29/07/21: Reply to business owner's response: Neither am I associated with another Vet care business nor do I derive any sort of pleasure by maligning a business. I'm sorry to note your disappointment, but for all things you said or rather didn't say but interpreted by us, isn't it true that you expressed a "personal" opinion that could drive someone to give up the dog to some adoption centre. I had hoped there is some ownership from the Vet side for a very poor experience we had - mind you, the muzzle is something he isn't used to (it's us to blame) and also, it was difficult because the muzzle was brought a while ago and he has grown out of it in size. And with regards to behavioural training, I'm happy to share the contact details of two dog behaviour experts we have consulted so far, and both advised he is fine and we need to give it some time. As a dog owner, it's nightmare when a verternarian and a behaviourist offer contradicting advice. And nevertheless, thanks to your team for the treatment offered on two past occasions, but unfortunately I cannot accept your response that takes zero ownership and shifts every possible blame on us, owners and the impatience of the veterinary professional is to be fully discounted. The response surely is not in a good faith and thank you for not charging the consultation fee (as there was no consultation) but instead for some medicines that we still do not know to administer, thanks to the contradicting assessment. 27/07/21: Original review post: Three visits to this place so far and the first 2 visits were useful and met our expectation. Third visit unfortunately was setup with Dr Karen, who as a matter of fact has been rated highly online. Only if she provided a consultation that we asked for and not a useless, irrelevant and invalid suggestion would I be able to comment. Being highly opinionated is not very bad, but to label a breed of dog as not pets but a fit for purpose dog and reiterating it a couple more times was driving our disgust at such a practicing veterinary "doctor". Makes me wonder if the so called"fit for purpose" dogs ever need vaccines and if yes, is there is a special group of doctors who see these breeds? Why can't Direct Vet put a note on all the marketing artefacts that you "proudly distinguish dog by their breeds and treat only certain breeds that KAREN thinks are fit for homes". At the least, don't book in appointments for such patients, this way you will save customers time and make a little less money on few days, not necessary though. Irony is in the process of making such an irresponsible and wilful (not by slip of tongue to utter thrice in 5 minutes) comment, the "KAREN" (can't blame the stereotype now) labelled all the pet owners who have adopted any dog of breed she considers as NOT OK are "irresponsible"! I did not hear this statement but my partner was extremely upset and Had i heard that, I would have expressed my displeasure right away. Paid for the consultation in full plus for some unnecessary soothe down medication (speaks volumes about a medical practitioner who thinks they know all about "a dog" coz they have seen infinite "dogs") or rather lack of consultation and epitome of irresponsible behaviour because, hey it was KAREN?!! Are they overpriced? You bet! Zylkene 450mg bottle of 30 capsules pricing is: a. eBay - $62.33 + free postage (from an Oz seller) b. Pt Cook Dog Day care - $65 or 70 C. Direct Vet - $98 or around this bus difference of couple dollars.

Dr Karen extracted my dogs teeth and I could not fault her she made the experience so calming and the times I spoke with her after the operation she reminded me to bring her in around 10 days after for her check up and then again with a date for stitches to come out. I felt like she went above and beyond with her care and service toward both my dog and I. Unfortunately my cat saw Dr Sarah, and we have not had the same experience. He had a canine removed and got an infection a month and one day later - apparently the cut off process for revisits is at one month post op - this was advised after he had seen the vet and they had given me the invoice. On the day of his surgery after his extraction Sarah came out and showed me photos and then sent us on our way - no mention of revisit or need for it. So I had to pay for a "revisit" because a vet ‘had to get involved’. However when she was organising the antibiotics she said ‘i would like to see him when he finishes the tablets so we can see if we need to extend them’ which is conflicting as I was told revisits are only with nurses. I would hate to have to come back as now requested and be told to pay yet again. A quote from Sarah was ‘an infection has accumulated over the past few weeks’ - which begs the question would this have happened if it was vocalised to come for a check up after his operation? The receptionist told me I would have received a page with all the information on it - if my dog had the same surgery done a month prior why would I need to re-read it and if the standard of service is set by Dr Karen and to be verbally reminded to book 2 seperate appointments, why would I settle for anything less? Another issue I’ve had is he has scabs under his fur - they weren’t addressed in our original consultation or the day of his operation - the vet nurse that viewed him today mentioned them too. When sent the forms as to why he needed an appointment I wrote it down on the google doc and again mentioned it in the phone consult but nothing was done about it. Quite disappointed in the experience, wouldn't feel comfortable seeing anyone but Dr Karen. edited to reply: if there's a fee, the nurse should've said hey just letting you know, there will be a fee involved now that we need to confirm he needs medication. also to add, we booked him in today for his revisit that Dr Sarah asked for, as mentioned above ‘i would like to see him when he finishes the tablets so we can see if we need to extend them’ which is conflicting as I was told revisits are only with nurses. I would hate to have to come back as now requested and be told to pay yet again' when we booked the appt in yesterday, no mention of cost, when i was called by a nurse to confirm today, no mention of cost, I called back to clarify with the nurse so this situation wouldn't happen again and she said its $60 for him to see the vet after his medication ended and he couldn't see a vet nurse. i'm so so disappointed, I've never been to a vet that requires a re-visit for when medication ends then tries to make you pay for it.

Felt a bit scammed. They did a number of unnecessary things that didn’t need to be done. I went with my dog as he was limping on one of his back legs. The vet suggested that we needed to get an x-ray (Even though we could see that there was nothing wrong with his bone as he was not in excruciating pain). Not sure why, but the vets suggested that they had to put him on anaesthesia to get an x-ray and said that while he’s under, they may be able to do a dental for him as he really needs a dental. In the estimate that they gave me, they had dental x-rays in there as the vet said that we will do the dental x-rays only if there’s something really wrong with his teeth. I was told to pick him up at 6:15 in the evening. I reached there, but couldn’t see my dog until 7.15. After which I was told that the vet is busy and she can call me to let me know how the x-rays went. That sounded absurd to me as I had paid them $1500 To find out what was wrong with his leg, and nobody was answering that for me. The lady at the reception said that the vet was busy, so if I needed to meet her, I would need to wait a bit more. However, when I asked to settle the bill while I was waiting, the vet came out to take the payment. So she was available to take the payment but wasn’t available for a consult. I also noticed that they had done six dental x-rays. When I asked them why they had been done, she said it was just precautionary. When I finally got the consult with the vet at 7.30. She told me that she didn’t know what was wrong and he probably just needs rest along with painkillers and antibiotics. When I asked her why an extra x-ray was done for his left leg as the pain was in his right leg ( which was about $130) she said oh that was done just to compare to the other leg. I have never heard of anyone doing an xray of a healthy body part to compare. That sounds so absurd. They also did blood tests for him that were never discussed with me and I had asked them to send me a copy of all the tests that I never got. Overall, I feel they could have advised me to wait for a couple of days before actually making me spend $1500. I also felt like a lot of stuff that was done was unnecessary and was done in order to make the maximum money from a client who was worried about his pet. Please think twice before you say yes to any estimate with them.

I have been to direct vet services for the past 10 months since I moved to the area. The nurses are extremely helpful and nice, that was the reason why I was a regular customer. I have spent thousands in this place given I have three cats. However, What happened recently has changed my mind annot go back again. I took one of silver boy for a F1 vaccination in Nov and everything was checked fine. And in beginning of Dec I went back for a booster shot and I was told that he looked very sick and must be going through something, I explained to them that he may have got ringworms and didn’t look great but he’s healthy and active in eating playing and toileting. They have still suggested multiple tests before the Christmas. Urine tests and protein and urine were performed and they couldn’t explain to me what they suspected and then they suggested multiple blood tests, overall cost was over $600. They told me my cat may have PKD, FIV, or liver shunt. After showing them the genetic tests of the parent, they are tested negative with PKD and FIV, they said it couldn’t be liver shunt! After the last blood test they still couldn’t figure out what happened exactly and they referred to the specialist in Melbourne Cats Vet. I spoke with the specialist last week and ran through all the historical blood test direct vet has done. I was told that the urinalysis showed no signs of PKD and blood tests are all showed normal with very mid degree of inflammation but no signs or symptoms of FIV or Liver Shunt! They couldn’t understand why they would need to run an extra protein tests on urine while the first urine tests is fine. With all the blood test there’s also no sign to show he has liver shunt! All the wrong suspicion I was mentally suffered and upset during the past month. They showed zero knowledge about how to analyse and understand the blood result or urine results, all they would do was to suggest al every tests for . I will never go back to this vet again.

Reply to response from owner: I guess you missed the point of the review. This was about customer service. The nurse kept telling my wife and my son that the place was not a public toilet, which we obviously know it wasn’t. There was really no need to point it out numerous times. My son did not need to use the toilet just for the sake of it. The appointment took longer than usual so unfortunately he needed to go. There was no compassion from your end to even reconsider. Your analogy about the bank and Coles is really useless. I am quite sure that if a bank or Coles magically did not have toilets for their customers to use, they would, in the spirit of customer service, allow my kid to use their toilet “at the back” In any case, it sounds like you, as the owner, does not acknowledge that there is an issue here, we can’t do anything. We just called it as it is and it’s really up to you as the owner to either take note of it and improve upon or go on your merry way.. Original Post: Staff was very RUDE!!!!! My dog today had an appointment and my son was busting to go to the toilet and was refused to use theirs. I understand theirs is not a public toilet and given the covid restrictions but as a dog owner having a consultation at their clinic you would think they would at least reconsider as my son wouldn't be able to make it to the nearest train station. And the way she told me off in front of my son was very RUDE, so disgusting!!!! Poor customer service!!!

Over the past 8 weeks, we have gone through 4 different Vets including specialists in search of answers for our fur baby. Dr Karen, Dr Sarah and their team of wonderful staff have been absolutely incredible, we cannot thank them enough for listening to us patiently with empathy and having our dog’s best interest at heart. We have heard “that looks ok; he should get better; if he cant breath then take him to emergency” too many times, but not from this fabulous team. They will try their best to provide a solution, even under difficult circumstances. Our dog had a rough night, we were up all night with him, although we are still under specialist care, they managed to fit us in within a few hours, they could hear our desperation and was very helpful. Dr Karen took the time to get updates from the specialist prior to seeing us, she searched for ways to provide relief for our baby. Most Vets would’ve told us to monitor until it gets worse and go emergency, or wait for the next specialist appointment and do nothing. Thank you once again from the bottom of our hearts, Zeus is finally able to rest without gasping for air. If anyone is looking for comprehensive care for your pets, please don’t waste your time and money going anywhere else. I definitely wish I found them years ago.

Great service with professional vet and friendly helpful nurses. I brought my puppy malamute with a limp today and I feel so fortunate that I did. The staff is currently operating with zero touch due to covid so we had to wait in the car & the phone also did not connect initially so I waved through the door. There was a decent wait before my pup could enter the clinic but given the situation it was understandable and I don't feel like their service suffered with the restrictions. While we spoke on the phone the vets took their time with me and explained everything in great detail. They acted swiftly he was examined then determined he needed an xray, xray same day and determined it needed to casted. I really appreciate how they acted in the best interest of my puppy, very direct and factual. One of the things I appreciated was they made expert decision on the best approach. In hindsight, I would have like to have seen the xrays for better understanding during the conversation, however again understandable with zero touch and they said they would email it to me and advised to call back with any questions. Thank you Direct Vet Services.

I wish I had of read the reviews before attending this vet clinic. As it turns out, I spoke to several friends who have attended here before and never went back due to horrible experiences. I can’t understand how after servers reviews of the same nature and complaints, you still operate in the same way? Waited over 40 minutes for an appointment with no apology or explanation, and when asking how long it would be as I had another appointment I was met with rude responses and whispering between the staff. The vet called my 9 week old kitten feral and acted as though she despised cats. Additionally, had her dog laying in the room whilst she was treating other animals making loud noises - which is why my ‘ferral kitten’ was acting SCARED. I’m honestly in disbelief how this vet clinic can operate in this way. I don’t think you realise how bad the word is surrounding your vet clinic and when you ask locals, their response is ‘do not go there!’ I will never be returning but I do hope you take the steps to better your practice and customer service. It was the worst I have experienced.

It is the most horrible place to bring your pet. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!! They will keep asking you to revisit instead of providing a thorough care in the first instance. Unprofessional doctors and staff!!! My Labrador had severe itching issue and I decided to visit this practise. She wasn’t assessed thoroughly and just told try shampooing her. She had red skin and lost hair due to itching. They just wanted to make money so we can revisit as this wasn’t a treatment but a delay in treatment. When I called to highlight my disappointment and concern Karen, the director said there was nothing they want to do or take any responsibility. And wanted to charge me again for a revisit for the same concern. This is not just unethical but immoral to let a dog suffer because you are putting profits before the speechless pups. Doctors here are inexperienced and only working off revisits profit. Go see another Vet who can provide care with urgency. The service was so unprofessional I almost felt my Dog was seen by a nurse and not a Vet.

Direct Vet Services, and particularly Dr. Karen, have been a lifesaver for Skye's health. Dr. Karen's expertise and genuine care shone through as she not only addressed Skye's health concerns but also played a pivotal role in resolving an insurance claim that was initially denied. The dedication and compassion from Dr. Karen and the entire team at Direct Vet Services make them exceptional. Skye couldn't ask for better care! Dr. Karen and the entire DVS team provide first class veterinary care. Skye's well-being became a top priority for her, and the meticulous attention to detail in diagnosing and treating any health issues was remarkable. Beyond the medical expertise, Dr. Karen's warm demeanor and willingness to go the extra mile provided us with not just veterinary care, but a sense of assurance and trust. Thanks to Dr. Karen and the dedicated team at Direct Vet Services, Skye is not just a patient; she's part of a caring, extended family that understands the importance of pet care.

We had a terrible experience at this place. We saw Dr Sarah who first of all didn’t respect our time. We waited for almost 45 minutes and when our turn came she was busy chatting (non work stuff that we could clearly hear) at the reception so after waiting for 10 minutes we had to ask for her attention and she dropped the discussion and followed us to the room that was allocated to us. As soon as she saw our dog she diagnosed potential cancer symptoms. She sounded like a recent graduate who predominantly used medical words and didn’t explain what it means in simple terms. We had to repeatedly ask her what she meant. We didn’t trust her and decided to get second and third opinion at other vets. All the reports came out normal with no issue at all. This place looks like they want to milk money out of you. The worst part was that she decided our dog had cancerous signs before even touching our dog and checking any results and used scared tactics. Utterly unprofessional behaviour!

The team at Direct Vet are INCREDIBLE! We've been coming to DVS for 7 years now and highly recommend them. Initially I brought my Staffy to DVS as I heard by word of mouth that DVS were lovers of bully breeds (which are often misrepresented), I am so glad I did! Their passion, dedication and level of service is hard to beat, the facilities are outstanding and they have an amazing network of referring vets. DVS welcome everyone with open arms and we truly feel like family and know that our pets are in great hands! The team have a warm and gentle approach to all animals and I have no doubt they can handle ANYTHING. DVS are passionate about their community and work closely with local council to improve the process of reuniting lost animals directly to their owners. Over the years I have been fortunate to be seen by many of the vets and nurses at DVS, and in particular have to thank Dr Sarah and Dr Karen for all of their expertise and support with all of our pets. Thank you Team!

When I first took my dog to this vet, the vet asked me what breed she was and after telling her, she responded with "who would let that happen, the previous owners must've not taken good care of their dogs". Which is a bit inappropriate to say. Also, at another visit to the vet, we were ushered into the examination room and made to wait for 40 minutes before the vet even showed up. On another occasion, I had taken my dog to get her weighed and get her wormer tablets, I was told there was an opening for an appointment (but that they were running late) and booked it because my dog seemed to have something stuck in her ear. I waited for 30 minutes and decided to go to reception to ask for an estimate of how much longer it'll be. "Hi, I was just wondering how much longer you think the wait will be?" and the receptionist responded very rudely with, "I told you we were running late". They are also very overpriced compared to other places.

Not a good experience at all. We took our cat there trusting that they could complete our overseas paperwork for our beloved cat. Not only were they the most expensive vet but they were unable to complete the paperwork officially. Secondly, they stuffed up the date on the paperwork, then claimed to us that, quote “that’s the date you advised us to put”, (illegal also), one day after the deadline with customs requirements and then tried to wriggle their way out of it, blaming the vet’s handwriting. They finally corrected the paperwork but no apology was given, full price was paid and we felt completely disgusted with how they handled a simple mistake that could have been fixed and admitted to. The only person there who had any decency was a guy who stepped in to rescue the situation and offer us some wine, which we neither wanted or accepted. Thanks so much guys, not! A little honesty goes a long way, huh!

Thank you for comforting me for my babe cat's death and organized a smooth cremation service. Due to the sudden heart attack and we found it too late, my little boy passed away. The doctor tried her best but still can't bring my boy back. I was in great grief that day and crying in the operation room for a very long time, the doctor, a very nice lady comforted me a lot. Thank you. The best out of the worst, the vet helped me orgnized a high quality cremation service, I didn't have to spend much time on choosing cremation service during the sadness. After a week, my husband get a call to collect our boy's bone ash from the vet, the doctor asked my husband about me again, to see if I'm feeling better now. All I wanna say is a BIG THANK YOU. Thank you for thinking about me, its really warm and touching. Now my little boy is home again, unseen and silent, but always near.

Lady at the front desk was friendly and nice but I wish I was there to see her. The supposed vet Dr. Phan was useless... I took my dog who needed treatment for an eye infection... My mistake, I did not ask the charges... After less than 3 minutes.. and a 5 Mg ointment later the bill was $117..!!!! But I guess I should feel lucky as they offer their first timers a 20 percent discount... ( first and last timers that is... for me) Vet did no standard checkup... no thorough examination to demand such high fee and after a fortnight my dog is worse and the ointment had no effect what-so-ever..!! Beware of this place a simple checkup and medicine can be extremely dear.. and may be a total misdiagnosis. easy on pets as they cant tell you if they feel better. Oh, but if you do go there don't forget the discount... Would Never go Back...!!!! very pissed and feeling cheated.

I had been attending DVS with my youngest Rottweiler who showed signs of aggression as she was scared of being at the VET. During her time visiting over the years we had a few differents Vets who were all incredibly understanding and did what they could to make the visits a less stressful as possible - thank you! Sadly my youngest was diagnosed with bone cancer and the whole staff were incredibly empathetic and took the time to answer my questions and discuss options via phone after we had left. Even though she didn't make it I am grateful for how kind and compassionate the team were. My eldest Rottweiler started limping and naturally I started thing the worst, they thoroughly assessed her and calmed me down assuring me that it was just.a pulled muscle. Thank you so much to the team at DVS!

This is a very caring vet. I have no fault with the service they provide and their caring attitude towards the animals I have brought here. I have had extremely positive interactions with the vet nurse and vet. However I am on a pension and asked for a quote before tests for a nose swab for my cat. They quoted me $30 under what they charged on the invoice and are yet to respond to my email enquiry about the price being higher. It's a lot of money when cost of living is so high and I wouldn't have approved the test on this instance. To their credit they have been incredibly compassionate with me when my dog was being put to sleep. I was just a little disappointed in my recent visit with my cat because quite frankly that took $30 out of our food budget.

I wish my reason for writing this was a happier one, but I had to say thank you all the same. Ameli was the light of our lives. She brought our family joy, comforts, and so much love. It's hard to believe that she's gone that she will never stay on the corner of the stairs or meow for food. We are so thankful we have Direct Vet Services not far away from us, and the support and comforts to make the whole process easier for Ameli. You are not only help our cat, but us. Thank you for the story called 《 The Rainbow Bridge》. Our little one also drew the picture for Ameli to the hospital on that day. Even though Ameli has gone, we will never forget her sweet presence. We will remember the kindness and warmth received from the team Direct Vet Services. ❤️

I had been going to this Vet for 15+ years. I was told that l would have to have one of my dogs put down as she was losing weight and they were going to do so many tests to see what it is. Since seeing another vet, my girl has put on weight (suggested to up her food intake) and put in 3 kgs in 2 weeks and now has no eye infection. l was told by direct vet she would need a $4000+ operation to fix this. The last straw was when l spoke to the vet nurse (Karen), who was so rude that l rang another vet and booked an appointment. It took me alot of calls and emails to get both my dogs history to the new vet. My suggestion for anyone going here is to get a second opinion on any operation, you would do this for a human, so why not your fur baby.

  • My My

We took our dog last week for an ear infection and got charged almost $400. The medication as you can see it’s very very expensive. During the consultation the vet said she has to do some test but without inform us the cost of the test. I have cancer husband who isn’t working and also have children to look after don’t have much money as we live with one income so I would appreciate somewhere that won’t charge a lot for ears infection or they would let me know it will cost me that much so I can take my dog somewhere Else where I can afford. The consultation took less than 30 minutes. Please check how much your care cost before you take the dog in and make sure you pay what you can afford. It’s unreasonable price. Won’t go here again.

  • tanya robertson

Having lived in Point Cook for three years we have been disappointed with our previous vet experiences in the area. This week I had a sick kitty, our regular (overpriced) vet could not fit her in, these guys squeezed her in and gave a thorough consult despite us being a late addition to the daily schedule. The care and attention to detail was exceptional. Our kitty is still very ill and under their care but the compassion and concern for her and us as a family is commendable and truly appreciated. Also as we were waiting, I noticed the staff greeting pets by names and following up on those pets previous appointments regardless of seriousness. Thank you, we will be using your services for all our fur babies in the future.

  • Rebecca Correnza

I was charged $1000 plus to be told that they don’t really know what’s wrong with my cat. He was sent home with antibiotics and pain relief and I was told to bring him back if there was no improvement, which I will no doubt pay through the nose for. I did not get a good feeling about this place and although the girls were friendly I noticed them leaving calls on hold to attend to private conversations that were not work related. I feel like this place only cares about your money and that’s it. I had to also continually call for updates and no one was getting back to me. I cannot believe the amount of money I was charged. Feel like this place is a big scam

I cannot speak highly enough of the amazing staff at Direct Vets. I predominantly see Dr Sarah or Dr Karen. I have always found them to be Extremely thorough and caring towards my dogs and myself. There may be times they are running behind but that’s totally understandable when emergencies arise all the time . I have been one of those emergencies and when my boy had to be put to sleep Sarah didn’t rush me. She stayed with me and we cried together. I was given the time i needed and not rushed. Thank you Direct vet staff. It’s not an easy job you do but my family will be forever grateful for your care. Archie, Alfie and Buster x

I would recommend Direct Vet Services in a heart beat! I first approached Direct Vet a few years ago with my two bunnies, Bella and Bibi and recently adopted a rescue dog, Frankie. Frankie absolutely loves going to the vet and takes any chance to slip under the reception desk and shower the receptionist with some love :) You can tell their staff have a deep care for all the pets they care for, the staff are super friendly, professional and supportive; and their prices are very reasonable. I have been to a few different vets in the Point Cook area and now see a life long relationship with Direct Vet for all my pets.

  • Julie Desira

Love this Vet clinic. My Mollie is a very anxious dog who doesn't like vets which meant previously that other vets didn't like dealing with her. However the Vet Sarah at this clinic was incredible and really understood Mollie's fear and anxiety and was so caring and gentle which meant that Mollie was able to have her rotten teeth extracted, nails clipped, heart checked and fully examined yesterday. Mollie is recovering really well and I cannot thank Sarah enough. I am so happy that I have a wonderful new vet to take Mollie to from now on. The staff are also all so lovely. Thanks again Sarah!!

  • Theodore Stone

Karen and the team have been nothing but helpful and accommodating towards me. I had an accidental issue whereby my dog attacked another, and as such had hurt another owners dog in the process. The team at DVS helped the injured dog both with surgery and recovery. Further to that, DVS were very understanding to the sensitive situation, and went above and beyond to help myself (financially) and also the other owners dog. I couldn't recommend them enough, and know your pet is in the best hands here! Thank you so much DVS team for the patience & understanding you've shown me :)

From the whole Hills family, we would like to say thank you guys for being nothing short of amazing. Harriet has been in the care of DVS for some years now and the care provided has been absolutely incredible. After receiving the upsetting news this morning that our girl Harriet didn’t have long to live, there was no beating around the bush about her condition. This evening at 6:19pm we got to say our final goodbyes in the most peaceful way, where they explained every step and reassured us. Thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts. Much love, the Hills family

We had an emergency with our puppy and called Direct Vet Services. They were all booked out but after hearing about our concerns offered to get one of the nurses to see our dog for assurance. When we got there they were professional, organised, friendly, clean. They even have an awesome cat that just hangs around! The nurse saw our dog and referred him to the vet who gave us a great game plan. Really affordable. Highly recommend...will be our go to vet in the future. We are lucky to have such an amazing vet clinic in our area.

We had never been to DVS before, and I when our Labrador suddenly become unwell, the team at DVS were able to give us quick honest answers on what was wrong. A big thank you to Dr Sarah and all of the lovely ladies at Direct Vet. Our big chocolate bear Oscar loved all the love and attention he was given when he came to the clinic. Your team not only comforts animals, but also their owners. Thank you for being so comforting and kind especially on one the hardest day of our lives. ❤️ Rest In Peace to our big chocolate bear

I recently found a cat walking through traffic with no collar near Laverton station and this vet was one of the only vets open at the later hours. The staff were very understanding with my concern when I initially called, allowing me to come straight away to drop off the cat. I called to follow up within a few days and again the staff were very compassionate and let me know where I could find the kitten if I wanted to adopt it after its needles and vacs. I hands down appreciate their service and updates through out it all.

We moved to Williams Landing around a year and a half ago and we started taking out cat to Direct Vet Services. Turned out to be a few trips to the vet over the last 2 years however the service we received from the Team and Dr Karen has blown our minds. Super informative and diagnosis has been spot on and helped our fur baby every time. We also love coming in and seeing Puckers and got the chance to give lots of pats to Teddy recently. Cannot recommend this practice enough. Best Vets by far.

  • Lisa C

My 9 year old dog Teddy, had an irritation on his foot... a mystery nobody could solve until we decided to take him to Direct Vet Services and they discovered a lengthy grass seed had burrowed its way into his leg! Visited back multiple times because Teddy had a hate/hate relationship with his bandage but the nurses were so helpful and understanding. So much appreciation to doctors and nurses for being so patient and kind with my grumpy dog and non-english speaking mother :)))

  • Leanne Meiers

We took our much loved Maggie who we have had for 17 years to this vet for the very first time. We saw Dr Karen as our dog was very sick and the way they looked after her and my family was amazing and professional. Dr Karen was super as her shift had finished over an hour ago but stayed with us until our final goodbyes with Maggie. If you are looking for a vet for your pet this is the place to go to. Thanks Dr Karen and staff members.

I cannot recommend this fantastic, caring Veterinary Clinic highly enough. Karen Davis has been our pet's vet for over 10 years now and she is just amazing. Her attention to detail is second to none. She listens to me, and treats my rabbit with great love, affection and kindheartedness. I cannot thank her enough for her all she has done for my rabbit and myself all these years. She really is a blessing and just the most amazing vet.

  • Sarah Melqz

When a vet describes my cat as tripping out big time after a desex operation they earn a special spot in my heart. Great COVID no contact drop off/pick up and caring and considerate with the fur babies. I've recently moved to Point Cook and glad I followed the recommendations of people in the local area, they weren't wrong. Thought I would be paying a premium for this service but pleasantly surprised to find them very affordable.

  • Joy Lin

I took my cat here for chronic vomiting. They were not very transparent with the overall costs or treatment plan. I had to call for updates as well. My cat stayed overnight and they didn't perform any blood tests either to identify further problems. I appreciate them treating my cat and I do understand that they did what they could. I just wish there was a bit more communication and transparency regarding treatment and cost.

  • Rose Rosie

The only thing I don’t like about this clinic is there was twice I took my cat in the room, there is still full of fur on the table and they didn’t change the new towel which have been used on the previous patient, which make me feel very uncomfortable to put my cat on the towel as never know he can get ringworm or other conditions caused from other animals. I hope they will get the table clean before call new patients in.

  • Rik M

We bought our dog here after years of random incontinence and our old vet constantly fobbing us off. She was immediately put on medication that stopped it immediately and the care they have provided has been second to none. They delved further into her “perfect” blood work from our old vet and discovered major issues. I am so thrilled we have found Direct Vet and their amazing service and dedication. What an amazing team

  • Lachlan Peterson

Took amazing care of our cat when he was unwell. Fit us in first thing in the morning with no appointment, performed the procedure needed that day and had hik home to us that night. The staff were really lovely and I had a great chat while waiting for the vet to arrive. Mog is now doing great and we are really thankful for the care you gave :) Will be coming again next time either of our cats are unwell :)

  • Camila Salazar

We brang our dog in for a very painful split toenail and we're expecting to pay for a consult, local anaesthetic, and removal of the nail. My past experiences with vets had me convinced they'd have me paying hundreds. The vet nurse was nice enough to see him and quickly and easily trim off the nail and didn't charge us a thing. Fantastic and friendly service, we will definitely be going there from now on.

  • Phoebe A

These guys are the best vets and nurses you can have for your pets. They've been our vets since 2013 when we moved to the area and we feel so lucky to have them. Not only are they professional and amazing at what they do, but they are also compassionate and wonderful people as well. They really have treated my fur kids like family and I couldn't thank them more for what they do. They go above and beyond.

  • Rachael Fankhauser

Couldn't recommend this vet enough. When I came to them with my dog for her end of life, it was because my old vet didn't open on weekends and it was the best thing that could have happened to us. My Storm was treated with such love, care and respect to help her on her final journey. And the personal care of myself was just as amazing. This is now my new vet and will not be going anywhere else.

  • LAURA MCCLEARY

I saw Dr Karen with our cat last night. Unfortunately the decision was made to have Zuna euthanised. While it was a difficult decision, Dr Karen was incredibly supportive and advised me of all the options available to us. Dr Karen has a wonderful, caring way about her - both with the animals and their humans. She reassured me and comforted me in our decision to end Zuna's suffering. Thank you!

  • Carol Miszkowiec

We are so very lucky to own one of Dr Karens Bulldogs and she has been amazing always happy to help us and answer any questions. An amazing vet with an amazing team behind her always putting the animals first I appreciate all you do for our fur babies and I especially appreciate all you do for our Bulldog page you freely answer questions and give help when ever its needed. Cass

  • Karen Burnham

I want to thank vet Sarah for your wonderful job of getting my Juliet to eat after emergency surgery ! I went home knowing that she would be feeling a lot better having some food in her stomach. Thank you so much for your care and compassion she is now well on the road to recovery. Thank you to the amazing staff highly qualified Vets .

  • Bianca Novella

Always have great experiences here. Karen is beyond amazing with both our fur babies. The team have always been fantastic and helpful. Could not recommend this practice higher. Also love that I never feel rushed everything is explained in terms we understand and we always get a chance to ask questions.

  • Melissa Robinson

Cannot complain about the service that the team gives. During Covid I had to take my Turtle in the get a check up, as there are only so many vets in Metro Melbourne whom knows reptiles as Stewy the Snake Catcher takes his rescues into DVS. Will be using DVS again, as we have adopted a doggo as well.

  • Aleisha Santuccione

Direct Vet Services have been a great support for our fur family. From yearly vaccines for our kitties, and helping us navigate end of life care for our pup, they were able to answer any and all questions we had. Particular shoutout to Dr Karen and vet nurse Aleisha for your kindness and care.

  • Clo Star

$89 to put my cat into the computer system. Apparently my cat is pregnant, due next week but I don't think so, she actually lost weight. Mabey she just had worms or ate a large bird. For that price I would of hoped for an ultrasound to make sure she is pregnant. I hope she is, I'm so excited

  • Kenneth “kenfrapin” Pinto

One of THE best places to get your furry babies checked. The entire team is completely lovely and patient to answer any questions. They are always our go to when our usual vet isn’t available. And most vets recommend Direct vets for surgeries and x rays and emergencies. Best of luck guys!!!

  • Mark Artuso

Miss medicated my dog, took zero responsibility and then tried to make me feel like a terrible owner. The owners (Karen's) customer service is shocking! Sent me emails but never actually called to talk through any issues. I have found a new service and they have been immediately better.

  • Sarah and Keith Toh

To the whole team at Direct Vet Services, thank you for your wonderful care for our pets. It has been more than 10 years that you have seen the ups and downs experienced when we have the fur family. We appreciate the attention and professional care that is always given.

  • Cristina Gunster

We have been going to Direct Vets now for 15 years. Dr Karen and her team are totally amazing, always professional and caring ( not only to the pets ) If we could give you 100 rating we would. We would not go anywhere else, Casper & Simba thank you all ❤️❤️ …

  • John McNamara

The vets here are amazing. Kind, caring and full of advice. They actually care and it feels like they love their job. My dog got bitten at the dog park and they made us feel comfortable and fixed our pup and put us at ease. Can't recommend enough.

  • David Roberts

We have used Direct Vet Services twice for a check up of our old dog. The vet was good and explained things well. They have good facilities including being able to give our dog an ultrasound. Prices were ok. I expect we will continue to use them.

  • Tony Taylor

Just come from another visit this time with my two Quaker Parrots and nothing has changed. Still the best and the only vet service I take my pets too because I know they will get the very best of care. Top marks to Karen and her amazing team.

  • Xiem Hong

The doctors and nurses and staff are fantastic. They are caring and you can see how they interact with the pets. My dog loves them and actually can't believe how well behave he is when he comes in for a check up. Highly recommend these vets.

  • Naomi Jukes

Excellent. The vet was patient with our dog, treated her so lovely, took great interest in her, and the most important thing is they really take into account the cost and make things as cheap as possible for you. Amazing totally amazing

  • Victoria Brocas

Was a great visit for my cat. Although not sure why I had to see a vet again for a follow up monthly injection. But it was all sorted out for the next 6 months of visits. Reasonably priced, friendly and Meow is a happy cat again.

  • Chevy Lowndes

Lovely people who show compassion and happy to make my very nervous whippy feel safe with pats and cuddles. They also have a good range of tees and hoodies for humans. Would recommend Karen and the team who go above and beyond

  • Andrea Sharrocks

Dr’s Karen & Sarah are amazing! The level of care, knowledge and professionalism are second to none. Truly can’t recommend them enough. DVS are a wonderful team!! Wouldn’t go anywhere else. Thank you for all your help & care.

  • Karen Lidyard

Amazing service and care over many years with our 2 dogs and 2 cats. Dr Karen always professional and helpful, with great tips on keeping my pets well. Referred many clients and all have been so happy with the great service!

  • Adrian Bagnato

Brought my four month old kitten to see Karen and was very happy with how knowledgeable and gentle she was. Was very patient and open to my many questions. Reception staff were also nice and friendly. Will be visiting again!

  • cynthia coignet

I saw two different vets for my old Maltese Cross fluffy. He had a sagging side of his face and none before direct vet could tell me what it was. They have the knowledge to back their claims. I have found my forever vet

  • Jay

Dr Karen is fantastic! My fur baby has kidney issues, so going to the vet is a monthly occurance, and she struggles with Anxiety. Dr Karen managed to put my girl at ease; she even got a certificate for being brave.

  • Miggy E

All of the staff are very friendly and helpful. I had Karen(a vet there)check my dog and she did a thorough check. I didn’t have to wait too long. Good service. All around good expirence and would return.

  • Steven de Visser

My wife and I have been taking our dog and cat to Karen and her team for over 4 years now. Never had any issues whatsoever! Very pleased with the level of service we have received so far. Thanks!

  • Jack Wintle

The staff here really do care about animals and make the experience enjoyable for our two pups. Also a bulldog decided to sit next to me on the chair. If I could rate this higher I would.

  • C S

Amazing girls. We found a lost dog and they went out of there way to find the owner. They did everything possible to keep him comfortable and happy. Great work ethic and genuinely cared.

  • Surinder Singh

One of the best customer service and care for our dog. They have gone above and beyond to talk to the insurance team and get the proper reimbursement for me. Once again thanks everyone.

  • Azi Sheikh

We've been coming here forever. Karen and the team have always been excellent. We recently had to put our dog down and the compassion and understanding was incredible. RIP Tsavo pig ♥

  • Suzi Rava

Thanks to Karen and the wonderful team who looked after our beautiful Maggie. We will be forever grateful. Highly recommend for their caring, compassionate and professional services.

  • Fortitude Valley Vet

When clients ask for a good vet to recommend when they move to Melbourne, I always send them to Dr Karen and team. A+++ on customer service, 5 gold stars on veterinary knowledge.

  • Mesini Couzos

Came here tonight with a rabbit emergency! They saw me within a day and helped my bunny with his teeth issues and sorted out a treatment plan without overcharging! Thanks again

  • Billy Davies

Extremely caring supportive staff with very reasonable rates. Great to have a Vetinary Clinic that genuinely cares about the animals and pets that they treat. Thank you.

  • Jean Rose Kereopa

Happy with the appointment. Didn't take long for Jeanie to settle considering her second visit. The staff was gentle & patient throughout the visit. 10 out of 10.

  • Martin Appleby

The Vet & nurses are fantastic, but it's cheaper for me to see a Dentist than to take my Dog to Direct Vet Services, I'm not being mean, this is a fact …

  • Allison Brear

Lovely people who actually listen. Very caring and understanding. I first came here about 4-5 years ago, haven't looked back and won't go anywhere else now.

  • Concerned Citizen

Used to be good, now ALWAYS get a second opinion. These guys over service and over quote. Price to desex 2-3 times more than anyone else. No Thanks

  • Richard Tole

Cannot thank these guys enough. Very professional, very helpful, very receptive. We have a giant breed dog and they've been absolutely brilliant.

  • Tristan Kilmartin

They took amazing care of our puppy, listened to our concerns, and answered every question we asked. 10/10 will be a regular client here.
