Earls is always a good place to eat . Their food is good . This location seems to be quite busy . Our waitress Avielle , was amazing! Very kind courteous and took out order - she was on point . Disappointed when part of our order was incorrect , not the fault of our waiter , but the manager corrected it right away ! And that’s what matters . These things happen but on the whole experience was wonderful . The ambiance , food and the service was fantastic. I love this location - Thank you Earls for always being so welcoming and for the amazing service ! I’ll be back for sure ! Oh the new drinks ! Yummy ! You have to try the Passion Fruit Chili Margarita . My friend had the Mai Tai and both were definitely great ! The desert is to die for ! And most of all thank you to our very amazing and wonderful waitress Avielle for the amazing service ! I’ll definitely ask for you. An experience at a restaurant is always made extra special when you have an amazing experience with your waiter or waitress ! Thank you ! SECOND REVIEW : I recently had the pleasure of dining at Earls Kitchen and I must say, it was yet another exceptional experience that left me thoroughly satisfied. From the moment we stepped through the door, we were greeted by two amazing hostesses, Allyson and Emeline, whose warm smiles and hospitality set the tone for what turned out to be an unforgettable evening. Our dining experience was elevated even further by our wonderful waitress, Tiz, who guided us through the menu with expertise and made sure our every need was catered to. The level of service provided was nothing short of outstanding, and it's evident that the staff at this location have truly mastered the art of service. As always, the food at Earls Kitchen was a delight to the senses. Every dish we ordered was not only beautifully presented but also bursting with flavors that left us craving for more. It's clear that the kitchen staff take great pride in their culinary creations, and their attention to detail truly shines through in each dish. One notable aspect of this dining experience was the affordable pricing. Despite the high-quality food and impeccable service, the prices were reasonable, making it an even more attractive choice for a memorable meal. What truly makes Earls Kitchen stand out, apart from its delectable cuisine and top-notch service, is the welcoming and friendly atmosphere that envelops you from he moment you walk in. It's a place where you feel instantly at home, thanks in part to the dedicated team of professionals who go above and beyond to make you feel valued. I would be remiss not to mention a special highlight of our visit. During a previous visit, we had the pleasure of being served by the wonderful waitress, Avielle. To our surprise, she recognized us during this recent visit and took the time to greet us with genuine warmth. This level of engagement and commitment to exceptional service truly impressed me and reinforced my belief in the dedication of the staff at Earls Kitchen. In conclusion, I wholeheartedly recommend Earls Kitchen to anyone seeking a remarkable dining experience. The combination of amazing food, impeccable service, affordable pricing, and a welcoming atmosphere makes this establishment a true gem. Kudos to the incredible team, including Allyson, Emeline, Tiz, and Avielle, who consistently go above and beyond to create memorable moments for their guests.

In my view, Earl's is successful because they do a lot of things that work. It is by far the restaurant that I go to the most often, as a not-super-enthusiastic restaurant-goer, and I go because the experience is consistent and for the most part consistently good. I'm going to set aside for the moment the horrible experience I had recently at the Earl's in Yaletown, and just say that this one at Fir and Broadway is much more what I have always experienced and what I expect. The staff were competent and professional, the food was good and decently priced for this day and age (I usually have some combination of the clam chowder and the Caesar salad, and both of them are among the best that you're going to get at a West Coast chain restaurant), and the space is very inviting and comfortable. This particular one has an open kitchen and a very spacious, bright feel, with low furniture and skylights and tons of windows. Earl's has a diverse enough menu for most people to find something they like, without it being so big that it's out of hand and compromises the quality of the food. Their chocolate sticky toffee pudding will probably be one of the best things you ever ate. There's definitely a reason, or quite a number of reasons, that this is where my husband and I go for every anniversary dinner.

Vegetarian options
They've got quite a few vegetarian options, and some vegan meals as well. Fried tofu tacos and such. I'm not a vegetarian and I haven't paid a ton of attention to this aspect, but I know that they do have these options on their menu.
Dietary restrictions
My husband has always had an easy time finding gluten-free options.
Kid-friendliness
It's not exactly Chuck E Cheese's or McDonald's, but Earl's is pretty good with kids. From what I've seen, kids are welcome, and in fact there were several tables with kids at them when I went this time, and it's a casual enough place that nobody needs to fuss about whether their kid is going to hurt the tablecloth or wreck something by dropping food on it or whatever.
Wheelchair accessibility
All the ones that I've been to accept the one in Yaletown seem to be pretty decently accessible to me.

During my time recently living in North America, I’ve not yet had an experience as welcoming as lunch at Earl’s today. It was the first time I’ve ever had multiple (nearly all) floor staff make an effort to check in on me. This was the tipping point that made me believe Canadian service is better than American service. Ellen was an absolute legend - some might say they sing songs about her, in the halls across the Earl’s universe. I mean, she apparently has been working in this industry for ages; and, alone, the skill of the banter shows. Thank you. Equally, I could list-off the five gentlemen working the floor, who took the time to make me comfortable and provide personable, “human” service. Some might say they are the “One Direction of the Earl’s universe”. (They might even be the ones singing about Ellen, in the Earl’s universe. At least one track on their latest album, I reckon.) However, honestly, I only remember the names of Euan and Jake (Aussie Aussie Aussie!!), sorry lads! Give it a shout when the review is presented, and take your credit where it’s well-deserved. As a former chef of ten years, it’s easy to become critical of restaurants when you’ve earnt your stripes through the hard yards of night-service. The steak was cooked perfectly, the tortellini paired well. There is absolutely no critique here. I reckon I’ve found here, my week-to-week, post-workout treat.

Love the vibe at this Earls. I think of Earls as one of my favourite West Coast Canadian mid-up-scale chains (along with Cactus Club and Joey's). Menus are always solid and interesting. The happy hour menu is a good deal for the same good quality and an even more relaxed time. Sunday has some seafood deals and seems to be the best prices for the salmon entrees but the platter is actually cheaper on the daily happy hour menu. The Santa Fe Chicken Salad is something I have been getting regularly for over a decade. It's one of my worldwide favourites. Tangy sauce coating crisp lettuce, soft and moist chicken, sweet date pieces, smooth feta, crunchy tortilla strips, sweet corn kernels - Yum! The Cajun chicken entree is spicy on the outside. I don't do spice too well and I could have a few bites from a friend but a whole piece would be too much for me. It sometimes works for me in the Santa Fe Chicken Salad but sometimes I ask to swap it out. The white chocolate crème brûlée is amazing - highly recommend. The cheesecake is nice and not too dense for me.

It's been since the early 1990s since I have been here. I do not feel well right now and I know why. We order the crab cakes and I feel they used a lot of MSG as I know the feeling in the back of my mouth/throat. And then I ordered the alfredo Cajun chicken. Again I felt the use of a lot of MSG. Thus I have that awful feeling on my stomach. Feeling like when you have motion sickness. Service was mediocre. Waitress needs to understand customers needs once we have stated a time which we need to be somewhere else. And because of the MSG, I finished my water, and I needed my glass refilled. To the establishment: You need some private guests that the staff does not know and do what a normal average person would. Order accordingly and see what happens to actually review objectively. Please just read my review. It has been over 30 years since I personally gone to Earl's not for any company event. Using my own hard earned money. It may be another 30 years for me to return. I am not sure if I would still be alive then.

We (and others) waited 15-20 minutes to get seated despite many empty tables. We figured it was because they’re understaffed so they don’t want to fill up the restaurant because they couldn’t serve everyone if they did.‍♂️ The small cups of brewed coffee arrived and being my first one of the day, I finished it pretty quickly. There was never any attempt to refill it. The benedicts arrived and I joked that mine was half-eaten before it made it out of the kitchen. The staff noticed and brought out a small plate of extra pavé potatoes so he almost saved this, but all of the potatoes were very cold. We ended up asking them to reheat them. Halfway through brunch, we asked for more coffee, to which the response was that it would be a few minutes because they’re brewing a new batch. We never did get a refill for the duration of the meal.

We had made a reservation as a large group (20+) for a work party and we were very well taken care of by Riley and his colleagues. Riley you’re awesome! You’ll be in good hands from the moment you walk in and you’re greeted and seated by the hostess until the moment your evening comes to an end. Everybody who took care of our tables was on their “A” game last night and hopefully we weren’t too chaotic for the staff but they really made us feel welcomed. The food was sublime, came out relatively fast and the featured drinks were incredible. Desserts were amazing and prepped beautifully. Big shoutout to Emmanuel who was awesome as well! Really lovely guy. All around incredible evening, which shows management cares about the customer experience and the staff take their jobs seriously. We will definitely be back soon.

We came in after 11pm and ordered from the Happy Hour menu. We had three Ahi Tuna Poké Bowls with greens instead of rice, a pair of Spicy Tuna Sushi Tacos, and a pair of Caramelized Vanilla Cheesecakes to share. The food was delectable (the Ahi Tuna Poké Bowls tasted even better during Happy Hour than during regular hours) and the service was efficient. Our server, Avielle, went above and beyond to make our experience personable and as smooth as possible despite a lactose intolerance among one of our guests. We highly commend all the workers who made our visit on 17/08/2023 so special. We will definitely be coming again!

Haven’t been to this Earls since well before covid. I like the renos they did since then that brightens up the space with whites and teals. The back restaurant area was quieter and less crowded than the lounge and patio area, which we enjoyed. Service was friendly but overall slow with drink pours and being checked on. Too bad happy hour ends early at 5pm instead of the more typical 6pm of other places. I gave 4 stars instead of 5 for these reasons. I like that they have a plant based/vegan menu to choose from and am happy they still have the crispy tofu zen bowl (wasn’t listed on the website menu but was in person, phew). The bowl was a bigger portion than I remembered so I was able to take some home. Also ordered their fries which were nice and thin. It was great to go out with girlfriends and enjoy good drinks and good food. Felt almost normal again!

I've been to Earls before but would not go again after the food and experience last night. Poor food quality and poor service, plus long waiting time. Food: Truffle Tortellini + Steak: Tortellini was undercooked. The flour were still a bit raw when I bit into it. The Steak quality were not up to standard, it was super chewy and hard to swallow. Disappointing overall. Surf & Turf - sirloin steak and lobster: the steak was overcooked and the lobster was a little too salty. Vegetables were just bland. Other steaks were also just meh. Service: Server never checked with us after serving the food to ask how everything was. We were also waiting for water refills but he never came by. Attentions were spent on customers on the other side of his area and neglected our side. Overall, I wouldn't go back again and would not recommend.

Coming from Montreal, this restaurant is a great reason to come back! The food (I had the Mushroom vegan pizza) was absolutely delicious and has been a game changer for me; no vegan pizza can compare!! Our server Koi helped us with our choices, was very pleasant, and was a delight to talk to. Very helpful and fun. We went for my sister's birthday and she was beyond happy with the whole experience. This establishment is very pretty and sleek, clean and relaxing. As I said earlier, worth a return to BC from Quebec for. 10/10 experience.

Mel was absolutely charming, engaging and extremely professional. I am one who has some food restrictions and Mel was on top of her game and was more than accommodating, by ensuring my food restrictions were recognized and avoided. The management team were also amazing and along with Mel, made our experience into a very happy birthday. ❤️ Thank you Mel and Earl's, it was a lovely afternoon and looking forward to having another yummy Margarita with some mmmmmmmmm nibbles very soon ❤️

I am on holidays in Vancouver and drove past Earls and my friends and I decided to go in. Wow what a nice place and the server Mel was amazing. She made the experience memorable. Our order was done to perfection. She was so nice to talk to and made sure everything was perfect. Always checking on us and making sure everything was good. I don’t find many servers that care for their customers experience in a restaurant like she did. I would recommend stopping in. Great place, great food, and amazing service. Ask to be seated in Mel’s section you won’t be disappointed.

We went for happy hour today. It’s somewhere everyone can find something to eat. The staff and food are always good. When we finished eating, we told the front staff about a birthday. About 25+ minutes later, a chocolate cake arrived with a candle and card. We weren’t sure they were going to come so we almost got up to leave. The kicker was we were charged for the cake at full price. We only realized when I paid the bill. We were never even asked the type of cake we wanted. If it’s going to be charged at full price, at least ask which dessert should be brought. A nice gesture with cake and card changes direction real fast when you charge.

A great waitress can make a crappie restaurant to a very satisfying experience and vise versa. Everything was excellent except our waitress. Greater, food and restaurant itself was fantastic. Very clean and cluttered free. Stylish and gorgeous view. Foods were so tasty and fresh hot. But waitress! She wasn't pleasant at all. So straight forward to saying no to pretty much anything. Feels like she has been forced to work there. I wish the greater was our waitress then we had a great experience. Parking was available right at front of the restaurant, free and easy. In sunny days parking will be hard to find. Prices are high though comparing to other good restaurants. 3 out of 5 is fair!!

We waited 45 minutes to get our bill while sitting on a scorching hot patio table. We went inside to ask for the bill twice during this period as well, and it still took 20+ minutes after the second time. Unacceptable... We understand servers have their own sections, and they might get caught up with other tables and requests, our server didn't bat an eye to even apologize. We also had to ask for utensils, napkins, water cups, and share plates. Go to Station Square location for better service, or make sure you sit right beside the kitchen if you want attention here. 2 stars goes to the food only.

Visited this Earls yesterday for dinner and was very disappointed with the service we received. The food was good, and pretty consistent with the quality of most Earls locations. They have a new ginger cake dessert that is huge and quite good. The surf and turf is always good. We also tried the tuna poke and I was pretty disappointed with the tiny amount of tuna it came with. The worst part of the experience was the service though. We had a group of 8 and for the first 30 mins we were only given 2 menus. Later when our food arrived, only 2 people had cutlery. We were all drinking and follow up requests for additional drinks were not very consistent.

Earls is fantastic for families or just as a casual dinner with friends. I ordered the poke and my partner ordered a steak with mash. I was so incredibly shocked at how good the poke tasted. Ahi tuna was fresh and the addition of mango added such a nice and different flavour profile to it. Steak was cooked well and the mash tasted very nice! Presentation for the steak could have been a little bit better but it tasted good nonetheless. Service is very nice from the hostess to the server. They also have this cool and convenient feature where you can pay by phone instead of asking the server to bring you the bill. Highly recommended!

Our server Caitlin was amazing!!! she was quick and fun, chatted with us and made the experience so much better. We’ve been to other Earls and we knew what to expect… the food is great and it’s lively; the service definitely makes a difference and if you see this, Caitlin, I wish your friend a happy birthday, hopefully you had fun and we’ll see you again!!

Went to Earl’s for brunch today and missed the last call by 15 or so minutes. My friend wanted the prawn Benedict and we were told we were a bit too late. Our waiter Khoi kindly offered to ask the manager if an exception could be made. He agreed and my friend thoroughly enjoyed her lunch. I had the crab cake entree which was also excellent. Khoi made our lunch experience great, he’s kind, friendly and attentive and willing to go above and beyond for his customers.

Really nice location but Parking is limited and when its busy you will have to find parking and walk up. The weather was nice so I didn't mind the walk. The service was excellent from the hostess to the server. Friendly greeting when we arrived and shown right to our table and the server did a good job checking up on us through out the meal and asking if we needed anything. The food was really good. I always have a good meal at Earls. Honestly never disappoints even in different cities. Everything was perfectly cooked and well made. My salad was delicious and is my new favourite.

  • Janet Robertson

Earls is a mainstay of Vancouver nouveau cuisine dining. Casual fine food, daily drink specials but not an illustrious wine menu. I was disappointed in my Crispy Tofu Zen bowl as I found it had nn flavorful sauce, so I found it dry, boring and no Zen! My friend had the Salmon Bowl and it had a large serving of salmon, which was appreciated, but other than that not so special either. We had the drink specials of 2 Lime Margaritas for the price of 1 which we enjoyed. Nice decor but somewhat noisy atmosphere. $$$ Bon Appetite.

We came for a quick happy hour and Margarita Monday. Mel (Melissa?) was great and had some fine knowledge of the menu and was a perfect table-side presence while making great suggestions. The duty manager Thom came by to touch our table and see how our day was going (slow night, not a crowd). We were impressed (as two Food and Beverage people) with the hospitality

Large lounge/patio area - lots of open space and it’s usually filled. Nice to people watch as well. The food is standard to other Earls. The patio area can get a bit cold but there are heaters and communal blankets. Their new Happy hour at 9pm has brought in lots of regulars including us. Can’t go wrong with $3 highballs and pizzas! The entrees can be a bit pricy off the regular menu. Parking is a bit tough but metered parking outfront. Took us a while to get a spot. Over good food, clean and cool vibe and waiters are friendly!

Happy hours have some great deal, highly recommend the sushi taco, very tasty and refreshing! It has rice, mango, fried prawn with spicy Mayo on top Truffle fries are always the best, the truffle cream is rich with the truffle flavor. I’d say that the margarita pizza from the happy hour menu is the best deal, big enough to split with friends and classic margarita pizza, you won’t be disappointed!! The drink I got was Lime Mojito, it’s pretty basic, not bad.

Great service! Ordered to go for the first time, I wasn't sure what are the good options for to go (trying to avoid soggy bread or dried noodle), and the waitress made very constructive recommendations. Packaging: I was quite surprised to see there was a hand written note on the to go bag and the label of the food containers, just wow me at how much thought was put in by the earls team Food quality The food quality is consistently above the par. Conclusion: I've been there couple more times since my first order LOL

Honestly one of the most beautiful earls locations ever. Staff was SO professional. From the moment I walked in my experience was 10/10 to the moment I left. The service by Georgina was incredible, I can’t say enough good things about her. She was attentive, knowledgeable, incredibly hospitable & super honest, not to mention I felt like we became best friends because she is so personable. Earls you are lucky to have this girl. Over the past three decades I have been dining at Earl's on Fir with family and friends sitting inside and outside. The service, food quality and price has always been consistent. Management has always treated me well. Today was my first first visit during the pandemic though we have ordered take. So happy to enjoy the new 40 seat outdoor patio. This should be a keeper to at least the Fall. Looking forward to my next visit with people in addition to those outside of my household.

First time trying Earls, decor is great, great ambience, nice to have free parking in front. Food was okay, had the rib and Cajun chicken, clam chowder, and truffle tortellini. Tastes fine, just doesn't standout. Chicken was good, ribs just felt average. The potato and salad was fine. Just don't think it was worth the $36.

Food was good but after we left I had a strange call from their manager. He said I had left without paying. I pointed out that I had paid by CC and the server had confirmed my payment. He responded in astonishment saying "oh you paid by card?!" He then said 'one moment' and promptly dropped the call. Obviously he had the wrong person when he called me but the way he treated this transaction was very disappointing from a local eatery.

Wow, we walked in expecting a diner and found an experience. The found was delicious! One of the best steaks I've had in a restaurant. It was perfectly seasoned and cooked to perfection. My wife and daughter also really enjoyed the grilled chicken cesar salad and pizza. The service was outstanding. We plan on visiting Earl's again when we come back to Vancouver in the summer!

Came for dinner on wing Weds. We were immediately seated. We tried the Vegan Shroomami bowl w/ tofu, salmon dinner w/ mash, and the cajun chicken Caesar. Everything was perfect, plating was beautiful. Drinks were promptly refilled, service was attentive but not annoying. Maddie was our server for the evening and she was great, 5/5. Everyone from the hosts in front to the cooks in the back made our experience wonderful.

It's fine. There's nothing amazing here, but nothing awful either. They do a better than average job of creating a menu with something for everybody. This is a good place to bring a large party with varied tastes and requirements. It's a bad place to bring a connoisseur. Small changes that would make a difference: cook meat a little less, and don't use bread or buns that are older than 18 hours.

We had a great time. This was the second time in that we had Kaveh as a server - he is just wonderful. So friendly and accommodating. Thank you for a lovely experience!

I eat at this Earls location pretty often and I love the environment and energy every time, My favorite drinks are the Coconut mint margarita and the frozen guava margarita! This time I ordered a burger with the vegan bun (pretty good) and the new chicken sandwich, both were really tasty and will probably order again.

The waiters and waitresses are usually very professional at this place. Your glass of water is always taken care of, and your servers comes and check in with you quite frequently. When I asked for some spices to add on to my meal, there were 5 options to choose from, I liked that. (At other places only tabasco or siracha is available) Our waiter, Lucas did everything to make us feel satisfied.

If you come here for hanging out with friends, it's a nice place. But If you come here for food, you can have better choices. I ordered a roasted salmon, and it's extremely salty. But the staffs were very helpful and friendly, they came to ask about the food regularly, so they replaced a new one for me right away.

Terrible service, it's like the waitress forgot our table existed. Took forever for the food to come and when it did, it was cold. It took our server 20 min + me having to ask her to come to our table so that we could pay the bill (they closed 10 min prior).

Amazing time, good food, and most of all GRACE is the all star server that everyone should get to experience. My friend and I were busy catching up, and Grace made sure to visit us multiple times to confirm when we were ready to order. Grace had the right tempo of checking in with us and it made our time at Earls amazing!

Jarod was a fantastic server and held the plates well. We had a lovely time here and enjoyed the special Wednesday steak deal. We will definitely be back next Wednesday for wings. We accidentally tipped the wrong amount and were horrifed and couldn't move but the manager was understanding, sweet and accomodating. We reached a solution and we had a great night.

My friends and I will be talking about the dinner we had at Earls Fir Street last night for years to come. Our server was incredibly attentive, personable, and welcoming - I can't say enough good things about our entire experience! The bar has definitely been set for all birthday dinners to come.

Kyle our server was hands down the best server I have ever had in any restaurant. I don’t expect much going to places these days but he was on top of everything. Always checking and coming over when our drinks were starting to get low or with anything we needed. Top notch service from this guy!

Pretty cool and unique decor. They have almost garage-like sliding doors that separate the main dining area from the “covered patio”. Lots of tv’s, but still very upscale. Our server Gave Great service. She handled every obstacle very well and made genuine conversation. I def will be recommending this location and visiting every time im in town.

5 stars for the blonde guy working the dining section on Sunday the 30th! Had a large and slightly difficult to serve family and he did a great job attending to all our needs. We all talked about how he did a really great job and was super friendly with our table! Would prefer him as our server next time.

Great food. The ambience is also fantastic. This location is quite popular, plus they close off half of the restaurant- at least on weekdays - so without a reservation, a table seating is not always available. We sat at the bar, in front of the stone oven, it was still warm and cozy. Very nice! Recommended to make a reservation if you can!

Went on Valentine’s night so it was busy but the service was great as was the food. We loved our server. Drinks were delicious. If you ever wonder whether to go for prawns or lobster tail with your steak, I’d say lobster hands down. The peppercorn sauce is also amazing. We got complementary chocolate covered strawberries.

  • Sherees44

We had a half hour wait, but to be expected as we went during busy lunch hour. Service was great, in and out within an hour! I ordered something simple, a chicken salad, but it was delicious. I haven't been to Earl's for a very long time, but next time in Vancouver, I will definitely go back for dinner next time …

Nice modern upscaled location this one specifically. Lots of seating, and never a long wait. They have an Earl's dedicated parking lot (free) with about 30 spots so that's an added bonus! Steak was great, fish tacos portion size seemed small for the prices, bacon burger slightly messy but good.
