We have lived 15 minutes away from this park for over 20 years and never even knew it was here! Ever since discovering it, it has been our go-to park for fishing/playing with the kids! Love it! It's the best! On our most recent trip to the park (5-30-21) they had upgraded the playground area to include a fence surrounding the whole thing... now if only there was more than one bench for parents to sit on! There are six very prominent nice shade trees in the playground it would be awesome if they added a bench under each for all the parents to sit on...That is literally the one & only con/suggestion I would give for this park.

Well they finished the walking trail "simply marvelous darling" beautiful scenery lake Canadian geese ...with babies fun to watch . plus with a missouri fishing license you can catch fish the bigest i have caught 5#.fun place lots of area 3 baseball / ⚽ fields.but alas no toilets have been put back yet.they now have portable potties...a good start.they always make me think of my high scool days, when my group of guys was around alot of people would think twice before going into a moveable box full of sewage and no windows ... They started haveing friends stand guard while in use.

I would have given this park 5 stars, but I just can’t. The park itself is beautiful and fun to play at, the lake is fun to fish in. I absolutely love the geese and ducks that are everywhere. But the neighboring houses, have some rude people. There was a gun fired off yesterday, towards the park all because a man didn’t like the race of a very nice family that was fishing. I think the city should get involved. The cops were called but I’m not sure what was done about the situation. Overall, good park but don’t be surprised if a gun is fired off and yelling occurs.

This is one of the coolest parks. They have been upgrading the play area looking good. They put in a bunch of pps...:portable potties". And don't forget the fishing is great good 5 lb catfish i don't know about other fish i only hunt cats... Alot of people park on the hill and enjoy the view of the lake.the walking trail is marvelous darlink go enjoy it and thank me later...but watch for the grand canyon pot hole in the road which i do beleive will be repaird as soon as construction ceases and the heavy equipment ceases to beat up the road

Although the playground was set up strangely, my son and nephews had a GREAT time! The playground is near a lake but it does have a fence mostly around it. Paved walkways for leashed animals and baby strollers. Plenty of seating outside of the fence for picnics with provided tables and PLENTY of trashcans. When you have a baby, those are so helpful to be near. I did not see a convenient bathroom or even a bathroom. My brother-in-law said he thinks there is one, but not near the playground.

We went here for a Birthday cookout for myself and we had a nice time. They really fixed it up. It was clean, there is a bathroom ( port-a -potty) No covered picnic areas though( would be nice in a Hot sunny day) only thing I would change. Lot a people fishing ( must have a license to fish though) has a nice place for kids to play and it's fenced in. All around one of the nicer places to go ..Oh, they also have a grill to cook on too.

Mama's used to be good, bite into something that's supposed to be soft and it's actually hard. Hurt my mouth trying to bite into fried dumpling. Plus once again their prices went up. Pretty soon I'm going to be paying $15 for dinner. One thing I will not do is tip at a buffet, they just bring you your drink and that's it. I don't know if it's any cook or what but the food needs to be like it's supposed to be unsatisfied customer

Good place to come has ballfields playground and a fishing lake. If you come for the fishing and your luck is good you will catch on average 13in channel catfish, the biggest I have caught was 17in. If your luck really good you will also catch your limit of 4 catfish per day. I have caught my limit Every time I have gone but I have also grown up fishing this lake so I know the tricks to catching them. Have fun and enjoy.

This place now has a fence all the way around the playground and the playground has been redone. I recommend this park especially now that it’s been fenced in. The equipment isn’t my favorite but it is awesome how close to a pond it is. On a nice day you can do playground and see the water with ducks, fish etc. I don’t recall a close bathroom and there isn’t covered patio tables near the playground but parking is close.

Very spacious and beautiful. Nice little lake with channel cat, perch, turtles, not sure what all its stocked with but my 2 boys had a great time fishing on the 4th of July and setting of some fireworks. I was having so much fun I spaced off getting pictures. Highly recommend for family fun or just fishing by yourself. Please remember to clean up after yourself and leave it as beautiful as when u got there..

  • Nicholas Pappageorge (Nicky Nick)

I only stopped here to eat lunch. Virtually no shady parking. It's a pretty little park though. Looks like they have their little pond stocked so you might find some fatties in there. Other than that, without exploring too much I didn't see anything else too noteworthy.
Playground
Very small, not too many options for the kids
Picnic area
A couple tables in between the parking lot and pond

  • Sean C

Beautiful park with a great parking sideline to watch over little ones play and run around. It isn't fenced or anything but there is a nice lovely pond or small waterfront area to fish in and do catch and release in. I like the newly updated playground area that was installed and that there's a ton of open space for picnics and BBQ'S. Overall my family and I had a great time here and plan to come back.

  • Mike Radabaugh

Very nice trails in the forest along N Troost and if you are up for an adventure, you can follow the creek south of the lake. The only access is from mid N Troost trail to the right (West). An opening in the forest of 45 feet wide shows 2 deer trails amongst a babbling stream and trees. This trail is grass and dirt at best. Really peaceful place. Also there are new playground spaces for the Kids.

  • Nathan Young

Didn't spend too much time at the park. It was a spur of the moment "Let's take the kids somewhere new" ordeal. The playground looked amazing and clean. The lake was smaller than expected (only about 30 foot across where we fished). My son did catch a bluegill, but that was the highlight. I can say that once it cools down, Englewood Park would be a great day out for the entire family.

  • Jackson Osten

Great place to fish but irecomend coming late at night to fish for catfish. We use chicken liver and have caught four so far. They seem to bite around 7:00 to midnight when park closes. There are some big cat fish too we had one 1 over 2 feet. There are little dirt areas that make it easier to fish from and are flat. I recommend only cat fishing because all the bluegill are 2 inches .

  • RICHARD SALYER

Great place to fly a kite! If I can't take 20 minutes out of my day for myself to fly a kite then I probably have spent too much time doing things for others and trying to please everyone. So my advice is to take time out of your day and do something you Like or something that will put a smile on your face or get the endorphins working!

  • Eugene Matthews

This was a nice, quiet (inexpensive) day out with kids! Although we were not successful fishing, other people were and we did get some nibbles. Best of all (for the 6yr old) there was a playground with plenty of activities! If you’re not into fishing (or playgrounds) you can enjoy a leisurely walk around the lake and the local area.

  • Mark O'Dell

This park has lots of green space, walking trail, trees, baseball field, football field, play-set, and a small lake with fish. Our nickname for this park is “poop park”, because there’s so many Canadian geese that make it their home seemingly all year. In the winter if there is good snow we go sledding on the south side of the park.

  • M. Whitmore

I like this park cause while others are packed this one isn't cause people forget about it. I would of given 5 stars out but they taken my favorite bench out. Think if with the space there is some money that we pay for should add a little more playground equipment and maybe even a trail around the park like what Penguin Park.

  • Douglas Porter

It is a quaint park that is growing... They have a new jogging trail that I'm ust needs the finishing touches. Great fishing in a stocked lake great for night fishing . i have caught up to 5.5 lbs channel cats. I don't. Know about other kiinds. The plsyground is up to date.there are no restrooms.base balll diamond is well kept

  • Mike the Pirate

Great playground for the kids, It's a nice change from Penquin Park and it's usually much less crowded, No public bathrooms however so it does limit the amount of time you can spend there. I hear there is good fishing at the pond. This park also features baseball with lots of parking but be sure to bring a chair for yourself.

  • Christi K

Beautiful, well maintained, and peaceful environment. I saw a couple young otters playing across the pond, you have to look very close to tell them apart from the many turtles poking their heads up to take a breath. Look for the wakes, and you'll see them, if you're lucky, near sunset. Happy Nature spotting to you!

  • Dustin Martinez

I do enjoy this park and have a family BBQ there once every other week. It's close by, clean, and even has a fishing pond. One drawback, that I'd like to see changed, is the bathroom. A temporary bathroom is better than none, but a permanent one would make this a 5 star. I'm happy with the park, regardless.

  • John Boone

LOTS of space for frisbee or playing catch, jogging, etc. Or spend the day fishing in a few little lakes. There are two play areas, nothing as large/new as Penguin Park, but still very nice. The parking lot is a walk from the play areas - but you can park along the road.

  • April Norman

Would like to see a path way to the pond for the disabled somewhere they to can enjoy the pond just like everyone else. As a disabled person I love the stocked pond but the Journey and lack of lights keeps me away it was my favorite fishing spot but not anymore

  • Tiffany T

Beautiful park. Has a fun playground, a small lake that it looks like you can fish in, picnic tables and some ball fields. Only reason I didn't give it five stars is because there isn't a single bathroom. With kids that is a problem.

  • Rosalynn Mccord-Bey

I wish that there were restrooms, but I still like it. There's enough space for my dog to get a good run. We also like to walk around the lake. There's a nice playground for the little ones. And I always see people out the fishing.

  • Erin

Beautiful park! I love the landscape of this park. The trail is paved and relatively easy but offers plenty of beautiful views. But you know me, I like to veer off the path and head into the wilderness and that NEVER disappoints.

  • Kevin Unroe

This place is a get away from the busy life from the city . includes a pleasant pond for fishing. Nice baseball fields. Very scenic. Only problem is the portal toilet keeps getting vandalized. Otherwise good for kids and adults.

  • Taylor Bode

lots of great wildlife I love visiting this park. There is something for everyone, you can fish or walk a little trail, the little leagues use the football and soccer fields but if they aren't there people have their own games!

  • Jeremy B

Great park, lots to do. A very good playground for kids, two baseball fields, a football field and a basketball court. The lake is a great place to go fishing and there is a nice bike/hike trail through the park.

  • Katelyn White

Park is beautiful and quiet. Met with family here recently and was able to with plenty of social distance. I'm sad yet happy to see the park has closed off the playground to prevent further spread of covid.

  • Silvia Silva

It's a good place, I'll be back for sure. They have barbecue and fishing facilities. But the sidewalk has to improve conservation. And you also have to be more careful with the park. I'm little leaving out.

  • Veronica Bolton

This park is OK. I love the little pond next to it. I wish the playground was a little bit bigger and more accommodating to all children’s types but it’s a cute little thing to visit for a little bit.

  • jusTodd

Nicely kept park in the burbs with kids play equipment, a ball diamonds, and a lake some fish in, but I wouldn't eat any of that fish. New parking lot replaced a creepy bathroom. No facilities now.

  • Ken Englander

I usually go to parks to walk my dog, so I am not a big fan of this park for the lack of trails for that. The road next to the park is nice but the parking is a little inconvenient to get to it.

  • Deborah Peek

Be careful of the temperature of the equipment. The benches were scorching. They need heat reducing colors on them instead of dark green. The equipment was also very warm. Maybe warning signs?

  • Jerry Oldie

A great little place to ride your bike over, enjoy a sandwich, and watch the clouds. Theirs a lot to see in KC. So get out and enjoy some of the parks. Thats what they are for....

  • Chris Decker

A lovely little park. There's a fishing lake, picnic area with a grill, a playground, and a sportsball field. There's just no restroom facility of any kind, not even a portajohn.

  • Mr Mysterious

This is a very peaceful place. I mean the geese are kind of a-holes. But it's a good part that just sit and watch nature and clear your head. I enjoy having my lunch break here

  • Bethany Perry

A nice quiet spot in the middle of the city. Easy access, a nice place to sit next to the lake, a nice playground and a couple picnic tables. A new bike path just opened too

  • kerese Green

I love it and our girls love it The porta potty has made a big difference in being able to enjoy the park . We love the lake and the walking trail around it. It's beautiful

  • ⲊϯⲁⲅϬⲁⲍⲉⲅ

Huge pond, nice walking trail, 2 pokestops and a gym(Pokemon GO), 2 playgrounds, it's a great place to relax and mingle with locals outdoors.
Restrooms
No restrooms.

  • Chris Ford

Great for outdoorsy activities. Doesn't ever seem to be too busy. Great fishing for kids. Would give it a 5 if there were bathrooms and people would leave their dog poop.

  • Amit Suri

It was good recommend catfish fishing cause the bluegill are a inch big ver good little park do to some fishing and to hang out wish the catfish were bigger though

  • Anthony James

I've never been here before, so coming for the first time was really good, getting to explore the outdoors and with so much land was a very beautiful site to see

  • Angela Miner

Nice little park! Lovely lake & kids play area. Parking is limited, road needs some repairs, & they need more than 2 picnic tables. Overall a nice, scenic area.

  • Ed Renfro

Nice park for those not handicap or aged. Should have walkway complete the hilltop loop and have paved access to and along the pond with a small fishing pier.

  • Mister Jordon4018

This is a very nice place to picnic with the family and friends quiet too, a baseball field and fishing for those who do like to do activities. …

  • Joshua Trnka

Its a great family park its little but still fun and the lake being right there is an added bonus. Only down sides is no bathroom or shelter if it rains

  • Susan Sottoriva

It was beautiful! Slightly chilly, yet beautiful! There were a few people fishing, walking around the lake, and a small family with there kids playing!

  • Cori

A pretty & serene park. It is well maintained & kept up. There's a walking trail, a pond, & 2 ball fields. I went to sit & have a nice outdoorsy meal.

  • Brandon Lancaster

My Dad had taken me there as a kid, so had to take my son there. Still a great place to fish even 30 some years later. My Dad was smiling down on us.

  • Terex Davis

This is a great park to take walks, throw a football, and sit and chat with friends and family.
Playground
Great playground for kids to play.

  • Lynn Monger

The only thing that could be better is if the geese didn't poop everywhere
Playground
It's modern
Picnic area
There's lots of tables

  • yami C

I like walking here, the trees makes it a nice shade. It's not crowded, wish it was a little longer but if you do 2 rounds you can get 4 miles in.

  • Sharon Watson

It was alright, seems to be for much younger children and babies, but my babies enjoyed it. No lights and dusk, penguin park is a lot better!

  • Jim Stokes

It's pretty quiet for being in the middle of Gladstone. Though I can't say I've ever caught anything 8n the pond. Nice place to walk. …

  • C.J Miser

Spacious park with a pond, playground, sporting fields, and a concrete pathway to assist the handicapped in the open outdoor experience!

  • Sara G

The setting is very pretty with a lot of trees and a small pond. The play equipment is decent and my 3 year old son did have fun there!

  • Holly Hefner

It is actually pretty nice except for trash everywhere. Lots of turtles to steal your bait. Saw the biggest Beaver I've ever seen.

  • Stephanie Whaley

Usually pretty clean. Never seems to be a lot of people there, that's why I choose this one allot. There's geese that are cute too

  • Berenice Aguirre

Enjoyed a little picnic next to the pond watching the geese near by. Afterward headed to play area. Nice, quiet, family friendly

  • Clarke Henry

Great little park, super zen, dogs love it, fishings legal
Dog-friendliness
On leash but plenty of space and zero drama

  • Holli Naylor

No bathrooms but we like the new playground. A stocked fishing pond and ball fields make this a nice park to take the family.

  • Lawrence Lyons

I enjoy this park. New playground, walking trail, fishing and the grass is mostly always mowed. Cool little spot to chill.

  • Ryan Fowler

Not a bad park. Fishing is terrible though, way too many turtles stealing your bait. Turns into a stoner hangout at dark.

  • kelly lange

Nice walking trail added this past few years. Little play area. You can even fish here but don't expect much. …

  • Vanessa Fantoni
