    "So I brought my car from this company back in March, less than 6 weeks later all my sensors went , check engine light was on and tyre present lights came on , clearly this car had issues when it was sent home to me, they gave me a courtesy car with the tyre pressure light on telling me it was normally and ok to drive when in fact it had a nail in the tyre , this could have been very dangerous when I was driving on the motorway, luckily I pulled over, on top of that when I got my car back clearly either it had been used as a courtesy car or someone at the Essex car company had driven my car and had an accident ,there was scratches all over it and a dent in the same bit on top of that they done a dodgy paint job on my door where it had clearly been damaged and used the paint colour paint , the sensors in the back seat have now gone again so I will be taking all these issues further , I won’t even waste my time going back to this company, god knows what state it would come back in if I would , these people don’t know what customer service is and if I could give my car back I would AVOID THIS COMPANY"

I've delayed in writing this review, because I wanted to get the first service and MOT out of the way. They went fine. The process of buying a car from Essex Car Company however, was not fine. We bought a Ford Focus Estate in November. It had a few more miles on it than advertised based on the fact it had been used as a courtesy car. I decided to overlooked that, and give them the benefit of the doubt. A couple of days of having the car and I noticed grinding going into 5th gear... I booked it into the garage and sure enough, it needed a new synchro. Annoying, but that's what warranty is for right? The warranty company were terrible, and requested that I pay out of pocket for a gearbox specialist to take the gearbox apart to photograph the broken part so they could cover it with warranty. This would have been hundreds in labour cost alone. Why Essex Car Company tried to sell this car on with a faulty gearbox, I don't know. I called ECC and asked to return the vehicle - but instead they offered to replace the gearbox, and so after 3 weeks of having the car (and ~100 mile round trip), I returned it for repair. During the time the car was with ECC, I had to drive back and forth 3 times; accumulating almost 300 miles of driving for courtesy cars etc. Fast forward a couple of MONTHS, to mid January, we finally got the car back with a refurbished gearbox.. possibly? I say possibly, because we never actually got any receipt for services or any proof of works completed. The grinding is gone, but a lot left up to trust. Honestly, the car is alright - I'm happy with it. The service from ECC however was terrible. I would definitely not use them again. To add insult to injury, I left my nice ray bans in one of the courtesy cars, and they were obviously never seen again, even after I called the dealership to let them know, 10 minutes after I'd left. Car: 2/5 Service: 0/5 AVOID.

Highly recommend these guys. Service was first class. As a female entering the “car showroom world” can be quite a daunting experience. I came across this dealer via the web as I had seen a car that I really liked and needed re-assurance this was who I wanted to buy my car from. I did some research into the company to ensure it wasn’t a “pop up garage” as I hadn’t heard of them as they were not local to me. Having satisfied myself they were a reputable dealer, i made contact. Al was the salesman I dealt with from the initial enquiry to the actual purchase. I found the consistency of dealing with the same person helpful without having to repeat myself as you do in some garages about your budget, requirements etc. I attended for a test drive, and felt very at ease with Al. Al was very straight talking, helpful with no hard sales lines which I really appreciated and respected. I decided to buy the car. Again, Al was approachable in securing a good price as I had seen a similar car elsewhere so presented that as a price comparison . The company arranged for the car to be valeted, completed a general service and notified me the car was ready for collection. I arrived close to closing time as stuck in traffic en-route. Al and the manager stayed late to explain everything to me before signing the paperwork ensuring I was satisfied with every element of my purchase, this was really assuring that customer care is paramount to this company and the staff. Excellent service all round. Absolutely no hesitation in recommending these guys. Really pleased with my lovely new car!

Don't buy a car from these people. We spent all day tying up a deal with a £24,000 car. Sorted all our finance out etc. I have a small baby so this was extremely hard work. We agreed a sale and part exchange of our car. The car we were buying needed some work and they agreed this with a signed document. We were told it would take approximately two weeks. 4 days in my partner decided to call them to check in to see if they had made a start... knowone knew anything about it. We then get a call a few hours later saying the car we were buying wasn't safe and had gear box error and therefore they were contacting the previous owner for them to take it back. What?? You let me test drive it twice with my 5 month baby strapped in the back?? Actually... don't you put every car through a check before you buy it? Yes you do... as you did our kuga. So actually what we believe is they sold it to someone else because they decided they would rather not get the work done on it... ie the dented, scrapped panel along the back side. If my partner had not of called when were they going to tell us? We were sat here excited waiting for a first family car to arrive. These people can't be trusted... lies and untrustworthy. Disgusting... AVOID.

Very disappointing experience. Bought a Nissan Pulsar from these cowboys, first week - engine light on. Sent back, crank-shaft sensor changed, back again, same problem, changed again. Mechanic with me said he was worried about timing chain and expressed this to Essex car company who said ‘dunno what mechanic he is’ Anyhow, 5 months down the line, engine light on AGAIN, same sensors. Guess what? Stretched timing chain!!! Not impressed. Wouldn’t recommend. The service book was fraudulently stamped with a ‘sliver service’ unfortunately I’m dyslexic so didn’t read the spelling error. Called garage re service history and they had never seen the car. Anyhow all I’ve got out of it is 6 months warranty which won’t cover the timing chain anyway. Waste of time and money. Chris - good sales man, gift of the gab. Don’t listen. Please feel free to call me if you actually want to help me have a reliable car (I am a domiciliary carer so it is a MUST) So upset and disappointed. 9K down the pan. Amir was hopeless at getting back to me and helping to sort out anything. DO NOT TOUCH THIS COMPANY, you will be disappointed, also the amount of dodgy cars they probably pick up in that area. You live and learn right!

Helpful when they want a sale (obviously, I get that) but the complete opposite when it comes to service after the sale!! Firstly, made me fall in love with the car and agree to do the deal when my boyfriend noticed they made a mistake that the car actually had an extra 10,000 miles! Fine, they did an oil and filter service to make up for it.. I was annoyed but let it go. H then promised he'd sort out an extra key for the car as it only came with one and they can get them cheaper. I called for the extra key as the battery in the key died after a couple of weeks and was promised it would be sorted within a week and I'd receive a call back. No call.. After making numerous calls upon calls, after 8 weeks, I've given up chasing H and going to buy the key from the main dealer. It's not about getting the key cheaper, I'm just not a fan of poor service and expect more, especially after purchasing a car from them. That was first and the last time I use Essex car compny.

I had been looking at buying a new car for a while as my current Ford contract was coming to an end. I went to a few Mercedes dealerships. I went to various Ford dealerships as they was promising ‘great deals’ every single time I was let down. They never listened to me and just wanted to give me the sales pitch on how it’s a good idea to get a PCP when I specifically said I don’t want it.. I was getting really fed up.. I went to Essex Car Company and was greeted by H (Hamzah). I can honestly say I have never met such a friendly outgoing person who goes to extreme lengths to help his customers! After a long time of searching H helped get the car I wanted and at a much lower price than all these Merc/Ford dealerships who just want to rip you off! I would absolutely recommend anybody to go to Essex Car Company! You cannot meet a nicer bunch of lads who’s objective is to ensure their customers are happy! Thank you so much H and team!

If I could give -5stars I would! SOLD A FAULTY CAR TO ME! I bought a car from this company in 02/22. The car was in a very dirty condition, had missing parts and damages inside the car that weren't mentioned in the description or shown on the pictured online. I agreed to a lower price and bought the car. Shorty after I realised that the A/C wasn't working, also a door handle came off and after a few month the car suddenly stopped working in the middle of the road. I couldn't turn it back on and had to call AA. Essex Car Company didn't pay me back for the A/C, door Handle fixing costs (even though it happened in the warranty time) and I didn't get any money for the money I had to spend on fixing the car (as it didn't work at all anymore/just a few days after the warranty ended). They sold me a none roadworthy car and I didn't get any money back.

Disappointed! Seriously disappointed, I bought a 1.2 automatic corsa 2013 from this company. I was initially very happy with the service I had been given, the gentleman that sold the car to me was very polite and helpful. Everything was great as the car had just been MOT a week before I bought it. 7 months down the line, engine management light comes on, car stops working whilst driving, car engine shaking ect. Called the company to see if there was anything they could do to help me, NOTHING! Got told I had 3 months warranty and I had the choice to extend it for 4 years at extra corsa and unfortunately I did not take this warranty (Regret this as I didn’t think that a WHOLE engine would of STOPPED working in less than a year and the mileage was only 21000) Advise for anyone that wants to buy from this company, AT YOUR OWN RISK. Never again!

Literally the worst car sales people ever bought my car, had a few issues so took it back eventually ended up going back about 2/3 times with the same problem.. they waited til their 3 month warranty was up to then jog me on for their 'good will gesture' a 6 month AA membership so they don't have to deal with me! While on the phone to them telling them about yet another problem whoever I spoke to forgot to put me on hold! So I personally wouldn't trust a thing they say 'tell her this' 'ah for god sake tell her we'll do something as a good will gesture or something' as a what I thought respected customer I did not expect to get spoken about like that! Absolutely disgusting 4 months on still occurring problems they would do a thing about! DO NOT BUY YOUR CARS FROM HERE!!!

Like you very much at the start of contact but thereafter once they’ve got your money they do not care whatsoever. I part exchanged my vehicle and was assured there and then that they would complete paperwork and make sure it was taken out of my name however none of this was done resulting in letters and a fine from the DVLA!! When called they turned around and rudely said that they wouldn’t want anything to do with this and I should have done this however the logbook was handed to them at point of collecting my new car so I would’ve been unable to do this either way. Very disappointed with the service as it shouldn’t change after the sale is completed but they seem to just care and like you before they get their money! Stand clear I would say for sure!

I had seen my dream car on auto trader, contacted the dealership and I was offered to view the car with a test drive as well. I spoke to Amir before I went up, gave some details to check if the finance would go through. He was very polite and explained everything in detail. He then called back and said it had all been accepted. The process was virtually hassle free, Vickie Lawless took me through all the finance offers and deals and even got me a very decent and very low rate for the car. I drove away, leaving my old car behind that same day! Needless to say, I am so happy with my new car and very happy with the professionalism and swiftness of the whole procedure! Thank you Essex Car Company!

‘Essex Car’ did not handle my matter professionally. When they arranged a date for me to see the car, I’ve specifically, took a day off, however, when I reached the place, Chris from Sales mentioned saying the car is not at the premises. From that instance, I felt disappointed, since I drove all the way for 1 hour and 30 minutes each way. I took a couple of days off next week, to come and check for the car, but they always says the car is not ready because it has some issues and which they will let me know, but it never happened as well. Overall experience was disappointing and I felt that I have waisted my time. In my opinion, I cannot recommend them to anyone.

I recently got my first car here on finance and the staff here made it really easy for me. They explained everything really well and gave me options in order to save as much money as I could. Al was who helped me when choosing a cat, he showed me so many different cars that he thought I would like, let me take them for test drives, and really helped me with his knowledge of all the cars. Everyone who works there is really friendly and helpful, especially Al who was really trying to get the best deal possible for me. I’m so happy with my purchase and would recommend this place 100% the service was excellent and they were really helpful.

would not recommend anyone to use this dealership! the car had several problems within 7 days of having the car and this company refused to take the car back and I am now having to start legal proceedings. I was also told that the car had a spare keys but it is with the previous owner and I will have it in a few days its now been over 2 weeks and I have still not been provided with the spare keys, I would not ever use this dealership again, I have taken the car to an independent garage and had to get a diagnostics test done and the car came back with several faults which could not have been done by driving the car for just 7 days.

Bought my car over a week ago but wanted to see how the car got on before leaving a review. Amir was very helpful and patient. Went through everything with me answering any questions I had, great customer service. Bought my vehicle and was very happy with it but have recently heard a noise when braking which I have a feeling may be the brake pads. Will get them checked this week and will contact essex cars to see what they can do. Few minor things that need to check with the car. Again customer service was very good and was offered some after sales care but will contact them with regards to brakes and minor issues

Bought a 5 series back in May, after around a month the car developed a coolant leak that despite 4 visits to ECC they were unable to resolve. Up to this point I could not fault there customer service. Special mention to Tony who did go above and beyond to make my life as easy as it could be. However as the problem was still unresolved and after a letter from ECC I decided enough was enough and wanted to return the car. However the owner I still don't think offered me a fair price to buy the car back from me. Overall I did feel disappointed with ECC and thought the case could have had a better conclusion.

Went here on Saturday and was served by Reece, he is a very genuine, nice person who made it his mission to make everything as straightforward as possible. The pricing was very competitive (I had been to a main dealer and would have paid the same price for the same car that was two years older and had higher mileage) I got a great finance despite the fact that my part ex still had outstanding finance which was more than the value of the car, and I got to drive away on the same day. I am head over heels for my new car and will definitely be returning to Essex Car Company, when I'm ready for my next one.

When I was interested in the car Chris seemed really nice and keen to speak with me, finding out personal details etc. However, once I said I wasn't interested his demeanour completely changed. I asked for the deposit back (Chris had told me to put the deposit down even though I hadn't seen the car) as I am entitled to and he made me feel like I was in the wrong. It has been 8 days and I am still waiting for my deposit back. Every time I have called them, they have said that its in process and a few times they have hung up. Terrible customer service, only care about you if you're going to buy the car.

Very unprofessional dealer. I made an appointment to have a look at and test drive one of their cars. We arrived on time, and started inspecting the car. Only after a few minutes, a family turned up out of blue and started looking at the same car. They soon took over and didn't give us any space. I said to the sales person I am not happy about it as I made an appointment and we should be allowed to look at the car on our own. He chose to do nothing about it. Instead, he left us and started paying more attention to them. In the end, I had to stop and say I am no longer interested.

Excellent garage. Mainly dealt with Chris who was superb and very helpful but eveyone else was very friendly and knew my name. Purchased a great car (Ford Focus Zetec S) and the process was very slick. One thing to note, if you are taking the 5 day driveway insurance with them, and you want to collect your car in the morning before 10am, the Insurance needs to be registered the day before. Otherwise, you can just do it the morning of collection and driveway after 10am. I would highly reccomend ECC to anyone looking for a quality car and excellent customer service. Thank you !!

We let them know that we wanted to look at a specific car a couple of days in advance of our visit. We got there, and despite being told that the car was ready to view, it was wedged in behind three ranks of cars, against a wall. It had not even been cleaned out, and the pictures put on the website didn't get close to showing the damage done to the inside of the car. There was also part of the external door handle missing. To be fair to the chap who was trying to sort something out for us, he was very pleasant and as helpful as he could be.

We were served by Reece, who helped us find the best car that suited our needs. He was patient with us, and never pressured us. He left us to work out what car was best for us, took us for a test drive and answered all our questions easily without complaint. If he didn't know the answer he promptly went to find out and came back to us. We had a hiccup due to the late hour and he suggested an alternative and stuck with what he said he was going to do. We are very happy with our purchase and with the service ECC.

Avoid this dealership! Despite decent photos and reassurance from the salesman that the vehicle was in good condition once the purchase was completed several issues came to light that led me to requesting a full refund. Having spoken to the manager I was told this would have to be put in writing and although this has been done I have received no acknowledgement and the company still has my money despite already re advertising the vehicle. I am now looking at taking legal action to recover my funds.

My husband and I went looking for a new car and remembered that their was a car place on the A1306 Essex car company, we found what we we're looking for straight away. Al one of the friendly sales team approached us and said that we could sit in the car to see how it felt and looked inside, even though we didn't buy straight away we did come back a little later to test drive and decided to buy. We are very happy with our car and would definitely recommend to anyone looking to buy one in the future.

After being told my vehicle was only worth a small amount for part exchange, which was lower than we buy any car valuation and that it can only be forwarded onto another dealer as they dont sell those types of cars they put the car up for sale, marked up at double the price. I was not happy. I feel like I have been ripped off and would not recommend them to anyone. Although it must be said that the vehicle purchase was top condition and the customer service was good. It's a shame I was lied too.

Not the best experience I've had buying a car!!! Car wasn't even valeted, was offered a service when due but when spending £20k on a car the least it should be is clean. Lots of faffing around and was there a lot longer than I would have liked to be. Wasn't shown how the car worked and left with 10 miles of petrol late on a Saturday night to get the car back to Kent. Once in the car trying to figure it all out, was then asked to park outside the garage as they were closing. Very disappointed.

Really good experience with this company. Just helped My elderly father needed to upgrade him motor so we went to Essex car company. Sales staff were very friendly but not pushy. Showed good knowledge of each car we enquired about. Chris really helped dad and made him very comfortable. Service was great all the team seamed welcoming. I am so happy because they looked after my dad and felt like he got a special service. I would 100% recommend Essex Car Company great service and good value.

H was so so helpful with all my queries and also pointed out the very minor cosmetic issue with my car before asking me if I wanted it fixed or an extra years warranty which I was pleased to take. He was amazingly helpful and informed. For my finance I dealt with Steve who was open honest and helpful while fully explaining what I was signing up to. I would totally recommend essex car company to anyone, they were thorough, helpful and friendly.

Have both the car from this garage. I have asked is the car in a good state. The seller has been nice to assist but have not said that the car was hit hard on the wheel. When I took it to the BMW service they have done the work and still could not fix to 100 proc rear axle. The information was not given about proper service. Be careful before purchasing the car. The advice I would give, first check yourself in the dealers garage what are you buying and in what state.

Sold me a warranty that doesn't cover anything they told me it would. Staff also told me on numerous occasions that they are 100% sure it covers particular areas that it doesn't. Train your staff to know what they are talking about before mis selling products and cars that have problems that will cost buyers almost £1000 to fix. Terrible after care, but fantastic when you are purchasing as they clearly want to make the commission. Definitely WOULD NOT recommend.

"old style" car dealership. Paid £99 for test drive and agreed to meet at specific time. Car was not cleaned and not ready on forecourt. Furthermore the car had a lot of scratches upholstery holes, etc. that were not mentioned in the ad. To top it all the car smell of smoke which is a complete no no. You can expect also all the typical cheap salesman tactics that doesn't do the profession any good. I will buy by next car from another forecourt....

By Far, the smoothest car purchase I’ve ever gone through. All the staff are polite and quick to respond to individual requests, I’ve just financed a lovely bmw which wasn’t too expensive and drives an absolute treat. Very happy with how my sales adviser handled the whole transaction and personally sorted everything for me painlessly and prompt. Highly recommend the dealership and if you want the same experience as me, the man to find is “H”.

Terrible experience, nice all the way up untill I part exchanged my car and bought my new one. Never got my v5 document through. They never sent off for it. Phoned plenty of times to ask when the finally answered they just said it must of got lost in the post. Somehow my old car went through the Dartford charge the next day and I got charged for it. Tried fighting it and racked up a massive bill thanks to it. Had to pay it

Very happy with customer service from Abs and Pierre...I nearly left without buying my car due to a few marks after a mop up, but they were able to settle my queries and sort out the car so it was in excellent condition. Fair part exchange price towards a great little car. Like to push a hard bargain when it comes to finalising the deal, but ended up being very fair. AA inspected cars is a plus point. Property has a few to many vehicles crammed in which makes viewing a little tricky. Pierre was really good. Would recommend if you're are paying cash, can't comment on finance as we didn't need any.

POOR! Sold a vehicle with faults and deny them being there even with evidence provided! Mileage was higher than advert stated. Had the car for 48hrs before all the masked imperfections came to light and they have now had it for a week doing repairs. They take forever to respond and do not answer questions that are asked and just continue to dodge them. Applaud by this company!

Only thing I'd say there is to improve is that the team should only deal with one customer at a time one the day of purchase, things can become very messy and delayed when someone is trying to deal with many customers at once.
