I can say that I had one of the most disappointing customer service experiences today thanks to Dowdy Electric, Heating & Cooling Co. PLEASE READ to avoid this happening to you or yours. My mom called to have an outlet repaired. Unfortunately for her, it the outlet was a GFI. Simple push of the button and it was reset. The technician was there no longer than five minutes. She was charged $99 for this service. I understand the need for trip charges. Albeit, $99 seems like an exorbitant amount for a minimum. I would be okay had she been told that there was a minimum charge or trip charge when she set up the appointment. And the company admittedly said they do not tell customers unless they ask when I called to complain. Lying by omission is still lying in my opinion! Leaving out information that may influence a customer's decision on choosing your service is nothing less. In the interest of full disclosure, they did offer 10% back when I called. I declined. The offering of a discount, though it was minimal, is an admission of wrong doing in my book. I encourage you to think twice before using this company. Thank you to those that read this far for allowing me to vent to you. Sorry that this was so long, but when it feels as though your family was taken advantage of it stings a bit.

Six years ago, I had Dowdy electric install a Kohler standby generator. Rob, their technician instantly came to the house when I needed emergency service work on the generator. Rob has always explained the hows and whys of the work that needed to be done. One hot July day Rob came to the house sweated for 6 hours to detect a bug in the Kohler software that monitors the generator. This guy is a rare gem! Today, March 20th, 2023, Rob Smith came to do a routine maintenance on my Kohler standby generator. He came on time and was very pleasant. He took his time to explain everything he did. I love Dowdy Electric. Rob Smith is my favorite technician. Thank you for assigning him to do my routine work on my Kohler generator.

Allen A arrived early to replace an overhead light in my kitchen. I also asked him for an estimate to install a whole house surge suppressor. He was friendly and efficient. It took him 15 minutes to do what it would have taken me an hour to do. I hope to have him back for the surge suppressor soon. 3/30/23 Matt came out today and installed a whole house surge suppressor. He arrived first thing. He needed to get a part. I wasn't charged for the extra time. He really seemed to know what he was doing. I will use Dowdy Electric if I ever need electrical work done again.

i recently had a whole house generator installed. From the initial contact to the project completion, the entire Dowdy team was friendly, professional and helpful. When Bud came over for the initial discussions, I had a list of questions prepared. He handed me information that answered many of them before I even asked. During installation, the team was friendly and efficient. They worked hard to keep the site clean during and after installation. We are extremely pleased to have this backup power source and we would highly recommend Dowdy Electric!

I was in need of an electrician to install my Ring Pro doorbell. After a few calls, Dowdy was able to do the install the next day. I was very impressed with Dowdy. They were able to meet my needs, and I was very happy with the entire process. The electrician came out, and the install was completed in less than 45mins. He was also very professional and a pleasure to deal with! I would definitely call Dowdy again should I have a need for electrical work. I would like to thank everyone at Dowdy for a job well done!

Dowdy just installed my Generac backup power generator. The crew arrived on time and was sensitive to my need to limit the amount of time I was without power. With my sloped lot, they did an excellent job of leveling the unit. The lead technician was responsive to my questions as he walked me through the unit's operation. All pilot lights were relit after the gas service was interrupted. The work area was cleaned up before the crew left. Overall, an impressive compant!

Our Furnace was not coming on so our house was very cold. We called Dowdy Electric and they sent a technician that very day. He diagnosed the problem . Unfortunately it was too late in the day to get the needed part but he came back the next day and made the repairs and the furnace was up and running. The technician was knowledgable and very courteous. It has been several days and the furnace is performing as it should. Extremely satisfied with this company.

Selected Dowdy to install our Generac generator after some poor response/service from another local installer. Couldn’t have been happier with the service they provided! The initial contact was made from their online form and I received a follow up call the very next day. Came out quick and quoted us exactly the unit we needed. Super fast install with flawless results. Not one complaint with their service thus far!

I called at 8:05 AM in Monday morning and within 2 hours the tech had arrived and my problem was fully resolved and repaired to code. Joey was very professional and informative. He explained the repair and completed it quickly, and left no mess of any kind. This was supreme service and I am thrilled that I called Dowdy Electric to solve my problem. I will not hesitate to contact them again if needed.

Thank you so much for your help on our old house ('39). The electricians have been here twice in the last couple weeks to repair a bad circuit. He also found our outdoor light was being powered by a phone line, and was completely unsafe. They have been prompt, professional, and our dogs love them. If you have any house, but especially an old house, as we do in Irvington, we highly recommend!

We used Dowdy doing everything under the sun on a home remodel over the last year and Allen is the absolute best of the best. He is beyond knowledgeable and capable and works HARD to always make every change with as few drywall cuts or home alterations as possible. Our whole family now uses Allen for everything at all of our homes. Ask for Allen and you will be thrilled with the results.

2nd time we needed an electrician, 2nd time with Dowdy and will always call Dowdy! We had concerns about power outage in 2 rooms. Unfortunately cannot provide a good review for Dowdy Electric. We had them out to quote the install of a new outlet above our microwave (and hang the microwave) and they quoted us at $760. The competition came out and did it for $315.. Our technician was very nice and professional, however I cannot get over the ridiculous quote to install an outlet and microwave..

Sent someone quicky. He installed new plugs in the outlet. A few days later, when I opened the faceplate, the plugs were in there crooked. I called the co. They sent the same person even though I requested not to. At first, he told me that was the best it was going to get, but after I argued a bit, he finally put them in straight. I will never call this co. Again

The service men that came to install our attic fan were quite friendly and did work very quickly. The concern with this service was more on the selection of fan as Dowdy chose it and did not confer with my wife or I that it would meet our standards and the. Has yet to rectify any of the issues with the product after a return visit and one more scheduled.

I was misinformed as to the charges. I needed a meter tag they basically charged me $260 to come out and inspect the meter. I was not made aware that if it failed I would still pay the 260. So we will not be doing business with them and I will let everyone I know in the property management business to avoid dowdy electric thank you and have a good day

Most professional electric company I've worked with. They replaced old electrical panel and installed a Generac generator. Maintenance and service is second to none. And unlike other electric companies, they won't try to sell you what you don't need. That is so extremely rare these days.

The technician diagnosed the issue and for electric panel switch the price for replacement was reasonable. However, for a normal wall plug replacement i was charged $140.... that's quite unreasonable. overall i got my problem fixed but i won't call them again if i need electrical help

Dowdy was fantastic to work with. Prices were fair and the quality of work was fantastic. They were able to come out fast for an estimate and able to work with my schedule to be out to do the work. I'd recommend to anyone and will use them again if I need electrical work done.

The technician that came to my house was professional and friendly. Explained everything to me and I didn’t feel like I was pressured into any repairs, I was provided an estimate for a panel replacement which is extremely reasonable. Will be using your services again!!

We had an estimate done to replace our whole HVAC system. They were prompt and had excellent communication skills. They explained things in a way without talking down to me. He was thorough and detailed. Appreciated the high level of respect and consideration.

My home generator wasn't working correctly. They some troubleshooting and their opinion is my carburetor needed replacement and put new gas in the unit. I agree with the assessment and look forward to them returning and getting me back to a reliable unit.

Electrician was very polite and conscientious. We had two outdoor lights, a receptacle and a ceiling fan installed in a pavilion. He did good job of making sure the wiring was neat and asked questions along the way to ensure we got exactly what we wanted.
