposed to ordering it on backorder and waiting for it to be shipped when it is available after all orders before mine have been filled. Truth be told I have heard only positive things about this Décathlon location and the equipment they offer - and I still plan to purchase what I'm looking for when my order finally goes through - but my experience so far with the company as a whole has been less than positive.

Bought a treadmill with Decathlon in Feb/2022. Pieces went missing which prevented me of assembling it. had to drive 50km to the store to pickup the missing pieces. Within less than 2 months, Bluetooth stopped working. Opened a ticket with customer service. took them 2 MONTHS to reply to me saying that they CAN'T do anything and that I should DRIVE the treadmill to the nearest store and check with the store a solution. I bought the treadmill ONLINE and I can't drive this massive piece to the "nearest store". TERRIBLE customer service. TERRIBLE. Here is the email took them 2 MONTHS to get back to me. After this email they just STOPPED answering my emails. _______________________________________________________ Unfortunately, we do not have a remote repair solution suitable for your (product), only a physical diagnosis carried out by a technician would give an overview of the (problem). Solid shop, great alternative to the big box sport stores. I've started checking Decathlon first for a baseline price, and then shopping around, but I often end up back here. If you're new to an activity and not quite willing to invest in big name gear, or if you're buying for kids who will outgrow it, I highly recommend. Otherwise there are some things here that are at least as good as more expensive competitors, so it's worth a look. Examples: If your kids are new to karate, a $15 gi should do fine until they outgrow it or decide karate is not for them. My son was going through 2-3 sizes a year, and never had time to wear them out. In that situation, Decathlon gear is perfect! Adults, I wouldn't bother. The thin material won't stand up to what you're likely to put it through; martial arts uniforms may be the only clothing kids are easier on than grown ups. Boxing/kickboxing/Muay Thai - check out the hand wraps at Decathlon. The 4m ones are GREAT, and the price is half what comparable quality will cost you elsewhere. Shorter versions are cheaper again, and if you're doing cardio kickboxing and pad work exclusively (no heavy bag or contact sparring), you can't beat $6 for these. Microfiber towels for backpacking/gym/pool - prices are a third of comparable product elsewhere.

Aside from the low quality products (you get what you pay for) and their extremely poor customer service, they deceive you online into believing their fake discounts and low prices. However, once you go to their store none of the discounts you’ve seen online are available. Just today I saw a pair of ski pants %50 off, went to the store (‘cause surprisingly you couldn’t buy it online) and the store price was at no discount. They gave me a bunch of nonsense excuses and refused to honour their prices. I won’t even bother talking about their uninformed staff that know little about various sports, who will misguide the customers. Update: thank you for your response. I give you the same answer I gave in person: if you claim these are different products, your flyer should specifically mention that. Besides, I should be able to find the product you have in store on your website, since that’s supposedly a different product at a different price. This wasn’t the case and your colleagues searched the web and couldn’t find the pants at the price offered in the store.

30 minutes to lose a customer... After years of riding fixed gear, I am looking to buy my first road bike. They have a few 105 options, and I wanted to leave with a bike on the roof of my car. I've never been to Decathlon before, but I have heard good things, so I wanted to give them a try. I went in, cash in pocket to buy a nice road bike, and walked straight to the back where all the bikes were. I waited for 30 minutes without a single employee even acknowledging my existence. Not a single "hi" or "let me know if you have any questions" or anything. It was obvious I was interested in the bikes as I was looking at them, even touching them. There were a couple of people working on bikes that knew I was there but didn't talk to me. The 4 customers that came in after me were helped with no problem. Customer service is really important to me, so I'll be going somewhere else to get my bike, even if that means spending a little more. That was ridiculous. This was my first time there, and it will be my last. Disappointing.

Worst self checkout system I’ve seen in any retailer. There are too many steps just to checkout and pay. This store has no checkout with a live person. It’s a slow process to pay and leave the store. The first time I used their self checkout the displays on all the checkouts were French and I couldn't figure out how to change the language to english because I couldn't read the display so the attendant had to takeover and finish the checkout for me. Second time the system was just screwing up and not allowing me to complete the purchase. What a hassle. These self checkouts at Decathlon are not user friendly like at the grocery store self checkouts. Some other buyer needed the attendant when I was there because they had problems too. This is the only sporting goods store I've been in Ottawa that doesn't have a person to run your purchase through the cash yet they will pay an attendant to stand there and watch to make sure you aren't stealing. Ridiculous customer service Decathlon......

Decathlon Canada is a very good outdoor equipment store. Without a doubt they are making outdoor activities much more accessible to Canadians with their good gear at very good prices. When they first opened in Ottawa I was leery about the quality of their gear, but if you follow their general gear ratings (level 100 novice/occasional use, level 500 intermediate/regular use, and level 900 is their top stuff) their gear is very good. I have bought skis to socks and golf balls to beach chairs and lots technical outdoor wear and I have been very happy with it all. When their gear is on sale it is VERY well priced. In terms of ethically produced gear they are no Patagonia, but on their website they are clearly taking some baby steps to make their products sustainable and ethically sourced. Both their on-line ordering and return policy work well and they stand behind their suff. Glad they came to Canada.

This was my first time shopping here and I have to say some of the employees are really lazy and arrogant. I chose an item I wanted to purchase and waited patiently at the self-checkout lane. There were too many people standing in line. I looked around and saw a cashier station where there were two employees chatting. One left the station. The other one (blonde guy) was scrolling on his phone doing nothing. I asked him twice if 'this was the cashier station'. He ignored me the first time. The second time he told me that I can go to self-checkout. Why would I have to go stand at a crowded self-checkout section when there are employees who can easily get off their phone and scan my goods? It doesn't make sense. If they are too arrogant to help a customer, you don't need them working there. Period.

Great products, reasonable price, nice lay out of store and the best staff-Pim, Param and William. Thank you very much. Small feedback, please fix your account issue. My update in regards account issue below. The responsiveness of the application is lacking, as I am unable to access my purchase history through my account. The main issue seems to be that the application's backend is not sending API calls to the UI side/front end, making it difficult for customers to view their purchase history. As a result, customers are resorting to calling and inquiring about their past purchases. I would like to see that the IT department address the functionality problems of the application. I am a loyal customer and would appreciate a resolution to these issues, so your business grow faster.

By far the Best sport equipment store in Europe. Every time I go skiing in the French Alps, I shop at Décathlon for my gears and accessories. Back in Portugal last year we got all the nautical sport gears we needed for the family at a great value. Decathlon design, manufacture and distribute a whole range of sport equipment and accessories for every age and sport. The choice is amazing The products are great design, technical, stylish and optimal quality at a incredible value price. You can try material in store like soccer shoes on their astro turf and also after purchase their return policy is outstanding and give you a full confidence in your purchase. For sport equipment Décathlon really offer a superior customer experience. So happy to have a store in Ottawa !

We brought a tent and a propane canister. They said they would take the can that was 12$ but said they would not give a refund on the tent. We bought it maybe 1 to 2 weeks ago and only opened it maybe 2 times to see how it looked. This was because we were about to be homeless. Then we got a place by a stroke of luck so we wanted to return it for a refund. Especially since we are on odsp and broke with no food to eat. They said no because apparently their was a little "dirt" on the inside and they also claimed that it smelled bad even tho we didn't use them those two time more than a few minutes. But for some messed up reason they offered a full "refund" in a gift card. What an insult to me and my brother. I am putting this place in my never go back list.

I had a great experience with a super helpful red-headed staff member at the bike shop. I came in needing help with flat stroller tires, since my husband had just replaced them with their inner tubes a few days prior. The staff went above and beyond to help solve the issue and didn't mind my kids being the peanut gallery while he worked. I also had some other helpful staff with finding other items, including appropriate workout shoes (I didn't realize there was a difference between runners and other types for aerobics). The prices were surprisingly affordable and the store space is airy, clean, and well-organized. Bathrooms also were big enough to pull in a chariot-style stroller and very clean. Good job, Decathlon Ottawa! I'll be back.

On behalf of Anthonette Jacob, the Executive Director of the African, Caribbean & Black Wellness & Resource Centre; We at the African, Caribbean & Black Wellness & Resource Centre, have had the pleasure of working with DECATHLON and have found them to be nothing but helpful. The staff is second to none and we have always been met with smiles and the help we need. The way the store is set up makes sense as it makes it easy to find what you are looking for. All this to say, from the sales associates to upper management, we have never had a bad experience. Their pricing is also great, having an amazing selection of new on sale equipment makes outdoor fun accessible to a lot more adventurers.

This shop hasn't stopped surprising me! Aside being indeed Costco look-alike when it comes to sports equipments, the staff equally gives an awesome client service most often than not. I passed by again yesterday Aug 11, 2022 to get a padlock for my beautiful bike I bought from them earlier. This wonderful, kind, patient and amazing man, Gary, went the extra mile first by giving me the best advice on the choice of the lock, and most surprisingly got me an accessory (paid from his pocket) needed to help secure the lock on the bike rack. This is really above and beyond service . Much appreciated, Gary . Keep up the good work and God bless and richly reward your kind heart

  • ayni ceylan

I thought it was a big corporate store. But it wasn't. The size of a store is obvious when there is a problem..2 months ago I bought 2 kids bikes for my daughters, one of them broke .store said it might be manufacturing defect problem and outoff stock . but you can still use it this way. . I want my bike that I bought 2 months ago ı want to be like the first day. It still has a guarantee. IKEA changes it within 1 year even if it is a customer wrong . they are a big company. I hope you will be a big company. You give a guarantee to the products you sell and you stand behind them. I hope Dechatlon train your own staff on how to learn how to behave your customers learn how to behave

Been in and out of here a few times and always left happy and having spent less than anticipated (yay!) BUT today I want to make special note of their resident Bike Wizard, Dave. I came in for what was a relatively minor concern (I'd installed a new panier rack but compromised my rear brake in the process) and right off the start Dave was super kind and enthusiastic, despite it being near end of day. Service was quick and he even came to find me when my bike was ready. Not once did I feel silly for coming in (there are a lot of bike snobs out there). I won't hesitate to return if I ever have questions or need help, and encourage others to as well :) thank you!!

Bought a couple of bathing suits earlier this season. Price was very affordable! Staff was friendly. Went back recently and bought a blow up Kayak on sale >$350. Good price. Awesome item. Comes with fins for the bottom to help with tracking. Staff was very knowledgeable about the product. Up sold a pump ... but I really needed it! And it fits in a knapsack that weighs 30 lbs. Not to mention it is very comfy. There is even an accessory motor that can be purchased that fits into a fin slot. I have done a lot of kayaking in my day. In my opinion, this Kayak is well worth the price. Can't wait to get it on the water!

  • 0001 0000

The 365 return policy is a joke. They wouldn't give me a full refund on a $750 bike because of a scratch on a pedal (okay fair, but easily replacable for $50 tops) and their other reason was that the bike's purchase price is now $100 lower than when I bought it. They offered me $550 for it. So based on their own logic, had the price gone up $100, does that mean I would be entitled to an $850 return?! No, because that's not how economics works. The guy was literally trying to haggle with me. Update: The manager Andrew is the worst. Total Napoleon complex, snippy and annoying personality. A male Karen.

My new favorite store...SportChek doesn't carry a quarter of what Decathlon has....and all the staff are delightful, and focused on giving you a great experience....kudos to Gary, such a nice employee and just full of useful info. Second, third, and fourth visits completed....staff are all very helpful and endearing.... Always a great destination for anything outdoors... Equestrian supplies?....I'm telling you....pretty much all sports are covered here...I'm using their products, will review the quality and ruggedness after about 6 months...and I use my equipment....I used it on the reg

  • Ludovic Potvin

EDIT: the store has contacted me to issue a refund and appologize! They told me they are having trouble with their telephone system and are working on fixing it. Glad to see they are taking customer satisfaction seriously! Rating has been modified accordingly! I have been trying to reach the store for a whole week and nobody ever answers the phone. I want to cancel a click and collect order but seems like the only way to do that is to go directly to the store which is ridiculous because it is going to cost me more in gas than the price of the order i'm trying to cancel...

  • Melanie Monfils

This is the second time I visit this place and the staff is very friendly and always ready to help. While trying on some coats, my friend thought he had his own coat (with his cellphone and cards in his pocket) stolen or misplaced. Everyone was there to help search the store but the hero of the hour was a member of the staff named Pankaj who, with his own cellphone, was able to locate my friend's cellphone, and coat. We were very thankfull for everyone who helped us!! I love the quality of their products, and the prices are very reasonnable. I will definitely be back!!

  • Scott Birksted

This is an amazing store. Based out of France, your closest comparison is MEC... If they only sold their own brand but for a staggering plethora of sports. Decathlon designs and manufactures all their own equipment then sells direct to consumer, for really affordable prices. They make sports equipment for so many niche sports that have no alternative to high end; Horse riding? Ballet? Diving? Field hockey? Australian rules football or whatever? Yep. They have a bike x ski x skate repair center on site. They have a cafe. They also have some onsite sports facilities.

  • Danielle Laliberte

Best sport store ever! Amazing, friendly and unique customer service. Unfortunately, we did not get the name of the young French lady who helped us with the purchase of a Domyos EB520 Exercise Bike on Monday, July 11th - she was amazing and extremely helpful. Our experience at this store was exceptional starting with the young lady and the other person who helped her with the loading of the bike in the car to the cashier who helped us with the free subscription and our invoice. Best shopping experience we've had in a long time. Thanks again!!

  • Codi Barber

I was calling around looking for inflatable kayaks at every location because they were sold out online, thankfully I spoke with Thomas Faugier from the Ottawa location and he helped me get my hands on one by personally delivering it to Toronto within two days. I was very impressed that someone would go out of their way to help me like that. He's a awesome guy and definitely worth shopping at this store/location, not to mention the kayaks are fantastic quality. Since then he has also helped two more of my friends acquire kayaks in Toronto,.

  • Melanie Bougie

I love this place and most of the staff speak French which is great as I am! They offer a price point for everyone and have a very vast variety of everything you need for outdoors and sports! Love everything I have purchased here and the returns have been easy and pleasant! I find the sizing is sometimes odd but could be my body that's weird!! :D Buying online is a bit harder because of that but returns are very easy. We just bought one of their inflatable kayaks! Tons of technical clothes for hiking and are very happy with everything!

  • Jeremy Tsui

I was excited to see Décathlon in Canada after visiting them in Europe and South America. I can say that the options are limited and doesn't have sticker prices on many products. The camping items were lacking and missing a lot of items. For example, I was checking out the camping lights. There was a comparison chart with 5 or 6 lights but only 2 were in stock. This could be distribution issue but I hope they rectify this to be on par with France's. I did find their prices to be a bit higher than the EU and Colombia's.

  • Michael Spencer

Okay so since you are looking for more details I can respect that. I can't honestly place anything that would make a 5 star for a chain location because by definition it is against brand policy to be different. I loved the store and layout. I was pleased to see the discount section. The staff was helpful and overall the experience was positive. If it had been the average experience I expect at decathlon I would review 3. Since I can't give 4.5 I gave four. You are doing great things and should take pride in that.

  • Sylvia Lewis-Havard

really good selection and very reasonable prices. we went around Christmas and it was a bit picked off (they were out of swimming caps, for instance). the self-checkout is amazing, it's just a bin that you dump your stuff into and it scans everythign -very user friendly. We didn't see too many people actually working in the aisles of the store but again it was just before Christmas so understandably busy. we managed to get my mum a swim suit in December so that was a great sign and they had a decent selection.

  • Steven Macarthur

i actually was going to let this go, but i need to share, i bought items online they charged my card five times, after a few days and many calls i did get credit for 4 of the five. infact the operator ask me to pay again for my package, which i replied are you crazy you just took it five times, operator then realized i had another payment the fifth one so they said the product is coming, "I AM STILL WAITING for product" and they still have my fifth payment .so please go to the store don't buy anything online

  • Rylan Hempell

Came here on my lunch break just to check out the store. They’ve got everything here! They seem to stock their own brands only and prices seem very fair. I tried on some soccer and climbing shoes during my visit and although the quality doesn’t appear top tier, it’s definitely good value for the price. They even have the facilities/equipment to try their products before you buy. Oh and there’s a cafe if you need a snack or some rest while you shop. I’m glad we’re getting more variety in Ottawa.

  • Elizabeth Blois

The staff is friendly. However it seems to be more of a hang out for the local teenagers as there is basketball, rock climbing, badminton ect. All good gives them something to do.. but as I'm walking to the cash to pay for my item I get smacked right in the face near my eye with a badminton ball!!!! I'm not impressed at all and will be contacting management!! You shouldn't have to dodge balls to get to a cash to pay for your item!!! This is the one on St. Laurent Blvd in Ottawa!

  • Martin

I would say it's really lucky to have decathlon in Ottawa. They provide the best value for either skiing maintenance or bike accessories. And Julien is really helpful all the time. A representative for the sprit of Decathlon. I would say Decathlon beats most of the sports shops in price and with good quality products. For getting into a new sport, I would highly recommend visit decathlon before visit other stores. They provide excellent entry gear even high-end gears.

  • Bill Ray

This store is HUGE. There is a section for virtually everything from golf to equestrian sports. This chain is huge in Europe and many of the brands may be new to Canada but the quality is good and the prices are very reasonable. This site has a bistro, a sports floor and a small climbing (Bouldering) trial area. The washroom was clean and is accessible, the isles are wide and the site doesn’t feel cluttered. Give this location a try, you will be happy you did!

  • travelswithadiplomat

I rushed down here on basis my cycle friends enthused about the advent of this Quebec retailer finally arriving in Ottawa. And was disappointed. Primarily due to my false expectations. I thought there would be high end cycle gear but it's not that at all. Two manufacturers at best, the entire place is a cheap bulk gear place for all sports. Which is great if you need some cheap seasonal stuff or are a starter at the exercise of choice. Prices are very good.

  • Jennifer Gresham Deans

If you value customer service, this is where you should be shopping! Thomas went above and beyond to help me find what I was looking for and get it to me under difficult circumstances. He was patient and persevered when it took a few more steps than usual to get me the scooter I wanted. He was in constant communication with me and didn't rest until he was able to satisfy my request. An overwhelmingly positive experience during a challenging time.

  • Keiran McCormick

My favourite sporting goods store! I’ve been sharing with my friends about how amazing of a store this is with the variety of products and affordability. Went in tonight looking for a bike to buy in the future and associate Dave helped me pick out the perfect one for my athletic needs and within my budget. His service was the deciding factor in me coming back to buy a new bike from here and not from another sporting goods store/bike shop!

  • Jen Balon

First time customer today, and I was super impressed by the variety of sports needs covered. Plus, the customer service and help received with your sports equipment was amazing. Rosalie was so knowledgeable and patient with getting me started on my horse gear. Loved the price points here as well. ❤️ I went through a cashier (versus self checking; I like to support jobs) and she was friendly and helpful too. I will be back!!

  • Gab Kn

Been there for the first time and all I can say is wow. If you like sports and outdoors activities they have everything! They even have an area to eat. Play hockey or soccer. And they have amazing prices! MEC just got a new challenger and I’m all about it! The staff is super friendly and are bilingual! I had a great time! The only thing was all the kids going around on bike and scooters but I don’t see it as their fault.

  • Hamza Benhalima

The worst sport shop in Ottawa. If I can give 0 star, I will do it. Very poor After sales management and Customer service. The staff is arrogant and not helpful at all. The manager is worst. I was buying from Decathlon during the last 10 years in many countries, France, Belgium, Romania. The Shop of Ottawa is the worst that I have seen ever. If you may avoid it and buy from Canadian Tire, don't hesitate to do it.

  • Ad_vent_ur_iste

I was here to get some bike accessories. Great collection n customs service. I ordered an item online which wasn't right fit for my bike. And when the store opened for in-store shopping, I was in there and Aleksey, helped me by suggesting right products tailored to my problem. I was a very happy customer end of the day. I callout for Aleksey. Thank you Aleksey for presenting great customer relationship.

  • Denim Rampal

Decathlon from my viewpoint is one of the best places to buy any sports related equipment's. Went there to buy the ice skates which we're very reasonably priced and good quality. Excellent customer service as expected. There are small indoor grounds/areas where your can play basketball, football, pingpong and badminton. Overall it's a great place. One stop destination for everything. Thanks Decathlon.

  • R B (Rizbaltech)

Got a 30L backpack there, had to return it the day after because it was too small. Otherwise would have been a great backpack. It fit a sleeping bag, sleeping mat, clothes, sunglasses, water shoes, first aid kit and food for 3 days, but no room for a cook kit, camera, and tent. They weren't selling winter jackets that I will need for end of August. Otherwise quick returns and nice items but limited.

  • Raphaël Papiccio

Excellent experience time after time. Incredible prices, selection and quality. These guys do retail right. They have gear for niche sports as well as clothing and gear suitable for different types of weather conditions. Sizing is accurate and cuts are flattering. Did I mention the customer service? It's exceptional. They are now my de facto sport store. I would not consider ordering anywhere else.

  • Sally Thomas

Love that Decathlon gives space to community organizations offering sports programs! Was my first class at Boxing Without Barriers. Could have done without the astro turf...and getting in & out of the space we were using was a challenge, with about a half inch lip to navigate. For some, it might be too much of a challenge. Didn't see the point of either. Need to consider changing that up somehow.

  • P B

Web site says they are open Saturday at 10am. Tried calling at 10:30am, the answering service provided a bunch of options. However, when I tried half a dozen of these options, they led to all having a phone ringing, only to be disconnected after 15 rings. Strange phone service, if they are forcing people to make an in-store visit, I am not impressed with their business model. P.

  • Piyush Jain

A great place as always, with a huge variety of all sporting goods that you could want. We wanted to purchase skates and gloves, and Param really helped us out by going through multiple sizes, trials and tests. He spent a lot of time on us, regardless the amount we were spending, and helped us get us all the information regarding our purchases. I absolutely recommend this place!

  • Vianna Lin

I would like to thank one of the staff members, Rezika, who understood and answered all our inquires about the product with great enthusiasm and care, and reminded us of what we should pay attention to, and repeatedly helped us confirm the product details. It was the best shopping experience I've ever had, and she’s the best staff I've ever met. Perfect shopping experience.

  • Libby Hsiao

I had high hopes, but in the end it felt like a Walmart for outdoor and sports equipment of sorts with kids running rampant. Don't get me wrong, I think it's great families can get equipped, active and outdoors without costing a fortune. However, the lack of supervision of kids trying out the equipment and running is just a bit overwhelming.

  • Nael Alsaffar

Just beginning to get into road biking and had very little knowledge about the equipment and necessary fixes. Julien helped me for almost 2.5 hrs and was extremely helpful and informative. This guy deserves a raise I had the best shopping experience ever. Can't wait to pick up my bike after the full service to be done. Julien is the man!

  • Josie Vanderkamp

I went to Decathlon because a friend recommended trying to find a sports bra here. I was not disappointed. The store is massive and has fantastic selection. I especially like that things are easily priced and explanations are written on each product. If you are in need of any kind of sporting wear or equipment this is the store for you!

  • J. Michael Cherry

Nice enough store. Packed to the nines with sports stuff which I'd have loved to look over. Was trying to find something specific, but got bounced around a few times before someone actually checked to see if it was in stock. But I've only been there once and it was really busy (right before a lockdown) so keep that in mind when reading.

  • wis gal

My mini schnauzer barked once and the manager dress up like crocodile Dundee told us that he received complains that the dog was barking at employees and customers. He barked of excitement and not to anyone. There were maybe 10 customers? We left the store of course and never come back Again. I thought crocodile Dundee loved animals!?

  • Leanne B

The manager Eric is incredibly rude. The absolute worst customer service experience of my life. He gave me a hard time about the return I needed to do (my sons shoes ripped within a week) and once he knew I was getting frustrated (because I asked for a manager) it seemed to make him happy to continue to be rude and difficult with me.

  • Ali Vaseghnia

Huge store with a wide variety of sporting goods at great prices. The customer service can be misleading as they said they don't have a particular bike I was looking for and it turned out they did when I went to the store the same day. When I went in store, Julien was super helpful and made sure I get the best shopping experience.

Great place with really helpful professionals. Had some problems with a bike that I bought, and they fixed it no problem. Fairly priced items all around so great place to pick up some gear for a sport you're just getting into. I've been relying on a decathlon bike for commuting for almost 3 years now and it's been very nice!

It’s like a Sail/large sporting good store combine with an IKEA! Price for items increased as the sport skill level increases. For example, a beginner/thinner fabric item will cost $10-20, whereas an advanced item could run from $60-80. Large variety of items, and helpful staff. One of my favourite stores in the region!

  • Norman Marcotte

Large store that covers a wide variety of sports. The staff was very helpful at helping me select some skis. Although the variety of skis was limited, the quality and the price was great for beginners. We love to shop for sports equipment and clothing there as it is difficult for other stores to beat their price.

  • Alexander Koundakjian

Excellent quality sports equipment. Reasonable prices . Kids can try equipment on location. There is a small rock climbing wall, rollerblade area, cafe, kids were riding bikes inside store. Tons of sport choices. Not sure how but the had clearance items already and introductory offers. Excellent friendly staff.

  • Andrew Asgar

This store is the best for all your sports and outdoor needs. The staff are always professional, kind, and helpful. I especially have to say Dave the bike tech who helped fix my bike, and Gary who helped me purchase eye bike gave some of the best customer service ive ever had. Id highy recommended coming here!

  • Stephanie Doell

Someone went IKEA on sporting goods, and out popped Decathlon. Wide-open layout, demo products out, easy to find what you are looking for if it is in stock, and everything clearly labeled. Most products go up to size 2X in selected colors (i.e. mostly black). Café. Mini climbing wall. A pleasant place to shop.

  • Video Expert

Decathlon has some great offerings across a range of prices. Lots of opportunities to try things out in the store, rink, basketball course, badminton nets, kids rollerblading, climbing on the wall and riding bikes. Very cool, automated "drop box" checkouts. Definitely recommend for families with young kids.

  • Naghme

It was an amazing store! I went there to buy ice skates for the first time. I knew they had some budget friendly items, unlike Sportcheck! The sales assistant who helped me , Yassir, was super helpful, friendly and patient which made my experience amazing, at Decathlon. I will come back for sure

  • Brandon Poole

Always a treat to go to Decathlon. Friendly staff and one of the only stores I can just take my bike inside while I shop . I always go in for one or two things, but end up finding something else to grab. The self checkout is also a fun experience. Easy to just drop everything into a bin and go.

First time to this store (Ottawa location). Sales associate named Gurdit was excellent! He answered all my questions, gave me great advice on different choice of products (Trekking Poles). Very happy and satisfied with my purchase. I will definately return to this store ! Thank Gurdit ! …

I witnessed a cashier at this establishment being extremely rude and aggressive to a customer that was simply and kindly trying to return a shirt. The customer looked very uncomfortable by the way she was treated. The actions by this staff member were absolutely horrendous and unacceptable.

  • dharani dhur

I did not receive the tracking details of my order. When I reached the customer assistance in 8mins 21 sec , the representative solved the issue and suggested me that I will receive the email when the order is shipped in together. Amazing and super fast query resolving

This place is your Costco when it comes to sports. Quite dangerous if you go alone as you might end up spending much more than anticipated. Goods are fairly priced and of great quality. They cater to a lot of sports. Their bikes are awesome and their staff are knowledgeable and friendly.

  • Aidan Blake

Decathlon is a great sports store for every sport imaginable. They have name brand products as well as their own cheaper and high quality products. Their selection is always great as far as size colour and style. They also have different testing areas to test equipment before buying it.

  • Cody Lanois

I usually bring the kids here to run around because they have a little gym in the corner for the kiddos but now they closed it because other people and there kids do not follow the rules which instead of banning or kicking them out they just close it completely which ruin it for others.

  • Jiaheng Xu

Eddie at the bike area is awesome. He is clearly passionate about mountain biking and is willing to go out of his way to help the customers get exactly what they need. He is also knowledgeable about the products and obviously loves his job! Outdoors companies need more people like him!

  • Ashley

Decathlon has been absolutely amazing in supporting the community. They donated enough neck warmers to help us support 55 families in need over the holidays. And just today they helped us outfit 6 students for ski and snowboard club. We are so grateful for all their help and support.

  • Gary D

First visit to this chain and not impressed. They seem to carry only one brand across all of their sporting goods, presumably their own brand. Prices may be okay, but who knows the brand and quality? Lots of sports categories, but if you want to shop brand choice go elsewhere.

  • RISHIT SHAH

Went there for the first time and was really surprised with the collection they had. Great place to get your sporting equipments. The staff was also very helpful. I really had a wonderful experience. Thank you Decathlon Ottawa. Will definitely visit again. …

  • Guy Warwick (ForestRanger)

Great selection, good price point. Ottawa does not need another high-end sport clothing store. If you want to spend a lot of money go to Westboro. Decathlon has good quality clothing at a great price point, as well as good customer service. It's friendly and unpretentious.

  • Ernest Ehrlich

Shopping at this place is always a pleasant experience. The staff are knowledgeable and polite. I always feel like they are putting an effort in doing their job right, and not just waiting for their shift to end. Bike racks in front of the store is also a huge bonus!

  • Conrad Hutter

Wide selection, a bit of everything in the store. As they have just opened, there was quite a bit of people around. Staff was helpful and plenty around to help out as required. Watch your toes though, quite a few kids flying through the store on scooters.

  • Local Guide

This place has a decent selection of items, but the sales staff is useless. Make sure you know what you want before you go. I was looking for a training specific face mask, and was directed by the sales staff that I should "try a sports store instead".

  • Glenn

Let me start by saying that the staff that greeted us were very courteous and respectful. The products however are of very poor quality. I appreciate that it is not name brand but never the less it all seemed very cheap, both in price and quality.

  • Sobeida Chahin

Today I went to the Decathlon store in Ottawa and had a VIP service. Jackie and Anna were so nice, I haven't felt so comfortable and well cared for in a store in a long time, these people provide exceptional customer service! Well done girls.

  • Sara

The bike technicians there are really nice and helpful. The technician (I didn't get his name), but he put slime sealant on my ebike and he was very helpful! I recommend Decathlon for tune ups, as well as getting bicycles and e-bikes built.

  • Brandon Knight

I bought a ez curl bar expecting to buy weights when they restock but the weights have been out of stock for the past 4 months and I have no use of the ez curl bar. They might have a wide selection of items but they are never in stock.

  • Mili Ombasic

They have really surprising products, very different from other retail stores in the region. The selection of running shoes is interesting considering the low price range. For that price the comfort is better than some popular brands.

  • Grant Hw

They don't have everything on the site but I have found the products here to be of good quality and a pretty reasonable price. I commute by bike year round and have most of my components, gear, and replacement parts from their supply.

  • Gerrard Leach

Great for cheap sports clothing and equipment. Staff although helpful are not very knowledgeable. Nice wise aisles, lots of activities to try. Soccer, basketball, ping-pong, badminton, ice and field hockey, scooter, Roller blades,...

  • Vanessa meikle

Excellent client service, great prices. Julien in the bike shop was very helpful to me in obtaining a highly coveted item of summer 2020- a bike repair stand. Well worth the drive across town to shop there. I'll be back.

  • Mark Hancock

I had a great experience here. Customer service was excellent. I was helped in the cycling department by a fantastic employee I believe was named Fraser. He provided excellent advice and service. Will definitely be back

  • Cliff R D

Very good sports store with fairly priced accessories. They literally have everything, although it also depends on the season. Lately they’ve been low on soccer gear but I’m assuming that’s due to high seasonal demand.

  • Jos Devo

Woohoo! My favourite sports store has come to Canada! Just went on a shopping spree with hubby and he’s referring to it as the IKEA of sporting goods!! YES!!! Quality, Quantity, CustomerCare, and VERY affordable!!!

  • D. Nguyen

You can almost find every thing here in this store. The price is fairly lower than other stores if you want to save some money. There are plenty parking space in this mall as well. But, the traffic is busy.

  • Claire Woodside

I have gotten some great stuff there! Recently I bought some pricey bike lights and I am not sure whether they just aren't made for Canadian roads but they fell off my bike and were lost within a few days.

  • Patrick Dodsworth

best store out there. Needed help locating some alpine touring skiis at the Calgary location and Michael, an employee, spent like 20 solid minutes helping me with my unique situation. Really appreciated!

  • Mustaqim Rahman

The size of the store is small compared to the brand’s French stores. However, you will get almost all the variants here in Ottawa. I have always been a fan of Décathlon and happy to find them in Ottawa.

  • Deb Har

This was my first time at store. We sought out assistance which as some clothing were in European sizes which meant that you might to seek a larger size. But their Staff were super friendly and helpful.

  • Lisa Carty

Wow, such an amazing selection for every physical activity I could think of. Fantastic store and helpful but not invasive staff and excellent COVID protocols - felt great! I will be going back soon!

  • Van-Anh Nguyen (Evie)

I m always happy with the services of Decathlon Ottawa, the staffs are so friendly and helpful and add on with their very reasonable prices on their items as well as the quality. Totally recommend!

  • David Webber

Extremely helpful and knowledge staff who clearly use their own products. I went from knowing zero about ski gear to knowing enough to have a full set suitable for beginners in about 40 minutes.

  • Dang Duang

First time being here, and it's BIG. Prices are fair, many good stuff, would definitely come again. The only thing is, it's too far from Kanata, hope it opens another store here in the west.

  • Thomas Lennox

Great selection and service, went to get Snowshoes for my wife and myself. Not only got them, but a few other things as well. Definitely a great place to shop for sports /outdoor items !

  • Younesse AMEURAOUI

Today I am very satisfied with the service offred by Fraser. Very kind person who helped me to chose a good bike.it tooks a lot of time and he was very patient.thank you Fraser …

  • Matthew Lerpiniere

Decathelon is for so many outdoor activities. I have bought several items for hiking, camping, and even bought an inflatable kayak. Quality is great and prices are very reasonable.
