I have stayed in plenty of places in Hobart and this unfortunately was my least favourite. I do give them points for the aircon in the room but as for everything else that goes, I can’t suggest it. My Ute for startes didn’t fit in the car park outside the cabin in the dedicated parking spot (standard hilux) so I had to park half over the next person and luckily their wasn’t someone staying there at the time. Next, none of the windows lock or even seem to make a difference to noise from the highway when shut. As mentioned, be aware that it’s right next to the highway so you will hear noise all night if you’re a light sleeper. Bring some ear buds. I feel like that should be pointed out more clearly before purchasing the night as I definitely underestimated it and should have read the reviews before booking. Lastly the cabins are very outdated and old for the price. While it’s a cheap cabin, I stayed in a cabin near the airport in their caravan park for $3 more and wish I went back there. The room was much nicer, newer and better maintained - also no where near as noisy even though it was twice as busy. I also may be picky by saying this but I can’t stand shower curtains in rooms where other people stay. I feel like a door or at least an open shower with glass should be essential in this day and age. Lastly, my partner found hairs on the bed which totally put me off. It’s a shame because this place has potential and for comments to be saying they are actively responding and listening, not much seems to have changed from the reviews I’ve read 2 years ago.

Thank you for the wonderful stay! The cabin we stayed in (no 29) was super clean and tidy. We could feel the love they put in every corner of the cabin. The cabin layout was super functional. Although not a big cabin we found it spacious with how they utilised the space in the smart layout. The floor and carpet was spotless. We could walk inside bare feet comfortably. We managed to cook a few dishes, thanks to the full size cooktop and oven. We were given complimentary tea and coffee. It was a pleasant surprise to me when I found raw sugar and sweetener on the tray as not many places would offer these anymore. For our 3 night stay we were given 3 sets of shampoos, conditioner, shower gel and body lotion. These were more than enough for our stay! And a box of facial tissue! We were made to feel so welcome and my kids said that's a 5 star hotel experience and I truly agree. Location is very close to Hobart city, only a short drive across the Tasman Bridge. There was some traffic noise from the freeway nearby, which did not bother us, but it could be an issue for light sleepers.

My family and I stayed here a couple of nights and you get what you paid for. We have stayed at quiet a few Discovery Parks and this was our least favourite. The staff were friendly and welcoming and the cabin was ok. Needs a upgrade though with the stove on top of the bench and to safely use you need to be over 6ft tall. The traffic from the freeway was unpleasant and we didn't get much sleep. But the downfall for us was the permanent resident that lived behind us off to the side likes to watch you through the gap in the curtain on his balcony. The office is only 9 to 5 and does not stock items most Discovery Parks do. The gravel road needs maintenance with no real place for the kids to play either. The very small playground is up the front where its unsafe for the kids right next to the front entrance.

I visited this place with my wife and 2 kids and was really disappointed. They charge around 150 per day but the kind of room I got was really small. The bunk bed sheet and mattress protector seems to have been changed or clean. It has all kind of stain and some dirt on top of it looks like it was cockroaches egg. The lady in the reception was helpful and she change that for me. To add to our experience I found some chicken bones and dirty cutlery. When I told the staff they seems like I am being too much demanding and I should expect these things when going to caravan park. Never ever going back to this place and highly not recommend this place to any one.

Very great experience with this holiday park. The accommodation was very cozy and clean.Everyone were extremely friendly and super helpful. Went out if their way to help us replace our flat tyre, allowing us to make it in time to our flight. The gentleman that helped us with the flat tire was extremely nice and friendly, super handy and knew what he was doing. If you are reading this review, we are extremely thankful for your help and your kind natural, thank you so much again.

Grounds keeper complained multiple times about driving too fast when we were not. Don't know what his problem was but it was very frustrating as him and the office lady went out of the way to make a big fuss about it and call our boss. I'm guessing they were bored and had nothing better to do. Also last week the shower drain was blocked and flooded the bathroom in a different cabin and as a builder I could see that the shower was not waterproofed properly.

Basically a gravel carpark with cabins that backs the main road so there's no chance of sleep. Felt like way to many cabins crammed in. Staff were rude and quick to blame us upon certain minor issues. Shower had mould around the edges. Spent 3 weeks in Tas staying at different places and this was definitely the worst. Stayed here because of our wonderful stay in Devonport's discovery park, what a disappointment

They are very rude n have no caer for locals in need there words are they can make more money from the tourists nice place to sleep but other then that they have no consideration for others all for money there is much better lots off camping in tas $10 pr person a night at the lea bush camping the descovery Park are very invasive we felt that we had to have our curtains closed to stop them from constantly staring in at my family very uncalled for n very in professional

Fantastic stay here on a business trip. Perfect contact free handoff and staff were very friendly and helpful the next morning when I’d locked the room but left something inside still. Would definitely stay here as a part of a family trip. Ample on site parking and room was spotless and above what I expected, plus decent sized milk and some hot chocolate included instead of the usual coffee/tea which is always a positive!

Clean, comfortable cabin, accommodated a family of 5 well. Cabin equipt with everything you need to be self sufficient. Park has bbq, playground and laundry onsite. Cabins have heating. porta cot also available at request. Great location, close to city, highway and local shopping mall. You can hear cars on the highway however this did not bother us.

  • Saad Habib Ahmed

Staff was very cooperative. Proper parking for each cabin is provided. Dual AC, electric kettle, hot plate, toaster, microwave, fridge, TV were provided. We checked in very late at night and checked out very early in morning but there was no problem at all. We just coordinated with staff prior to visit.

  • Lee-anne Chetwyn

Clean cabins but very old interiors. Highway was 2ft from cabin and road noise was unbearable, thank god bunnings was around the corner for earplug purchase. Limited sleep over our 3 night stay as the riad noise was next level. The staff lovely but the owners need to put up a sound proofing fence!!!

  • Ashmitha Shiva

This is my favourite place to stay in during the holidays because it was everything i needed. The kitchen was so good and the bedroom felt better than the ones I had at home. Bathrooms were so clean and nice. The air cons and heaters were working beautifully and the location was the perfect spot.

  • Queenie Tamariki

Very disappointed with this park. Run down cabins. Rotting timber cabinets, warppeds floor boards. It looked nothing like the pictures I saw on the website. Kids playground is s joke, so small. This is obviously an overflow for the hobart park. Would not recommend at All. Don't waste your money

Cozy cabin with full amenities. Although it was close to the highway, sound levels were not a problem. Beds were comfortable with heated blankets. Laundry facility was useful. Very convenient location, short drive to Eastland mall and to Hobart CBD. Very friendly staff.

  • Bam Bam

Clean cabins, close to highway making it easy to get to Hobart and convenient to the airport. I also found it very easy to access the highway to set off on other day trips. It lacks atmosphere but is clean and tidy so is suitable for practical people on a budget.

  • Anku Chapagain

I just love the theme of discovery parks. This just feels like home with kitchen, dinning and small living area inside a cabin. Of course the cabin differs as per preferences and money but yea it was all good. It is just adjacent to the

Don't know how they expect people to sleep well and stay worm with one thin brown blanket on a mattress that feels like wood. For someone who is allergic to dust, these cabins are not the ideal place to be.

  • john Skinner

While very close to the highway and there is some traffic noise, it does quiet down throughout the evening. Only issue we had was the bed needed replacing otherwise all good and would consider staying again

  • Mary Lind
