I've been visiting this Dixy Chicken location occasionally over the last ten years or so - I've lost count. Originally, many years ago, I found their prices very expensive compared to other fast food outlets in the area, hence why I chose other places. Another issue was that they didn't accept any card payments - cash only. There is a cash machine directly outside now. The prices seem more in line with other places now, only because the other places' prices have slowly crept up over the years. The food is always something that I've had no complaints about. It's always been well made and tasty. I've never been dissatisfied with the food. Although, over the years, the portion sizes have been getting smaller. Not as many fries are given as they used to - but then again, this is something that almost all fast food places do nowadays. The biggest slap in the face though is the Mega Mix burger. I know most about this because this is my usual choice. It's a chicken burger with chicken strips also in the burger. They used to place 3 strips in the burger, now there are only 2! If others aren't as greedy as me, perhaps they don't mind this so much or haven't even noticed. The food still tastes really good, but portion sizes are getting smaller. Also, their choice of drinks are either whichever cans are available (usually very few choices - yesterday I was limited to either Pepsi or Diet Pepsi). You can get one of the drinks from the machine that they pour into a little carton, but I find these too diluted for my liking. If memory serves correctly, they have Vimto and 7up/Sprite to choose from this machine as well. Bear in mind, if you 'super size' your meal, your drink will come from the machine in a larger carton. On a side note - on a previous visit to this location, I asked for the large meal and paid extra accordingly. When I was given my order to take away, it was a good job I double checked what was inside the bag. I had been given a regular sized meal instead. Then I had to wait another 5 minutes for more fruits to be made. Always check your order! My real issue with this place is the staff. If they had better staff and customer service, I would be here much more often. I have lost track of the number of times I have had to wait for the servers to finish their conversation while I'm stood directly in front of them waiting for service. Yesterday, I timed it and waited 55 seconds - not good at all! I could be rude and just blurt out my order loudly like other customers do, but that's not my style. Perhaps my patience and manners are no longer a virtue in today's society? At busy times, the queue looks like a rugby scrum and there seems to be even less order on the staff-side of the counter. Interestingly, on a few occasions, I've seen some staff members running around working hard whilst others are chilling on their phone - surely they should be helping out, or is that too much to ask? And only once they've causally finished checking out their Instagram feed or replying on WhatsApp, do they causally stroll over to serve. Kudos to those who work hard and shame on those stealing a wage! If there's a bit of a wait time while the food is being prepared, you can usually wait by the counter if it's to-go. Otherwise you can take a seat, especially during busy hours. However, if you're asked to take a seat, your food will not be brought over to you. Instead someone will holler at you from the counter to come and collect it. So keep an ear out for that! They also serve desserts and a few other things at a separate counter, but I've never tried them so can't comment. Overall, I would rate the food 4 stars from what I've tried on the menu - mainly burgers, chicken pieces, fries etc. No pictures to show as it was just a standard burger meal. Burger comes in the usual yellow-coloured carton and fries come in a small white paper bag. And I'm being generous by giving the customer service 2 stars! That averages out to 3 out of 5 stars. Bins and seating area not cleaned regularly so be careful when sitting.

Dixy Coventry Rd Birmingham Branch. What can I say but wow absolutely the best Dixy I have ever been too. The food was 10 10, now I couldnt believe it myself but man i kid you not I've never had food this good from a Dixy. First time visiting, was driving past heading back to Walsall and we were hungry so spotted Dixy and pulled in. Up till this point I don't really rate Dixy as very good, it has always been mediocre at best when I've been to other Dixys but today it was beautiful. Walked in to a nice big store, nice and clean and was served by nice polite lady with glasses, i changed my order and she was totally fine with it which was a nice suprise. Staff all seemed pleasant but the food, I took it to the car and as we started eating we all looked at each other and said Wow this is cooked to perfection. The 1/4lb burger the fried chicken the nibblets the fries were all fresh and piping hot it was heaven Dont know if I was just lucky but I've never rated anywhere a 10 10 but I got to give credit where credits due the food was amazing and I mean all the food. Definitely one of my favourite goto place from now on well done guys

I was reccomended this place but on the day of going in my husband was horrified by the lack of basic hygiene. Above the food prep station was a man on a ladder cleaning the vents fully visible to all customers. While a man underneath prepped food. He recorded a video of it and sent it to me. I told him to cancel the order but he already paid. He walked out and dumped the food in the trash. We reported to food standard agency and submitted the video. Surely this should be done before they open or after they close. I can't believe they did that in full view of customers. We never steeped foot back into that place ever again.

Store looks great. Location is also great. Food is hit and miss, mostly a miss. Burgers is often dry as if they've been prepared and sat in the incubator until someone orders it. Fries are thick and not fired for long enough. Menu is overpriced for what they serve up. There is elderly chap who hovers around the kitchen and prepares the fries often snacks on them while serving them up, bare hands. This placed used to be decent a few years ago, but not anymore.

Avoid!!!!!!!! Diarrhea !!!! Just bought 7 mixed box which they game me burger and fries, also bought wings ..took it to work taste was below average. Next thing i know i got a really bad Diarrhea. I always look after myself and always clean.. But since i ate this food I bought from this dixy i had the worst Diarrhea ever..got me sweating amd losing sleep always running to toilet. I will never order from this place again..i will also report it to authorities for hygiene.

Staff are really good, attentive and polite when taking your order. Service is quick and they’re quite busy most of the time. Food is a hit and miss, can be lovely when made fresh but unfortunately this is not the case most of the time, it’s pre made and left in the food warmer display cabinet and then put into your burger or meal when you order which takes away from the food by the time you eat it. That being said, they are not stingy with sauces and throw in a good few always which is great. Overall, a decent place to stop by when you’re in a hurry!

Food here now waaay overpriced... almost as if they are selling gourmet fresh food made from scratch ... prices have increased for a lot of things but £5.00 for a cheese burger meal is just silly!! £7.50 for a panini hilarious !! Burgers with Processed frozen meat brought wholesale then grilled and put in a bun is all it is... better off paying these prices at Pepes where at least the food is a lot more fresh in comparison...it's a fast food takeaway.. not a michellin star restaurant

Today 31 August 9.50 pm I bring 3 pieces chicken strips but thay didn't use any spice or any solt . 5/10 min I back them and show them look its coll chicken strips ..thay tell me its normal chicken strips ...I told them check one pic chicken no tast no solt no spice its only chicken fry and i told them you keep these its look like animals food..... there service is no good ...thay want to make money only used dixy name ...

Absolutely disgusting ordered from here yesterday for me my son and nephews and all 4 of us have vomiting all night. We’ve all now got food poisoning from this. I’m now having to take my 10 month old son to the hospital because he has been vomiting non stop. Absolutely horrible food. Never ever ordering from here again. It was my first and last time for sure

Delicious fried chicken. The batter was crispy and flavoursome. Chicken tasted fresh. I was let down by the disorganised staff, they had plenty of them but it didn't seem they were working in synchronisation- there's definite room for improvement here. For fast food people expect fast. The store was large and spacious. Public toilets available. Small prayer room present.

The food is average. It was quite pricey. They have a toilet which not many takeaways do. No music too which is great. They stopped selling coke/pepsi/7up after current events around the world and that made me happy. I appreciate it.

Ordered a supreme burger, sizzler strips, wings and a party bucket. Food was mediocre and did not taste like it was freshly made, perhaps an old precooked batch? The biggest disappointment was the chips — tasted like they were old, possibly reheated twice, you get the gist. Unfortunately the highlight of the meal was the can of Pepsi.

It's good some good chicken wings, but most of the food is soggy Update : The food has actually gone downhill, it isn't as good anymore, the fries just taste like cardboard and so do the wings, no flavour at all and the lack of hygiene. I am very saddened as this was such a good place to eat but I surely do not recommend it anymore.

One of the worst Dixy's around. For the size of it the food quality is atrocious. Had a wrap and burger right at lunch time and food tasted as if it was from the day before. Since changing owners several times the quality has really slipped.

Second Time Same Quality One star for the can and the rest of the food was worst ever i had in my life. If you cannot maintain the quality close the business don’t risk other’s health. ( I’m sure they are using the same oil for weeks ) Avoid this shop go somewhere else spend £5 more but you’ll get quality food

Has to be the worst Dixy around without a doubt from the slow service to the poor food quality. Avoid like the plague. The cleanliness of the dining area and the smashed windows are an accurate indicator of the standard of the shop

One of my favourite places to eat after a day out shopping .It's chicken wraps are amazingly delicious along with there spicy chicken and fries. It's spacious inside and there's toilets and dessert and coffee .also the workers there are at there job would recommend dixy anytime …

Very tasty and lovely fried chicken and the Panini is unbelievable. Definitely would be retaining always great service and always very fresh cooked food

Lovely food when fresh, but that's the problem, it's not always fresh. If your going to pay £4 £5 for a meal, you expect it fresh all the time not just on some occasions. The chilli sauce is lovely. The drinks selection can be upgraded from the cheap carbonated drinks all dixys use..

Ordered over the phone, medium order, the fish panini I ordered had BARLEY any fish in it, I got a headache from eating it all I could taste was CHEESE and the Hard panini bread. What a steal because I actually feel like they used crumbs of fish that how poorly it was prepared.

Took ages to get a order through as there was one person giving out orders at one side and then couldnt take orders. Was in queue for 10 mins yet there was only 1 person to be served. Got a fish wrap which was made before and was just warm and dry fish. Wouldnt go there again

I was ordering food at around 9 in the shop when I saw a little mouse run through the back where the fries are I was disgusted but I had already ordered the 3chicken peice meal was raw and disgusting

Sizzler burger coating needs a recipe change, doesn't feel like it's made with quality ingredients, hardly has any spice, tang or decent seasoning. Chips were fresh. Chilli sauce is way too watery. Service was quick. Prices are OK. Chicken pieces are good.

If you want Diarrhoea eat from this Dixie chicken. Don’t make the mistake of going here either there special sauce was off or chicken there are many other Dixie available go there. Surprised how they even got there environmental health score shocking

Fries tasty but became soggy after 10mins, chicken tikka burger was really nasty no flavour bun was too hot and soggy. However chicken bites were rather crunchy and tasty. Its was worth a try but I can't recommend. Customer service was excellent.

The place is okay..looks clean enough and spacious. But some of the staff ladies are not very polite and they are unprofessional. We got wrong size pizzas and was told we didn't ask for specific size. And only 2 dips given for 3 pizzas.

Best Dixy Chicken. Has amazing food and also some desserts. Good seating aswell. Would definitely recommend this if your looking for a quick meal that's delicious. Love their Chicken Supreme burger so would definitely recommend that!!

The food tastes greats. The place is always clean. But the service is very poor. They are very polite but I have to wait 15 to 20 mins for my food. I've been 15 times now and it's always like this 90% of the time.
