My family and I ventured out to the Cheetham Hill branch of Evans Cycles, after a bit of a disappointing customer experience at a closer branch, earlier that day. We'd specifically been looking for a bicycle for my son, as he had a riding assessment with his school coming up, however it had been some time since he'd ridden and had totally outgrown his last bike. We really needed some advice but staff at the earlier branch seemed too busy to speak with us. Totally a different customer experience at the Cheetham Hill branch, where my wife and I were really impressed with the knowledgeable and helpful staff. Whilst busy themselves - they still interacted with us from entering the store, and made us feel really valued and welcome. No hard sell, honest friendly advice from mechanic RJ, who had tons of patience with my son whilst measuring him up, and letting him try some bikes out.  A genuinely pleasant experience which saw me return home and order the exact bicycle we wanted straight away, via their website. To top it all off, as the staff were aware my son had the riding assessment with school coming up the following week, manager Freddy telephoned us personally to advise he had got in touch with their main warehouse to ensure the bicycle was delivered and built in time (again by RJ) - Absolutely fantastic service! Easy 5 star rating from me, and my family and I will be returning to the Cheetham Hill branch of Evans Cycles for all our future cycling needs. Thank you very much to all the staff.

Poor customer service. My brother suffers with a brain injury and as a result has a stutter and struggles with communicating. He returned a bike with my dad in hope to have a simple repair on the neck because the plastic inside snapped causing the handle bars to be loose making it unsafe to ride. The rider of the bike weights approx 8stone This happened about 3 weeks after purchasing the £690 and could have caused an accident because of this mistake. The shop was empty not busy but instead of repairing the problem they had to take the bike to order a part. We are at about a week later and still have no bike or any communication at all from this shop. My brother tried to call to ask what was going on with the bike but was told to phone back the next day. This is not how you expected to be treated as a customer for such a small repair.

Reason for the two stars is that I was hounded about the £25 cycle assembly service. Even when I went to collect the cycle this £25 cycle assembly service was mentioned. Got a strange look on their faces when I said that I would assemble the cycle myself. When i got the cycle out of the box all I had to do was put the saddle on the frame, put the handlebars on the headset, put the pedals on and put the front wheel on the front forks. That's it. About 10 minutes of my time. The most time that was taken was to remove the packaging. All the tools I needed was provided in the box! Summary: The £25 assembly service that was being pushed onto me was a rip-off and I'm glad I assembled the cycle myself.

Staff here are absolutely amazing. Picked up my new bike recently and all the guys here were experts in their field and they really do go above and beyond to make sure you know exactly what you’re getting and ensure you’re happy with your purchase. I have to say I have not come across service like this for a long time in a shop. Usually staff are just a stood around bored and disinterested, but in Evans Cheatham Hill you can see the staff have a genuine interest in their work and it’s refreshing to see. The shop is well presented, laid out and kept. The bikes are easily visible and they have a extremely wide range available. Alongside their extensive range of accessories. 100% recommend.

AMAZING EXPERIENCE AT THIS STORE! I had a really bad experience trying to buy a bike at Halfords so came straight over to Evans instead and was served by an older gentleman (I think his name was Ed) who was fantastic. He was probably the friendliest guy I’ve ever been served by. He was polite, listened to what I needed, and offered me numerous bikes within my budget. I decided to make a purchase and was able to walk out the store with my new bike 10 minutes later. Outstanding service, amazing store, super friendly staff, and extra shoutouts to Ed for his awesome customer service :D Thank You! I’ll back again for all my future accessories and hikes.

Charlatans that are lovely when taking your money. However if they have to give you any money back they'll deny you your basic rights and even the manager apparently doesn't have authority to give people their money back anyway. Speaking of which, the condescending little swine of a manager who goes by the name of Freddie Hutchinson is the last person you should ever buy a bike from. This is not the decent Evans Cycles of the past, this is Mike Ashley Cycles, and like his other businesses, it's little more than a scam for parting you from.yoir hard earned. Avoid it at all costs. Give your money to Cooksons Cycle, a decent local bike shop.

Went with a broken pedal which only had a nut loose and could be fixed with just one tool but the guy at evans said that they don't have time for a 2 min job and need us to make an appointment and also told us that the pedal is broken and will have to get a new one and gave us a rough estimate of 60£. We took our cycle to Halford and they did it for free in 2 minutes, we even asked them the amount to be paid for their service and the guy at Halfords said what's there to pay for this, it's all cool.

Excellent service in Evans Cycles today. The staff member who assisted us, Man, was knowledgable, helpful and attentive. He took the time to show us various bikes and explain their differences to us. He was happy to get out different bikes for us to look at and try, as well as pointing us to deals and discounts though not putting any pressure on us at any point. We are very happy with our purchase and the service we receiced.

  • Owen Graham

Booked in for a service stating I'd need the bike back the same day. Arrived for the service at 1030 to be told no mechanics available now but they'll be in at 11 and will call you to tell you what needs to be done. Went back in at 1230 as I'd not had a call, was told it wouldn't be done today, so a wasted trip. Evans need to improve their staffing and communication, this is not the first time I've had issues with evans.

I visited today and had an absolutely fantastic experience. All the staff were great - in particular MC who helped me with the purchase of my new bike. He was very friendly and knowledgeable and made me feel right at home. 5 star customer service experience. I would recommend this place to my friends and I would definitely come back here for my next bike in the future.

  • Zahid

A great range of bikes as well as accessories. I was looking to try out a bike and had great service. The assistant was very patient and answered all my questions and let me try the different bikes as well as give me advice on type of bike that I needed for what activities I wanted to do. You can book in advance or just turn up on the day.

Firstly, I would like to thank Doug for a great new customer experience in purchasing a Cannondale bicycle. I felt that all my presale questions were answered with product knowledge and enthusiasm. Secondly, thanks to Evans Cycles for such a good price point for the Cannaondale Trial 7 mountain bike. Overall a good customer experience.

We came to pick some bikes up today as part of the DfT/Cycling UK scheme. All the staff were so happy to help and chat things through. The guy who helped us upstairs was genuinely a nice bloke I could've spent ages chatting to. I don't usually like Evans as a brand/store but the lads in here have really changed my opinion!

  • Stephen

I went to Evans Cycles at the Fort Cheetham Hill yesterday. I had an issue with my electric mountain bicycle. The mechanic Mike was fantastic. He explained the problem and differing cost-effective solutions. He was very professional and helpful. Clearly, he knew his stuff. I would recommend the workshop at Evans Cycles.

  • Craig Woods

The store are advertised as being part of the e bike loan scheme for Manchester but the advertisement doesn't mention they only had 25 bikes today and another 30 later in the month. Don't turn up looking to register because you can't until the next release. We walked along way to register only to be turned away
